Casey Lu: By far one of the best bike shops in the area. The back rack of my bike had come off and I needed to get it put back on and didn’t realize how much a hassle it was going to be. The first bike shop I went to said any bike place was having trouble getting parts and I would have to buy an entirely new rack because they couldn’t replace the one piece connecting the rack to my bike. The second shop I called and they assured me they had a range of rack types for me to get a new rack put. But when I arrived they didn’t have any of the model that I need. So finally, I came to family bike and sport and they were able to use my old rack (didn’t have to buy an entirely new one) and had great turn around time despite being understaffed. Saved me a lot of money in the end. So glad to have found this place

Brian Dyke: I took my 10 year old son here to buy his first bike. They had a huge selection, but my son immediately liked the first bike that the friendly sales rep brought out for him. They have a nice open parking lot and let my son give the bike a test-ride to make sure he liked it and even helped adjust the seat to the proper height.The bike ended up being a little cheaper than I was expecting to pay, so their prices are very fair for a high quality bike. They had tons of bikes there for adults too.When my 8 year old is ready for his first bike, I will absolutely coming back here to buy him his. I might bring in my old bike here too as I saw they have some "Tune Up" services.

Took my bike to competitive edge. They only took 5 days. And said the tire and cable was fine. They are extremely rude.

Monica Mesenger: Horrendous customer service!!I decided that I wanted to take up biking, so I stopped into Family Bike & Sports this afternoon because I heard they were "pretty good." My intention was to ask questions in order to figure out which type and kind of bike would suit me the best, and possibly order one if I found something that impressed me.There were 3 staff members when I entered the shop, and no other customers, so I mistakenly thought that I would get halfway decent customer service. The millennial that spoke to me ended up being rude, condescending, and unhelpful. He initially offered to help me, so I explained what I was looking for... He pointed out a bike, and began talking about the bike in slang terms that I didn't understand. When I asked for clarification of terms, he told me that the bike was "high-end" and already spoken for. I said that was okay, I was still trying to figure out what kind of bike would be best for me. I wanted a bike that I could ride around the neighborhood, on bike paths and maybe some light trails... I wanted to know which type and size of bike would be best for me. He told me that they had none available, they only had "high-end" bikes for like $600 and $950. ??? I never mentioned price, because I don't know what price has to do with terrain. As I was leaving, the other employee rolled his eyes at me. I was fuming as I drove home...

Nutty Professor: Went in thinking I needed a new rear tire and was prepared to leave the bike for a few days. Staff person said oh the tire looks fine, you just need a new innertube. 10 minutes later done. I appreciated them treating me not like a novice, which I am. I don't know why you would go anywhere else for your bike needs. I then out of curiosity asked how much the fat tire bikes cost, and he told me and then offered to let me ride one. Total class, service and excellence.

Jillian Chiaro: I went in to have air put in the tires of my stroller. I had my two infant sons with me and the gentleman who helped me went to the parking lot to get the stroller for me. He let me know 3 tubes needed replacing and he was able to get it done super fast. He was friendly and very helpful. Would absolutely recommend this place!

They had us fitted and even though the size was accurate the fit was not. So the guy helping us brought out options for us to try and we were able to find the perfect boot! They offered us suggestions on adjusting them after trying them out if we ran into any discomfort or issues. He was very knowledgeable on the equipment and was just all around patient and helpful! We left there feeling much better about the stuff we bought and the best part was that these boots were close to 1/2 the price and much nicer! Definitely worth the drive to come out here to get what we need from now on!

Leon Stechenberg: I purchased an electric bike (Aventon pace 500) 7 months ago and was very pleased with the bike and the people at new horizon bikes. when I used the bike this spring the battery was very difficult to remove so I went to the bike shop on a Saturday and the owner immediately worked on the bike but could not get the battery to fit in the compartment with easy removal. He tried a new battery and it was perfect. No questioned asked, he traded the original battery for a brand new one. This review is to notify the public on what a gem this bike shop is and to rave about the owner and his crew.

God Aura: Good bike shop for modern bikes not for bmx unfortunately. Brought my bike in for new chain + brake pads. Came home with a bike that makes more noise than I brought it in with when I turn the crank arm. Paid to fix one problem but have another one created. Please use this information and test your the bikes before they are returned.

Andrew Seeberg: Its a pretty good bike store and i bought a bike i really like there. My only complaint with the experience is when i went back a year later for repairs and a tune up. My derailleur had broken off and they got that taken care of although im pretty sure all they would have needed to replace was the mounting bracket. But what can you expect from anywhere these days😕so i was fine with that. But i also said to go over the whole bike and that the back brakes were bad. When i got it back it had a new chain for some reason and the brakes werent touched. Pretty sure i payed about a hundred extra for things that didnt need to be done and my brakes are still bad. It is a nice family run place though

Norman Bronner: I've lived in Palmer for almost 11 years now and Chris and Sue have become almost like family because in the 11 years I've called Palmer home I've brought in some odd bikes for repairs or just to get parts and I admire Chris because a few times he told me he didn't want to work on it because I had a low end bike or he didn't want to take my money and say he repaired what I gave him and not do what he said but he always offered me advice on what to do because I'm very skilled at fixing things myself and he even gave me friendly challenges a few times and his honesty is top notch and Sue may just look like your average run of the mill cashier but don't let her looks fool you because shes got just about the same amount of knowledge as Chris and together they make a good bike shop and one I go to often because I can be rough on my bikes and I can't always repair the damages I've done and if they are open they are the first place I call for parts and or advice on what I should do

Abasindi: Green Light Bicycle Shop located in Belchertown Ma , is a very high quality, reasonably priced, very fast turn around , veteran owned , establishment.I had my bicycle repaired at Green Light on the same day, with less than one hours notice from my initial call of help to the owner— so this was important to me since all of the other bike repair shops in the Springfield Mass area told me that my bike had to be dropped off and that there was a 2+ week wait time for just a diagnostic quote and potentially more time for the actual repair to be made.The owner of Green Light Bike Shop is very pleasant and provided a very reasonably priced bike repair service to me .I sincerely and HIGHLY recommend Green Light Bike Shop for all of your bicycle repair needs and if you are in Springfield Mass, you definitely will not regret making the scenic 20 minute drive to Belchertown .
