Baystate Neurology - Springfield - Main Street: what do users think?
Emma Alexis: I have been a patient here since July. I did a telehealth call and was prescribed medication. I was told in two months I would be called back to schedule the next appointment. September comes, no one calls. I was running out of my medication and called them for a refill and asked if I am going to be scheduled soon. I’m told they can’t see me until December. I was never given a confirmation text or call and ended up missing my appointment. Now they can’t see me until almost February. I have been on this medication for 7 months with no medical advice. I am experiencing debilitating migraines and have constant neck pain. I can’t even get through to the office without being on hold for an hour. I haven’t even met my doctor. Now I am out of my medication because I was supposed to see the doctor and cannot get it authorized because I cannot get through. I wouldn’t recommend this office to anyone.
Caleb Jeffery: I'm updating my review here. I feel that they don't take there patients seriously here and if you are thinking about going here for a neurologist I recommend you look elsewhere. I spent two years and didn't see my docter. I got pushed to PA.s it's a long story. But if you want good medical help I didn't get my voice or opinion heard here. So I hope this helps pepole.
Katherine Dusenberry: There is nothing wrong with baystate it’s more the office it’s hard to get through and people don’t understand half the time. My dr is amazing been seizure free 5 yrs now…only dr that has ever helped and listened.
Jason Leper: Wife had an appointment for April 5th on April 4th got a call to remind her that the appointment was at 1 pm..drove 1-1/2 hrs there..just for the lady in the front to say they canceled the appointment...so much for urgent...
Andrew G: I have been seeing my doctor at Baystate neurology for 3 years now. Doc always listens to me and gives options to try and is honest that my condition will not be fixed, but he will make it manageable while always trying to improve. I have had l good experiences with the staff getting messages through and back within a day which I find good for any provider.
Joanne Moynihan: I do not recommend Baystate Neurology. They never return calls. We have been trying to get a diagnosis for two months and nothing. It is as if they just do not care about the well being of anyone. You can only speak with a receptionist. You NEVER see a doctor. If you are lucky maybe and just maybe an assistant will call you back. The assistant is useless.
Cassondra G.: They are AWFUL. They would not let me switch doctors away from my dr when she was dissmissive of my symptoms. I spoke to the manager and he invited me to find a provider outside of the practice when I was at Baystate specifically for centralized care. They are dismissive and abusive and I will be filing a complaint with the state on top of leaving this bad review.
Karen Larivee: They are always on time and always trying to help me best they can..

Dr. Emilio M. Melchionna, MD: what do users think?
belles palmtrees: Very sad to hear Dr. Melchionna will be retiring but so happy for him and his family. You’re the best, Doc! Thank you so much for your awesome care through the years!!! You will most definitely be missed!!! HMP 💕👏🏽
William Guyette: Dr Melchiona great neurologist excellent treatment of patients good friend. Thanks for everything
Cathy Allen: Best! Doctor I have ever had
Walt Liquor: Emilio is a great doctor always attentive and caring but the people who answer the phones are the worst they sigh while talking to you and basically act like you are bothering them when you call.it has been the same every time i needed to call there.honestly i dread speaking to them and you cant really say anything because im sure they will mess with your files or something.
Erika Santos: The doctor is very detailed and very concerned
Tom Therrien: Dr. Melchionna Is a rare breed. He is the best Doctor we have encountered in years. Not only is he a great doctor, but he truly cares about his patients. We are very glad to have met him
Aurelia Ochoa: Excellent doctor and he’s also a great listener. He takes his time doesn’t rush you out the door. I am very happy with services.
Blaise: Dr. Melchionna is always late, as much as 1.5 hours past, usually 40 minutes to 1 hour because he talks too much, takes out his laptop to discuss personal hobbies while patients are waiting- the schedule is always pushed back. I’ve talked to a lot of people who are patients of his, everyone says he’s wacky which can be great if you like eccentricity, but he has shown religious preachiness giving patients prayers for what he judges are their problems, prejudice that is misogynistic and racist or ignorant about minorities here (and Springfield is rife with blacks, Latinos, Vietnamese, etc.) deeming them like foreigners rather than Americans despite their level of education or or connection to their American national identity. He seems to be tone deaf with emotions if his prejudices are coupled with it because he is always convinced that his judgmental “intuitions” are correct. He had so much potential but screws up, and is actually quite ignorant- there’s a reason why he’s a neurologist and not a psychologist or psychiatrist! As a therapist, I recommend that people seeking psychiatric treatment may want to stay away from him or be very private and refuse his invasive questions. He’s seen suicidal patients and given them so much time and heart, but I am afraid he likely gave them this treatment to seek help through prayer, which is fine, if he didn’t judge the person as if he knew their entire situation. Over the years, people have noted he blames victims; particularly, without knowing anything, he blames sexual assault for naïveté. A patient of mine has mentioned he even blamed his wife for being felt up, and transferred this same logic to her, and remained oblivious to the fact that he was dampening the mood by bringing up negative things every time she entered the room. I used to appreciate him before I also started seeing this as well, and kept my relationship with him casual. He’s not the worst but the unprofessionality knocks down a lot of points. For a talented and mostly-sympathetic (though often misled) neurologist with so much potential, this is very disappointing. I’m surprised no one has ever commented on this and more, over the many years. I stopped seeing him a while back but the issues were consistent, and this review is about him rather than the odd, rude staff at the general office (not his personal assistant).
collen peliter & toca girl: Amazing hes my mothers nuerolagist and also mine!!
Don Schmidt: This office is terrible!!! Don't put yourself through the hassle of having to deal with the ineptitude and lack of patient empathy displayed by this office staff. They do nothing on a timely basis. My wife has MS and they couldn't process a prior authorization on time. She ended up having to go without her medication for 10 days and soon stands to lose her disability income because of their policies.
Kelly Gregoire: Dr.Melchi
M “MARO” J: Dr. Mel and Jan are wonderful; they always spend time and have a willingness to help.
Patricia Wolf: I've been a patient of Dr. Mel's for years. He is great. The office staff is wonderful. They really care about their patients.
Susan Houle: Dr. Melchionna is always professional and thorough, yet he is kind and understanding ... a nice "bedside manner". My appointments are never rushed and, if I have a problem and need to see him prior to my scheduled follow-up, there is no issue at getting a quick appointment.

Pioneer Neurology & Sleep Rani: what do users think?
Floris Wilma Ortiz: Doctor Athreya has taken care of my mom for more than a decade. She has been instrumental in managing my mom's Parkinson symptoms keeping them under control with great expertise and professionalism, authentic compassion, deep care and an amazing listener. Doctor Athreya has also provided resources and education to help guide us for mom care right here at home. My mom, at her 94 yrs is doing better than many in their 70s-80s--- thanks to the doctor for guiding us and supporting my mom in maintaining and keeping an active life. I highly recommend her. Blessings in the New Year 2022!
christine rigali: Kristie Harrington is excellent at managing my sleep disorder. I highly recommend her. The office staff however isoften rude and do not return calls or take accurate messages.
Bozo Clown: This office staff is horriable and very very rude
Monica Wilson: I came to pioneer neurology for my migraines and vertigo. Though the wait for an appointment was extensive, it is for good reason. I came in and the front desk women were very helpful, friendly and thorough. I saw Dr. Athreya and she was very nice and understanding even when certain things are hard to explain. She took her time, even though my case wasn’t as severe as most. I left with a lot of helpful information, a referral and a prescription. I will be going back in a month for a follow up.
collen peliter & toca girl: Terrible...they do not return phone calls...and are not concerned with the patients needs in regards to medication side effects..
Peggy Garber: Dr. Athreya helped our family handle a very difficult situation. Her professionalism, compassion and direct approach worked very well for our family.
Elizabeth St. John: I had neck pain for over 10years that no other Neurologist could pin point the cause. Upon her assessment she touched my neck and said I have “cervical dystopia.” She devised a care plan and I have been just about pain free for almost 2 years now! Dr. Athreya is very intelligent, compassionate, and was able to help me when no one else could. I would highly recommended her to anyone in search of a Neurologist or sleep specialist. The staff is very friendly as well, and even supplied samples when my insurance would not cover them due to a prior authorization. I know she is accepted new patients and I would go there before seeing any other Neurologist. I am very thankful for the treatment she has provided for me.
applescentyummy: Attentive, gives you her time, listens.
Donna Saia: This is the worst practice i have ever been to..the staff is extremely incompetent...if you arent pro active with your own care you wouldn't get anywhere and the dr could care less how the staff treats pts...there are plenty of other doctors to go to without having to deal with these horrible ppl..look at her ratings with other sites..theres a reason she only gets 2 stars..DO NOT GO HERE

Natasha McKay, MD: what do users think?
Angel Rosado: How can I explain it to you in a few words, your reputation speaks for itself, if I could know, before you don't let this person with a low heart, the low quality of a doctor who would have touched after the second surgery, which has turned out worse, save me, he kicked me out of his office for complaining. from the truth that I suffer more pain every day and for her that only cares about collecting surgery money from patients, do not let her touch you, look for a doctor who really cares about your health condition and not your health insurance, she discriminated against me and my health
Robert Smith: Dr. McKay has been taking care of me for years. Between my neck issues and now my lower back she's been AWESOME! The staff in her office are exceptional and very friendly.
Bob Kadis: Doing well after surgery.
Kathe Harbour: My husband needed surgery this morning to remove several pieces of a disc that had disintegrated over time. Dr. McKay was wonderful in her care for him but also in taking time to explain the problem, procedures and both pre- and post-op photos. Dr. McKay was friendly, encouraging and, most importantly, skilled at her craft. We’re looking forward to walking out of the hospital this afternoon in far better condition than when we arrived yesterday! Thank you Dr. McKay!
Maria Morales: My husband had surgery done by Dr. McKay a few days before Christmas of 2014, and the doctor was wonderful getting him in the OR and release home to spend the holidays with the family. I couldn't ask for a better provider to handle my husband care than Dr. Mckay she really is awesome!!
Chris Kuralt: Never had any problems and she is compassionate and she is good at what she does
