Maria: All I can say is find another bank. This place has gone down hill FAST. Want some examples, okay sure…. 1. They allowed another member to withdraw over 10k from accounts of mine and all of the transactions took place at exactly 8:24 pm. Hmmm you’d that might be a red flag. 2. After I reposted the fraud they froze my accounts along with the very little money that was left for over 3 weeks. Around the 3 week mark I had to start making calls and getting to the bottom of all of it. DCU never once followed up or communicated anything with me. During this time my Apple Card payment was over due and as you know you can’t pay credit with credit so I needed access to my checking account to make good on my debts. In ordering to pay the Apple Card I had to add my new debit card to my Apple wallet, DCU couldn’t manage that. I still haven’t got my new debit card added and had to seek other methods to make the payment. During this time my father bought a truck private sale and the owners loan was with DCU. DCU cashed the check from my father and said they “mailed” the title. Five weeks went by and absolutely no sign of the title and my poor Dad had a truck he couldn’t drive which cost him a lot of money within his business. DCU would not do anything to help. Basically they got paid so they could of cared less. Today I called to get my mobile banking app verified and it was seriously the last straw. It’s 2021 ~ why is it so difficult to set up a mobile banking app? Here I am step by step instructing the RUDE customer service rep on how they have always gone about verifying me. “They send the two codes wait ten minutes, if I don’t get the code they send a secured message to my inbox” DCU rep “Ummm No that’s actually not correct” regardless of what is or isn’t correct- the fact is- THIS PROCESS IS ABSURD! I’m sick of jumping throwing YOUR hoops to TRY and access my money. I’m waking into Lowell branch tomorrow and closing any accounts that I can. Enterprise just gained to customer.
Consuelo Santos: On August 13 at 10am we went to DCU bridge st Lowell mass to speak to a customer service rep and Flavia Cady attended us with horrible service. We simply wanted to inquire about a check and Flavia yelled at us asking who will be paying the taxes and we said we would no problem but she continued and I asked why she had such attitude and I told her this bank is usually nice to us but she replied good for us and we asked to speak to manager and she said I am the manager and laughed and said if you want better service go take it somewhere else. Christy Wess: On a customer/user-friendly stand point, not my cup of tea... Due to husband's health issues, we created a joint account for ease of use, he chose DCU because it's close to our house. The idea of a joint account was so I can always have access during hospitalizations and escalated issues/disputes.For the first year, even as a joint account holder, when I called for balances / questions he still had to verify his identity and give verbal permission for me to discuss the account. Yes, a year to get this resolved on what was supposed to be a JOINT account from the get go.The account security is strong which can be good, and is why they get 2 stars. But security so strong they will never change your pin. It's set by DCU and will only be changed if they can prove someone used it to access your account without permission. NO EXCEPTIONS. Not even for medically documented memory issues.Disputes, like most banks, take several weeks to sort out. In only 2 1/2 years, we've had to complete 3 disputes. All stemming from screwed up ATM transactions; ATM's either not dispensing money or giving the incorrect amount and not reflecting the correct balances. Which would make anyone hesitate to trust this bank with their big savings.Lastly, convenience. Our local bank ATMs are ALWAYS full with a line (there are 2 in the same spot). Other than this we have to drive to the next town or pay ATM fees. Yes, we have the "Free Checking" which touts refunds of ATM surcharges from other institutions up to $25/mo... In 2 1/2 years we have YET to be refunded for even one surcharge, with the response being, "we'll need to look into this further".I've had a bank account since I was 14 and NEVER had this much trouble accessing my own money, disputing balances and transactions.In over 10 years of having an account in another local bank, I have yet to complete a dispute on my personal bank account - just saying!Watch your money, fees and account like a hawk here!

Jon Zimbel: The upper floors offer some amazing views of Southie and Boston Harbor for those lucky enough to work in or visit the offices. The entrance atrium is also very beautiful. Employees can enter the building via a tunnel from the South Station T stop, avoiding bad weather entirely if they need to. My only complaint while working here was the elevators, which seemed to run at half capacity at most for the duration of my six-month internship.

Denise Perrault: I asked about a 0% interest credit card transfer. I was told we don't have 0% interest credit card loans at this time, but you can open a credit card at 9.99% interest rated and transfer your money (from 3 credit cards, $4,000). I said that it sounded better than over 20%. I was approved for $4,000. I went into the bank thinking I was agreeing to a balance transfer at 9.99% interest going onto my new card. But instead, they had me sign my name on an electronic pad and I was tricked into a cash advance loan. I never would ever have agreed to a cash advance for anything. Instead of paying my bills down with a 9.99% credit card, I have been paying since 2017, and still owe $2,000.00. I will be paying almost $8,000 instead of $4,000 at 9.99%. There is no such thing as a transfer onto their credit card only paying 9.99%. Instead, you will be paying that Cash advance loan off for years no matter how much you pay. I was even paying $150 a month for months, but they manueuver fees in the background but never disclose the hidden fees on your bills. I reported them to NCUA who did nothing. I will be paying this "cash advance trickery" for another 2 years. They put your payments towards fees in addition to % that the fees do not even show up on your bill. They are scam artists. Instead of paying down my debt, they created more debt, never disclosed that I was signing up for a cash advance. Never sign up for 0% anything, because they do a bait and switch w you. you will think you're agreeing to signing up for one type of service, 9.99% on a credit card, but instead they have you sign an electronic pad without a disclosure, agreeing to their cash advance that will impose hidden fees on you for years! RUN FROM DCU.

So Lo: Although this is my regular banking institution needed to talk with someone... didn't realize had to check in and wait or was I supposed to make an appointment? Wasn't clear and without my glasses check in was virtually impossible to complete. No one would assist so completed my business at teller and left.
David Culley: I used a credit union in Washington State for 30 years and had maybe 2 problems with them that were addressed respectfully and earnestly. I've been with DCU for about 2 years and have never once had an interaction with them that went smoothly or where I felt welcomed. They're nearly impossible to get on the phone (just informed of an hour and 20 min estimated hold time), so I go to branches (Littleton branch most often). I have never felt welcomed, and often leave with the feeling that they viewed me as a bother more than a client. It seems they're more interested in finding ways to not have to do anything than problem solving. No clue what the management is like at DCU, but customer service doesn't seem to be a priority. I'm done with them... 2 years of a pattern this strong is not to be ignored.

He made it a breeze to get, he admitted he needed some help finishing the process and Annette was very prompt to help him get me my check! Would recommend this DCU to anyone.

T Lane: Let your customers create their own PINs! I've had my checking account for almost three weeks now and I still can't use my debit card as a debit card because I haven't received my PIN! Sending it through the mail doesn't seem like a particularly secure way of getting it, and I can't even change it to something unique that only I would know when (or maybe I should say if?) I get it? So far I like DCU better than my previous bank but not being able to fully use my card is really inconvenient, and the fact that it's sent through the mail and I can't change it to something of my own choosing doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the security of my account!
Mark McDonough: The Littleton DCU at "The Point" plaza is conveniently located, staff are very helpful and pleasant, I use the DCU drive-through ATM frequently. The online DCU experience is also very good, fast and easy to use. Would have given 5 stars but the lack of a lobby-ATM seems odd to me, not sure why pedestrians at the plaza only have a drive-through ATM option.

Linda Gmelch: Applied for an auto loan with the 800#. Each time I called in, as process in purchasing the car took some time and I had to reapply, I received different information with each call. In the end my loan amount was different from the approved amount the evening before. I took the loan reluctantly as my husband was so mad he wanted to withdraw our money from DCU. Although our representative in Andover, Amaurys Marmolejos, handled the situation in a professional manner for which I would give him personally 5 stars but not the bank itself. How the information could be so far off is surprising. I think they need to retrain their staff
no name: I had to get a new card and picked it up in the branch in methuen and was confused why it didn't work. I called this branch and a lovely worker informed me it wasn't activated and proceeded to give me detailed steps on how to activate it. Love the customer service! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Kimberly Dougherty: Bought a new car with financing through DCU, never got the first bill, instead got an overdue invoice. I was expecting the first bill soon, so it didn't occur to me that it was already overdue. I called and had to pay over the phone, I don't have any information to login on-line and was waiting for the first statement to set it up on autopay using my home bank. I called member service and it says I will be on hold for 4 hours!!!! Seriously. This is a JOKE!! And now I have to hear about their loan program on loop....what loan program? Get folks locked in then scam them for breach of payment on the first bill, raise their interest, send them to collections then don't provide support unless they want to wait 4 hours!!!
Cole Kingsman: Extremely pleased with the auto loan and the great customer service to obtain this. It was super quick, easy and Josephine Lopez was very accommodating with finding me the perfect arrangement for me to pay the loan off and they also have an insurance team that helps you find the best rates and prices for your new vehicle. I will be recommending DCU to all my friends and family for there future banking needs I have never been more pleased with my decision and for that I have to thank Josephine
Bill Silk: DCU updated their website and their mobile app on 1/31/22, the last day of the month. I was unable to logon from their website or mobile app. I called their phone number and a call back would not happen for 4 hours. I tried using DCU’s link to update my app on both my iPhone and iPad, both the latest version of iOS for both but a prompt appeared that neither of my devices was supported.With bills due the next day I drove to a local branch where other members were also reporting this issue. One DCU employee stated she had the same problem with her Apple Devices and when she pressed the Store link when the error appeared I could manually update the app through the App Store.This worked but in my opinion is unacceptable.It was also VERY frustrating that while on hold, it was suggested that I try resolving my issue online or with their App, neither of which worked.They CLEARLY did not test this completely and I wasted my time and gas going to their branch office where I again waited more than 30 minutes to speak to someone before leaving feeling even more frustrated.This was very unprofessional and they clearly do not value their member’s time.Instead of waiting more than 4 hours for a call back or having to drive to an office, why didn’t their automated message suggest updating from the App Store father than the link their NOVICE upgrade team provided.I am now researching other Credit Unions in my area due to this terrible, half baked, unprofessional, upgrade and customer service.I will be sure to share this TERRIBLE experience with anyone who will listen.DCU should be ashamed!!!
Abdul Lohar: I used to do business banking with this bank and the reason I left is because of the long lines when making deposits. Most reviews on here are very accurate. My advice is to bank somewhere else since this bank doesn't care about your time.

Michael: The bank use to great about sending notice they were going to do schedule maintenance. Now we get surprised all the time. Let's get back on track with a heads up.
Diane Packard: I needed to go to the Haverhill MA location to deposit money, and drop off my mother's death certificate. She passed away on New Year's Eve. I made my transaction with the teller, and told her about my mom. She told me that the lady sitting in the office would help me. I walked into her office, she looked at me annoyed, told her who I was, and what I needed to do. She grab the death cert from me to make a copy, she storms off, and a few minutes later came back. She then tells me that I have 90 days to close this account. I tell her that I was not sure if her estate will be settled in 90 days. Its a joint accoint, and after 90 days it should just flip into my name. She said, its not your account, its your mother's, and she is dead. No amount of tranning can fix this issue. I plan on calling the manager of this branch. This person needs to be fired. I will not wait the 90 days, after all checks clear, I am closing this account. I will never do business with Merrimack Vally Credit Union again.
GTAfan421: I’ve been a member for about five years now, and this bank has totally nosedived in quality since the pandemic started. Just to get simple things done like paying a bill or trying to change your mailing address is like an act of congress in this branch, which is unfortunately my home branch. Most times the tellers are generally nice, but today I went in to pay a credit bill, which I’ve done several times in the past, but the guy who did it the last couple times wasn’t there. The lady snarkily snapped at me and said there’s no way I could have paid my credit bill there, cause they don’t do that. She basically tried to say I was a liar about that before I just deposited money in my checking and left. Terrible and unprofessional as heck. Also the overdraft and ATM fees with this bank are absolutely outrageous. If you overdraft by even one (1) dollar, they hit you with a $25 overdraft fee, and if you withdraw from a bank outside of the MVCU family (of which there are very very few branches btw) they sometimes hit you with a fee over ten (10) dollars! Its robbery. Avoid.
Tamaralee Perez: I went there for a notary ! To put my child into school, I had to get the proper papers signed! One of the branch managers completely ignored us when we came in, didn’t ask us if we needed help, but one of the tellers did say hello and asked if we needed help so she was good! Then she tells us to take a seat and that someone will be right with us…we wait for 5-7 minutes at that…the bank lady then walks towards the back and says “ can I help you” in a very rude tone of voice, as if she was bothered! So I explained what I needed and her reply was “oh ok” and she just walked into her office and didn’t tell us to follow or nothing she just pointed her face…then I hand her the document I need notarized and she starts to personally question me but in a way that seemed discriminative… then she tries to tell me that I have to be a member in order to get it notarized through them, so I said okay expecting her to hand the paper back and we leave… NO! She held the paper for another 7 minutes and continued to ask questions that were none of her business!! She spoke to us as if we were trying to get one over on her, or lie to her, how do you make that assumption right off the back? That’s called being discriminated against! She judged us off appearance ! She then recommended the city clerk , so I said okay bye have a good day. Went to the clerk she didn’t have any issue at all notarizing it for me, all she asked was who’s the landlord, had the landlord sign show ID and then swear on oath and that’s it !!!! Simple took less then 3 minutes and great customer service at the city clerk! This bank is filled with Ignorance ! I would never go back with the way I was treated
RED Hamachi: I've had mvcu for 3 years now I always kept my balance into the positive unfortunately now it's in the negative cuz I'm struggling financially When I first went negative it was due to me forgetting to unsubscribe from something but I cleared it but even if it's $3.00 that gets charged to my account I get chargerd with $20 into fees that's ridiculous it's making me more negative it's kind of Overkill I don't think I'm going to keep this Bank anymore
Libby Doc: MVFCU is the best! I had an issue with my vehicle loan, I paid it off, check had not hit my loan. I needed to stop the payment from paying off the loan as I was selling it that same day to Car Max, and they wouldn’t buy it unless there was a loan balance of I had the title. Laureen was able to locate the check, call the Seabrook office, and reverse the payoff. It worked! I was able to sell the car and all worked out perfectly. All due to Laureen and the Seabrook office. That’s great customer service! Thank you MVFCU! I am iOS the almost owner of this beauty, financed with MVFCU!
Gina Sabanty: I was one of the original member service reps hired to open that branch in Haverhill. Even though I no longer live or work in Haverhill anymore, I still do all my banking there. They are wonderful people.
Deena Campbell: Online banking is great (when it’s working) but always seems to have issues. Sometimes I can’t log into my account for hours at a time. More often than not I’m reading “Something went wrong. Please try again.” When trying to log in.
Christine Dovey: Online banking is slow and not updated enough, constantly screwing up my account and isn't dependable when I check it.
Jonathan Castillo: I been a MVCU member three years already and I love it. The app is easy to deposit checks or transfer money. Branches are located very convenient and costumer service is awesome. Overall I would definitely recommend MVCU

donna coates: After reading a post on a Town talks page I doubt I would use them if they cant handle their business privately and legally. On the post they trash a person publicly and if any of what they say is true then they have options of taking that person to court. If the person has never truly worked for them they could legally force him to remove his reference to them as an employee.
ashley jones: Once upon a time I would tell everyone how great they were i had many people join slowly small changes began to happen esp in terms of employees the best of the best left. The majority of ppl who now work there are rude and no clue what they are doing. I miss the old ways and ill be sure to never ever tell another soul to join them.

Chris Hart: Not very friendly. Our credit Union shares an branch argeement with them but the tellers won't help you unless you have account with them. I will just take my business elsewhere and when I need a local account it won't be here.
Jillyan: Extremely helpful, they always go above and beyond. Kellie in Seabrook NH office is wonderful. Also their Auto Adviser Kevin Dunn is awesome makes buying a car painless.
KiaChia: I have had my account at MVFCU for 31years, however I would never get a home equity or mortgage thru Merrimack Valley Federal Credit Union again. The process was long it took about 2 months for a home equity loan. We re-submitted the material needed several times, I am not sure if they lost it or what. They also do not understand home owners insurance vs mortgage insurance. They kept asking use to increase our home owner's policy to insure the entire value of the loan. Home owner's insurance insures the cost of the dwelling, it does not include the value of the land. It took a few days to try and explain that to the loan processor. We signed up for automatically withdrawal due on the 1st of the month. They haven't taken it out and for some reason they have it being withdrawn from a savings account instead of our checking. After 2 phone calls hopefully they will start withdrawing the loan payment correctly, before the 10 day grace period. Very inexperienced loan processors. In the past we have always gone to a mortgage company for our home purchases and refinances but figured we would try MVFCU.

Al otro dia voy en persona a la sucursal de central plaza y la chica muy amable me dijo lo mismo ni la llamada reclamo y todavia estoy esperando. Ni El dinero Ni la llamada. Recommendation; no usen la ATM para sacar dinero. Esta preparada para robar su dinero. En cuanto tenga tiempo o vaya la proxima vez cierro la cuenta. Mal servicio Al cliente!! Estoy muy molesto. Ojala nadie pass por esto. Se me descuadro El message por su culpa... tengo Los recibos del retiro pero a ellos Le valle madres...
