Alexandra B: I’ve been with Heritage Properties for approximately 6 years. I started in Lowell at Hallmark Village; I have lived in River Crossing in Tyngsboro for about 3 years.The apartment complex is so quiet! The grounds are maintained well, and Larry, who oversees things here is amazing at helping out with snow. I needed help with my car when my husband was at work ( I just had a baby! ) and he was so accommodating and kind!I love how there is ample space outside for kids to play. I’ve never had an issue with parking. I don’t call the leasing office often (probably because I have nothing to complain about lol) but when I have, everyone I have encountered has been so kind and down to earth.Most people move out of apartments because it’s less than stellar quality of living, however I am sad of the thought of leaving because I love it here so much.
Katie Pfeiffer: I'm currently in the middle of getting an apartment with this company. I'm in a sticky situation at my current place due to a terrible management company and safety concerns, and NEHP has been wonderful. Specifically Gretchen, but everyone I've talked to has been super helpful and understanding of our situation. I don't have anything to say about actually living at one of the properties yet, but I feel like this is a good omen. We even toured some apartments and they were recently remodeled and in much better shape that where we're at now. It sucks the reviews for NEHP aren't great, but it seems like people only leave bad reviews over small things.
Jeremy Anderson: I had the amazing opportunity to meet Kirsten Powers. She was nice enough to come over personally and explain rules of the lease to my friend. She was nice enough to explain to my friend, after we had been at her apartment for 30 mins at 2:00pm and we were smoking a cigar on the porch, that she could evict my friend for letting us smoke on the porch. I understand that this a rule, unfortunately she forgot this rule, and we broke it, however; threatening a single mother with eviction for this is a down right abomination. She then also reveled that she has nothing better to do but watch us carrying a case of beer and harass my friend by telling my friend that this is not that type of establishment. Somehow having coworkers, fellow Federal law enforcement officers fighting every day to control the flow of a deadly virus into our wonderful country, over to relax and have a bit of fun is frowned upon in this complex. Somehow Kirsten feels that she is an RA at a college dorm or that I am a college student living in a retirement village. I am an adult, Federal Officer and mother of two, learn respect....you are not Queen B. There is away to talk to people, that wasn’t it.
Christian Seyerle: Kirsten Powers is a terrible property manager. She is totally unprofessional and rude. She made me and my friends feel completely attacked and was hostile during our entire encounter. If the is the kind of the employee this business employs in all of its properties do not rent here!!I only gave 1 star because giving negative stars isn’t an option.
Brandon Chan: Holding Deposit $500 will not get back if you don't rent. Wish I knew better. Don't put down deposit unless your 150% certain you'll live there. Won't get money back under any circumstances.Lesson learned I guess
kime0730: We moved to their River Crossing Property 3 years ago and it was nice and quiet. There has been a bunch of changes in the management and the things we loved about the flexibility of the community changed and the things that made us love the place has quickly frustrated us. I was out of town and unable to return during the snow removal, I had not received an email stating snow removal would be Monday morning and my car was towed. I had gone out of town with potential snow storms in the forecast in the past without any issues, I did the exact same thing as those prior instances and this time it was an issue. New property manager new rules and the lot which many thought was safe is no longer safe. They state you are home with us but will cause their tenants headaches, stress and frustration. Today we were told that if we need to travel in the winter better put your car anywhere but on the property where we pay to live because it will be towed. But rest easy they have done their homework because they found the tow company that won't charge their tenants more than they have to. There should be ways to accommodate the tenant that have to travel to have keep their vehicles without issues. Not everyone has family or friends to leave keys with.

My Le: I think all the other reviews are from ppl who work there, and are blatant lies. Made appointment to see a property 2 times because the first was a no show. Upon arriving the 2nd time at 6am on a appointment there was a line of ppl waiting for an hour for someone from this property group. Waited 40 mins and no show, they clearly show the terrible efforts and capability of this management group. Even spoke to the receptionist who says this group is lacking.

Erinn Larkin: I’ve been trying to see an apartment they have listed for a few weeks. I’ve been sent the “tell us about yourself” form four time, even though I’ve already filled it out. I’ve tried calling and they never answer. I’ve received several emails telling me to fill out an application, which I will not do until I’ve seen the apartment. If they ever call to make an appointment for a showing I will not be answering.
A Toscano (Chickie T Wood): Rented from them for 3 years in Haverhill. No complaints... They're always accommodating, rent is reasonable and they respond to maintenance issues promptly enough. (Fyi, I'm not an employee as some reviewers claim positive comments are from.) Just a satisfied tenant who pays my bills and understands they have multiple places to maintain. Our trash pickup is through the city but scudder bay maintains the yard ( which isn't much, but it is what it is. Hoping the negative reviews aren't an indication of new management dropping the ball because so far they've been decent!.

AN AN: Terrible Company. Everything on these reviews are 100% true, i thought my family was the only 1 dealing with these issues. The only 5 stars on these reviews are from the employees of scudder bay. Be aware of everything on the property you rent from scudder bay, bring someone who knows what to look for, do not be so quick to get a place from them without a professional evaluation first. We had dealt with a major gas leak in our apartment right after having brought a new born home and opening the door getting hit with a wave of natural gas. We left right from opening the door and immediately called the emergency services. It was so bad the city inspector had to condemn the property. The city inspector told us it was inhabitable to live there and shouldn’t have been from the start. We could not enter to get personal items after. The inspector also stated if we fell asleep in there that night we may have not woken up. They found electrical and plumbing violations following the gas leak. We called scudder bays emergency line for several hours and got no answer, we had to sit in a car for several hours with a new born before the inspector told us he would pay to put us in a hotel. Scudder bay called the next day only to be full of grief due to the hotel we choose to stay in. It took several months for scudder bay to fix all these issues we had no food no clothes etc. 3 years after that scudder bay suddenly called and said we had to vacate for an unknown amount of time because they said the apartment had lead paint... again another really bad inconvenience for my family that lasted about a month going on to child number 2, not to mention the they told us prior that it was lead paint free. When scudder bay called us to return from that issue all of our personal belongings were covering in soot from the workers not covering anything while removing the lead paint. Last but not least the plumbing issue from years prior was revealed to be patched up and a caused a major sewage leak in the basement which again led to us having to vacate the apartment. After all the stress over and over was said and done Scudder bay decided to sell the 3 family building, having multiple strangers walk through our apartment for several weeks adding another dose of stress. Luckily we finally had to ability to afford our new home to move on from that nightmare. These are just the major problems we had dealt with, I’m not even addressing the minor ones. I feel this is very important information for everyone to know, maybe Scudder bay has or will change how they operate.

I'm a person that dosen't ask for much but when needed something done they always acted quickly and efficiently! I just want to give some recognition to scott I believe and the whole scudder bay customer service staff. You do great work and keep up the hard work.I see alot of negative in the comments and I work in customer service. I would not pass up this company because of the negative comments. Most people that leave bad comments are upset understandably and i didnt experience any of those comments being said. So that means they are reading and actively working on negative scores.Great job Scudder bay!
austin M: I inquired about a too-good-to-be-true rental listing they posted in Taunton. They barely tried to hide how shameless they are. Upon giving them all the information they needed over a period of two hours, they *immediately* told me that the rental was already taken. This felt strange to me. What a wonderful coincidence, I thought.The next day they text me back, (Who does real estate business over text? Unbelievable) and they say they will only meet to see the apartment if I email them paystubs and credit scores.That was all I needed. Who wants these heartless, soulless cretins as landlords?What they are doing is so obvious. They snatch you in at a low rate, and when they know you can afford it they will raise the rent and ignore all your plights. Typical get rich quick sharks in the business?
Mel Issa: ZERO stars. This "company" is absolutely terrible. I viewed an apartment that they had listed. I had the process started of renting and they changed the rental price on me 4 times. I was in the process once they dropped the asking price because nobody wanted to rent the apartments. Then once she got my paperwork she told me it was $250 more a month, more than the original asking price. This is after speaking with her twice on the phone right before going to the office and handing the paperwork over, and not once was this mentioned. I asked her about another listing they had and she told me that it was already rented and the tenants were moving in. Months later that same listing was still up and available. They're just interested in people they can scam and try to pinch more money out of. Unfortunately for the owners of this property, the apartments are still vacant and they've been losing money for months...probably because of the stunts they're pulling over at this "company". And I cannot find contact information for the owners. Please as an owner and potential tenant stay FAR AWAY from anything Scudder Bay!!!!

Rebekah Legassey: If it was possible to give 0 stars I would! This company is such a joke. We have lived here for 2 years and have wanted to leave since the 1st month! (Thank god our house will be finished come spring) I dont even know where to begin to explain. I've lost track of the times we have run out of Oil, waking up to a frigid apartment; or we've recieved water shut off notices for lack of payment. Both heat and hot water is included, clearly they dont stay on top of it. Trash pick up is very rarely on time, overflowing trash is to be expected here. There have been times where weeks would go by in between pick ups, leaving bags to be left on the outside of the dumpster. Attracting every wild animal in a few mile radius! (Always fun walking out to a black bear chewing through bags!) The supossed "Included Snow removel" is practically Non-existent all winter long. Our parked family car has been hit twice because of lack of snow removal in the parking lot. Their "Emergency Maintenance" line is a joke aswell, no messages ever get relayed. Calls to the office almost never get returned or documented. Numerous complaints of mold growing on supossed sealed window sills, no response. Lease renewal came around? Now they've added that mold issues are our responsibilities. Abandoned apartments have been left in APPALLING conditions. Dog feces and urine soaked into floors, trash filled in the aparment, doors left broken off hinges with Squatters going in and out. Trash and Broken glass left scattered in the supossed "Community Area" out back. Numerous calls to the board of health, Finally MONTHS later they got a crew in there.. I'm often left speachless at the complete lack of Professionalism from there employees (Especially their crews to come in to renovate apartments.. Oh my word.) I sincerely hope people that are considering renting from this company see this. Run away, far away from these people!!Most if those 5 star Reviews down there?? Yeah, their Employees. Way to go Scudder Bay!

GameMasterToro: Terrible property managers, they are basically slumlords. Maintenance is unresponsive and the company office is hostile to tenants. The property itself is infested with vermin - mice, rats, roaches, flies, and ants. Stay very far away from Scudder Bay!
Fighting Corruption (Exposing The Truth): Be leary when reviews sound too good to be true; because it usually is. Those reviews are favor reviews. Scudder Bay aka Scummy Bay, does NOT take care of their properties. The place is basically run by a bunch of kids in their 20's while the CEO Bryan Ganz is living it up on vacations and can't be bothered with an of the tenants. Once they have you, they will go up on your rent a lot; after all Bryan does need to give those kids incentive bonuses to harass you, lie to you and even steal. Must be pretty desperate to steal children's toys. Can't deny it, they were caught by the police and it's in the log. Last I knew stealing is a felony. Do yourself and your families a favor and don't ever rent from Scummy Bay.
