Pleased because one was the 3XL which is what I wanted to purchase.Found a unique White sweatshirt with Boston printed on in cool letters and colors.Staff very helpful and pleasant.
James Carson: Friendly and kind staff tons of options for trinkets to bring back home for friends or familyCheck them out!
Mike Morris: Fun little gift store!
Dena H.: Great place to go to grab your souvenirs. Has two floors filled with different items from shirts / clothing to shot glasses / mugs and way more! Perfect to grab all your gifts from
robert downs: Totally rude. The managers stood there and talked about their personal problems the whole time and not one time asked me if I needed help. I wanted an expensive sweater they had and walked up to them standing there while they continued with their personal problems conversation. After about 30 sec I finally had to cut them off just to ask them if they had a small. Their answer “no.” And they went back to their conversation. Not “oh let me see if I can help you, or let’s take a look.” Absolutely no effort at all like they didn’t care if we purchased. My wife and I were going to spend a couple hundred on that nice sweater plus souvenirs but I told her we were leaving. I walked out and she was like wow they were rude to you.Yeah we’ll spend our money elsewhere.

The Boston Gift Shop: what do users think?
Juliet “Jay Dubs” Whiskey: Very nice owner. Cool store for souvenirs to bring home for family members.
D’ma Extraordinaire: This little gift shop is the best place to go for your quality gifts and recommendations! Dan (proprietor) couldn’t have been any more friendly, or helpful! We purchased a 100% cotton t-shirt, which was excellent quality. We were looking for pizza recommendations and Dan suggested; “Umberto’s,” and man oh man, was he spot on!This Boston Gift store has been here since the 1800’s - so you know they’re doing it right!Thank you Dan!
Siena Walsh: Cute little shop with a friendly owner. Picked up some magnets for a good price. It is on the smaller side!
Abby Geiersbach: Ralph and his friend Michael are pure Boston! There are other shops but I was more than happy to spend my money and keep a business open. It was refreshing to talk with them.
Brendon Camp: Best prices I’ve seen in the city, super friendly family-owned business
Corina Fuentes: Lovely store! Very friendly place. Great selection and great prices. I liked this place so much I came by the store twice during my trip to Boston.
Bljbarn barnette: Very nice shop and staff!!! Will return! Thank you for your hospitality!
Ben Kuebler: Nicest Store owners on earth loved my experience here
Shawna: So nice with great selection at great prices. Thank you for helping my nephew get such cool stuff!!
Linda Nelson: Very warm and welcomingGood selection
Ang Estrada: It's very difficult to get here with no parking and the shop itself it is very small with little selection. The pedestrian area is nice for a walk and the surrounding buildings are very charming.
C D: Great souveniers!
mattshockwave !!: Very nice shop and great service
J Metzler: Great family shop.
Jillian Marsden: In boston for a few days and stopped in for goodies got some nice sweaters, the great grandson of the original shop owner was there and gave us some great recommendations and was very nice!!
Gennaro Zito: This place has fantastic souvenirs and is right on the freedom trail. More importantly, the owners genuinely seem like good people. They were very welcoming and I loved talking with them. If you are walking the freedom trail, you owe it to yourself to stop in the Boston Gift Shop
Mary Barrett: This is the best gift shop! We are expecting our first baby and we found the cutest little Boston onesies and children’s books here for amazing prices! Not to mention the man working there was so nice and sweet! Thank you for such a memorable experience!
Michelle Spain: The selection is great for both adults and kids, the gentleman that was there went to the back to find something that would work in a specific size I needed for my son (unprompted by me) and was so kind and patient, and the prices are unbeatable. In a time when customer service drives loyalty, they definitely earned mine.

Blackstone's of Beacon Hill: what do users think?
Tom McManus: Good selection of kitchenware akin to what you would find at Williams Sonoma but with the Boston markup. They have a very good selection of knives and allow you to test them. It would be nice to see more of a focus on supplying items that are not Chinese made
Rumni Banerjee: Very good collection of Kitchen wares.
Janet Pan: Oh my goodness- everyone at Blackstone’s is wonderful and they have such fun and beautiful things. I went in yesterday while pushing a stroller and they went out of their way to help me while I picked up a few gifts. Always love stopping in here!
Ada Brown: Cute shop with so many things I would have liked to have taken home with me. Very friendly staff. If you are in Boston take the time to stop in you won't be disappointed.
Joshua Leffler: So fortunate to have such a great business in Beacon Hill.
Katie: I regret supporting this business because they oppose safe bike infrastructure. I will not give them my business again.
PR Even: This is a very friendly place to shop and get your kitchen knives sharpened. I have been there many times. Today I was in to leave a couple of knives and also was able to buy THE perfect pitcher to make a sangria!
Judy Stitt: I arrived quite late on a Saturday- within 30 minutes of their closing time. I’d called earlier that afternoon to inquire, and the proprietor said they even try to sharpen knives the same day, especially if there is just one knife. I arrived so late that I wasn’t expecting any such service… but the proprietor did not complain a whit- he only very graciously took my knife to sharpen (for a reasonable price), then wrapped it in a cardboard sheaf for greater safety on my trip home. While there at the shop, I took the opportunity to purchase a second paring knife (for friends to use, since they sometimes offer to help prepare a meal while visiting). And then Blackstone’s proprietors gave me some suggestions of where I might like to celebrate my unexpectedly productive and pleasant late afternoon with a dinner out (which is likewise lovely, btw!).I would just want to correct any listing online that states Blackstone’s offers classes: They apparently haven’t for the past year or so, due to COVID concerns, I learned today, and the proprietor said they don’t have a kitchen on the premises. So that info just needs to be corrected (at least, for mid-summer 2022).
Joe Serodio: Love this place! If you’re ever in Beacon Hill, definitely drop by. The staff is friendly and very helpful. You need your knives sharpened? This is the place!
seth evans: I went to Blackstones today to get a special knife repaired - one which I thought was beyond fixing. Not only was the knife repaired by Jim (image below), the entire experience in Blackstones was first class.Jennifer Hill and her team are gem in the city of Boston…we will be back for sure.Highly recommended
Lisa Lee: Really cute items in this shop, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. I came in looking to make gift baskets for a professional event, and Leslie took so much time and effort to help me find the perfect items, catering to the recipients age groups and interests as well as my budget. Thanks!!
Jiho Park: Updated - Great staff and an amazing collection of items - we have enjoyed most of the products we bought from the store. There was a faulty item that we needed a replacement for - because the store was being renovated at the time, there was a delay and a bit of lack of communication, but Jennifer reached out to explain the situation and tried to resolve the problem. Now that I know the problem is being taken care of, I am happily updating my review as I look forward to picking up the replacement item and revisiting the store.
Daniel Lopez: A really cool and sweet shop in Beacon Hill! Has a very home cozy vibe and staff are lovely and caring. Located right next to the Paramount if you wanted to stop by before or after. They have plenty of house necessities in case of an emergency and you happen to live by. Also a bunch of tourist items as well!
Jaime V: Beautiful shop
Ashley Vo: I love this place. Like everyone said, they really know their knives and are happy to answer any questions you have about them. Used their knife sharpening service and the knives came out great. Cutting meat the next day with them was blissfully easy. The shop is small, but cute with many tools needed for the kitchen. Highly recommend checking it out if you like to cook.
Christina Carson: The owners of the store were very friendly and helpful! I brought in a knife that had a chip in the blade and they were able to sharpen and repair the blade within minutes. Great customer service!
Sam Flood: Knife Sharpening Class: Tanisha was really helpful in stone sharpening techniques for both German and Japanese knives - the process once learned is actually pretty simple but good to have someone work through with you. Additionally Tanisha provided insights into different types of knives and best practices for use. I enjoyed the individual class a lot and as a bonus they sharpen your existing knives. Totally worth the time. Thx for positive experience Tanisha. I will be back!
Lucas P: Needed to get some new utensils (chopsticks and soup spoons).Found out on Google that they had them here for prices far below what you could find on Amazon.Staff were extremely helpful. Will be back
Gregory Loukas: I went in to have my kitchen knives sharpened and had a great experience. Awesome customer service and a nice shop.
Ben Jones: I had a great experience at Blackstones. The staff was incredibly helpful and showed me how sharpen my knives. I will be back!
Lucas Sikina: Knife Sharpening - Good, not great.I got my chef's knife sharpened here. Prior to getting it sharpened, it had 9 months of decent use and was pretty dull. After, it was fairly sharp, but not as sharp as it was brand new. Specifically, I found that slicing delicate fruits / veg still sometimes ended up with some squashing.I ended up sharpening my knife my self later. Learning how to sharpen it was exhausting, and not very fast, but it produced a significantly sharper knife. The people at the shop were friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. I would recommend their sharpening services for someone who wants a sharper knife, but not for someone who wants a razor sharp knife.

Bodega: what do users think?
Wendy Law: I wish I had read the reviews before ordering online. The first order confirmation said up to 21 days for processing, but then when I contacted customer service, I got a generic response of “we’re extreme busy, orders taking 21 days or more to process” and they could not give me any other updates. It’s been almost a month now and still no update on delivery. 😡***Wow! After your response yesterday stating that my order would be shipped by the end of the week, now I get an email saying my order has been cancelled???!!! What kind of business are you running here!? This seems a bit retaliatory? I just wanted the products I ordered, never asked the order be cancelled! Horrible business! I will be filing a complaint with the Attorney General’s office!***
Sergey Golod: Don't wast your time and money! Going on 9 day and still nothing has shipped, the worst customer service ever. Don't be fooled take your biz elsewhere! "Store"... hahah! You miserable clowns and petty thieves.
Mo Shen: Horrible online customer service. I bought a birthday gift for a friend which did not even ship out 2 weeks after placing the order. I emailed them to cancel since it wouldn’t arrive on time. They gave a rude response as if I was at fault for not reading their FAQ about sale items (the FAQ made no mention of cancellations about sale items, and based on a few of the reviews below this store has no problem with randomly cancelling items even after an order is placed). Honestly, if they had just apologized and gave me an estimated shipment date I would have been fine even if they didn’t allow cancellations. But the customer service was abysmal, responses were obviously super low effort or copy-pasted, and still no update on when my order will even be SHIPPED, let alone delivered.
Joe Madera: Worst. Service. Ever. BUYER BEWARE. Stop holding my money hostage!Wasnt told prior to purchase that shoes would take 3 weeks to ship out. Was told that since the purchase I made was "in high demand" I cant have my order cancelled. All sizes are in stock still for both shoes. What demand? Customer service email is absolutely useless. You get the BS canned answer that they cant do anything. The truth is that they can and they dont want to.Disputing this with my card company. Most of the recent reviews on this place are negative, I wish I knew that before. Cue the owner somehow blaming this atrocious customer service and bad business practice on me below. Do the right thing and process my refund and I'll change my review.UPDATE: After disputing the transaction with my card company I was able to finally get a cancellation notice and refund. I would advise anybody in the same situation do the same thing. They make it difficult on purpose.Bodega could be the last shoe store on Earth and I'd go barefoot. Never again.
Kay Cee: I didn't want to believe reviews but honestly do not purchase online. If you live in Boston, feel free to go in store but don't waste your time otherwise. Not only did I have to wait 2 weeks for any order confirmation to be sent to me, I received an email this morning that my order was canceled. I REALLY wanted those sneakers. So thank you for wasting my time and letting me down.
Quentin Tucker: Finally received my order after exactly one month. I purchased 3 pairs of shoes , at a great price. But I soon realized “you get what you pay for”Opened my box to find one shoe box damaged. I ignored that part in my complaint because you can’t wear the shoe box. But the way my box was packed , was wild in itself. If a company is so busy that you must wait 21 business days for an order to ship , you would think said company would be invested in proper packaging.I checked the first box and found a clearly worn pair of shoes. Clearly worn with scuff marks, toe box stains , outsole stains and all. When I reached out I was told I can keep the shoes and get 15% off or return them for a full refund , and then make another order. But then at that point I must wait another 21 BUSINESS days for my shoes. All of this FOR BODEGA’S MISTAKE.Not only am I asked to be patient for extended shipping times , I’m also asked to tolerate and be understanding of Bodega’s poor processes and execution. Why is there no urgency in fixing your mistake ? Why is there no formal exchange process? Why no accountability, here as a business ?Whoever reads this be careful shopping online here. If you buy any sales items you’re not going to be treated like a regular customer 🤯🤯.
Nicholas Wilkes: (Online Only)My issue was resolved timely and the effort is appreciated.Overall it is a great site that’s well curated. Bodega is usually my first choice when it comes to drops or more unique pieces to fill out my wardrobe
Blank Facee: DO NOT ORDER WITH THIS COMPANY ! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE & NO PROFESSIONALISM!I ordered 3 shirts from them recently . In the initial confirmation email they informed me due to high volume order would ship within 21 days. I was fine with that… After about 4 full weeks(28 days) and not being sent , I contacted them to see if I could cancel my order, they told me I couldn’t because my shirts were sale items. Not ideal but this isn’t even my issue.. it gets worse. The issue is the items still weren’t shipped for another few days and all of a sudden they told me one of my shirts would be canceled & refunded.. they did process a partial refund. However, one email said a specific shirt would be canceled but the shipping info said that same shirt had been sent. From there I knew something was fishy but I had no option but to wait until my package arrived for final results. Upon receiving my package today ,I noticed they only sent ONE SHIRT.. I waited over a month for a package, which was almost 2 weeks longer than they told me , just to only receive 1/3 of what I originally ordered !! Never again!! This has been the worst online shopping experience I’ve ever had .
DJ: Should've of read the reviews before making a purchase online regarding their unreasonable fulfillment time. Ordered my item a week ago (6+ business days), and it still hasn't been shipped out yet. WHY NOT PUT OUT A DISCLAIMER BEFORE MAKING THE PURCHASE THAT THE FULFILLMENT MAY TAKE UP TO 21 DAYS ( why on earth is this your online order policy? just stop doing online orders period if this is the case). Anyways when I reached out their response was "Thank you for reaching out DJ and for your patronage. Your last order is currently being fulfilled. You will receive an email with your tracking number as soon as it leaves our facility."..........that was four days ago.INCOMPETENT
Francesca Parnham: Always a fun experience to pop into Bodega when we are in Boston! High priced merchandise but very rare and speciality.
伊太利亜: I cannot recommend shopping at this store.Credit card payment processing is very fast. The shipping process for the purchased items will not be processed indefinitely.Very unpleasant.Who would have thought there would be such an inefficient shop in this day and age? It's definitely faster to go shopping directly. At the beginning of the online store, our store is very slow to ship. Please understand and I want you to buy it.I'm tired of checking my email every day to see if the item has been shipped.I can only sigh.
Paul Keady: Leaving one star because I have to. Absolutely ridiculously rude bouncer. The bouncer randomly thought I’d been drinking so didn’t let me in, even though I was not drunk. Every single person that enters bodega has been drinking. I was disrespected and even when my girlfriend told him she was drunk he said she could go in but I couldn’t. The bouncer just decided to single me out for no reason, again I was not intoxicated. He would not give us an explanation and wouldn’t even let us speak to a manager when we asked to. I have never encountered someone so rude and entitled in my life. I will never go here again and I highly suggest no one else ever attempt to go here. I quite literally was completely fine and told I could not enter for no reason and was not even allowed to talk to anyone. I highly suggest you do not waste your time here
M. Lewis: 10/10. My Mini Me was with me, and the staff was chill with her preschool exploration and curiosity. Staff was dope with my requests and helped me price things online. I will definitely be back! Awaiting my online haul 🤟🏾✌🏾
John Dough: One of a kind store.
charlie chau: They don’t want to sell you shoes. They do not like people. Employee talks about you behind your back. Not a friendly place.
Amy Brewster: Visiting from Canada and I took my son in for the first time today. The gal that helped us find sizes was super helpful and kind, and so was the guy who checked us out. Music vibe was on point and the whole environment was just so chill and welcoming. It’ll be a stop for us any time we’re back in Boston, and I’d recommend everyone else to check it out too. What a cool store.
eddie park: Going on 12 days and still nothing has shipped ,the worst customer service ever . don't be fooled take your biz elsewhere.
Koby Au: I have wait nearly 2 weeks to wait the item to dispatch! Today they suddenly canceled 1 of my item. And force me to pay expensive shipping for just 1 item. They don’t let me cancel the whole order. order #588159.The worst online shopping experience!
Joshua Parker: This might be a great place to shop “in store.” Please be warned though for all that read this - their customer service is absolutely atrocious. I’m not just being hateful when I say that it really shouldn’t even exist. They literally never give a personal response. It’s just automated garbage that is completely unhelpful. And I seriously wish anyone good luck buying from them online. My first experience ordering online was a 3 week wait period before waiting to ship. It never did so I finally cancelled. I tried again a few months later. Surprisingly, it went well. So I thought, I’ll give them another try. Well, same as before. Waiting for weeks on a shipment with no updates or customer service help of any kind. In a world that is substantially based on e-commerce, this kind of service is absolutely unacceptable. They need to do away with online orders and stick to selling in shop, I’ve heard the shop is a good experience.
Audriane Flamand: It was neat to see, but we'd never afford anything inside. Just wanted to show our teen the spot.
A P: Trash. Cancelled my order but let bots eat

December Thieves: what do users think?
S S: Unfortunately, the receipt of my order was problematic due to UPS related handling / delivery issues. However, December Thieves management promptly addressed and resolved UPS failure to process and deliver my package. Fortunately, I received my significantly delayed order immediately following December Thieves proactive actions. I highly commend management for their professional, personable, and quality customer service (which of course, is vital to maintaining established customers, cultivating new ones, and increasing business productivity and revenue).
Nicholas Mahoney: I got a cool Medusa ring from here a few months ago I was very pleased with the service that the staff provided. All the items here absolutely beautiful I would definitely recommend coming here for gift's 🤯🤓
Secret Santa: I love this store! The service is amazing and it had absolutely everything I needed. I'm definitely going to make it my go-to shop and I recommend it for all.
E Will: Wonderfully refreshing modern women store with one of a kind wearable’s. Wish I lived closer so I could visit often as their inventory changes.
Kristine Fitts: My daughters and I traveled to Boston from Alabama on our way to Martha’s Vineyard. The XV Beacon where we stayed offered car service so we had them drop us off on Charles Street (our driver’s suggestion!). We set out going in and out of all the cute shops but we were awestruck by December Thieves windows! So we went in to shop and did not leave empty-handed! It would be impossible to! Their designers are so forward, all the pieces are beautiful and unique. Great shoes, great jewelry and fun and funky accessories (a lacquered tray is next on my purchase list). I bought a long flowy black dress by a Russian designer that is out of this world fabulous! I can hardly wait to wear it. The sister store is as wonderful-the home goods and accessories are way a cut above your typical gift shop. My daughter bought a straw backpack tote with leather straps that is lightweight and great looking on. I bought several fragrances and a wonderful travel size lavender hand sanitizer. YOU MUST have something gift wrapped too. Another cut above! So glad I can continue shopping these two stores online! I wish I had taken a photo of the windows-you must see for yourself though! So go!!!!!
Sandro Consoli: Great curated collection of up-and-coming designers. Unique pieces and good vibe. 👍
Liz Woodall: Great store, such unique items - I love it. And fantastic customer service, I made a mistake (my own fault) during my online order and they resolved my issue so quickly - I was very grateful
Niki Vale - Fine California Homes - Real Estate: Edgy, divine, sophisticated, gorgeous leather, home, accessories, kids, gift, Best of Boston cuz it is everything!
Local Maker: I've shopped both locations on Charles Street (51 and 88) in Beacon Hill and LOVE both shops. The products are so well curated and are super unique, most are from small designers in Europe and you won't see these pieces anywhere else. Everyone working in the stores are friendly, helpful and have amazing style. No doubt you will love it there.
Alice H.: This is definitely my go to store in Boston for home & lifestyle(they have a sister store focused on fashion just a few doors down)! An amazing independent shop that features global Emerging designers. Edgy, creative, unique, stylish one of a kind pieces curated specially by the owner herself! I've decorated not only my apartment with the beautiful trays, exotic glassware and candles but have also given a few pieces as gifts. Best of Boston 4 yrs in a row!
Elizabeth Christie: Very cute shop. Worker was very friendly.
colleen clark: Do I really want everyone to know about this magical place? Or should I keep it my little secret. Oh snap. I forgot, they do win Best of Boston every year, and my faves sell out fast, so...If you are a member of the Tribe of Heist, you'll know it at first breath. Your moment of curiosity (windows = art) will be feeding your imagination an hour later. Try leaving with just one delightful wardrobe-changer. Just try. If you're successful, share your secret. I'll be at sister store, December Thieves, my first love.

SAULT New England: what do users think?
Christopher Link: SAULT New England is a small, primarily men's clothing store that somehow has everything I need. They focus on casual, often American made, and skew towards preppy. If there's such a thing as New England fashion, this is where you'll find it.
Stephen Dings: Great store featuring high quality 🇺🇸American, 🇺🇸-regional, and international made brands. Staff are friendly, helpful, and help you see the value behind the price. Looking forward to the future!
Joe Campbell: Great place. Always right on with coolest nicknacks, upto date clothing and great coffee tables book. Very friendly atmosphere. Feels like family!Joe campbellCampbell soup company
Daniel Grant: Everything about this store is amazing! They carry really high quality products from great brands. I love how much they focus on selling items that are made right here in the United States. The staff is always very knowledgeable and friendly. Both this location and the one in Portsmouth are fantastic places to shop!
Fabrizio Gentili: great selection of always fun items to wear and to gift.
Ben Bernardi: Wonderful customer service and amazing clothes! Highly recommend
Kat Dawson: This is where my Jackson goes for all his baseball caps. He won't shop anywhere else!
Brent Simmons: We were in Boston for the weekend for a Red Sox game and we ventured to Tremont for a day. This neighborhood was so great, very good energy and things to do in the area along with some great food spots nearby. We were given some local spots around the area by the man running the store. He helped us find a few more shops along Tremont which were great too, Olives + Grace being one of them! The selection of goods in Sault definitely were displayed eloquently, and they had great size runs in styles that represent the fashion of the region and place you right back in New England!
Andrew Ferdon: It seemed very nice but way too overpriced.
Randall Ung: Nice selection of apparel and interesting trinkets. This is where I go when traveling to Boston and I need (forget) clothing. Also good for gifts too.
Alexander Grossomanides: SAULT is a Boston south end gem. Its a small uniquely curated new england vibe store. Everything is hand selected by the owner Phillip, and he knows new england style well. Need to check this out if your in Boston!
Andre Leroux: Boutique for men. Got some great little gifts for my son who just turned 18. Small shop but unique and interesting selection of quality items
William Toll: Overpriced hipster items
Ali Freezman: Nice gift options, limited sizes.
Moonyoung Lee: I really like this store and have several of their t-shirts. Lots of cool gift ideas.
John Frechette: One of my favorite stops when back in Boston. It is a tiny little shop, but it is packed with goodies. Love the mix of Jack Spade, funny cards, cool gifts and collected books.
Jason Jones: Great selection, friendly service, dog friendly.
Sean Frederick: The masculine wares inside this smartly-designed South End boutique are a tribute to quintessential Yankee style - that of the JFK, knit tie, and Bean Boot variety. A great gift destination, here you'll find clothing, accessories, books, decor, and ephemera for the impossible-to-shop-for guy who has everything - even if that guy is yourself! The mix of merchandise is varied in both price and scale, so during the holiday season you can count on being able to leave with at least a few stocking-stuffers that won't break the bank. But, if you've got the time (and budget), allow the store's incredibly helpful staff - including Phillip, the gracious and ever-present owner - to guide you through their carefully-selected vintage inventory or pick out a locally-designed tie... one that the recipient will actually wear!
Kristen: I dropped by recently to buy my brother a gift. They have a wonderfully curated selection of apparel, accessories, and random doo-dads! Beer soap, aftershave, scarves, bags, you name it. Every guy should own things from this place! The cherry on top is that the service was excellent, so go here! You'll be supporting another local business that deserves it.
