1636 North: what do users think?
Purple Butterfly: The flavors are alright but the quality of food isn’t worth the prices. Steak tips full of fat. I’m highly disappointed
Stephen Luckingham: I don't like Mac & Cheese. My wife had me try these 9 Cheeses... I'm c9nverted, but only at this restaurant...Our server, Julie, was the owner as well... she spent time with us in a very pleasant conversation about the food they served, her vision, and general stuff going on in Springfield. We are from CT. Stumbled on this place when we decided to walk over to it from the Springfield Museum.Talk about finding a "Gold Nugget!"My nickname is "Lucky."I'LL SAY!!!My wife, Shar, and I'll be back for sure!
Thalia Ramirez: Can definitely work on customer service a little better, if I had to rate this on just the food would definitely be 5 star across the board food was delicious will definitely be going back
Tamia Jenkins: We were looking for a great place to sit and dine in when we came across this lovely place. 1636 is the place to be!!! From the food, to the ambience, the vibe, to customer service was beyond everything. Ooh and let’s not forgot… the food, was cooked with love!! Everything was absolutely amazing. We really enjoyed ourselves, we’ll be back soon! Thank you 1636 for showing us a great time!
Julianna Shuter: I was excited to try this place because the pics of the food on their social media looked spectacular, but I was disappointed. For one, EVERYTHING was very salty, not unbearable, but salty enough to not enjoy it. We also waited over an hr for the main course dishes to come out. The establishment itself was unrefined and very dark. Shaky tables and unfinished walls, it looked more of a rundown lounge than a restaurant. The waitress was pleasant, hence I gave the 2 stars.Won’t be going back.
Rondell Copeland: Great atmosphere and service is top notch. Great for a date night.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Nine Cheese Truffle Mac & Cheese, Jumbo Chicken Wings …More
Paige M: What a lucky find! Hubby and I are still arguing over if the food or the service takes the cake here. Felt like we were joining old friends for a meal cooked just for us, every bite was love. The menu is literally the perfect size with a street food vibe elevated into a new tier. We can't wait to come back. Thank you for an absolutely perfect evening. (P.s. it's BYOB, what more can you ask for?)
Shakiem Ellis: Had a date night with the wife here..it was AMAZING!!! Great food, top notch and personable service.
Tatiana Cheeks: Excellent foodExcellent serviceBest place to eat in Springfield

Miriam Pinto: Loved this place.... I had the wings from here....OMG they were soooooo good.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Nine Cheese Truffle Mac & Cheese, Deep Fried Lobster Tail, Jumbo Chicken Wings …More
kiki o: I would personally give this place 10 stars, the food was so flavorful and just amazing. The food presentation was on point. My friend and I randomly went to try it out, we did not have a reservation but they were able to accommodate us anyway which was greatly appreciated! We got the mac and cheese, lamb chops w truffle fries, and the jerk chicken alfredo. Everything was super delicious, no complaints whats so ever!!!!!! Compliments to the chef and the whole team! The music being played was also a great addition, the vibe was simply unmatched. If you’re thinking ab trying this place out, THIS IS YOUR SIGN!!!
Christine Seale: Be prepared for a leisurely dinning experience as everything is made to order. The food was so good!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Nine Cheese Truffle Mac & Cheese …More
Gary Corbett: You will not be disappointedFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Kashanna Hector: Owners were very friendly and accommodating. Location is right in the restaurant district.. Seating is limited but additional seating can be requested.Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Shawn McMahon: Was absolutely delicious, I had jerk chicken and lambDefinitely going back before I leave 😊😊🙏🏻🙏🏻
J M: A memorable dining experience overflowing with aloha at 1636 North! Though we live in the mainland now it is easy to recognize aloha and generosity and Julie embodied it and for sure, Chef in the kitchen too. Mahalo for the delish eats and great vibes. Finger licking good, slide off the bone sticky ribs- thank you! Amazing lamb chops and very tasty fried lobster tail. Lucky to snag a bottle of red too, this BYOB restaurant is a gem !
Johnnie McKnight: Great food!
Mauro Daniele: Went here for a late brunch on Sunday. Ordered "Hennessy"wings and sticky ribs for apps, and Cajun fried lobster tail with mac n cheese. Everything was fantastic! My friends had jerk chicken and salmon and both were excellent as well. The place has a really cool vibe and is named for Springfield's founding, so it's decorated with murals, photos and other decor along that theme. It's BYOB, so bring whatever you'd like to drink.
Lica Faria: I forgot to take pictures but their plating now is by far different then the pictures.I absolutely love the mango wings, the lemon pepper was really good too.My ribs and mac n cheese was above average, but my husband didn’t really like his pasta. The server was amazing, forget to ask the lady’s name.I would go back for more wings. Also, my suggestion would be updated the website and Google because all the information was confusing, we almost give up on going because said needs reservations but it won’t let me book or answer the phone. Menu is different from online as well.Keep in mind that it is a small restaurant like you see people saying in reviews. So busy days you might need a reservation, so check first anyway.Edit: believe their instagram is the best way to communicate with them and is more update on menu!
Allie Tobias: Excellent food & service! One of the owners waited on us and she was lovely ; explained their business, told us about the place & how they began - love these small businesses and how much they value customer service. We will be back!

SouLao'd Kitchen: what do users think?
Mimi Hernandez: I was dying to go here because of pictures and reviews.Well, overall, food was ok. Chicken was dry, and noodles were flavorful. Spring rolls were good, the peanut sauce that came with it, it was more watery, and the flavor was sour and spicy, not like the typical peanut sauce elsewhere. The 1st server that took our order was pleasant, but then a younger server came to "finish" taking out an order, and an appetizer was left out. I asked her if they had Mac n' Cheese 🧀 and she said, "The lady that makes them come later."Moving forward, the table next to us was brought an incorrect order by many items. I think there were very unorganized, different servers waiting on the same table, some of them very young, they seem they were younger relatives maybe? One thing that was super off-putting was this man, which I later learned was the owner's husband. He was loud, obnoxious, unpleasant, unprofessional, and unwelcoming, to say the least.I felt if I was eating in someone's family dining room instead of a restaurant. They were gathering at the counter and not paying attention to patrons. The food was ok,not amazing.Would I go back? Probably not.
Dan Danckert: Great price. Generous portions. Wait time was reasonable. Service was friendly and the space was clean and inviting. We will definitely be stopping by again!
Helen Tocci: WOW - that was one of the best eating experiences I’ve had in so long. The food here is AMAZING. So fresh, so flavorful, so so good. This is an entirely family run business - lovely mother / daughter team who serve their grandmothers recipes and provide such a sweet community vibe. The pho was some of the best I’ve ever had and everything was was just so delicious. Our kids ate every bite and asked for more. Do yourself a favor and eat here as soon as possible!
Ash “By Ash”: Poor quality
Elizabeth Lussier: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Fresh Bowl of PhoMore
Erik Powell: If I could give them 10 stars, I would. This place was AMAZING. From the moment I walked in they treated me as if I was family. Talked me through the menu with recommendations. The two items you see below were the BOOM!!! Go give them a shot. You won’t doubt it.Plus they are the highest rated place in Springfield. What do you have to lose? Trust me!
Bula Bob Destroyer of Worlds: Really great spot! High quality recipes and ingredients.
Ryan Swift: SouLao'd is an ideal hole-in-the-wall for amazing, authentic, Thai and Lao cuisine. The pho broth has a complex, delicious flavor and the Pad Kee Mao is subtly spicy with perfect texture to the noodles. If you're looking for a good local spot to grab Thai, I could not recommend this place more. Family run, incredibly friendly, delicious.
officialdjkruze: This family owned gem in the middle of Springfield is a place I come back to year after year. I travel to Western Mass once a year for business and seek this place out each time. Authentic Lao food made by mom herself! She also has roots in Linda Vista so big shout out for that. See you next time. Love from San Diego.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5Recommended dishes Beef Jerky …More
Kevin Le: great hole in the wall spot for a quick bite variety of different asain foods great food great service
Joshua Frank: The most delicious new cuisine I've gotten to discover! Sort of related to That but with special dishes I've never tasted before. Everything fresh, loaded with veggies, and every sauce homemade and distinct. Also, the people are super friendly and helpful in steering you to the best dishes. Except everything was a best! We are coming back for Lao's specialty, which has to be cooked in advance, Nam Khao. Don't miss this plqce!Kid-friendliness: Casual and friendly.
Kimberly Budri: Absolutely delicious food! We loved the spring rolls- they were so very fresh! The kids loved the sticky rice, meatballs and the beef with noodles 😊. The beef pho was absolutely phenomenal! What a lovely family owned restaurant.
Casiel: The food and service is amazing 🙏🏽😌
Alex Kreutter: New to the area, went off Google reviews and this did not disappoint. The family who runs this place are great, personable, and the food is outstanding! Will most certainly be back!
Jennn H: I've been craving pho for a few weeks and didn't feel like driving to my usual spot to get it so I was super excited when I found this place on doordash to deliver some to me. To my disappointment, I received a box labeled "pho" (see attached, you may have to zoom in to see the writing on the box, was actually kinda hard to simultaneously get a pic of the writing and the contents within the box) with 2 spring rolls inside. I DID order spring rolls and actually received a second box labeled as spring rolls with 2 spring rolls inside. So long in short of it, I received 2 orders of spring rolls and did not receive my pho. I contacted doordash and got my money back, so this review is a warning to the restaurant to check your orders. Highly disappointed that this had to be my first experience with them.
Kryssi Pasquarosa: This place is thee best !!! Food is super fresh and consistently delicious! Plus it is family owned. Easily our favorite spot in town to get take out.
Michelle Lesperance: The staff and atmosphere is kind and gentle. The food is yummy higher end Laos diner vibe. Feels like a family owned business.
Peter Chang: You know it's good when granny is in the middle of the action, throwing down in the kitchen! Delicious food, big portions, friendly staff. You won't be disappointed.
Celine Phommatham: Food is always fresh and amazing!! Great service and great food.
Esther Gonzalez: First time dining inside for lunch and what a welcoming place! Definitely a hole in the wall that is worth visiting. Most importantly food is extremely tasteful. 😋
Khamla Vorasane: Absolutely delicious authentic Laos food. Must try is the papaya salad, Nam koa, dry beef jerky with sticky rice. The owner and family is genuinely nice and hope more folks will discover this gem because it's worth a drive.
