We wanted to do something with our non-functional fireplace, which would be very costly to repair as well as inconvenient for us to use. We considered a wood-burning insert but did not have the necessary clearance with our current mantel, so we went with gas. This option was more affordable than the full chimney repair, looks amazing, AND is ridiculously easy to use. It heats our living room in minutes! We absolutely love it and wish we had done it years ago.

Tank Junior Racing: I grew up in Chelmsford. When ever it was time to get a grill you just went local to Chelmsford Fireplace center on Summer street. This place is still first class from what I remember as a kid. I grew up playing baseball with the owners son. About 15 years ago I replaced my Dads 20 plus year old grill with Ducane. He still has it. Ten years ago I bought a weber Q just got the bigger one for our camper last year. My camp has a Weber and last weekend I just bought a new Weber genesis 2 all stainless for the homestead. I cannot express how fantastic the staff is here. Don't go to the box stores get your grill local . I am a loyal customer for life.

george doble: We purchased a Mendota fireplace, had it installed by their recommended installer(who handled everything, permit, vents, etc). We are VERY HAPPY with everything -it was installed three years ago.We had one installed in our place at the Cape, by another store on the cape, as Chelmsford does sell to Cape; had a foul smell since it was installed. Called Chelmsford, explained our issue, the man we spoke to spent time listening to our problem, he explained that the smell was due to dust & we just needed to burn it on high for 3 hours , both burners, and fan on low when it is not used during the summer. Well, that fixed the problem, today we are again using our fireplace and no smell.Thank you for your time and expertise, you people deserve a BIG thank you.We tell all our friends what great service we receive from you.Judy & George Doble
EMMANUEL VARGAS: Very friendly and customer service was beyond. Way better service, friendlier and cheaper than going to the Stove Shoppe which was my first visit. Glad I visited Chelmsford Fireplace center. I recommend.
Nancy Skoog: Our relatively new gas fireplace wouldn't start this fall, so we called the Chelmsford Fireplace Center to get someone to come out and look at it. The repairman, Will, was meticulous about wearing a mask, and he removed his shoes prior to entering our basement family room. He carefully spread out a drop cloth to keep the area clean, and he was polite, prompt, knowledgeable, and very professional and pleasant.Will determined that the generator we had installed last summer - about two years after the installation of the Chelmsford Fireplace Center gas fireplace - likely caused the problem. The furnace, the gas fireplace, and the generator were all hooked into the same gas line. So, Will carefully tweaked the burner settings and the position of the fireplace "logs" to maximize the gas flow, and the fireplace now works better than it ever had. The room warms up quickly, and the gas fireplace looks appealing, works well, and throws out ample heat. We are simply delighted! I highly recommend Chelmsford Fireplace Center.

Brackett Tucker: My wife and I purchased a Mendota gas fireplace insert in August, and it was installed in early September. The installer was Templeton Plumbing and Heating of Groton MA, and this company did an excellent job. They subcontracted out the removal of the existing woodstove and stainless steel chimney liner, and installation of the new liner. This all went fine except the subcontractor poked a two-inch hole through screen on my front door while removing the stove. He offered money, but I said (rightly, in my opinion) that I didn't want money, I just wanted the screen fixed. Skipping the details, it tooks weeks to get the screen repaired, and ultimately the main contractor took the problem under his own control and got it fixed. As for the fireplace, it looked (and still does look) absolutely spectacular. This Mendota is fairly small due to the size of the fireplace opening, and has the "birch log" package with front and back burners. A day after installation, we noticed that the natural gas burners would go out occasionally, then re-light after a few seconds. This happened repeatedly, and we sought resolution from Chelmsford Fireplace Center. Bruce, an experienced professional in the gas utility business and the lead technician for CFC, came to the house and discovered that the sensor next to the pilot was "slightly bent". As the stove heated up, the effect of the heat on the metal caused the distance from the pilot to increase, triggering a shut-off. As it cooled, the gas would come back on. Well, I could never have figured that out--but he did, and quickly. Since then, the gas fireplace insert has been working perfectly, we have received many compliments, and the heat it generates is fantastic. We are thrilled with the result, although it was a rocky road there for a while. I would highly recommend both Chelmsford Fireplace Center and their preferred installer, Templeton Plumbing and Heating, if you want a thorough and informative sales experience for generally upscale gas fireplace inserts (thanks, Mark!), people who show up on time and do their work with expertise and confidence, and stand by the results until you are 110% satisfied.

Somewhat Local: They saved a wedding! So here's the story. Client of mine has a fire pit we installed 3 years ago. They are having 300 plus person wedding. Fir pit is off of pool and is the key point of gathering at night. Heat element filament broke yesterday. I guess they dont last long in salt environment. So I call hpc people we bought the pit from not the best of help. Called everyone I could got nothing. Google some more found this place. They said they had it, knew the pit we had. Email a pic at night to make sure as it was a long drive, emailed me back 1 minute after they opened the next morning that they have it. Drove down they walked me through the install of the part friendly chat and on my way. I will drive and call them from now on I dont care if there are other stores closer. They have parts in stock, knowledge of what they sell, and great communication. Thank you

Vinnie Penella: Our Vermont Casting stove was deemed unrepairable by two other service people. Jake from your service department came by and fix it in a jiffy and the stove is like brand new. So grateful to Jake and your company for this fix. Got us through this subzero weekend with no problems. Great to have you in our neighborhood. 👍👍
Dan Sierra: Bought a $10k fireplace from them and the problems began at installation. They sent 2 guys and neighter knew what they were doing and seemed perplexed during the install. Of course it didn't work properly and I had to chase them for weeks trying to get them to resolve it. They don't answer the phone in the store, they don't return calls. It wasn't until I disputed the install charge on my credit card that they finally got back to me to set up a time to come to home to properly install it. This was more than 6 weeks after the original installation of calls and emails with very little interest in getting back to me. The new guy did get it working but was complaining that it was so far from his home even though I was assured more than once it would be no probelm to service it at my home in RI. I did release the dispute was it was working and they got the install charge covered. Then the next problem arose a number of months later and I had the same experience reaching anyone. When I did the owner made me go through several steps in proving to him that I had released the dispute. The credit card company provided the documentation showing the money was released to him and he has used this as an excuse not to follow up and fix the fireplace. This new process has been going on for over 10 weeks. So buyer beware, they are not a professional place to do business with if you have problems and expect professional follow up, and the store to stand behind their promises.

Raina Burke: Incredibly unfriendly staff, I’ve been there three times and have always been treated incredibly rude. I’m always met with curt responses and they clearly have no desire to help their customers. I won’t be shopping here again.

Jess: have bought pellets here for years, purchased a pellet stove from them, and Ordered 2 TONS of pellets from Jason last June, still have not received them. Tried cancelling my order to get a refund since I had to buy them from East coast....Got the run around for 2 weeks, no one returned my calls, no one returned my messages. I had to dispute the charges with my credit card company in order to get the money returned, and only then did we receive a call back.Shawn is one if the rudest people I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with, he speaks to the customers with such ignorance, he is condescending, demeaning, he clearly says what you want to hear to shut you up and get you off the phone, and then accuses you, the customer of lying about the conversation you previously had with himJason if you read this review if this is the kind person you want as the face of your business I would anticipate more customers leaving bad reviews, and never returning to your store. The only thing I can think for his behavior to be tolerated is that he is some sort of a family member, which is the reason you to allow him to treat your customers this way. Also when someone pre pays for 2 tons of pellets perhaps order them in a timely manner so they get the merchandise they paid for, there is no real shortages any where else around the area so not sure why you are having such a difficult time?Only giving the store a 1 star because 0 stars was not an option.
Paul Passariello: I purchased a Ravelli Roma fireplace insert in September 2017 for a fair price. In November of 2017 the unit began malfunctioning. After many unreturned phone calls and having to physically go to the store I had to perform several troubleshooting steps on my own. After more phone calls, many unreturned, store visits, emails, and finally intervention by my credit card provider that resulted in several painful to schedule service visits it was decided to replace the unit in April!Please note that by April the unit had run inefficiently all heating season causing an astronomical heating bill between oil and pellets. Now, with my "new unit" I am going through the same problems and lack of Service by Fireplace Outlet. It has been over 2 weeks now and I am getting the same delay tactics to troubleshoot the issue myself, more unreturned phone calls, and worst of all a cavalier attitude by the owner on why it takes them sooo long to get back to customers as this is their busy season. Meanwhile they have my almost 5000 dollars that I paid and I am going through 1.5 bags of Pellets a day at the units lowest setting! Not to mention having to vacuum out the unit 3 to 4 times a week.Update 11/24/2018 spoke to Jason today in the store and he is coming out in person to inspect the unit this week. Keeping my fingers crossed.Update 9/15/2021 after 3 and a half years Fireplace Outlet abandoned working on resolving this matter in May of this year. It is conspicuous to note that this occurred after the credit card issuers resolution timeline. Although in the end Jason made many visits to attempt to get this unit to function properly he was never able to and the unit continues to burn almost 1.5 bags of pellets per day at it's lowest setting! Their final answer is that I would have to take it up with the manufacturer. I am still waiting to hear from Jason as to who at Ravelli I should speak to! Buyer beware!Update 12/6/2021 found another authorized Ravelli Dealer. Tech came out, properly cleaned unit, reset various settings, ordered new parts. Stove is running perfectly with no backups! 4 years of dealing with Fireplace Outlet and this could not be accomplished!Amazing how many fake reviews Jason and Carl put on here that Google is supposed to prohibit them from doing. Just so everyone knows, any reviews you see from Jason Tardiff, Capco Service or Carl Caporale are fake and are supposed to be prohibited by Google. They are trying to balance the negative reviews they receive. Be very careful dealing with these people as they are very bad at providing service to people once they have your money!
Jeremy Remick: I just purchased a new napoleon prestige pro grille from Jason and Amber from the Fireplace Outlet! Both of them were super friendly and knowledgeable about their products and helped me decide which grill would be right for me and my family! I would highly recommend the Fireplace outlet for any of your gas appliance needs! I will be coming back to look at gas inserts for replace my wood burning fireplace within the next few weeks.

We had issues with our stove right after installation and it was like pulling teeth to try and get help out of these people. He avoids callbacks at all costs. It got to a point where we had to file a complaint with the BBB and only then did I get call back from him only to be sworn at multiple times on the phone and continued to call my wife derogatory names. We had been nothing but professional with them and got the opposite in return. save yourself time, money and harassment and find another company.

It was still under warranty from manufacture and was all set to go back as I call the company that makes the stove. I was told bring in the stove and they would send it back for a credit for my money back. They will not return my calls or give me the money that is owed to me.

We got good advice when buying the stove and the installation was done in no time. Very happy with the 2 guys installing it today - they were professional, friendly, efficient, respectful of my home, great with my 2 dogs and they had a good sense of humor. They did not leave until the unit worked properly, gave me the info I needed for maintenance etc. so they will have our business for buying quality pellets and maintenance for years to come.

Rather than ranting on what the other cleaning service did wrong, 3 mins of trouble Shooting and I'm running. May have been the last cleaning guy but a loose wire solved the issue and earned my trust. I'm glad to see that FPO responded, you can read first hand how they do business. I'll add that FPO also REFUSED to service my stove even after I agreed to pay verbally. For All consumers being told that the MUST use Factory Trained service, please review the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. As a consumer, you have the right to choose whom you do business with. The review below is amended by Me to save space.We purchased a Ravelli Roma insert last year (installed Oct 24 2017). The stove is very attractive and it worked very well over the course of the year. My issues are less about the product and far more about the overall customer experience. To start, the product is not an inexpensive product nor is it the highest cost product . We did purchase the installation from the Fireplace outlet and we did wait a few weeks just to find out when delivery and installation would occur. To be clear here, delivery delays of an imported product is not due to the Fireplace Outlet. However, leaving the onus on the customer to gather updates is not good customer service.The install was done well, no issues and the installers were nice guys, friendly. My issue is that there was no real explanation of how the stove worked. I was basically told to "Buy out pellets", clean the pot, check this, check that and here is your paperwork. When I asked about the electronics, I was told that this is a new product for them but everything needed is in the manual. When asked about yearly maintenance I was told to call them next year. Now, when I purchased a factory install, I do expect a full and informative product in service. The install was fine....not great, not outstanding, fine. I could have purchased "fine" from Loews. When I was speaking with the Fireplace Outlet the other day, again, the onus is on ME to address the situation. Sorry, I chose to look elsewhere. I can find exceptional elsewhere.Ravelli, nice product..assistance from the US office in Norwell MA did spend a fair amount of time trying to connect me with a "Trained Tech"So why write this review a year after the fact ? I choose a highly rated service provider (BBB and Yelp highest score)that was given to me by family members. I will give them kudos all over facebook, Yelp and google as it really is not appropriate here. Long Story Short, great cleaning but apparently there are a few steps NOT LISTED IN MY MANUAL that must be followed. I spent time online and it appears to be a sensor that needs to be cleaned regularly. I have read the manual multiple times, my Stove Guy read the manual..This is part of the cleaning SOP that is only to be done buy a trained and authorized Ravelli service rep. Currently, my stove WILL NOT OPERATE. When I called the Fireplace Outlet I was essentially chastised for not choosing factory authorized service My experience with Ravelli was similar, almost felt like I owed them a kiss on the ring for buying their product. So, I am now waiting until Nov to have the stove serviced. The company that did the initial service stopped by to offer a full refund, handed me the cash in hand and apologized face to face.To close, a few things to state. The Ravelli is a nice product if you are prepared to be beholden to them and their service for the life of the product. Do not expect any support our service documentation.The Fireplace Outlet charged a fair price and the service is OK. Just understand that you will not have an exceptional customer experience.
Jim H: I stopped going to the Fireplace Outlet a couple of years ago because of the previous owners were not friendly, but recently I had heard that there were new owners that took it over, so I decided to give it another try and I was very pleasantly surprised. They provided outstanding customer service and I purchased a gas grill and outside propane fireplace, and some outdoor furniture; I was extremely happy with the price and the service. I would not hesitate to send any of my family and friends to the Fireplace outlet.

If you take the two negative reviews out from the old management then these guys would have five stars across the board!I went in looking for a specific grill. I was set on purchasing that grill until the owner Jason educated me on all of the grills and helped me pick out the Green Mountain Grill that best fit my needs. Not only is Jason very well educated on his products, but he couldn’t be a nicer more helpful guy. I ordered the grill and picked it up the next day when Jason personally called me the minute the grill was on location.Very pleased with the service and knowledge of the Fireplace outlet in Kingston!
