Ishan Pai: I came here today for first time. Love mexican food in general , but this place is up to the next great level. I totally love the flavors involved here in every dish that they make. I got the shredded chicken chimichangas, and my friend got a fish dish which was quite big. Portions are quite generous, and they make you full. Although i would love some level of spice too, it caters to most of your tastebuds. Overall, they serve great food and service. Would recommend it to everyone!

Pankaj Arora: Looked at the Google reviews and went to this restaurant. We were served crushed chips to begin with. The burrito had way too much oil in it. When we told the waiteress that the chips are all crushed, she replied saying it was the end of the batch and still did not have the courtesy to replace them.Overall bad experience and won't recommend.

They make up prices as they go I thought it was the language barrier, but I also to speak Spanish I went there 2 times in one week and it was 2 different prices same exact meals. I asked her in Spanish she tried to say I ordered something I even showed her the old receipt I gotten to find that the customer service is rude now like it’s a bother for you to get food that you are paying for. If local and want something quick and in a rush go there if u have time and looking for good consistent food and good service go to California burrito !

Em: Seems like their employees are miserable working there, perhaps forced. It reflects in the way they treat their paying customers, and the way how the food is prepped and handled. It makes me not really want to go back specifically because of the current kid who prepares your food. He doesn’t prepare it in good nature. PS: Every time I go there the people there are unfriendly and look visibly unhappy that I am a customer. The portions are nothing special. But the last time I was there 8/31/2022. I order two Birria O Carnitas. The Birria was dry! Birria is supposed to be like a beef pot roast, cooked in a flavorful seasoned broth wrapped in soft corn taco shells served with some of the broth on the side for dipping. When I got back to work I saw that my order came with no broth on dried out soft taco shells. Sadly to say, I am not going back there again. This place is nothing like their other restaurant in Gloucester. Gloucester has a bigger menu better portions and quality. Plus a nicer staff.

Rachel L.: Ordered take out. Drove in snowstorm to get this food. Drove home. Sat down with my fajitas and took one bite and a piece of I assume avocado stem. I still have it. So I bit down on it and experienced severe pain. I spit out my food to find a an extremely hard thing. So now I have tooth pain. My dinner is in the fridge, I didn't check it for more garbage. I called. I was apologized to but no manager on site. I just spent nearly $75 to have a piece of garbage hurt my tooth.I don't recommend because this situation hasn't been resolved. I'll be happy to take down this review if I get some kind of refund. It's unacceptable to have this happen spending that much money. Hopefully I can eat it tomorrow but it won't be fresh. Mariana Georges: We have dined in and ordered takeout, both experiences were wonderful. This is top notch Mexican food! I can now say it is the best in the area (I have been wanting to go for sometime and finally gave them a try from taking a break from our usual spot) We love their traditional empanadas as an appetizer, the shells are nice a crispy and the filling is well seasoned and plentiful. The birria tacos are also amazing. So are the Doña Maria enchiladas (the mole sauce is to die for; amazing depth of flavor, something very special about them. The rice is fluffy, and flavorful, tastes like home cooking.Additionally, the portion sizes are generous which allows for leftovers, who doesn't love that.Their employees are fabulous, attentive and offer great recommendations. The atmosphere inside is also very cozy and the decor is very cute. I appreciate the fact that they have parking around back.

They charge for water, ok it’s bottled but still…ordered quesadilla to go and then charged me $1.00 for the container. On top of that , they automatically charge 15% for service , whether it’s good or bad. I put in an extra 20% on top of the total amount because I didn’t know until I called back because I thought the total amount was high…they must be doing really bad :($1.00 for take out container, automatic 15%(1 person) tip, $2 for water…and I tipped $6 on top not knowing the tip was in the total.
David K: Use to enjoy going here for a tase of authentic Mexican/Colombian food. Unfortunately, the last two times I have went it has been horrible. The lady on the phone tells you 20 minutes, you go there in 20 mins and wait an additional 20 mins to get food. The food has gone way down hill and is terrible now. The rice is so hard you could break your teeth. It is the rice that they scrape off the bottom of the pan. The "beans" were just a brown soupy mess with no texture at all. Hopefully this place can get it back to the way it use to be. Pay good money for absolute garbage food.

Gary Hughes: We have always driven by this place and have seen it busy and wanted to try it. Well we finally did last night. I got a spicy shrimp dish special and added the carne asada. Another person at my table got the trio of steak, shrimp, and chicken. A third order from my table was the pork carnitas. They both told me their dishes were great and they would order them again. I would also order my dish again and it was thoroughly enjoyed. The margaritas were decent as well and the selection to choose from or create your own is available. All in all we were glad we tried it and will be going back again.

Edward Holland: Exactly the type of ethnic restaurant that I love. Minimal decor (a couple of fancy Sombreros and some Mexican throws on the wall) and great food. Clean, friendly. No fancy dishes, this is a tyoical taquaria, tacos, quesadillas etc. Jalisco is known for birrhia a Mexican stew and it is great here. So was everything else we tried. I especially loved the chorizo dishes. Their chorizo has a great flavor, much better than I have had elsewhere. Food is not spicy and portions are generous to large. We have gone twice for takeout and were very happy both times.

Jeremy Holland: Taqueria estilo Jalisco has a small menu but I respect a place that does a few things and does them well, and they did a great job on our food. All the meat was tender and flavorful. The tacos (we had the al Pastor and the Chorizo) were simple and delicious. The quesedillas (Pollo and Asada) were huge and packed with cheese. Takeout was packaged up carefully. Prices are very reasonable. We'll definitely be back!

Robert Lino: My wife and I decided to make the trip from Weymouth all the way to Lawrence just to give this little taqueria a try as I heard good reviews about them. Tacos Al Pastor were damn good but the award goes to the Quesabirria. Since I gave it the first bite I knew they were unique. I try going to different Mexican places around Mass (as a Mexican myself) just to give them a try. And for now, the best Quesabirria definitely goes to this place. Whenever I’m craving it again, I’ll definitely make the trip. It was totally worth it! Thank you!

Sabrina Schimoler: Excellent food. Everything is good. The nachos are large enough to feed two people with leftovers and are delicious! I prefer this place to tacos lupita. The meat is well cut. You don't find fat or bone in it and it is cut into very small pieces. They have soup on the weekends that is amazing. Big chunks of beef on the bone that you can pull apart with your fingers. So fresh and delicious.

Iranis Julio: Don’t Recommend.Came here with some friends after a long day at work, reviews were high on Google so we chose this place. When seated our tableware was thrown on the table. When it was time to order the waiter was getting frustrated because he only spoke Spanish and my friends don’t speak it well, I tried helping but it did not seem to make it any better. He sighed and gave attitude when asked for adjustments/substitutions to our orders. I understand how stressful it might be working as a waitress but it is still your job. When we asked for something that wasn’t put in to the order as we asked, he seemed bothered and came back with a big side order of it when it was just for one order. Because of the poor service we tipped him less of what we would’ve tipped if the service met a standard. Today we received note that he gave himself a $20 tip and a manager can’t be reached. Any suggestions of what we should do?

Geos reglaze Martinez: The staff is friendly, but the food needs to be better, I visited a few years ago and this place was good, now the food taste like they use old oil. The churros were still frozen inside, and were sour from the oil that was old I guess, I think that the churros need to be more fresh and instead of whipped cream they should add a scoop of ice cream instead. But honestly the food needs to be better made. And the restaurant needs a lot of mandates is falling apart looks old and dirty.

Adalberto Holguin: I’ve only been there for breakfast but it’s really tasty, as well as reasonably priced. Lots of interesting coffee options as well. Also, love the chill, relaxed vibe of the place. If I had to add a con it would be that parking can be a challenge during weekdays.
Alisa Povenmire: I hadn't been to Cafe Azteca for a few years and was surprised that they had moved- but found that I love the new funky setting. Parking on Essex street is a challenge but easy just around the corner on Common. The service was THE BEST. Fabulous bartender, whose name I didn't catch but wish I did, made us feel so at home. It was great that Mary, one of the owners, also came to say hi to us. The food was great (I had the yoga bowl with steak, super good) - the queso so tasty! Also, the apple dessert was AMAZING- warm, wrapped in phyllo with ice cream on the side. It was a great way to kick off the weekend. I'll be back!
