David John: I decided to grow a beard for the first time in my life starting this last February, I had 2 other barbers before I made my first appointment with Jose, let me tell you the other 2 supposedly great and I am sure they are but Jose at Motley Crew was so far above the others, I told him I tried to trim it myself and messed it up, he looked at it and listened to what I said and went to work, the care and professionalism was far above the other barbers. Also the vibe in the entire shop was clean and just a great experience, all of the barbers were busy and I felt very comfortable and again the vibe was great, everyone of the clients I saw come in and go out looked great.

Mike Reniere: I hate to write a bad review about this place but I cant help with how my recent experience was. After extensive research of a barber in the Worcester area I landed here and booked a haircut with Mya. Mya is good at what she does but I'm not sure what happened at my last visit.I had a little longer than shoulder length hair and made it very clear what I wanted and how I wanted the haircut to look in the end. I showed multiple pictures (black and white picture attached to this review) and explained in detail exactly what I wanted. Which was a low fade and to keep a lot of length on the top to just sit and style slightly to one side. I made sure it was clear how much I wanted off the top.The fade on the back and sides looks great, but the top was cut a lot more than I had asked for. Even after giving detailed a description and making sure we were on the same page. The cut is very far from the desired result and it makes me feel like growing my hair out long was a waste of multiple months when im back to square one after one cut. I attached a picture of the result to this review as well. The top is about an inch max in length when it was probably 9-10 inches before the cut.Service:Haircut

The Spotlight Series TV: We were in Worcester, Massachusetts for a wedding. My husband needed his head shave because we forgot his shavers at home. Well Axe to the grind lives up to their name. I have never felt my husband head so smooth. We now have a place for him to go to get that bald head clean if ever we are back in Massachusetts. Thank you to the whole staff.
Michael Laks: I went to Axe to Grind for a beard trim on my full but scraggly beard, I asked the barber to clean it up a bit and line up the top. He didn't seem to have much experience working with full beards and spend more time trimming the hair around my ears than trimming my beard (He didn't do any cleaning up on the length or hairs that were sticking out). He then brought the bottom of my beard in way too tight, to the point where he removed all the fullness from the bottom and ruined a beard I've been growing for 5 months (to the point I went straight home and shaved it off). He also gave me an insane amount of razor burn while shaving my face, didn't use any shaving cream while using the straight razor, and then to top it all off actually cut my cheek with the straight razor. I am very disappointed in my experience at this barber shop. It looks like a nice place and if you're going to have a standard haircut or a fade or something done it seems like they'd do a good job, but if you have a long beard and want it trimmed, DO NOT GO HERE. The barbers were friendly and professional, but I still will definitely not be going back.Service:Beard trim

P C: What's the use of a barbershop that doesn't accept walk-ins. I've got my hair cut here and it's came out anywhere from needs to be fixed to amazing but I won't bother. You walk in and there's 4 people sitting in their chairs texting. Nobody's got time for a cut though. So you walk back out with your 50 bucks.

So this is my second attempt to make an appointment, the first time they canceled with no explanation. I did decide to give it another shot seeing that it was highly recommended.My second time was another disaster. I booked online which was a good convenience. Then they had to change the time. All done through text which I expressed should have really warranted a phone call.Then at 8:30 pm I get a text (yes a text) to move my appointment again. I understand stuff happens and it did as the barber had car troubles. I had to decline due to an event that I had during that time frame.I just declined. The fact to move it abs change it abs cancel it being a first time customer kind of sucked and it was the second time.Now comes the most professional part. The owner texted me and these are the attachments to the thread!!Still no phone call! It is amazing to truly think that the owner wanted to reach out but couldn’t take the time out to pick up the phone.Texting it great but when it comes to business it’s a NO for matter that need attention. Hope they learn a quick phone call could have solved this but I wish them the best!

Maya S: My son has been a customer for almost 8 years. Luis became his regular barber and also a friend. The atmosphere is always friendly. Barbers interact with each other and clients. Funny light jokes, some music. Deshawn put a very solid crew together. Not sure if everyone knows, but these guys provide free haircuts for homeless and kids for low family income before the school year starts. Dana's barber shop hooked her up with EXACTLY what she wanted today even though its a barber shop for men and boys. Thank you so much Dana's. I also came here a few days ago with a very difficult 11 yr old boy and it was his first haircut that he actually smiled after. They are super good with kids. You can make an appointment online to avoid a wait. This is my new fav place and hubby is next.
