Berklee Performance Center: what do users think?
Gordon Fong: Excellent Venue. Good Slight lines.
Jerry Loew: Seeing future stars for short money is a huge treat.
John Caruso: Intimate venue for shows. Views can be a problem due the seating.
David Chea: Came here for the first time last night (Yamato Japanese Drummers). I didn't expect the stage and seating area to be that small, but it got the job done. The Yamato drummers were awesome and their performance really fires you up! Also love the comedy bits they added to their show without actually talking to the audience. The performance was about 1.5 hrs long and was told our ticket prices were only a fraction of getting the drummers here. The sponsors help subsidize the show.
Oleksandr Ostashko: Great!
Daniel Doe: ICCA Semi-final. Best seats not always front rows, but middle 12 rows back or front balcony as speakers can be loud vs hearing real voice not over speakers. Bathrooms can be tight at breaks, use before or after breaks. On Mass Ave street parking cheap, or garages 20-40 in area.
Mohamed Aguib: Sound system is not nice. Big night live is way better when it comes to sound and concerts.
Sam kassis: We attended a nice live music performance but the place needs some update
David Gordon: Had a very nice night out at the Berkeley Performance Center. And a great meal at the Summer Shack.
Henry Kon: Great audio. Great service.
Steve Bermundo: The BPC was a great venue for the event we attended. It was a benefit show, and the performers were all wonderful. It provided a large seating capacity yet felt warm and intimate. The ushers were very polite and professional.
Danostories: Excellent place
Aritra Bhattacherjee (AB): Part of the rich music heritage and identity of Boston, this place continues to be witness to some of the greatest artists from diverse cultures and backgrounds all over the world.
Dave Miller: The auditorium has excellent acoustics, and good sight lines even from way up in the balcony. It is a tall and narrow space which is a bit interesting, but it is a good hall.
Steven Damalas: Excellent acoustics. Ample legroom in the seats. A great place to listen to good music.
Scott Garren: Very long, narrow venue. The nosebleed seats are far from the stage. It would take a long time to get out in an emergency!
Behnam Sattar: This performance venue has always disappointed me. After being there a couple of times I started to learn which sections are worth buying tickets for. With that out of the way, there's always a temperature issue plus the quality of coordination for performances. The other day we could hear drum noises coming from the somewhere in the building for almost the entirety of the time we were there for a performance, which simply ruined our experience.
Jeffrey Howard: Best acoustics in the U SA
Joyce The Voice: Estactic. Security staff couldn't believe Israeli concert energy, dancing in the isles!!!
Miriam N: Awesome venue, perfect size for Idan Raichel concert I just saw which was amazing!!!!
Inspire By Kim: Enjoy visiting and watching the Warren Miller film

Dance Complex: what do users think?
Kyle Johnson: Not so hidden gem
Duckenson Castel: So much have changed here. Recently started taking classes and I love it. Bathroom are kept clean, it's super easy to take classes here. You do have to sign in with the instructors online or walk-in and pay in person. Would absolutely recommend you create an account on mind and body, follow the in-person schedule and go from there. Majority of the studios are very spacious as well. The staff is super awesome and amicable, which makes you want to keep coming back. And I love how they started incorporating mindfulness practices before/during majority of the classes. And a wide variety of dance genres and cultures.Overall great experience, love this place.
Phil Cohen: Dance Complex is awesome. Try capoeira
Kirsten Williams: Positive:Professionalism,Quality
Sarah B - she her: Positive:Communication,QualityWelcoming, inclusive dance studio in the heart of Cambridge. Instructors are qualified, skillful dancers and encouraging teachers. I always feel safe to push past my comfort zone here.
Gustave Laflare: Critical:ProfessionalismThis place is stealing people’s money and refuse to refund your money. AVOID GOING THERE!
Lisa Fusaro: Amazing so much fun. Natalie was awesome. Thank you so much
Londyn Korol: Reminds one of stereotypical, old fashioned dance studios with winding wooden stairs and exposed brick. Lovely building. A couple weird spots in the Studio 3 floor but nothing crazy. Easy to find, bike rack out front, lots of street parking.
brian cooper: Positive:Communication,Professionalism
Shanelle S: Three-floored community with a variety of dance classes. Came here on a Saturday for an impromptu Samba dance class at 1:30pm. It’s just one stop away on the red line from Harvard, so it’s a convenient option for students. It’s $15 for the samba class, but they’ll take cash and credit card. There’s a Santander right across the street if you need an ATM, since some of the classes are cash only. Note for Bank of America cardholders, there is a $3 ATM fee. There is a gender neutral bathroom availableThe 1:30-3pm Samba class was super fun. It was my first time doing Samba, but the teacher was super energetic and there are plenty of other beginners so you don’t have to feel awkward. You can put your stuff on the right hand side along the wall, and there’s plenty of mirror space so you can watch yourself shake it. There were people of all ages and it was good vibes all around. It started with a warm up and then payment, and then the actual Samba class. There was even a live band that played while we danced. At the end, there was a dance circle and everyone left sweaty but happy. The dance center overall is a cool spot and you can try out a number of different dance styles and classes no matter what age you are. I noticed on the bulletin board they have kid classes as well.
Tonya Lockwood: “ Afro Flow yoga is lit.” Andrew, 11 years old.
Rocephin W: The staff was very friendly.
Rohan Patel: Great location but not really great from inside.Good:1) the location. Right into Central square connecting to bus and train.2) price and classes: thrle salsa class I got deal on Groupon had 50% off and the instructor is super amazing.Bad:1. The entire building is super old. Not enough space for crowd waiting for next class, the bathrooms smells worse than public restrooms. And changing rooms are joined with those smelly toilets.2. Noise: People out from other classes are totally inconsiderate of other classes going and make so much noise that almost impossible to listen to your instructor. Sadly management doesn't care about it3. Building quality: building is not meant for dance classes as the windows shake due to dancea going on a floor above you and the noise of footsteps are completely distracting. Will I consider going for a class next time?Yes. If I get 50% off deal then I will.No. If I am paying good amount of money for the classes.
Mahala Burn: I find that the Dance Complex feels like the local community centers of my childhood- a bit ramshackle, but very functional for its purpose and full of friendly people of all ages, shapes, and backgrounds. It serves in a way an Equinox would never want to. Over the years, I've taken Haitian, West African, Nia, and Modern here and felt I was in a safe and supportive environment to move and express myself. The instructors are widely varied yet consistently skilled and inclusive, and for most classes there is great flexibility for dropping in when you are able given challenging work or personal schedule demands. I would definitely recommend if you feel you are lacking in community and/or need to find a place to move without judgement.
T: Amazing...full of culture good people and fun
Jenna Sunshine: The Dance Complex is great! They're a nonprofit organization that's really into keeping performing arts alive. It's a big place with a great vibe. There's a very comfortable down to earth atmosphere, and although there are advanced dancers there, you can be brand new to dance, and/or be older or heavier and you WON'T feel awkward there. Most of the classes and students are beginner to intermediate. There's a huge variety of classes offered there & you can view the class schedule on their website. Most of the class rooms are rented out by the hour to various instructors or companies, so you'd most likely be paying the instructor or their assistant. I point this out because people frequently ask why they can't sign up online. So the instructor is renting the room, and the students are paying the instructor, NOT the Dance Complex. I suggest you look at their schedule online and if you see a class you're interested in, click through to the description and you'll see how to sign up and whether a class is drop-in or session based. If the class you're interested in is a drop in class, then don't worry about the logistics of signing up & paying in advance, just show up, bring cash with you, and the instructor or their aide will help you & get you all set up. If you have any interest in dance but you're nervous because you have no experience, then THIS is the place to go! If you are new to dance, don't worry, you won't walk into a scary environment with professional dancers everywhere looking at you; instead you'll see many beginners, and people of all different sizes, races, ages and no one there is judgemental. Dance on!
Pasqualino Ferralis: Excellent dance school of various genres, excellent teachers
Stephanie Ruiz: I don't hate it or like it i love it
Yi-Hsin Lin: Great place to learn dance. The atmosphere is very laid back. You just show up and pay the teacher directly. Sometimes the price is a little different than what's stated on the website though.Every teacher has been very friendly and supportive, even if it turns out their class isn't the right style/level for you. Classes seem to have regular crowds attending, so the class does progress over the course of the semester while remaining friendly to drop-ins. Highly recommended!
Peter Galvin: The nexus of dance in Boston/Cambridge. Love the classes and the dance community centered here. It's a gem of life in the city.
Adee C: Idk why someone said that the bathrooms small cuz it doesn't and is actually SUPER neat. Everyone is really nice and supportive. The classes are killers! Totally recommend~👍

Huntington Avenue Theatre: what do users think?
Bill Barnert: Love the new renovations! There are actually fewer seats now, so they'd be more comfortable. And the red & green lights on the bathroom stalls to tell you which are in use is brilliant.

Bob Harrison: Great theater, great renovated space... Creative take on gender neutral restrooms with a concept that works!

Comfy Chris: I watched a play here called “Good People” back in 2012. It was an excellent production.

Emerson Cutler Majestic Theatre: what do users think?
Suzanne Frey: Classic and intimate. Beautifully maintained!
Zach Moses: Well run classic ornate theatre in the theatre district
Annemarie Tompsen: Wonderful location for shows. Be careful of balcony seats if you have concerns about stairs. Would recommend leaving plenty of time to get seated as there is often a line out the door before shows start, Lobby isn't too big.
Chris Edwards: Beautiful theater. Great acoustics. Amazing decor. To paraphrase the host of the show we went to see, it's like seeing a performance inside a Faberge egg.
I Rush: Great seats almost everywhere in the theater. Good acoustics
Cynthia Perry: Nice theater
annette jacobs: Saw an amazing show. DrumFolk. Definitely see it. Incredibly creative, beautiful, educational, important!
Jesse W. Vlacich: Live music here 🔥🔥🔥
George Ware IV (ABostonArtist.com): Beautiful theater!
Sarah Simmons: Great old fashioned theatre.. I enjoyed Champion
Ann Whitney Sands Freeman: Never have I enjoyed a performance more. Outstanding, an experience worth the wait.
ML Older: Small ornate theater with great sound for musicals and plays.
Henry Quinn: Wonderful old over the top Rococo inspired theater. The acoustics in particular were great -- it's a medium sized room that feels intimate but tricks your brain into believing it's huge. Right in the middle of a lot of terrible Boston clubs, but the world takes all kinds, I suppose. Park in the Common garage, but but your entry ahead of time.
Amber D: Such a magnificent experience! From the ushers to the performer, one you step inside, your reminded of the magnitude of the vibrations felt on stage, no matter what seat is chosen.
Chris Moos: Beautiful theater and the quality of acting and music is outstanding
Steve M: Enjoyed the show, but also the legroom is better and seating more comfortable than many other area theatres.
S N: Went to see what the constitution means to me. It was great. The seats were comfortable. The bathroom was clean.
Beatrice Kelsey-Watts: Lovely theater, no drinks service still.
Leah Klein: Beautiful mid-sized theatre. Comfortable seats and friendly staff. See anything from plays and small scale circus to dance and concerts here.
El Has Campeador: Almost human, almost the old days, except for the masks and Vax passports.Still awesome acoustics. Great place to listen to music.I miss normal.
Morgan Ploch: The Christmas Celtic Sojourn is a can’t miss! Wonderful production! The theatre is beautiful and I felt very safe with the vaccine verification and mask monitoring. Only complaint (not enough to dissuade attending again) was hearing sirens and car horns during the show.

Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Boston: what do users think?
Regiane Ventouris: I couldn’t be happier about joining Boston Studio last year. At Arthur Murray, I have the opportunity to get a formal education and get out of my comfort zone by learning new dances such as foxtrot and waltz which were completely new to me. I would like to thank my instructor Gary, for being so patient, pushing me, teaching me discipline, challenging me, and even for saying NO when I want to change the music or the choreography at the last minute! Gary, you are a wonderful dancer and instructor and I am so proud to learn with you!I would like to thank Harrison for making me feel so safe and confident on the dance floor. It is a pleasure to dance any rhythm with you. I wish I could have dance lessons with you and Gary at least five times a week!!!
Niel johnson: We took the plunge earlier in the year and have enjoyed ourself so much that we signed up again for further classes. All of the staff are very friendly and so willing to help and have a joke with
Kate Evans: So you think you can't dance? Oh yeah, you can with this crew. Top shelf instructors who are committed, patient, and fun! Bjorn is my instructor, but all the instructors are great. The Boston studio vibe is inclusive and cool. Fellow students support each other. It's such a happy and no pressure place to be after a tough day at work. I can't wait to get here at the end of the day. Energy is next level. Six months ago I moved with the grace of a robot. This weekend, I cha cha cha-ed at an Afro Cuban concert with friends who were learning how to dance before they could walk - and I held my own. To be able to move like that and be comfortable doing it - having the confidence to do it - is incredible - and worth the hard work you put into it. Thank you to Bjorn and the entire staff and my fellow students for making the decision to do this one of the best things I've ever done for myself. See you on the dance floor! :-)
Dolly Lakkis: Can't say enough about my two teachers.Harrison and Kathryn are the most patient as well as talented teachers ever.Being 12 years at AM u can easily say that all the teachers are fabulous but my soft spot is for my duo.
Emily Goslin: Arthur Murray is my happy place!! All of the instructors are rock stars. This is THE place to dance and be yourself. ❤️
Katherine Rich: We have loved our lessons at Arthur Murray! Grady has been a fantastic instructor - teaching us both basic ballroom steps and coming up with choreography. And, the whole team is always incredibly friendly!
Sam Hoffman: My fiancé and I learned our first dance for our wedding at Arthur Murray Boston this year. We were so lucky to have had Grady as our instructor, as he was the best teacher we could ever have asked for - patient, thoughtful, and encouraging. Though we didn't have any dance experience before our lessons, we ended feeling much more at ease on the dance floor. Highly recommend this studio!
Debra Hammond: Dance lessons were a Christmas gift and we started them on our anniversary. It began as a date night. Then came the father-daughter dance for our daughter’s wedding, and a reprise of Color My World on our 40th anniversary. The instructors are great, very supportive and tuned in to your needs. It’s a warm environment and a place to make new friends.
Noriko Miyakoda: If you want to become a more confident dancer, I am telling you it's a MUST to go to Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Boston!! They will help you learn the basic dance steps and take it step by step to a new level. I highly recommend contacting them. You will be amazed at what you can accomplish, in dance, by diligently working with an instructor or with multiple instructors (I suggest working with multiple because each instructor sheds new information on a dance).
Ioana Preston: Here I am going on to my 6th year as a student at AM Boston! Unbelievable journey, amazing experience! The instructors and students there, we are a family, a wonderful community that share the love for dance. Dancing, taking lessons, learning new techniques, preparing routines and solos, competing, it is all now an important part of my life. When you dance, you touch the stars!
Stephen Gildert: Fantastic, friendly dance school. Very welcoming of dancers of all abilities. Structured dance programmes help you track progress. Lots of activities too. Dance teachers are all excellent. Big shout out to Sami who has guided our progress so well
Sriram Emani: I wasn't sure what to expect when I first started, but 3 years later I'm going strong and training in 10 styles of dancing. The quality of instruction is top notch, personalized and encouraging. Being able to dance regularly at community events and showcases keeps you on your toes and ensures you aren't pushing it off to later like we tend to do with hobbies. Couldn't have asked for a more supportive community that celebrates each step and milestone. I highly recommend joining the Arthur Murray Boston studio to learn that you can be a fabulous dancer and have a great time doing it!
Josh Ahadian: The staff are extremely knowledgable and personable. The variety of dances I am able to learn from experts one-on-one and the ability to practice in group classes and party settings provides a nice variety. I only wish it didn't cost as much as it does, but they offer many different payment plans to fit your budget.
Amanda Marr: We had a wonderful experience with our instructor Olivia. She took our concerns as newbies into consideration and was able to help us achieve exactly what we were looking for: natural, not stiff, not over-choreographed first wedding dance. She helped us give a basic structure to the dance and lots of helpful suggestions and tips/tricks. We even had enough time to squeeze in some mother/son and father/daughter lessons into our package as well. We enjoyed each lesson and her personality and professionalism put us at ease.
Andrew Yellis: The Situation:We were getting married in six weeks. My fiancee was a ballerina through the end of high school. I have danced three or four times, max.The Process:I looked online for a place that was convenient and had reviews for people who can't dance. The second studio I looked at was Arthur Murray, and they were (thankfully) the most responsive. After one intro lesson we knew we would stick with the studio (and the instructor) to get our wedding dance together. The Result:Six sessions went much faster than I ever expected. We learned and progressed with every minute spent in the studio (and really appreciated the extra practice time that came with the lessons). Dancing did not become the most dreaded part of my week in large part thanks to our instructor Catherine and I even (gasp) had fun.In the end, we came out with exactly what we asked for. A simple dance without strict choreography that flowed and allowed us to be creative within the basic structure we had built. I was told later that everyone watching had been aware she danced and I did not - and I exceeded expectations (since they were zero). All credit to Arthur Murray. If you are nervous or out of time or have dancing skill horribly mismatched with your partner, you owe it to yourself to schedule a lesson here.
D Harmon: Arthur Murray Boston is a wonderful place to learn to dance: top quality instructors and a wonderful and friendly group of people. I enjoy the group classes, the private lessons, the weekly dance parties, and the many other special showcases, balls and festivities. They work on technique so that you don't just dance, but you actually look good doing so. Be prepared to open your wallet, but remember you do get what you pay for, and in the case of Arthur Murray of Boston it is worth it!
Roxane Sadaghiani: Bijorn is the kindest dance instructor ever! He, no matter what, makes you feel you are the best and become motivated to practice more and more and enjoy dancing more and more!
Brooke Smith: We attended an 8-class lesson plan in preparation for our first dance at our wedding and are so glad we chose Arthur Murray. We worked with a few instructors, all of whom were so helpful (neither of us had much history in dancing). We felt confident heading into our first dance on our wedding day and proud of what they had helped us put together! Thank you Arthur Murray Boston team for your creativity, inspiration, and persistence in teaching. We are so grateful! Highly recommended to all couples looking for lessons.
Ron Akanowicz: Positive:Professionalism,QualityI've been taking lessons at the studio for over a year now and really enjoy the level of instruction I've received. I can see I've made real progress in my dancing and enjoy it even more! Thanks AMDSB!
Constance Innocenti: My husband and I just finished our first block of classes at Arthur Murray Boston dance studio. Definitely my new favorite hobby! I now want to learn ALL the dances!Side note: during covid they have been extremely cautious not to spread germs. Instructors are wearing masks and gloves. There is hand sanitizer available and separate clean and used pens. I feel comfortable going there and it has been a great activity to do during this social distance period.
Anthony Scheff: My wife and I took ballroom dance lessons at this studio to prepare for our first dance, and we could not be happier with the results. We worked with Gary and Mariah, who were both wonderful. Our lessons were masked and socially distant because of the COVID pandemic, but they made us feel safe and comfortable. Our guests raved about our first dance, which is definitely more reflective of the professional instruction we received than our own dancing abilities. Whether you want to practice for a specific event or are just looking to become a better dancer, we highly recommend the Arthur Murray Studio of Boston.

Integrarte: what do users think?
Oneness: Their studio is not the biggest one in Boston area, but they are probably the most professional ballet teachers and dancers I met for adult ballet class, both Carlos and Erica are very nice and encouraging. Every time I took Erica’s class, I can feel her positive vibe. She did every demo throughly, every student, from very basic beginner level to very advance pre-professional one , will learn from her. She is very patient to correct your posture, and knows exactly those common mistakes students usually will make. For adult students like me, ballet is very good and important exercise for mind and body, and taking class in Integrarte is always a good experience.
Kevin J. Smith: Magnificent!
Maria Berte: My daughter just finished two weeks of summer intensive training at Integrarte, and we could not have chosen a better place. She found great ballet classes taught by Carlos Molina and Erica Cornejo, as well as an engaging Jazz class. The level of instruction is excellent; the teachers share their passion for dance create a very friendly, safe and kind environment where students feel encouraged to enjoy dancing, and explore their abilities.I highly recommend Integrarte.(A plus: This academy lets you choose the weeks of the summer in which to enroll, making it easier to plan trips and other family activities).
Jane W: It's one of the best and most welcoming places that I've been to. Carlos and Erica are so established but they are so nice. In some places, the teachers only correct the students who dance well, or they act like they're looking, but they never bother with less experienced students. But you know, those students are the ones who need the most help! The teachers here really teach with passion, and you can see that they are truly happy people, and their energy fills the studio. There is a real difference between taking class here versus working out with teachers don't make it, not try hard enough, and always complain about students. Good teachers like Erica and Carlos don't come around often. I am so grateful that they make this quality of teaching accessible to the general public.
Shennar “Zher” S: Great place!
Daneris Cruz: I take the beginner class on Thursday. Erica and Carlos take turns teaching and they are both very nice and provide a lot of corrections. It's amazing because they are world class dancers so it's lovely to watch them demo the steps.
Clara Rodriguez: I absolutely love the location and ambience of this beautiful ballet studio. As you walk in you get this feeling of old and new. I recently went to visit my younger sister at one of her ballet classes. Being her first time starting ballet this school not only offers a class for beginners but they offer a follow up class beginners 2 that helps those who still don't feel confident to start the next step level to ballet. My sister was star struck when she heard Erica Cornejo from the Boston ballet was the owner of this fairly new school and one of the instructors. As I delved into the location I was warmly greeted by the owners upon speaking to them they told me that they not only offer ballet but have Yoga classes, as well as very unique dance classes like salsa, and Baroque.

If you like baseball and live in New England, then go there!

Boston Area Spanish Exchange: what do users think?
Jessie Colbert: We have been working with Soheila Ayouboff at BASE for several years and she is an absolutely excellent Arabic teacher. She works with our middle school son and makes the learning inspiring, relevant, and fun. He is excited for the lessons and now has excellent Arabic writing, speaking, and comprehension skills. Soheila is a total joy to work with and we cannot recommend her more highly! BASE has also been easy to work with and coordinate the lessons with Soheila.
Julia: I took two intensive classes at BASE, the most recent one via Zoom with Elaine. I like that the classes are more conversationally driven, especially the fact that homework was designed to incorporate both grammar practice and preparation for conversation during the next class. Because we each had a lot of leeway over the conversation material we prepared for each class, the class discussions felt organic and interesting, like chatting with a group of new friends over drinks. I also gained a ton of useful vocabulary needed for day to day conversations, as opposed to what is covered in textbooks. Elaine did a really great job fostering a comfortable environment to chat in Spanish without being afraid to make mistakes, and gently drawing out the shy ones from their shell. The classes were a fun way to shake up an otherwise monotonous daily routine during social distancing, and my Spanish SO says my speaking has improved significantly after I finished the last course period. I’ve also interacted with the owners, Bill and Lorena, for logistics and when they've substituted for classes, and they are both great to work with.
Sarah: I really appreciate how communicative and friendly the staff is here. The classes are a fair price, and the Arabic teachers are very committed. However, as someone who has taken many language classes, I feel the pedagogy is not modern or effective. The teachers push speed, correctness, and content over letting the students speak and make mistakes.
cristina rodrigues: I have loved my experience at BASE and learned SO much. I walked in with basically no Spanish and am now conversational. It was important that from the very first class we were being taught in Spanish and we were getting to know each other in Spanish. I learned so much more quickly because of that. You get into a rhythm there. The teachers are full of energy, warmth and knowledge. Regardless of your level, they make you feel comfortable speaking in Spanish, making mistakes and learning out loud. We discussed all kinds of interesting topics in class. The teachers are also very generous responding to email questions outside of class time. As a school they understand that sometimes scheduling conflicts are inevitable so they will let you make up classes you miss. Its also been wonderful meeting other people interested in learning Spanish, traveling and community building - people with interesting stories of their own. I have made friends who have increased my motivation to go back. And the location is amazing - right outside of Downtown Crossing. I enthusiastically recommend BASE!
Brahm Gartner: BASE is a truly wonderful language school with truly wonderful people behind it. I first heard about them through the Boston Calendar at the start of the year, and since then have been participating in a variety of events that they've hosted in person and online. Great people, great vibes, fostering community through language and cultural exchange.
Ky Lea Gerbush: If you are looking for an amazing place to learn Spanish, and a community full of great people, BASE is it. My husband and I started taking Spanish lessons at BASE last semester and we could not be more impressed. First, their rates are so reasonable, literaly the most affordable place for high quality Spanish lessons! Second, the instructors are INCREDABLE. We had Luis for Basico A, and he was just so great. The classes are small, he takes tons of time to answer questions and give one on one attention to students. He also gets you speaking from day one. Third, they are really building a community at BASE. There are game nights, Spanish speaking lunchs, really just anything to bring people together and speaking spanish. Finally, they are the most understanding and personalized business. We had signed up to take Basico B, and were all preped to take it online because of social distancing, but then we needed to drop out of the class in order to travel to take care of some family. BASE was so understanding and kind. They are allowing up to take the class next semester, even though the semester had already started. If you are even considering taking a class with BASE, GO FOR IT, you will not regret it.
Emma S: I loved taking Spanish lessons at BASE. Everyone was so friendly and I had some great teachers! Elaine and Luis were fantastic.
Danielle W: I am now on my second course with BASE and I am so happy with the program! I will definitely continue to sign up for classes in the future. Elaine is a wonderful spanish teacher and it seems like the other teachers are great too!
Jessica Fujimori: I've taken Spanish, Arabic, and Farsi (Persian) classes here and had great experiences in all! The prices cannot be beat (truly incredible value for language classes in Boston) and the teachers are warm, welcoming, and skilled. Great community for language learners of all levels.
Benny Losordo: I studied Spanish at BASE one night a week for about two years. I learned a ton and had a great time! Highly recommended!
Eric Dorenzo: I very rarely write reviews, but considering how happy I am with my choice to come to BASE for my first few Spanish courses, I wanted to put it out there for others! So far I have take two courses, covering 4 total levels (Basic A-C and Intermediate A). They also offer less intensive classes as well as private and semi-private options as well, but considering I was looking for conversational practice I chose the group option. Bill (the director/owner of the program with his wife) and all of the teachers are friendly, attentive, and do their best to make you feel welcome and comfortable. This school is also located in the heart of Downtown Crossing, which made it super convenient and was among the most reasonably priced options out there (including the Centers for Adult Ed.).At first I was apprehensive to start with classes, as this is more of an "exchange", as the name implies, and has a fairly informal office space setting. However, my worries were immediately set aside when I met Bill and my teacher, Elaine. From day one I felt confident that I was in good hands. She was always engaged and focused with myself and other students, catering to the varying experience levels in my class so as not to leave anyone behind or bore anyone. While the curriculum is set by the course level, she kept the class fresh and was consistently challenging us with homework and in-class conversation sessions. I also took a few make-ups with another teacher, Ricardo, who had his own style of teaching but was equally engaged and concerned with his students' progress.Overall, I feel I gained a lot from my time so far (~14 weeks), going from someone with a very basic comprehension level and non-existent speaking skill, to a much more confident and capable reader, listener and speaker. While I still have a long ways to go, I am happy in particular with the confidence Bill and his team have built in my abilities!
Varun Agrawal: I never made it past the unhelpful receptionist who gave one word answers to everything , and then made me feel stupid for asking about their methods and objectives. Learning a language requires patience from both the students and the teachers, and an attitude of making a prospective student feel silly for asking questions is a big red flag.
Antje Duvekot: Amazing! So great. They make language learning super fun and engaging. Every teacher I've had there so far has been extraordinary! I suspect this is not coincidence, but rather because they only hire the best!
Perry Carrison: Best language school, best methods of teaching in Boston.
Christian Ternus: Absolutely fantastic. I'm taking Básico A/B Semi-intensivo and loving every minute of it -- truly remarkable for an evening class after a long day of work!I feel comfortable constructing Spanish sentences after only five classes. The immersive format makes class a real brain workout -- Profesora Calderon starts speaking Spanish from the first minute of the first class, and you're expected to keep up. She keeps our class's attention, mixing just the right amount of essential cultural info and engaging stories with the instruction. It helps that "los profesors Bill y Lorena" are truly wonderful people -- kind, outgoing, bright, and charismatic. To top it all off, it's convenient. The building is close to the Park Street T stop -- less than two minutes away.In short, I can't imagine a better place to study Spanish. Sign up for a class -- you'll be glad you did. Hasta luego!
