Paul Goodchild Ph.D., CPA: Super shoe repair and a nice man. He fixed my golf cleats better than new and had a few jokes to go with them. It's great to have someone with cobbler skills still available.Price was reasonable and work was done in less than a week. A day earlier than projected. I highly recommend.Business is cash only.

Sandy Bell: I have gone to Ace for several repairs not only for shoes. He has done work on my purses, and even re-strung my grandson's baseball glove and catcher's mitt. He does quality work. Some times I have to wait a little longer but I don't mind because of the excellent workmanship he performs. I don't know of any other shoe repair shop that re-stings baseball gloves. He is one of the last. I'm embarrassed that I can't recall the owners name but he is the BEST there is.

Marie Arnold: Nice clean shop. Although I had a strange request to shorten my boots; this experienced, talented shoe artist was able to do a great job. Very reasonable and fast.

Max Chester: I'm sure this shoe repair business is good. However, they are not very good at communicating their hours. There aren't many shoe repair places in the area and I spent about 40 minutes getting to this repair shop. I arrived a little after 1:00 and it was closed with a sign on the door saying that they would be back at 2:00. I was not going to wait around for an hour. They should put better signage out and possible put their hours on Google as they said they would be open from 8:30 to 5:00 but didn't say anything about taking an hour for, I assume, lunch.

Megan Joy: Hours are posted 8:30-5:30 however, I waited almost 2 hours during said operating hours and the door was locked. Clock on door said “return at 2pm”. I gave up and left at 2:20. During the almost 2 hours of waiting, I watched 5 others come and go, leaving the business because no one was there. Why would you operate a business, say what your hours are and not be there to service your customers? Few other people I talked to who turned and left said this wasn’t the first time they’ve come and he wasn’t there. I will NOT be returning because if he doesn’t care enough about his business, why should I?? PS: I traveled 30 min to get to him. Waste of my time!

michael gregory: A wonderful shoemaker. He does excellent work. One of the last truly great craftsman left in the area. Yes he requests a payment when you leave your work. If you intend to pick up your leather goods this should not cause a hardship. His prices are fair. He did an excellent job on my favorite shoes.

Many minor issues can be fixed without even being able to tell they were ever damaged, you'd be surprised! john power: Several years ago I purchased a pair of Chippewa boots (from Ted's Boot Shop in Northampton), all leather, Vibram sole, welt construction. I wanted a boot that would last a long time, able to be repaired unlike throw - away boots w/molded soles. Eventual the stitching that held the upper to the sole at the welt was starting to go on one. I brought it in to She-Fix, (I don't know the man's name) I asked if he needed to take the sole off to redo the stitching, he said maybe. He said they'd be ready next day. When I went in to pick up the boot, I asked how much, he shook his head and said "no cost". I couldn't believe it, I still gave him money. Looking over his repair he did have to take the sole off, replace some leather to do the repair - pretty extensive work! The repair was beautiful, perfect. He is a master craftsman, English is not his native language, he under charges for very high quality work w/skills that are a dying art form.

Christine Osterwalder: Paul's Shoe Repair is one of the best kept secrets in the Pioneer Valley. Located downstairs from Panda East, Kevin, the owner of Paul's Shoe Repair, did a fantastic job replacing the heels on my favorite boots. They looked brand new and were beautifully polished when I picked them up; I felt like I was like welcoming back some old friends! Excellent craftsmanship and well worth the $30 repair. Note: Bring cash; cards are not accepted.

Tim Mallet: He basically "restored" my Double H harness boots. They were in bad need of new souls and heels. The heels were actually worn to the point that the hard part was on an angle in the rear. With a "wedge" piece to fill in the missing material of the original heel, new souls/heels blended and polished, they look brand new again. These boots are at least fifteen + years old. Amazing craftsmanship, thank you!

I brought in a pair of boots that I bought in Italy that I absolutely cherish, but they were a little too well-loved and the heel was completely worn down. When I picked them up, the heel looked even better than when I bought them and the black leather was so shiny! I also brought in another boot with a broken eyelet and it was replaced. This place is even affordable for a broke college kid and I recommend to everyone to try to have the shoes you already love fixed instead of buying new ones. Definitely will visit in the future!
