Ashlee Procacini: Peterson Oil has serviced our home since 2016. Since then, we’ve paid for their ultimate service plan, and for our unique situation it has saved us money. Upon move-in, our oil tank sprung a leak and Peterson removed the old tank and installed a brand new tank, all covered by the service plan. Last year, Peterson remedied an oil smell in our basement by adjusting out direct venting. This year, Peterson replaced a couple of valves and the coil in our tankless Peerless boiler, again covered by the ultimate service plan. In between, we’ve also had several small repairs and annual tune-ups, which are included in the service plan. The technicians know what they are doing and typically resolve issues the first time around. Even though it can take some time connect with the office staff, they are friendly and help with your needs. Peterson has served us well for 7 years.
Patrice Harrington: Ordered and paid up front for oil on the Tuesday before Christmas (Sunday) and was told it would be delivered by Friday. Friday evening I called back because the oil was not delivered and they said it would be delivered Saturday. Saturday came and went and surprise!!! No oil was delivered! It’s now been a week and I’m on hold because I still haven’t had my oil delivered. This place is terrible. You shouldn’t have to wait 7 days after paying to get oil. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Eunice I: I am in utter disbelief at the sheer rudeness of the employees they have representing Peterson Oil. I recently relocated back to my Mother’s home and this is the company she’s used for as long as she’s lived in the home, so in order to keep things consistent, I decided to continue business with them, but after today I’m seriously reconsidering taking my business elsewhere. To begin, Diane, their office secretary is highly condescending and dismissive over the phone as I tried to explain to her that I ran low on oil and most likely would need a primer and oil delivery. She initially told me that I would need to pay over the phone before a service could be scheduled which is a lie as I’ve had Peterson deliver oil several times in the past, and I’ve often paid the technician directly. Secondly, she chastised me that it’s a hassle for service technicians to come out for priming, but last I checked that is their job and why they are there. It’s not her place to lecture me on the phone. Thirdly, when I ordered 100 gallons of oil two months ago, the price was a little over $400. Today, the same price for 100 gallons is $530!! Just in the span of two months!! I expressed shock at this, and she was very nonchalant, even suggesting I call around to other businesses which I told her I would, but that was very inappropriate and insensitive of her in this economic climate to suggest I take my business elsewhere. Most customer representatives try to at least show some empathy and understanding. When I mentioned, I would arrive to my house by a specified time, she called me ahead of that scheduled time to reprimand me that the service technician was waiting outside even though I told her when I would arrive home by. She overly emphasized to me to make sure I had my payment ready when he arrives, with the implication being I may short them. In all the years, my mom used them for service, there was never an outstanding balance.To make matters worse, when I finally arrived back at my house, the service technician(Driver ID14) hops out of his truck, doesn’t greet me, and barks if I have the $580! I was appalled at such service. I actually had to let him know his approach was very rude and condescending, and he would be paid after service was completed. He made sure to let me know he’s been working for 25 years with Peterson, yet he struggled for almost a half hour to get the newly purchased boiler to turn on. This is horrible service all around, and Peterson may need to invest in training their employees in customer service before they lose valuable customers.
SibeMom18: I had my oil burner yearly cleaned in August 2022. I had Peterson fill late Sept/Oct & didn't have sys running til 1st week of Oct due to Thermostate change! System ran for 40+ days with Peterson's product and I awoke to a freezing house & furnace not working. Called local highly recommended person to help! He took out rod showed me the extreme gunk build up from Peterson oil product! Cleaned it up, changed filter & 1hr+ later furnace not working again. It's Peterson oil, I showed workman Peterson receipt & his response Peterson mix is beyond too high! Seriously Peterson 40+ days. FYI to all find a better co! I hope my furnace will recover! .........

John Hall: Torre thanks for bringing this to light again, I left them over a year ago and haven’t had one issue since after having multiple breakdowns each year, most of which required waits of 10+ hours for service. Anyone considering this company should watch the I Team story on WBZ website, they have been following this company for years and the owner will no longer speak to them to address the complaints. The Better Business Bureau has dropped their accreditation for this company. Buyer beware, caveat emptor.
Torre Mastroianni: Here is Biodiesel “oil” they put in my tank. This caused my boiler to stop working. 18 hours with no heat and hot water is not anything I wish anyone to ever endure in the winter. When they pumped my tank out they tried to say the oil looked thick because of it being cold out. I showed two boiler techs outside of Peterson the pictures and they said there is no way oil should ever look that way even in freezing temperatures. I’m still waiting on my refund for the bad oil. Instead of rectifying the situation right away they send me a bill instead for the service call. If I could give them zero stars I would.
Matthew Labbe: Always delivered in a timely manner and never had any issues with ordering, but they mix such a large amount of bio-fuel into the oil that we have had nothing but issues keeping our furnace on this winter. It's recommended no higher than 20% biofuel to be mixed in to keep your furnace running smoothly, then on your receipt you will notice they mix in anywhere between 45% to 85%.

Hugo A: Big mistake.. We asked Peterson oil to check our oil furnace as a preventive maintenance for the winter in October. The furnace was running but the guy who came out played with the thermostat cables then left.. then The heat was just on continuously...They had 3 different people come out to look and started to charge us weekend hours etc... We ended up paying $1000. Then 2 moths later the boiler failed. They charged us $140 to go out and say.. "The boiler in rough shape and needs to be replaced".Why they did not say that when they asked us to pay for the maintenance few months ago???Since it was middle Feb with freezing temperatures.. I kept calling them to send me quotes to replace or repair.. they kept promising me but nothing was sent I had to hire another HVAC company. I will never use Peterson oil for oil nor repairs..
Phuong Dao: The oil service very bad. I can’t sleep when I think about it although it happens a few weeks ago. I pay 129$ to fix the problem and it still happens exactly again. Unfortunately it happens on Sunday I call them and the man said it was normal but it not. My husband feel angry because he’s afraid the oil will be broken if he do nothing. Finally he use the tool to try to fix . The reason is find out very easy. But I still hate the way the service the did to me. The way the make money easy but they refuse to fix it. They will lost 1 customers. it is nothing for them but for me I think I learned a lot from it. That why I have to write mine review to all customers will be with them. Bill B: My boiler needs to be tuned to an -exact- mixture of fuel (#2 now), it will NOT work correctly with wildly different mixtures. The people running Peterson Oil refuses to acknowledge this! They mix their 'new' batches of fuel however they want! NO standard.They even filled my tank, WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE, with fuel that would not even start in my boiler!I get different and even contradictory information from everyone I talk to there, technicians, office, delivery....everyone.Over 68yrs with Peterson, and I have never had these problems before.

Jay Zel: I have been struggling with this horrible economy and i went to order propane and CK only does minimum of 100 gallons.. UNLESS you are almost full and dont need the 100 gallons. they wont let me order 50 gallons. So I guess my family and i will eat cold food, wear dirty laundry and have no showers until we have 640 dollars to buy the full 100 gallons. They wouldn't even let me pay half now and half next week! Thanks CK Smith for providing outstanding service for your customers. its unprecedented!

Bob Dee: Recently had the bearings on my furnace blower replaced, it had been screeching and keeping me awake at night for over a year. CK had done some work previously but it only was a temporary fix. I held off on the replacement because I couldn't afford it. When it was finally repaired, CK did it for free. They are absolutely great and I have been with them for over 50 years. They always provide a fair deal and excellent service.
John Dowd: I discovered recently that I didn't receive my yearly maintenance service call, though I pay every year for the service contract, and that it was my fault for not calling CK Smith. That seems a backward way to do business to me! I paid for a service I did not get.

Lorraine Kanter: Peter was very thorough and friendly/professional. While doing my annual boiler tune-up, he discovered that I needed a new oil pump as there was a leak inside the burner after troubleshooting cause. He changed it out, as part of his visit, along with usual tune-up parts. Unfortunately, there was also a problem with the fuel supply line (cracks in it) that were not known at the time. The following business day, Ed came out, and after additional troubleshooting, swapped out the supply line part and also changed out the nozzle and oil pump again. No more leaks! Friendly techs! As this was my first tune-up service as a new customer, it was even nicer as my service plan was free, and all parts and labor covered at no cost to me!

flecour1016: Doug was our technician for our yearly furnace maintenance today and he was *wonderful*. Super-friendly, super-efficient, professional, and very pleasant to deal with. We've always had great service from all the CK Smith technicians, but Doug stood out today. He recommended replacing a part that wasn't covered by our service contract (the name of which I can't recall) but it's an integral part of having our furnace run efficiently and it was showing signs of wear and tear after 21 years. We truly appreciate his pro-activeness in doing so, and also greatly appreciate only having to pay for the part (a nominal cost), and not the labor to install it. A middle-of-the-night call to do so would cost much more as he advised, so it was wise to replace it now.We're going to request Doug as our technician for the yearly maintenance from now on. Suddenly today I spoke with a man called Tony claiming to be the manager in Worcester MA. He was very Rude and shortcoming with me, I tried to inquire about this sudden poor customer service, he intimidated me into backing down from my position and he refused to listen to my concerns, he then said go find another company if you don’t like our way. WHAT?? I am unhappy and disgusted. Finding another oil company is easy, but losing a loyal customer is Stupid.

Maribeth Lynch: We had what we thought was no heat early on a Saturday morning. We placed a call to Pioneer and a pleasant girl answered and assured us someone would call back shortly. Within minutes, Ben called and we talk through the issue. He said he would be there in 20 minutes, and sure enough he was! It ended up that our tenant had turned off the oil switch, so what could have been a real no heat call, was really just a waste of time for the poor technician. But, he handled it in stride, was so easy to deal with and wonderful I can not even express our thanks to him. In a world of grumpy people, who are dealing with so much stress, Ben was the epitome of professional. He has worked on our boiler in the past, and has always been prompt, knowledgeable and polite. Thank you so much for providing 5 star service, we greatly appreciate it!

Amy Pietrewicz: Very disgruntled customer after nearly twenty years. Joe from Pioneer gave me a highly inflated quote for a new boiler. I used a competitor instead, but kept Pioneer for oil out of loyalty. When the Pioneer tech came to service the brand new boiler, the nozzle was adjusted to use more oil, he spilled oil on some items, and broke the gauge on my oil tank--none of which Pioneer will own up to or repair now. They also never notified me they were using such a high percentage of biofuel, which gummed up the readjusted nozzle and caused the brand new boiler to leak out and flood my basement during a cold snap last winter. The customer service staff that answers the phones are not helpful and I have been "dumped" as a customer after filing a complaint with the BBB.

jesse travers: I have used DiLeo Gas for about 5 years and whether it’s calling for a refill or getting some service done they simply cannot be beat. Recently we needed our tanks filled and moved due to new electric box being installed for solar panels, the tanks got filled prior to the move and the techs (Kenny and Bucky) made no qualms about it. They simply got the job done, ran a new beautiful line and got my tanks leveled and in a safe area. This is all within 24 hours of a phone call. If you’re in the central Mass or Northern CT area I would only recommend them.
Leo Kremer: Russ Wright and DiLeo gas delivered as promised. I have been in contact with them for over a month when i decided to convert from oil to propane. Russ walked me through the process and explained all the costs associated. On the day of my furnace install, they were here installing my new propane tank and then it was filled a half hour later. It was a seamless transition.

diana wentworth: I was away in Spain when the cold snap came and was worried that our propane furnace backup for our Lennox heat pump would run out of propane. I emailed to get a fill up . I immediately got a response although it was too cold to deliver. They delivered on a Sunday a day ahead of my ticketed Monday delivery. I was thrilled . There was an admin error where I was supposed to be on automatic delivery vs will call .I'm on will call Spring/Summer as well as the small 50 gal in the front all the time and then go automatic with the 2 big tanks on the side of house when I call back in the Fall.It was taken care of and tanks were filled fairly prompt.
Kevin Roach Jr.: Literally the only propane supplier that have refused to fill my tanks. I had 3 30 lb tanks told me it's against the law. I have my Hazmat and I also am very familiar with the law and it is exactly 90 lb limit in an enclosed vehicle. Needless to say I won't be going back. I guess that's what I get for trying to find a place on my way home and not sticking to what I know.
James Gauvin: Excellent service, never left waiting to long for a delivery. Reminder on checking the anode on my underground tank was much appreciated. 5 star company all around.
Vinny Huynh: Built our new home a few years back. Our builder installed a propane tank underground and told us to buy propane from DiLeo. I setup an account and called them each time we ran low. They always delivered within a day or two. Being here a few years now they know my usage so they have me scheduled for deliveries automatically. No issues at all and it is convenient to just pay the bill online. What is there not to like?
Nathan Brodeur: We recently purchased a new home in Putnam Connecticut that had a propane tank from this company. I was very unfamiliar with propane up until this point. I called their customer service and they were excellent to deal with. They answered every one of my questions and guided me through the billing process. I called for my first delivery on a Friday and they were here the next morning. I would recommend this company to anybody in the area.

RONALD FANEUFF: Al's oil is there when you need them. My wife has alzheimer's and my hot water wasn't coming on. She has a personal aid come in every morning and give her a bath about 11am.I called Al's Oil close to midnight and left a non urgent message. Al's oil was here 1st thing in the morning and fixed the problem. Best oil company that cares.

Barry Forget: Our furnace went out on super bowl Sunday so my wife called Peterson oil The woman answered the phone was extremely rude and unhelpful basically told my wife no contract no service and basically told her nobody's going to help us unless you had a contract with that company. So my wife called Al's oil service and we could not be happier. We explained our situation to make matters worse our daughter was sick she just got a cold The woman that my wife spoke with on the phone I wish I could remember her name was awesome ,kind polite and she actually cared .She had someone there in less than an hour somebody was at our door got our boiler going the tech was great extremely helpful I couldn't thank them enough unfortunately I boiler stopped working about two hours later. My wife called back the woman on the phone was wonderful again had somebody back that afternoon and fix the problem the boil needed a few parts . I couldn't be happier al's oil service came through they're wonderful and they have our business thank you again.

Their automatic deliveries and customer usage models were spot-on.Then my tank leaked only 11 days before closing on the sale of the home! Bad timing! It was a 54 year old tank (way too old!)Friday: leak discovered, called Al’s. Technician came over within hours, put a patch on it, and recommended we call the office Monday to do a replacement.Saturday: leak persisted past the temporary patch. I called for emergency service. Tech shows up within a couple of hours on an OFF-HOURS WEEKEND CALL and pumped it all out into barrels. They leave us a small vessel for the burner line so we can take hot showers.Monday: I call the office in the morning. They know the urgency of my closing date and tell me they will be over at noon to replace the tank. They charge me a decent regular price for tank replacement. I pay it immediately. They tell me not to pay for the other visits yet, as they can combine some of that work with tank replacement. They tell me to call the office. I wait for the bill.3 weeks later: Home sale has closed and I get a bill for roughly 500 for the emergency work I didn’t pay for yet. I call the office to ask if they would be ok with reducing it (in my mind, they deserved every penny). THEY WIPED ALL OF THE CHARGES from my account and saved me $500! I have to assume it’s because they stick to all of their promises, go above and beyond, and it’s just what they do! No additional charge for that, just fair and decent prices.Al’s pulled my tail from the fire. I am a loyal customer now and for the foreseeable future.

They did an exceptional job, use top notch brands and all staff are incredible. Competitive but reasonable prices. Install was done in one day. Consistent, fast, and quality service. Highly recommend them if you are looking for the best in the area. I could not be more happy with their service! A++++
Scott Pierce: Looking for a/c repair on Yelp, this place came up, so I sent them a message. They replied wanting to set up a phone consultation, which I did. Shortly after, they sent another message saying they'll only work with me if I'm buying oil from them. Nothing in the house I live in burns oil, I just wanted my a/c fixed to endure a heat wave. But that apparently wasn't a good enough reason. obviously, It's just all about the dollar to this business, and not helping people. If I ever do need to buy fuel oil, I WON'T be calling them.

Petro Home Services: what do users think?
Tony: I don't understand the bad review. Our experience was 5 STARS. On a very cold, snowy Saturday morning, our heating/AC system stopped blowing hot air. It was freezing in the house. We called 3 other "24/7" HVAC companies, and Petro was the only one that answered the phone - 7:08 AM.The Customer Service rep was sympathetic to our plight. We did not have an account with Petro, having come off of install warranty with another provider. She set us up with an Service account, and explained it was an initial $69.95 diagnostic fee, which I found very reasonable, for not being normal customer, and calling in on the fly. She also mentioned that they did have maintenance agreements if we were interested in the future, but she did not go in for the hard sell. She was wonderful on the phone.She dispatched the On-Call technician - 7:28 AM. The Petro tech called to confirm our address at 7:42 AM, said he'd get someone out there ASAP and the Petro truck pulled into our driveway at 8:01 AM.Brad from Petro, arrived in uniform, wearing a Covid19 mask, and was very friendly. He went right to work. Our central heat/air unit is in the attic, not an easy place to get to. He went up & down the ladder a couple of times, out to the truck, and back to the attic. Hot air started blowing out the vents soon after. He found a bad sensor and replaced it wicked quick. I asked how much I owed him, and he said the office would send us a bill. He was out that door at 8:51 AM. That's less than 2 hours from 1st phone call to a job complete. That's amazing response time.I would defiantly call this company again for any of my heating, AC or plumbing needs. Tony & Heather, Worcester, MA
Greg Branch: If I could give them 0 stars I would. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all costs!... Issue #1. They automatically bill you for " Premier Agreement" Cost for 1 YEAR= $310.85. Issue #2 Just got a delivery of oil 144 gallons = $447. $447 is more than 2x's what local oil companies are charging at this time! Then when I call to understand why they charged me 2x's the current rate they said " Because we are a full service company we charge more" LOL. Ok so I am subsidizing your full service company so you can pay oil techs, plumbers and who knows who else just in case I need them? When I asked if I pay double what local companies charged do I get those " Full services for free?" The answer was .......wait for it...."of course not"...We would charge you the full price of the service"? Think over that business model....
David Jong: Their prices for oil are outrageous (they never charged me less than $3.09 even when higher-taxed pump diesel was $2.69. I just ordered from a competitor for $1.95), they top off too often (effectively charging you for 200 gallons on your initial fill that you'll never get to use) and they will not suspend auto-fill if you signed up for that. They also continue delivering and billing even after the contract expires if you don't explicitly tell them to stop.
James Hughes: Shady company, avoid. I was told I'd be in a no contract service andwould have only 2 scheduled oil deliveries. I called to cancel after the 2nd delivery. A month later, they delivered again, after I had received 2 deliveries from my new company. They had no delivered since November and suddenly I get a new delivery in March after cancelling. I called to dispute and they claim it was never cancelled and they couldn't find a recording of my call. Shady business. I recommend Alliance oil.
