SouLao'd Kitchen: what do users think?
Mimi Hernandez: I was dying to go here because of pictures and reviews.Well, overall, food was ok. Chicken was dry, and noodles were flavorful. Spring rolls were good, the peanut sauce that came with it, it was more watery, and the flavor was sour and spicy, not like the typical peanut sauce elsewhere. The 1st server that took our order was pleasant, but then a younger server came to "finish" taking out an order, and an appetizer was left out. I asked her if they had Mac n' Cheese 🧀 and she said, "The lady that makes them come later."Moving forward, the table next to us was brought an incorrect order by many items. I think there were very unorganized, different servers waiting on the same table, some of them very young, they seem they were younger relatives maybe? One thing that was super off-putting was this man, which I later learned was the owner's husband. He was loud, obnoxious, unpleasant, unprofessional, and unwelcoming, to say the least.I felt if I was eating in someone's family dining room instead of a restaurant. They were gathering at the counter and not paying attention to patrons. The food was ok,not amazing.Would I go back? Probably not.
Dan Danckert: Great price. Generous portions. Wait time was reasonable. Service was friendly and the space was clean and inviting. We will definitely be stopping by again!
Helen Tocci: WOW - that was one of the best eating experiences I’ve had in so long. The food here is AMAZING. So fresh, so flavorful, so so good. This is an entirely family run business - lovely mother / daughter team who serve their grandmothers recipes and provide such a sweet community vibe. The pho was some of the best I’ve ever had and everything was was just so delicious. Our kids ate every bite and asked for more. Do yourself a favor and eat here as soon as possible!
Ash “By Ash”: Poor quality

Erik Powell: If I could give them 10 stars, I would. This place was AMAZING. From the moment I walked in they treated me as if I was family. Talked me through the menu with recommendations. The two items you see below were the BOOM!!! Go give them a shot. You won’t doubt it.Plus they are the highest rated place in Springfield. What do you have to lose? Trust me!
Bula Bob Destroyer of Worlds: Really great spot! High quality recipes and ingredients.
Ryan Swift: SouLao'd is an ideal hole-in-the-wall for amazing, authentic, Thai and Lao cuisine. The pho broth has a complex, delicious flavor and the Pad Kee Mao is subtly spicy with perfect texture to the noodles. If you're looking for a good local spot to grab Thai, I could not recommend this place more. Family run, incredibly friendly, delicious.
officialdjkruze: This family owned gem in the middle of Springfield is a place I come back to year after year. I travel to Western Mass once a year for business and seek this place out each time. Authentic Lao food made by mom herself! She also has roots in Linda Vista so big shout out for that. See you next time. Love from San Diego.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5Recommended dishes Beef Jerky …More
Kevin Le: great hole in the wall spot for a quick bite variety of different asain foods great food great service
Joshua Frank: The most delicious new cuisine I've gotten to discover! Sort of related to That but with special dishes I've never tasted before. Everything fresh, loaded with veggies, and every sauce homemade and distinct. Also, the people are super friendly and helpful in steering you to the best dishes. Except everything was a best! We are coming back for Lao's specialty, which has to be cooked in advance, Nam Khao. Don't miss this plqce!Kid-friendliness: Casual and friendly.
Kimberly Budri: Absolutely delicious food! We loved the spring rolls- they were so very fresh! The kids loved the sticky rice, meatballs and the beef with noodles 😊. The beef pho was absolutely phenomenal! What a lovely family owned restaurant.
Casiel: The food and service is amazing 🙏🏽😌
Alex Kreutter: New to the area, went off Google reviews and this did not disappoint. The family who runs this place are great, personable, and the food is outstanding! Will most certainly be back!
Jennn H: I've been craving pho for a few weeks and didn't feel like driving to my usual spot to get it so I was super excited when I found this place on doordash to deliver some to me. To my disappointment, I received a box labeled "pho" (see attached, you may have to zoom in to see the writing on the box, was actually kinda hard to simultaneously get a pic of the writing and the contents within the box) with 2 spring rolls inside. I DID order spring rolls and actually received a second box labeled as spring rolls with 2 spring rolls inside. So long in short of it, I received 2 orders of spring rolls and did not receive my pho. I contacted doordash and got my money back, so this review is a warning to the restaurant to check your orders. Highly disappointed that this had to be my first experience with them.
Kryssi Pasquarosa: This place is thee best !!! Food is super fresh and consistently delicious! Plus it is family owned. Easily our favorite spot in town to get take out.
Michelle Lesperance: The staff and atmosphere is kind and gentle. The food is yummy higher end Laos diner vibe. Feels like a family owned business.
Peter Chang: You know it's good when granny is in the middle of the action, throwing down in the kitchen! Delicious food, big portions, friendly staff. You won't be disappointed.
Celine Phommatham: Food is always fresh and amazing!! Great service and great food.
Esther Gonzalez: First time dining inside for lunch and what a welcoming place! Definitely a hole in the wall that is worth visiting. Most importantly food is extremely tasteful. 😋
Khamla Vorasane: Absolutely delicious authentic Laos food. Must try is the papaya salad, Nam koa, dry beef jerky with sticky rice. The owner and family is genuinely nice and hope more folks will discover this gem because it's worth a drive.

I can hear it flush and customers was leaving the door open.. yuck!Food was good
Elizabeth Ruppert: Not vegan friendly. Accidentally served meat. Waitress was rude when that was pointed out.Plates were melamine and greasy underneath.

Theodore Perry: You can’t go wrong here, I’ll often stop here during breaks for a quick drink. The service is outstanding and friendly, not to mention extremely knowledgeable. Overall a great establishment with quick service and fair prices, you’re going to have a hard time finding boba of this quality anywhere else.Recommended dishes House Special Fried Rice, Jasmine Tea, Pho Soup Combo, Ginger Chicken …More

M RL: I'll be honest... I love vietnamise food I've tried from different areas and all I can say is I was expecting a better "quality" (because the reviews were great) , but the broth wasn't as good as described by other people on the reviews. It was missing the aromatics and flavor. It's like they just add a lot of extra water to the broth?. Anyways, the beef was good, and the veggies were as well. The bubble tea was alright ,just a little too sweet for my taste.Another negative thing was the bathroom (bad smell/ sewer?).It was not a great experience, I guess...

William Shtefan: Really good food
Autumn Yang: food was fast, but service was horrible. the waiter was very rude and blunt. horrible customer service from him. i had to find my own toppings for my pho around the restaurant. also the food was mid. the pho wasn’t flavorful at all and had no salt. the drinks took forever to make and my drink tasted like bitter water. the waters that came when we sat down had lipstick marks on them before we drank any. i was expecting a lot from this place because of the reviews but i will not be coming back.
Bill Fabrizio: I'm pretty lenient having had worked in restaurants myself, but they had run out of Pho the night we went. The service was great, and the fallback food was very tasty, but we went for pho, and couldn't get it.It was a fluke I'm sure, but better planning when your competitor across the street is closed would be wise.
Lauren Woytowicz: some of the best food and service in the area for sure

Amber Bolaske: Food was delicious & our Chef was AMAZING, however our server was beyond rude. It was my son’s birthday & all of our first time having Hibachi & she definitely ruined the experience for us.
VivaLa GeeGee: Terrible service. Mediocre food. Waiter treats you like you’re doing her a favor by being there. Place was a dump. I’d never go back.
Joan Monts: Usually a good place. Haven’t been there for a while. Food over priced, salmon over cooked and dry, miso soup cloudy with weird aftertaste. Ordered calamari appetizer many 5-8 small pieces of calamari tasted fishy. Added gratuity in check for only 3 people. Waitress very nice, place clean. Manager kinda rude when told about salmon. “Oh you don’t want it well done?” Salmon No. will not go back.

Julissa Subervi: Food was good but our waitress was rude.
Anita Cross: We have been going there since 2014 for my daughters birthday every year because hibachi is her absolute favorite. We have noticed that every year(the service) seems to be getting worse but have stayed loyal because it is very close to us and the food has always been good. Tonight the service was the worst we have ever had. We had a reservation for 7 and arrived early. We were sat and waited for a waitress. The waitress seemed very annoyed to even be there. A couple of us ordered drinks and the other people at the table were trying to ask but she walked away. She came back and was very rude and not attentive at all. No one was asked if they would like another drink so I had to go ask for someone to come and serve us and the other people who were not even with us. The cook came and did an excellent job but the waitress was no where to be found! Finally dinner was over and I had to find the waitress to ask her for a desert for my daughter. The waitress came we sang happy birthday and not 5 minutes later the manager told us that she was sorry but we had to leave because they had to seat other people! I had already paid and left a 20% tip(that I wish I hadn’t)We spent over 400 . I spoke to the manager trying to explain how rude that was and she basically could have cared less. Our reservation was for 6 and at 720 we were told we needed to go so they could seat othersWe will never go there again! Had they had adequate service we would have been in and out like they want!! Awful!

八木キッドYagikidd: I ordered my food online and it was made on time. The food was fresh, hot and very good. The woman at the front was very polite as well.Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian options.
kayhrly3: I was blown away by how rude the main server was to our party. Everyone in our party of 14, including two 8 year old girls, noticed how bad of an attitude this woman had with us. Started right from the beginning with the drink orders. Just very short, not friendly, and you could feel her irritation with us. Then she asked us if we were splitting the check and we replied yes. She actually ROLLED her eyes, SCOFFED, and said, "well how are we going to do this!?" This was said in the most rude tone that I have ever come across in any type of customer service experience in my life. My whole party was looking around at each other, wondering what was going on. After she brought out the drinks, she like tossed the straws at us and took some of the drink menus and slammed them down into a caddy. It was so aggressive and had all of us on edge. When my 13 year old son went to order from the kids menu, she questioned his age, as we didn't realize it was for 10 and under, and she was so hostile towards him about it and he didn't even know what was going on. He told her his age and she said, "13?! No you get regular size!" I snapped back at this point and told her to give him the hibachi sides then because he didn't need a whole adult meal, as he doesn't eat half the things that come with it. Luckily the chefs and the other wait staff were very pleasant but we wanted to leave after being treated that way at the start. It was so uncomfortable and put a little damper on the reason we were there, which was to celebrate 2 birthdays. Food was decent but really not worth the price. Nothing special really. I would not go back and will not be recommending this place at all.
Steven MacKay: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Noodles and Fried Rice, SashimiMore
Alarea Dickinson: This place was not very welcoming at all. I had reserved a large group to be there and a few people were arriving late. The manager herself was having an issue with this and became very hostile towards me. She began raising her voice at me stating we need to have everyone present and that there were no exceptions. We then accepted her decision although not happy about it and when we began to sit at our table designated by her the manager, she began telling us where to sit and then began moving my coworkers belonging without her permission. After that she then told us that we could sit where we want and when I asked for clarification she began raising her voice at our whole party. She then made negative comments in regard to us being teachers so we then asked to speak to a different manager and the waitress then laughed at my face. Needless to say we left. Beware going here if you have a big group.
Y R: Awful!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!
Ravan East: After having the shrimp tempura. I IMMEDIATELY got ill and had to vomit in the bathroom. The manager was horrible. She insulted me and tried to blame me by claiming that it was somehow my fault. There was no apology or empathy. Please do not go to this restaurant! You will get sick, they will not care and charge you extra!
Ramona East: This is a terrible restaurant with bad customer service. Please do not spend your time or money here! The food is undercooked and causes food poisoning. Stay away!!
Michael Madsen: This place is fantastic. Just Hidden Gem is found in a Plaza in springfield. They have Top Notch hibachi and the service is very good. I would definitely make a reservation because they fill up very quickly. We've always had a great experience when going there.Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options offered.Kid-friendliness: There are plenty of things for a kid to see and do here. I see many families bring their children to HibachiParking: Massive parking lot. Never worry about getting parking close to the restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: People in wheelchair will have no problems getting into this restaurant
KD7INZ 58: It was an awesome place, very nice inside, the chef was very playful. And an overall Very good experience
Autumn Hines: This is normally my go to Japanese spot but I don’t think I’ll order from here again. I fully understand that food cost are rising which is reflected in the pricing but giving less food while charging more just doesn’t sit right with me. I got the Ichiban Salad as normal, but it was prepared very cheaply, less than half the amount of crab/mango/cucumber shreds and instead mixed in with a spring salad mix. Never have I ever seen it prepared this way, very disappointing. I tried something new, to me at least; the yakitori chicken. To be displeasure, it was far from grilled chicken, it was more like dehydrated, again, very unpleasant. The chicken on its own had no flavor and the peanut sauce that accompanied it was super sweet. Overall, I am not happy with this experience and will look into finding a new, more reliable and worthwhile option.
