Within minutes of his arrival, the technician diagnosed the problem and promptly went about installing a “new set of eyes” for the door. The door, once again, performed flawlessly. I also found it hard to believe that the door was installed twenty years ago!

Laura DiBenedetto: From what I understand, this business is under new ownership. The new owner's name is Jeff, I believe. Nice fellow.Anyway, I called them to service the garage door opener that was in my house when I bought it. They sent a guy over, who "tried" to fix it, and for whatever reason, did or could not. So then he offered to sell me a "refurbished" unit instead of a new one at a discounted rate, with a one year warranty. I appreciate saving a few bucks, so I went for it.Skip ahead to two months later, and the unit won't work. The door opens but refuses to close. I call the guy that put it in to make good on that one year warranty, and his phone isn't working. I called, texted, and couldn't get in touch with him. Peeved, I called the company back and tried to track down the guy. He had been fired, apparently, and he'd been up to no good with other customers. Yikes.So, now I'm stuck with a machine that I don't know where it actually came from, it's broken, and I've already spent $$ to try and resolve the problem, and not really up for buying another new one. The following is why these folks get a 5 star rating from me.I called, and ended up speaking to someone in the Leominster office, and gave them all the history. I wasn't sure what, if anything, they could or would do, but I didn't know what else to try, so I talked to them and told them what happened.Someone called me later from the Worcester location called me and told me that they were going to take care of me, and send a tech out to my house and to fix the machine (which was probably stolen from them). Honestly - who does that??!?! Like nobody! I really appreciated that they cared THAT much about their relationship with me to go the extra five miles.Skip ahead, skip ahead - the machine is fixed, and a very wrong was turned into a very right.I'll happily refer and do business with them for years to come. This was exemplary treatment, in a situation that wasn't that great for them, and where they didn't HAVE to do anything for me. Thumbs way up.

Louis Davis: Very professional from start to finish, I would definitely recommend, especially if you have an odd installation like mine.I have an old detached garage that was converted to a potting shed, that I wanted back as a garage. It was especially tricky, as the garage floor was on a slope, and the original opening had been enclosed, so it would would need to be roughed in. There were also a couple beams in the area where the opener would be installed that might be in the way.Dave F., the sales manager had a great grasp of the challenges and indicated that they could do the entire job including rough-in, door and opener. I was especially impressed when he recommended that they could install overhead rails that go on a slant that followed the slope in the floor, to maintain clearance with the top of the car.I got 3 other quotes, and none of them would do the complete job or offered the custom installation required. Two of them never even looked in the garage, and one was better, but referred me to a separate contractor for the rough-in. They were all price competitive, except for one that was 4x higher than the rest (the Costco buying program, ugh).The install was delayed a couple of weeks due to installer illness, which is understandable during December. They were good at letting me know about the delay a day ahead of time.Greg S. was the installer and he showed up right on time, wore a mask while we talked and did a great job on the rough-in and installation. It was pretty tricky, as he had to fit the garage door opener rail under one beam, then over the other beam. It was a tight fit, but he made it work. It was a beautiful job.Tina takes care of the billing and did a good job of taking the deposit and sending the final bill. This was all done by phone/credit card to save time. There was one small problem with the final bill, which was quickly resolved.I've had the door for about a month and am very happy with it. I recently mentioned to Dave F, that since it's a detached garage it would be nice to have an outside keypad, and he was good enough to drop one off recently. Again he went above and beyond in service.Thanks again.

Blake Aboody: I was able to schedule a free estimate a couple days after I called. The person showed up on time and was very professional. He asked me what I wanted to replace and gave me some options. 30 mins after he left I received a quote with multiple options that were less expensive than the style I was looking at. They also provided before and after photos of the garage door with the different options so I could see what the different garage doors would actually look like. I chose the option I wanted. They were able to install within 4 weeks when all other companies were 8-12 weeks out. They got it all done within a few hours. They were also the cheapest option of all the estimates I received.To recap, they came the fastest to provided a quote, they are technologically advanced enough to superimpose the new door on a photo of my existing door so I could see how it looks before committing, they were able to get materials and install the fastest and they were the least expensive for a better product than other estimates I received.Door Systems of Worcester is a great company.

It was little weird, they Just came in and told me it's completely broken and I need a new door."I called the other company and they fixed if for $400. Now it works like a new.Lady on the phone was very nice tho, but over all it's just an another company who tries to make money off of honest customers.

Vincent Ruggiero: Mike and crew came a few weeks ago and replaced our two very inefficient garage doors and it was absolutely perfect. Wish the day was a bit warmer but felt like I knew Mike for years going back to when we first met back in June when he gave us the estimate and product suggestions and was very clear what work would be done. Mike is a man of his word and everything he promised to be done was done. The 16 to 18 week lead time to order the doors flew by but it was worth the wait. My wife and I want to thank Mike, crew, and Nicole (who is an extreme pleasure to deal with back at the office) for a great painless experience from beginning to end. Thanks again! We love the new doors...and the app to open them remotely 😀

Jorge Brady: I had a driveway gate that didn't work anymore so I called them. Friendly phone service and very prompt availability. When the technician arrived he took one look at the machine & put his hands on the machine once 'to listen to it' and declared that I need to replace it and that it would cost about $3,000. I told him that I wanted to see if there was a quicker and cheaper solution and he said 'no', it is damaged in such a way that the only way would be to spend $3,000 to replace it (remember, he diagnosed this by putting his hand on the box). I sent him on his way. Next day I called another service (Signature Garage Doors), who came by the next day. They opened the box, saw that there was a broken chain. Replaced the chain and all was fixed. For $195 !! Thank you Independent Garage Doorsfor the great service. Not so much Genesis. Shame on you!

Deborah Gancarz: My father in law needed his garage door serviced. He had been using a competitor for many years, but the last time wasn't satisfied with the quality of work. We called IGD and Vincent came down the next day. A wonderful, knowledgeable, informative and personable professional who explained everything that he was doing and why. A few parts weren't the right ones that were previously installed and he explained exactly why. Vincent corrected every issue and the invoice was a lot less than we imagined. Matthew Ehrlich: If I could give 6 stars I would. Any of these reviews that are below 5 have to be a Google Bot just trying to lower the rating on these guys. I have used them for a few years. Replaced both of my doors one year, then a few years later I damaged a door. Nicole was on the phone with me immediately, and Mark showed two hours later and fixed the door. Proceeded to order the replacement, and was real honest about getting pieces or the whole door. Great service, great people, fair pricing, totally deserving of your business.

Stacey Williams: Horrible!!! They have a lot of scheduling changes! They have no idea what they're doing. There is nothing further to say. Look for a smaller garage door company. They need to spend more money on employee training.

Amy Barros: An appointment was made for a garage door motor to be installed. Competitive cost and was promised a speedy install the following week. It was originally supposed to be installed on a specific day, however that appointment was postponed because of delays caused by other jobs. Cancelled again with a phone call barely 15mins before he was meant to come. There were a lot of tasks that day, and it appears that you were forgotten, according to the call center. They've offered to reschedule...but how can I be sure it won't happen again? Disappointed.

Bill Strohsnitter: I cannot say enough about the quality of the service that I've received from Mark and Co at Independent Garage Doors. They installed two new garage doors at my former house at more than reasonable pricing. They came by when they said that they would and did the job completely with expertise that can only come from the experience that one gains for being in the business for as long as they have. My experience with Independent was duplicated when I lost service in one of my garage doors at my new place. Mark quickly evaluated the problem that was not simple and got me back in business for, again, a more than fair price. Please do yourself a favor and call Independent if you need garage door installation or service.

Karen Overton: Not impressed. I contacted this company in order to obtain some parts to repair my garage door. I sent them a photo and description of the part required, then followed up with another call to see if they got the details. They confirmed that they had received the details and got told, they will get onto it that afternoon. Well 4 days later, still no reply and not holding out hope. I won't be recommending this company to anyone.

George DeMarco: Fair pricing, excellent prompt service, IGD exceeded my expectations from first phone-call to completion. Communication from the office was first rate and Mark Dow knows garage doors and how to fix and service them. In addition to fixing the broken door he examined the other door and made a few preventative tweaks and suggestions. I would not hesitate to employ IGD again and highly recommend them.
