Georgetown Cupcake: what do users think?
Divine Purpose: Love love love the cup cakes! Absolutely amazing people and the experience was everything. Thank you for treating people with kindness and respect. It makes a difference! ♥️
Chana Green: I sent cupcakes as a birthday gift today. They arrived on time, however they were tipped over. I’ve ordered from Georgetown many times, however this may be my last time.
Maya Shen: Decent cupcakes, especially you like frostings, but if not, 1/2 of these cupcakes are frostings. The quality alone doesn’t justify the price as they’re quite small, the cheesecake one have lumps and cake’s not all moist, so some inconsistencies there. However the flavor profile for each cupcake is very nice, all well decorated and the store’s located at one of the best parts of Boston.
Tristen Sierra: Absolute WORST experience! I was in DC and purchased $80+ at this location. Included in my purchase was 2 ice coffees. I got on the road for a 5 hour drive and about and hour into my drive we picked up the coffees (out of the cup holders) to drink them. But unfortunately I was unable to drink them since there was a hole in the cup and the coffee went all in my cupholder and then when I took it out and turn all over both of us on the car. I am mediately called the location with no answer. I called several times and left several messages. I also reached out to their corporate location and called several times once I was holding online for an hour and then they hung up on me. The location has never called me back nor has their corporate office. I emailed the corporate office who got back to me and really could care less. All they did was offer me a gift card for my next return. After the horrible customer service that I encountered I would never returned any of their locations. But mind you in my initial email to the corporate office I explain to them that I live in New York which is five hours away from one of their locations. And I would not be going back. When I told them that unfortunately I’m not going back to your location due to these factors they completely stopped reaching out to me. This is a disgusting way to do business!
Tracy Morris: I ordered 2 dozen birthday cupcakes suppose to decorate with the little happy birthday on the top none of the cupcakes where decorated with that, just some sprinkles on top of the icing so disappointed I try calling no one answered the phone, not sure what kind of business they are running. This place was never like this.
Christina Mara: The cupcakes here are amazing
Patrick McKenna: To start they are overpriced for what you get and there was a long line. Despite the line we decided to try it. The location is convenient, inside is nice, and the cupcakes looked delicious. As for the cupcakes themselves, the standard vanilla on vanilla was delicious. However, the chocolate peanut butter cupcake tasted horrible. The peanut butter tasted as if it was made with salted butter, and the chocolate had a burnt coffee taste to it. The purple unicorn (essentially vanilla with food coloring) tasted as if it was just cream cheese that sat out for a week as the “icing” was crunchy. The actual cupcakes were hard and lacked and sort of freshness. My wife ordered Gluten Free, and could barely get through one, as it was hard, crunchy and tasteless. The staff were cold, just pushed people along. That being said the gentleman boxing the cupcakes was amazing, super friendly and funny. For the amount we paid, we were highly disappointed. We expected so much better, especially with all the bakeries in the city. Would not recommend.
Jenny Kim: I think they’re fine if you go in person, but I would never ever order online again. I ordered cupcakes for my birthday and perhaps, in retrospect, I should have checked them in store, but they got my order wrong. When I opened the cupcakes at my party, I got really sad that they weren’t the ones I ordered. I ordered about a week in advance so they would have time to prep them, but I guess they did not. They gave me a cheaper set than the one I ordered (which had more decor). I would have been more okay with it if the store had warned me upon pickup that they couldn’t fulfill my order in the way I wanted, but they didn’t communicate that to me. I honestly had to really hold back crying (maybe dumb but it had already been a long day). Moreover, I made this online order on the official Georgetown Cupcakes website so I guess I had trusted it would have been fine. I guess I’m just disappointed and frustrated at the lack of communication and the lack of accuracy. They also initially couldn’t find my order so what should have been a quick trip took about 10 minutes while someone walked around the store and kept on searching for bags of orders until they found mine. Anyway, long story short, I think that they’re okay if you go in person, but if you’re doing an online order, please check before you leave the store. I wish I had.
Serena Ray Fox: I don’t exactly see the hype. I tried it a while ago and don’t really remember what it tasted like, all my mom said is that it wasn’t very good from what she remembered, but then I tried it again this past February and I was disappointed again. I don’t think 12 cupcakes are worth 48 dollars, I think the price is only justified because it is a popular spot in Boston.
Judith Woolridge: Fantastic cupcakes! They have amazing gluten free options too! Staff is very friendly and helpful.
J fam: They usually have two flavors of vegan cupcakes , it's either carrot cupcakes or apple cinnamon. I got the apple cinnamon which was ok but pricey $$$ for the size. The To-go packaging was super cute.My friend got the chocolate ganache and one more cupcake that had eggs so I couldn't try them but he said they were so-so.I appreciate that staff wore gloves while picking up.the vegan cupcakes and packed it separately from the non vegan cupcakes. My friend who was their customer had restroom emergency but they refused saying the restroom was closed which was unfortunate.Won't be going again, it was ok for one time.
Sofia Vargas: Best cupcakes in Boston, period! Quality ingredients, taste amazing, look incredible!
Tarick Bedeir: I'm a long-time fan of Georgetown Cupcake but today's visit was awful. We ordered two "mocha fudge" cupcakes but got something that 1) had no fudge, 2) was half cheesecake. Asked the staff why there was no fudge filling and was told they had "a fudge flavor", whatever that means. Ended up tossing them in the trash.
LJ C: I always enjoy a few treats from Georgetown Cupcakes when I am in Boston. The cupcakes are always fresh, delicious and beautiful. The staff is always friendly and attentive. Reminds me of their beginnings and how much I loved watching their show years ago.
John Duffy: I think they're a bit overpriced, but really excellent quality cupcakes.
TwoRe La: This place use to be good, but after the pandemic they are making the cupcakes much smaller in size. I went there on Sunday and the two cupcakes that I order were hard and dry. Even the cupcake paper that they were baked in was hard to come off. The cupcakes were dry and not moist. This use to be one of my favorite cupcake places to go to in Boston but not anymore. I'm not sure if they have a new baker but I'm very disappointed. Now I'm going to try and find a new cupcakes spot in Boston.
Sandy W: Came here for pickup a few cupcakes for my niece since I was in town for lunch. The cupcakes never disappoints, it is as good as I remembered it when I worked on Newbury Street. Definitely try their cupcakes!
asraf ramli: With cupcakes that taste like heaven, it is of little wonder that I keep returning whenever I am in town.
Rai H.: 😎how many times have you been to this place? 4 dessert: got cupcakes for the first anniversary. their cupcakes are usually good but a little crumbly, not as soft and moist as I would prefer.💁🏻‍♀️would I revisit this place?: Yes, but not for a while.
Steven: I think the cupcake is more of a cultural thing rather than a taste thing. My personal opinion is that it is just a lot of sugar and it lacks actual texture and depth of what a good cupcake/dessert should be but GT cupcake is heavily liked and attractive to many people, being an obese country, I'm not too surprised.Their espresso drink is low, very low, I could get better milk based espresso drink out of most machines I have seen. Now you all must be wondering why this is 3 star review. The reason is I have to be fair and judge the taste based on local perception of what is good.
Jennifer Murphy: I don't understand the high ratings. We tried 2 different flavors. The cupcake tasted raw. Terrible. Threw them out.

Oakleaf Cakes Bake Shop: what do users think?
Daniel Gulyas: Lovely spot just around the corner. All great products and staff.
Jennifer M.: We had the BEST cake from Oakleaf at our wedding. The detail went above and beyond, they perfectly executed our cake vision, not to mention, it was delicious too!
Ben Amerault: Thank you for the amazing cake, Madison! I will definitely return for all of my future cake orders. I highly recommend Oakleaf!
Rachel Amerault: Madison at Oak Leaf made my birthday cake so special. It was obvious she put thought and care into the creation of this cake. Truly was so special to enjoy with family on my birthday!
Kayla Pringle: As someone with an egg allergy, it’s not common for me to have a great tasting birthday cake. Oakleaf has managed to make two amazing gourmet cakes in my life in the past year; the first being the most delicious Pumpkin Spice vegan cake that was my wonderful birthday cake I don’t think I’ve ever had cake that good!! The second was for my partner and was a lovely red velvet cake that I’m still waiting for someone to share a slice with me! The customer service when ordering the one for my partner was phenomenal and I truly trust no other shop when it comes to cakes!
brianlidawg: Great spot to grab a quick brekkie! Very quaint atmosphere combined with stellar pastries and coffee give the place a warmth and homey feel. They make their own Chai latte blend and its delicious! Their croissants are tasty too! 10/10 would recommend!
Robert Tucker: Outclass service
Jacob V: Oak Leaf did our wedding cake, and it was absolutely perfect. Aside from tasting amazing, they worked with us to customize certain decor on the cake, including adding a fondant figure of our dog on the side which looked exactly like him. The delivery was smooth and well on time in advance of our ceremony/reception, and the cake itself was a hit on our dessert table.
Cam Collyer: This is not a latte! Please, if you are going to charge $4.50 for a latte, please make it a latte!
Daniel Bergen: I got the chocolate lovers gourmet cake for my mother's 80th birthday, 5" for an astounding $40 and it wasn't chocolatey at all, the frosting only tasted like butter and sugar, and I got bad heartburn. Definitely not worth it.Response to reply below: not only did I ensure it served at room temperature as they tell you repeatedly, I wondered what it is about these cakes that they are so insistent that they are served that way. I have had lots of cakes before that were served chilled that tasted fine, maybe they are skimping on ingredients. Anyway, this cake wasn't very good and not worth the money.
David Chang: I had a chocolate chunk cookie and pumpkin spice oat latte as a snack while passing by. Cute little cafe with a relaxed vibe. Loved it
Madison Whitley: Oakleaf made the cutest custom cookies for our wedding welcome bags. They were almost too pretty to eat, but the ones we ate were delicious. Thank you Liz & team!
Ruth Nore: Best Chai I've had in a long time!
Vivian Carrera, née Chen: My husband's favorite anime is Dragon Ball Z, so when it was almost his birthday, I decided that I was going to get him a Dragon Ball Z cake. I found multiple top rated bakeries in and near Boston. To my chagrin, all of the bakeries turned me down because making a Dragon Ball Z was not considered very Instagram-worthy.I kept on looking, however, and finally found Oakleaf Cakes. I contacted them with barely a line of notes because I assumed Oakleaf would just turn me down. To my surprise, with only 6-7 days until my husband's birthday, Oakleaf said it would make the cake!Because Oakleaf was not among the highest rated bakeries in Boston, I expected an intricate cake due to the high price, but did not expect a great tasting cake. I was wrong! As someone who generally does not enjoy cakes, I actually really loved the chocolate chocolate cake Oakleaf made for my husband! My husband also loved how the cake looked and cherished it so much that he could not bring himself to eat the dragon fondant sculpture until it went bad!We are so impressed!
Chris E: They literally misspelled my girlfriend’s name on the cake. You had one job… Will update on the flavor.
Chris Shen: Amazing baked goods (both traditional and vegan) are matched with a great variety of hot and icy drinks... so good!
Isamary Garcia: Red velvet ombré cake was beautiful & delicious!
Nicholas Price: Several years ago, before we got married, my wife got a birthday cake from Oakleaf Cakes Bake Shop. It was filled with realistic jasmine flowers made out of frosting. It was so beautiful and delicious that we knew we needed Oakleaf to prepare the cakes for our wedding day. And they did not disappoint in the least. For our wedding, they provided three elegant and delicious cakes to sit on top of platforms on our desert table. In addition, we ordered a large number of macaron's accentuate the beauty of the cakes and the rest of the desert table. And yet again, both the cakes and macarons were delicious. The staff were friendly and easy to work with. They delivered everything to the venue on time. We would highly recommend working with Oakleaf for any special cakes you need.
Susan Sommers: Staff was wonderful, but the cake was tasteless. We bought a little chocolate cake with white icing for my husband’s birthday. It was a beautiful cake and well done, just had no flavor to the cake. The icing texture was wonderful, but, again, lacking flavor - definitely not your average buttercream sweetness. (The cake was served appropriately two hours out of the shop’s display case.) The sugar cookie tasted like shortening rather than buttery. So disappointed. Five stars for the staff, one star for the cake and cookie. Bottom line, not our style of cake.
Anne Chao: 可愛的蛋糕店!杯子蛋糕真是好吃店員人都很好,我每次都會去點冰巧克力雖然菜單上沒有但他們都會人很好的讓我點~優質的小小蛋糕咖啡店~~~
Randi Simons: I ordered a vegan cake from Oakleaf. It looked beautiful was wonderful to eat. I had some confusion about my payment when I placed the order, and ended up having to call and ask them to cancel the order so I could resubmit it. Communication was a bit difficult because no one answers the phone when you call, but my calls were returned and I got all the assistance I needed, so I was grateful for that. Would definitely recommend.

Violette Gluten Free Bakery: what do users think?
Cecilia Viera: They should be more option about sugar free cakes is really not far for others.
Hadas Maroun: I don't know why this place has anything but 5 stars!! Every time I've gotten something from here, I have been SO happy. I have tried a few different items, and each time I am so satisfied with the test, texture, etc. I have been vegan for 3 years, and this is one of the few places where I forget I'm eating something vegan. Don't be fooled by the reviews!
Aidan Robbins: Lemon cookie was pretty…gluey? And had a weird aftertaste. The other items were just okay. I’d rate the place higher but each of the items were overpriced for what they were (even being GF) and the owner was pretty short with us.
Ragini Shah: This place has always been my go to for a cupcake because of the excellent flavors of the cakes and icings. Because I love them so much, I recently ordered a cake for a friend's book launch. I had an edible sugar version of her book cover made and the cake decorator (Danielle, I think?) placed it beautifully on a special order cake. Everyone at the event loved this cake (vanilla with raspberry buttercream). I had another baker contemplate working here! If you like things less sweet and tasting more like the real thing, you have to try this place!
Bethany Smith: Hi! I came here a while ago and have been meaning to leave a review since. The muffin I had was okay, but nothing special--Especially for the expensive price tag. The "how did you get here" survey felt weird, and now after reading other reviews, I understand why the owner forces this question. This bakery is clearly owned by someone deranged...Edit: They responded and said I'm not a customer when that's not true ? Yeah, not a customer anymore... They copy and paste the same thing to every negative review... My point was proven by the instant response lol. Save your money and give it to someone who is a productive and positive member of the community instead
Elliot Alderson: overpriced cupcakes, not worth the long wait time. Also my order was missing an item.
Melissa Ciampa: love the vegan donuts ....and pop tarts are so yummy...
lucia tarantino: Violette is probably the best bakery around! Everything is delicious! I can't believe it's gluten free. I stopped eating gluten, and other items have been omitted from my diet. Violette made it possible for me not to give up my sweets. Their cookies, all of them! Cupcakes yes! And a must try the donuts! Anything chocolate too. Violette is not just sweet, they have excellent savory too! I love the rosemary scones/biscuits one of my favs. My 11 year old is a huge fan as well. Thank you to the staff for their hospitality too. Thank you! :)
Liz DellaPorta Fitness: Amazing Bakery! Diet sensitive!
Nikita Khadloya: I ordered a birthday cake from here for a friend’s birthday (my friend has a gluten allergy). Everyone who tried a piece, both those with and without a gluten allergy, absolutely loved it! The cake was moist and the buttercream was phenomenal—we wouldn’t have been able to tell it was gluten free. Plus it had a little dried flower as decoration and they wrote happy birthday on it, making it look beautiful too. Thank you for helping make my friend’s birthday celebration special! For reference, I got a small size cake with a chocolate base and vanilla buttercream (buttercream was with dairy).
Chris E: i love riding my bike by here
Shireen Jyawook: Best and tastiest bakery, hands down! I love the fact I can preorder goodies. The donuts are unbelievable. And the fact they also have DF is a bonus!
Michael Roberson: Bought some cupcakes from this place in June of 2021 to share with a gluten allergic family member. They were okay, but certainly not good enough to put up with the owner’s appalling behavior. For the better part of a year, the proprietor of this establishment has been waging an extremely aggressive campaign against bike lanes, going so far as to sue the city over their implementation. When the judge threw out the case, the owner publically compared their case being thrown out to the overturning of Roe v. Wade by the supreme court. Absolutely shameful behavior betraying a complete lack of perspective.edit 2/10/23:Hi LeeSteffy! As I said in the review, I am a former customer. On June 7, 2021, I ordered:Chocolate Cupcake with Cream Cheese Italian Buttercream × 1Vanilla Cupcake Strawberry-Rhubarb French Buttercream × 1Brownies (DF) × 1DF Chocolate Cupcake with Chocolate Gran Marnier Buttercream and Chocolate Drizzle (DF) × 1If you'd like, I am happy to forward you the receipt. Frankly, the only thing I'm embarrassed about is having ever given you any money at all. I am sorry that you are having trouble with your customer purchasing database, but I implore you to please stop lying in your replies to all of your negative reviews. Thank you!
Han: Very nice and tasty selection of celiac friendly treats. Staff was friendly and helpful and put a nice box together for me 😊
raval niyati: Horrible experience.I was looking for a vegan bakery nearby, and it popped up in my search list. I ordered a vegan cake for my parents’ anniversary. My expectations were pretty high by reading good reviews, but I was so disappointed when we cut it. The sponge was so dry and firm, the chocolate frosting was so bitter- they forgot to add sugar in it. It felt like we were cutting a rock. Vegan cakes aren’t suppose to be like that. The charges are pretty high. Overall it was waste of money. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
kevin altschuler: Used to come here, but we will not be returning. The behavior and attitude of the owners is whack, not the kind of thing I want to exist in the area I live.If you have disagreements about local politics you can go about fighting for what you believe in a respectful and constructive way instead of trying to run a dishonest crusade.Edit: they replied and said I'm not a customer? That's a lie, I have had items from this bakery. Also, no. This is exactly how reviews should be used. As a way for people to express their distaste for problematic businesses in their community, and this business has a problem. This owner is cuckoo for cocoapuffs
Drew Frayer: Food is OK, but outspoken political views on the business and website leave a bad aftertaste.Edit: Despite the owner's petty response below, I have eaten here.
Rachel DeBack: Tried to make an order not phone availability for a sports team order
HM C: The cheesecake with chocolate topping is absolutely dreamy. I also got a berry pop tart which was really good bc it wasn't overly sweet. Thanks for offering such delicious gluten-free pastries!!
Candice Sheehan: I used a gift card I received in December of 2022 and have also had several cakes from here purchased by family members. I have generally been underwhelmed.
5 3: Best gluten free baked goods I’ve ever had.

Sugar Baking Co.: what do users think?
Alina Worth: Lost my daughter’s custom cake order and when I called to find out what we could do about it, they hung up on me.
Alen Dokmeciyan: Cheap and good coffee! Delicious pastries! - Will be going there many more times.
The Mind Expansion Channel: Pastries are good but expensive. The pistachio cupcakes are $5 a piece, and they taste like pistachios but too sweet. The brambles were okay, not nearly as good as the former Hanlon's bakery that used to operate in this site. I'm a little disappointed.
Sam Velez: The Tarts!!!! Fruit tarts are amazing, they are small but it’s fun to have multiple different flavors and try them all!!!
Stephen Hines: Cutting back on amount of ingredients....disappointed, just spent 17.00 on half moons and lemon squares, much less frosting on moons, less lemon in squares, time to find new place, also moons were turning stale
Erik Owens: Terrific neighborhood bakery, known for their raspberry brambles but also offering excellent cakes, pastries and cookies. Never disappoints.
Oliver: Super cute little shop! Always have the tastiest little treats and the staff is super nice.
Sam kassis: I stop there often their coffee and pastries are excellent parking is kind of tough center street is always busy
Sian Douglas: Delicious cakes, reasonably priced for size of cake, 10/10
Thomas Dittmer: Can't go wrong with this place. Ordered a custom birthday cake for my wife and it came out fantastic and tasted even better. Vanilla sponge with zingy lemon curd and coconut flakes. My personal favorites are the espresso squares, double chocolate cookies, peanut butter cupcakes, and of course... the brambles.
Lana G: If you want a custom cake be prepared to be DISAPPOINTED!! I’ve been getting custom cakes from here since 2017 and after my last experience I WILL NOT BE ORDERING CUSTOM CAKES FROM HERE AGAIN. The cake decorator Maria ignored the request that I had and instead of communicating that it wasn’t going to be how I wanted it, I showed up to pickup the order and it was not what I asked for despite me providing a reference photo and the details of the desired design, in person, over the phone, and via email. Also, i’m annoyed that I paid an ADDITIONAL DESIGN CHARGE FOR A DESIGN THAT WASN’T WHAT I ASKED FOR. It’s just sad that now I have to find a new bakery that will actually listen to what I want
Mary Ellen Gambon: This is my favorite bakery, whether it's for a cup of coffee or their homemade apple pie for the holidays. The pie is so mull of apples you almost need a forklift to take it home and the crust is yummy. The staff is always so pleasant, no how busy it gets. The hardest part is deciding which confection to choose, from the famous brambles to the cookies and pies.
Barbara Barrows: Wonderful baked goods
Peg Harvey: First and last time getting holiday pies from Sugar. Crust seemed store bought and was gummy. Apple filling seemed out of a can, overly sweet, with no real apple flavor. So disappointed, especially for $30 each. Don’t get the pies!!👎🏻
Lauren B: Love this place sm!
Eric Shupin: Whatever baked treat you’re looking for, Sugar has got it! All delicious. Also great for custom orders for pies and cakes.
K laham: What an awesome place. The bday cake for my wife was epic
Ronda Dorson: I would love to go to sugar bakery when we go to West Roxbury we always get their cookies yet to try any of their other pastries wish they would make things without nuts cuz there are quite a few things that I would like to have and unfortunately cannot have them do to my husband having a nut allergy if they made things with no nuts they should place them with a way from things with nuts for people who have not allergy again we love their cookies only thing my husband and I and my son will get our cookies
Brandon Huggon: While I *thoroughly* enjoy pastries from Sugar Baking Co., I have a friend who lives in West Roxbury who is OBSESSED with them - and Sugar saved me from a near "friendship fail" when I *almost* forgot his birthday. Having learned that Sugar offers delivery in West Roxbury, I frantically called to see if they could send a box of treats his way. Even though Sugar typically requires five business days to process the delivery, they were SUPER helpful and accommodated the delivery order I made on short notice. Moreover, they took the time to inscribe a "Happy Birthday" message on one of the treats without being prompted! In addition to offering my high praise and recommendation to Sugar for its decadent desserts, big ups to them for their stellar customer service! Thanks for the flavorful creations, and more importantly, for bailing me out of a jam!
Joseph Lust: My go to for all confections.
Travis Reik: Sugar makes a better carrot cake that Flour, hands down.

Bova's Bakery: what do users think?
anna loy: Loved the tiramisu
Jenny Champ: The best cannoli I've ever eaten.
Charles Rez: Best bakery in town hands down. There is such a wide variety and everything is at a reasonable price. I got the strawberry shortcake box cake and an Oreo cannoli, both delicious. I would highly recommend going here if you have the chance. 10/10
Pete Darnell: Wicked good and wicked expensive
Michiel Kriele: 24 / 7 geopend, en heel veel keus, lekkere taartjes en zoete versnaperingen. Altijd druk als je wat gaat halen.
Carolina: Best cheesecake ever!
Mohamed Hegazy: Exceptional florentine cannoli!
Fab Trav: 10/10 you already know this is the best in the Northend.
Marie Kern: Came here after doing some research and finding that it was a great bakery to stop. Overall was okay, tried a chocolate chip cannoli and a lobster tail and while they were good I’ve definitely had better. A good option if looking for a sweet fix but nothing life changing.
Celeste Jackson: absolutely fantastic and super quick service despite being busy, I'll definitely be back when I'm in town again
Richard W: The cannolo is the best I’ve had. I thought I didn’t like cannoli because every single one I’ve had in NYC were overly sweet and had a gritty texture. The cannoli at Bova’s have a completely smooth filling that’s not too sweet. The other pastries I got are also delicious, but the cannoli are the must try!Edit: I returned to try the tiramisu. All I’ll say is, if I lived near Bova’s I’ll gain twenty pounds in a year.
M Pagliei: Had the pleasure of enjoying one of the best sfogliatella at Bovas this past weekend. Having sampled to bakeries with all the hype - This place is the real deal. - Go to Bova's!
PRASHANTH D: Good. But u can’t sit and eat
Alexis Newman: Such delicious treats! The Boston cream pie, chocolate brick, and cannoli are all excellent!
Nestor Hernandez: Bova's Bakery is fantastic! Their lobster tail is incredible - flaky, buttery, and filled with a rich, creamy filling. Highly recommended!
Gracie Gralike: I got a cannoli and another pastry (that I never ate since I was too full!), but I thought that the cannoli was really good. I had the peanut butter and chocolate flavored one. The line is pretty long at night and the workers seem a bit stressed with the crowds. 4 stars because I thought it was a little expensive based on what it was. Paid over $10 for 2 pastries.
Katherine: Everything was delicious! My favorite was the chocolate covered cannolis!Added bonuses: open 24/7 & accept credit cards!
J T: The chocolate bomb is da bomb!!! Chocolate cake was a bit dry but incredible frosting. Husband liked the coconut cake. Cheesecake was okay but seriously the CHOCOLATE BOMB!!
Naomi Bowman: OMG … I can’t even begin to describe the experience I just had!!! This is the best place ever!!!!
Katherine Dubois: Best Italian bakery in the North End.
Cory Comer: The Florentine Cannoli is easily better than their more famous competitor. It’s amazing! Also, try the chocolate bomb and pistachio macaroon.

Flour Bakery & Cafe: what do users think?
KaLe E: Arrived on Saturday late morning for lunch. Ordered two sandwiches: braised lamb, and achiote chicken! Wanted go indulge and get the sticky buns for dessert, but atlas they ran out already. Both sandwiches were 10/10!!!!!The lamb was flavorful and very filling. Whereas the achiote chicken was light and refreshing.Meter street parking is available.
Harry Golnazarian: This is a wonderful cafe with great customer service. Extra stars if I could, for always having full water bowls for the doggos at the front.
Rachel: Great avocado toast. Wish I would have gotten a pastry instead of the merange peep but it was cute for Easter.
Sonia Barbosa: This is my birthday cake spot. The lemon raspberry cake is the all time favorite
Madison Burns: This place was really good for lunch! Had a BLT sandwich with added chicken. It was a little pricey, but worth it. Good location as well! Matcha was delicious. Would recommend :)
SuEllen Yoder: Cozy atmosphere and great bakery selection. We enjoyed the quiche and breakfast sandwich. The food is of good quality and flavor. We also ate a sticky bun, the caramel sauce and pecans are the perfect combination.
JM: Perfect job on not only pre-ordering a special event cake, but the end result was fantastic. Just a great job to all that took care of my requested order. Wouldn't hesitate to use for special event, as they showed the reliability to get it done and get it made perfectly...Brava to all involved.Oh. Parking sucks. Nothing to do with their operation, but it is what it is inside the city.
shay goncalves: Walked in this morning a bit of a wait didn't feel welcome i ask for 2 ham&cheese croissant was told didn't have it then i asked bacon egg&cheese on wheat bread they only have multigrain it was way too much yapping one person on register complete joke#BLACK LIVES MATTER
Sofia Briskin: Tasty food and great service
clov: really good breakfast sandwich but i think it made me sick + the wait was kinda long
Colin: I got a black coffee and a ginger chocolate scone and both were very good. A little pricey for me, but probably about right for the area.
Charlie Redden: Tasty, coffee, sticky sweet carrot cake
Konstantinos Papadakis: Fresh cakes. $$$$

Diane Geraci: Lots of places to choose for a great pastry, healthful sandwiches and soups, and coffee! Life in Boston is sweeter because of Flour. Don’t miss one of their convenient locations. ❤️
Michael Dunder: Good, tasty, fresh, almost like homemade food!
Yeganeh Saman Yazdjerdi: I visit this place whenever I’m in Boston. The coffee is perfect, the pastries are delicious. You MUST try the almond croissant 🥐The environment is very good and welcoming. You can sit outside and enjoy your break/breakfast or grab your food and head out.Everything I’ve tried yet has been great.
Tawanya Lynch: Love the food.
N N: Best customer service.

Mike's Pastry: what do users think?
Lauren Kelly: Best cannolis in Boston. They are large and not overly sweet. They also have a wide selection of other delectable treats to order and enjoy. This is a place you stop and grab your treats to go… no indoor seating. Plan to wait in line. $5.50 cannolis cash only
Ole Gornik: I had the Florentine Canoli and it tasted like what they must be serving in heaven. I am DEFINITELY gonna get another Canoli there tomorrow!
Gracelyn Foo: Amazing cannolis but deducted one star because the lady who served us was so rude. We were getting the cash out and she repeated herself in a condescending way and proceeds to stare at us throughout the payment process till we left the store.
St.PeteNative: We recently completely a tour of Italy, and never thought cannolis lived up to the hype. The chocolate chip cannoli at Mikes was hands down the best cannoli we have ever had. The boston cream pie was also delicious but seriously stop in to this busy but quick moving bakery
Marta Lazarowicz: Bardzo dobre canollo i duży wybór smaków. O ile nie jesteś bardzo głodny, to polecam jedno na dwie osoby, bo inaczej ciężko podołać.
Sabrina L: There was a lot of hype about this place not to mention seeing a long line . First generation Canadian with Italian /Sicilian roots so I gave it a try . The cannoli we had tasted good and there are many flavours . I was able to tell from the first bite however it’s not made authentically . Lacked the richness, was too light like whipping cream and tasted like icing sugar. The same cream seems to be used for a few different pastries . We found some pastries lacked flavour and we didn’t end up eating them all. The fig cucidatti were soft and chewy . Typically they are made with more of a cookie biscuit base . If you’re wanting something more authentic, I would try a smaller bakery that isn’t making such large batches of their pastries for large crowds.
Keri Dorfeld: Definitely the best cannoli I’ve ever had! Lobster tail was delicious too!
Ben McGuire: Absolutely loved coming here. We came because of the popularity, and I can completely see why. It was packed out, and I imagine it stays like that all day long. I got a Florentine cannoli and it was heavenly. We’d just eaten a big lunch and I struggled to finish eating mine. I recommend coming in between meals if you have the chance. Be aware that they are cash only.
Cheepers _: Absolutely amazing pastries. Boston creme pies and cannolis are to doe for. The lobster claw wasn't my favorite, but the cream inside was delicious. They are cash only, however.
Vicqueline Escalona: The chocolate covered cannoli and chocolate ricotta cannolis are a must try!!!! So delicious, truly some of the best desserts I’ve had in a while. The line looks king but moved fast. Make sure to bring cash!!!! Definitely recommend
Cory Comer: The Florentine Cannoli was AMAZING.
Tim Park: 확실히 달긴하네요, 한번은 먹어봐도 될듯합니다한개 이상먹긴 힘드네요.요즘 빵집들이 상향 표준화되었지요? 큰 기대는 하지마시고 추억 개념으로 드시길
richard meuse: Always great canolli! Cream puff wasn't so great tbh
Felipe Vellozo: The best cannoli I’ve ever tried! Super friendly staff.
A Brady: More cannolis and desserts of the old school than you've ever seen- right in little Italy of Boston.
Rumin Smith: The most amazing cannolis and really big!
manolo Q. L: Excelente...canolis are amazing delicious
Ayzik Kk: Cannoli Cannoli Cannoli
Ryan Wakefield: What a great local treasure.Pistachio flavor is the way to go.
Courtey Winegar: Good prices but the woman that waited on us wasn’t just rude but hostile, slamming around the box and swearing about us under her breath, rolling her eyes, like aggressive. So bizarre when I ordered politely saying please and thank you. When she asked if I wanted powdered sugar I said no thank you and then put sugar on it three separate times, like a mountain of it. I don’t really care about that but it was weird how mean she was, it was such a bummer I didn’t even want to eat the pastry or look at the box. Or ever go to north end again when visiting.

Jennifer Lee's Gourmet Bakery: what do users think?
humaira shams: Terrible experience with this bakery's online ordering and communication. The website was difficult to use, no confirmation received, and no clear contact info, they have a phone number but it text only and no one responds. They canceled my order without any reasons given,Would not recommend at all."
Ariel Gustowski: The BEST vegan desserts and sandwiches in the North end. And peace of mind knowing everything is Vegan makes me so happy.Jennifer Lee and everyone who works here are always fun to talk to, and she has the most amazing flavors. I got to try the key lime cupcake, my fav flavor so far😋
Melvin Weaver: The manager was informative about the needs of being vegan as well as the delicious delights that in no way taste like it's a vegan dessert. The chocolate chip cookie with the white filling in the middle *sigh* OMG it's vegan!!!!!
Bernard van Tonder: I didn't like the taste and small portion of a panini.Seems like the bakes are better.
Seth: DONT GO HERE. Heard this dark haired older lady call a 9 year old a “nasty meat eating rascal!”. The family didn’t speak great English, so the young boy was trying to translate for his mother because the lady kept rambling on about what veganism is and the poor kid was having trouble explaining the concept to his mom.
Richard Kell: As an experienced (but not picky) GF-DF bakery/pastry consumer, I can just say that this place is very hit or miss. Unfortunately, it’s “hits” are just okay at best, and some of its misses will leave you shocked that they sold the items to you with a straight face. If you’re still bent on trying them out, my advice would be to avoid spending too much time, travel, or money and stick to the basics. There are a few things that, if not already dried out, are decently edible. Just don’t be an idiot and spring for a $100 cake or anything. Consider yourself warned.
Russell Toynes: In the city on a layover for a night. We wanted a sweet treat, so finding a vegan bakery within walking distance was a definite yes. Unfortunately, we picked out 4 small individual treats; 2x whoopie pies, a donut, and a cannoli without inquiring about prices. $25!!! I was shocked. Nothing was priced but I couldn't do the math on how a pink donut with sprinkles could come close to $5+. I got over the sticker shock and chalked it up to small business and high quality. I took one bite of the donut, and at that price I would normally force myself yo finish it out of spite, but it was just too awful. I had already paid the cost once. No need to pay for it again. Honestly tasted like sugar, flour, and glue. The wife liked the whoopie pie so I'll give a star for that, but everything else was an awful example for vegan baked goods. Sorry to knock a small business but this place gives vegan food a horrible rep. Just some constructive feedback in hopes that it helps your business improve.
Nancy Maldonado: I’m sorry the employee is nice but cupcakes are awful if I throw one in someone’s head might in a coma.
Brinda Patel: THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT ORDER A CAKE FROM HERE. Reached out to this bakery through email to place a cake order on Tuesday. Jennifer said they could take on the order as a rush order with an extra charge and that it would be ready for Sunday. We drove into Boston to pick up the cake and it was no where to be found. The employee working reached out to Jennifer multiple times through text as she does not take phone calls. She later texted us directly to let us know the cake was never made and took zero responsibility for the situation but rather blamed it on us for not giving her 14 days notice to make the cake. We had to find a cake for our party last minute somewhere else. Only place an order with this bakery if you're ok with not getting a cake. We will never be ordering from here again.
Maddie Short: Amazing bakery that is 100% dairy/gluten/egg/soy free! I’m always looking for allergen friendly bakeries - and this one takes the cake! Brandon helped us out and was so kind and explained Jennifer’s story to starting the bakery! They have a ton of options, but get there quick before they run out!
Molly Aimen: I would definitely avoid this place at all costs for custom vegan cakes. I didn’t initially plan to leave a review but I think it would definitely help everyone out to be aware of the possible outcome. I placed a custom birthday cake order a month advance and Jennifer answered back about a week later saying I should size up the cake for what I wanted. This option is more expensive so I was hesitant but she’s the professional, right? So, I specify what exactly I want again but a size bigger since she asked and I then asked for a quote. This women ghosted me. Days and weeks pass by with no quote, invoice, call, etc. I moved on to finding other bakeries because I thought that was the end of this cake. THEN I receive an email at 9:20PM the night before I originally set my pick up date for this a message that says “Do you still want this cake the invoice was never paid for?” Like, what invoice Jennifer? It had been a month and you didn’t reply. I understand as a business owner things get busy/forgotten about but this was ridiculous. There are so few vegan bakeries that do strawberry flavored custom cakes that I was really hoping to get this. I hope this helps someone who’s looking for a custom vegan cake around the Boston area.
Morgan Ulrich: Great vegan spot! The cupcakes were amazing - rich and moist. The chickn cuban sandwich was alright, the flavors in the sauce weren't doing it for me. And the gluten free bread is homemade, tasty but has that GF texture. Definitely get the baked goods, and grab a sandwich especially if you are looking for gluten free options in the north end.
John Bartkowski: On our must-visit list for any Boston trip. Was sure I died and went to vegan, gluten-free heaven. Couldn't make up my mind among the wide-ranging selection of baked goods, so I ordered one of everything. Every item was outstanding. I'd rave about the cannoli and cupcakes but am afraid to cause a sold-out rush on these truly remarkable items. So, let's just keep that last comment between us, shall we?
Cole Rogers: Amazing vegan and gluten free deserts! I always stop here when in Boston. This time I got an apple cinnamon cupcake, and a strawberry strudel type pastry. Both were excellent, the texture was really on point too which can sometimes be a problem for gluten free stuff. Would recommend going when they first open for freshest things.
Dougie Smith: There was few items left and I got a cookies and cream brownie. I have allergies to 3 of the main allergens plus coconut. Very friendly people and the brownie was amazing. would 100% reccomend and will be going back there soon
Danielle & Justin Bollen: Great vegan and allergen free options!
Bollens: 1000% yes!! The low reviews surprise me. The baked goods were GREAT, and the woman working the stand was so friendly. Being GF, DF, SF, NF, etc is exhausting and I feel so safe buying food from here!
izcl186: the best donuts
dave gunn: My partner and I are both vegan, but she is also gluten-free, so we were both excited to find this place during our weekend in Boston. It was in the Boston Market, though it didn’t seem to note that anywhere online, which it probably should since the produce stands outside almost hid the entrance Google Maps took us to.Anyway, the woman working the shop all by herself was incredibly pleasant and sweet. We got four cupcakes, two doughnuts, two cake bars, a banana foster dish, and a buffalo calzone to-go. It came to about $57, which was average if not cheaper than what we were used to, let alone from a place so allergen-friendly AND vegan at the same time.We didn’t try anything until we got home more than four hours later, and everything was STILL delicious. I was very surprised with how moist the cupcakes and how soft the doughnuts were—things I seldom find in gluten-free treats. The icings were unique (watermelon? French toast? Cotton candy?) and very sweet, but if you don’t like sweet things then you probably don’t like cupcakes to begin with.We haven’t finished everything yet, but we’re so pleased with this place. Thanks for being there, Jennifer Lee, and for making inclusive vegan food while donating to animal sanctuaries, as well as paying your employees a living wage (we were told $25 an hour!). Your character is demonstrated through your business.
Kelly Lencz: Absolutely love this bakery. The only place we feel safe buying treats for our son with food allergies. Friendly staff and desserts are always fresh.
Heather Horn: My family had a fantastic experience here. The food was great, but even more important to us was the ability to safely buy bakery food as a family with multiple allergies (and one not a common allergen). Thank you so much for this inclusive experience!

Modern Pastry: what do users think?
David Blumberg: Amazing Pastries!!! Boston’s best - I’ve been to several and this clearly is the best one I’ve had here. Photos show the deliciousness. I sampled several of their works - from a Hostess Cupcake copy to Eclair. Worth the trip and line wait!Cash only.
Jorge Peña: Sin duda los mejores cannolis en Boston!!Una experiencia gastronómica deliciosa acompañada de un rápido servicio al cliente. Imperdible!
Phil Wood: Highly recommend. We taste tested cannoli is Boston on Vacation. This was the best. Other pastries were also top notch.
Lisa: Amazing assortment of pastries & cookies plus cordial service! Line moves so don't be dismayed when you see it on the sidewalk - worth the wait.
Christina Huang: The pastry there is tasty and fresh. A little sweeter than I expected. If you sit in, they take credit card but otherwise only cash, maybe not so convenient for tourists.
Curt LeCaptain: Oh. My. God. I was here for work and stopped in with my team and picked up a few baked goods and the cannoli. My boss informed me "it'll change your life" and damn, it does. They're so ridiculously delicious. I also went back another time to grab a couple different items like their strawberry cheesecake (delicious) and the chocolate covered cheesecake (also delicious). The prices are reasonable enough, the majority of baked goods are $5 each. You owe it to yourself to grab yourself a cannoli. OH... important note: CASH ONLY. Make sure you grab yourself some cash before getting in line.
Earl Schamehorn: It was so crowded it wasn't worth it.
Jodie-Lynn McMullen: So tasty!! There was a big lineup to get in but it moved rather quickly. Important to note that it is cash only! Prices are ridiculously cheap for the quality that you are getting. I'm not the biggest fan of cannoli but these ones were delicious with a wide variety to choose from.Service was friendly and even though it was packed we were still able to get a table.
Garrison Pease: So many baked treats. Loved the carrot cake and cannolis! Something for everyone with a sweet tooth!
Celeste De Palma: Best cannoli in Boston!!! This is controversial but true. This is where flavor lives. Period. Your tastebuds will thank you.I have done serious research over the years and time and time again, Modern's cannoli wins. I'd say Modern, then Bova's, then Royal's (Somerville), and then Mike's.Their pastries are delish, too. But Mike's Boston Cream pie is actually better than Modern's. Either way, Modern is still my favorite pastry shop. The line moves fast, too, so don't fret. Just avoid going duting Memorial weekend... that is just bananas all around the North End
Aaron Coppola: Bonkers crazy amazing good.Drop what you're doing and get there now!
Peter pawlik: Horrible service!!!We wanted to stay in the cafe and no one came to ask us what we would like to order. When we went up to the counter to place an order they told us to sit and wait. The guy was just on his phone totally ignoring us.So we just got up and left
Sebastian M: Clasico de Boston. La pastelería americana tradicional es representada por el Modern Pastry. Es ideal para pasar cannolis o alguna otra delicia.
Areeb Akhter: Their vanilla cupcake was not good - the frosting felt frozen almost as if it was made very early morning or the night before. If you come here, I would suggest getting a cannoli because that Hass to be made fresh in front of you, as opposed to some of their premade itemsThere is a bar at the bottom of the pastry shop, which is almost like a speakeasy, which is kind of cool
Lisa Sanchez: Love this place! Their cannoli are the best, not too sweet and you can taste the ricotta instead of just tasting sugar like other places.
Paul Ladd: If you are one of those people who looks at something and says, "Is it worth the calories", when it comes to Modern, the answer is yes. Their reputation proceeds itself and does not disappoint. There is a reason that there is almost always a line. It's freaking amazing. The cannolis are no joke. I should have opted for the smaller version just to be able to experience more of the options they offer. The traditional is as good as it gets though. Perfectly crisp shell, smooth creamy ricotta filling and loaded with chopped pistachios. And if you're a tiramisu freak, don't pass this one up. Great counter service too.
Seb T: Still the best cannolis and lobster tails (pastries), year after year! They are to die for. Of course there’s always a long line outside but service is pretty fast (and very expedited) and waiting’s all worth it.
allison huang: line moves fast, cash only, cannoli!!
Gabriel Tierre: Overpriced cannolis, horrible coffee. Nothing special. A definition of tourist trap. Ps: they only accept cash.
Isaac Cloud: Best cannoli ever created.
Ian Danquah: I went here for the cannolis and was not disappointed at all. You can create your own by selecting the shell, filling and additional toppings.

Finesse Pastries: what do users think?
Ayon Ibrahim: So far I’ve only tried the macarons but I like em! The staff are always friendly and courteous.
Tim Hasler: Wife and I took a class with Chef Chelsea and it was amazing! Also the end product turned out great and tasted amazing! Beyond the class, I've had Finesse Pastries multiple times and always love them. Definitely the best macarons I've ever had!
Sabrina Desir: Great bakery. I loved the details on the cake and macaroons.
Desiree Jean: I order my daughter’s cake for her 3rd birthday party on June 1st for July 10, 2021(date of event). I got a call on my way to pick up the cake saying her cake was damaged and unrepairable. Coincidentally the driver got into an accident and my child didn’t have a cake for her party that was in an hour. (The driver wasn’t delivering it to me he was coming from Somerville to the Boston location idk why but whatever) I had to scramble and buy a cake from a local grocery store. First time using this company definitely my last. Just disappointing.
Rebecca Fox: nice place but their food has a bit of expensive
Brittin Najjar: Great macaroons with great service. Lower than average prices for what is usually an expensive dessert. Still is a bit, but a bit less than other places, especially with the 6 and 12 boxes. Lots of different flavors to choose from. I would totally recommend.
Christina Kuntz: Wonderful French macarons. I had 3 different seasonal flavors and they were delicious.
Simonne Valdez: Vibrant colors and delicious flavor macarons.look how good these look! They taste good, make sure to eat them fresh!
Brit: We love the French Macarons. SO GOOD
Mia Peach: I'm here to share my concern of an incident that happened yesterday 9/29/2018. The place is still busy around 3:40 when a stall refrigerator fell on a female store associate. An associate from the stall next door was trying to squeezing through her way and tilted the fridge (~80in tall, 1 door, color silver). She noticed that the fridge was moving, by the time she turned around and attempted to grab it, fridge lost balance and fell on a young girl who was standing about 2-3 ft away, facing against it (towards customers). Girl got sandwiched between the tilted fridge and glass display of her stall for a few seconds before some guys from the store helped her out. She stood still, barely moved her shoulders or lips - she remained calm and kept quiet the whole time. Some 20 people witnessed it and instantly gathered around when a green-topped, short hair lady (looks like a supervisor) announced that she’s going to call “manager on-site”. Manager came before she called and the short-hair lady assured everyone that this would be taken care of. Some people in the crowd suggested calling 911 and shared their concern about work place injury but the manager didn’t seem to call anybody. In fact, two actions were observed in the next 20 minutes - fridge was lifted back up by two guys (there was a dent on the top of the fridge), and the girl was given an ice pack. The short-hair lady was with her for a few more minutes, the girl next door apologized to her. The manager (also a young lady) was contacted by two female witnesses afterwards, manager kept on nodding during the conversation. After they have left, manager did not call or get back to the girl in the accident. I understand that the girl needs to keep her job and didn’t want to make a scene, but it is also important for a victim to be able to hold on to some witness in case more severe medical issues are identified later on. I don’t care for the actions taken by the management because girl at least needs to be seen by medical professional, yet their attitude looked reassuring which got them out of the scene easily. I hope the girl is well supported by all means, that the management is dedicated to ensure workplace safety, and I will keep my comment here in case witness is needed at some point. I was too scared to take a picture, but some other reviewer (Audrey) had shared the layout of the stall from her posting.
Evan Richard: First visit to new Somerville location: place rules. Going to be my go-to for pastries and coffee.
Robert Spina: Go there for the macarons
Audrey “Theaudestcooper” Cooper: Fairly wide selection of unique flavors and classics. Flavor profiles are at times overwhelming, and intense, which isn't necessarily good in a macaron. Prepare yourself for the mint! Texture also seemed a bit off, and the macarons themselves are tiny! Overall a good treat if you're looking for macarons, but with so many other options, even just in the market, I'd go somewhere else.
Yousef Awwad: Love their macs! They rotate the flavors based on seasons too! Not to mention they're gluten free! Yum!!
Ann D: My first time at Finesse. I bought three pies for Thanksgiving. Apple, Pumpkin, and an Apricot Tart. All three were delicious. Will definitely buy more.
Laura C: ассортимент разочаровал (все видно на фото). Желание что то попробовать не возникло. И это 3 pm в воскресенье
