Kate gives Dr Markarian’s office a cheap atmosphere.I was left with dog ears and he pretended he didn’t notice at our last visit. He covered them with my undies for my after photo which is fine with me cause I would never force myself to deal with Kate ever again. She’s as atrocious as the reviews mention. I wouldn’t go back to Dr Markarian for MORE surgery but I am glad I got to have a tummy tuck. The belly button is nice and I am flat but my dog ears are very blatant and I wasn’t about to beg after I already paid 16,500.00 for some reason I was charge 2k more than any of his other patients I spoke with who had the same work and flank lipo was not done to my back side as I asked in our first convo … this was confirmed at my last app when he said “and we didn’t take any off the back” I smiled and was polite the entire time but he has an arrogance that makes it difficult to speak up when you don’t like soemtjing. Don’t let them bully you. His work is amazing and he is a great surgeon with an attention to detail but he also seems to play favorites with different patients and it’s practice, he has that right! Dr. Markarian came and did an exceptional job stitching her lip. He was very matter of fact, provided excellent communication, and was compassionate toward anxious parents. He told us he didn't think her lip would scar even after putting in 15 stitches. We doubted him at first, but now, two weeks post procedure, we can hardly tell she had any trauma to the area.Great doctor! You're in great hands with him.

My initial consult was in April 2021 for a rhino-septoplasty, but I had to unexpectedly put my surgery plans on hold for a while. Fast forward to April 2022, I reached out to the office again to get things moving along. I had a second virtual & in-office consult and was confident in my decision to move forward with Dr. Markarian.At the second in-office visit, I met with Kate after seeing Dr. Markarian. I let her know I was ready to put the deposit that day and schedule the surgery. She told me that she couldn’t proceed until I got approval from my PCP that I could go under anesthesia. I’ve never had any surgery before, so I trusted her instructions. When I called my PCP, they told me that they couldn’t see me until I had the procedure booked.I called Kate back for clarification on the process. She was the rudest, most disrespectful person I have ever spoken to at any business. I understand that mistakes/miscommunications can happen, but the way she spoke to me was very unprofessional. She kept repeatedly talking over me and treated me like I was stupid. She then told me that I need to put in a deposit before she could schedule. I said I was ready to do so but wanted to know what dates Dr. Markarian had available, or at least a general idea. She couldn’t give me any dates and told me she can’t look at the schedule until I put the deposit in. She was awful to deal with. I was really upset with how I was treated, so I emailed Casey and asked to speak to someone else about booking. Casey scheduled a call with Dr. Markarian for that evening, but then she had to immediately cancel it.The following morning, Kate called and told me that I should find another surgeon. When I asked why, she said it was because I couldn’t work with her, and that I asked too many questions. I was in complete shock that this was a reason. First of all, I am not there for her - I am there for Dr. Markarian. Second, surgery is a major decision, and I should have my questions answered by both the doctor and staff, especially if I’m dropping nearly $20K. I told her that I wanted to speak to Dr. Markarian, since Kate acts like she owns the practice.To my surprise, Dr. Markarian called me back. I asked him directly if he still wanted to work together, and he said yes. I told him that I was ready to put the deposit down that day. He said he’d have his staff call me back. No one called, and I was not going to chase after them.I am upset that things turned out this way, especially since I waited so long and was looking to have 4 different procedures with him over the next 1-2 years. Many of Dr. Markarian’s negative reviews are about his staff, especially Kate. If he wants to keep her around, that’s obviously his problem. However, he should reconsider who’s dealing with potential new patients for the sake of his business. Dr. Markarian may be a good surgeon, but the way he runs his business is unprofessional.I probably dodged a bullet with this office. If it was difficult to get the procedure booked and I “asked too many questions” then I can’t imagine what a nightmare it would be to deal with them if I had any post-op concerns/issues.

The first time I tried to book months ago I messaged quite a few times and received no response at all. This time after a couple messages I was able to book...but then there was no communication about how I would be contacted for the consultation. I checked my email, my calendar for invites, my phone for calls, nothing. 10 minutes after the consultation should have started I received a text from Dr. Markarian asking if my phone number was the right one for me and I responded that it was and then...nothing. I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do.

J Lopez: I'm truly baffled by all the stellar reviews on Google, not sure if they are legit.Went to a pre-surgery consultation, paid $150 and had worst experience. Doctor rushed through the in-person consult, 15m max, and to top it off the staff is another major concern.This practice needs a more qualified staff to offer better customer service, they don't respond to questions or concerns you may have. However to get your $150 they respond quickly to engage you in coming in. Once you get the process started you will have to deal with his staff, (KATE) awful person, rude, discriminates patients. "Words can't explain to tell you how bad of a customer service this practice haves . I still don't understand how a well educated professional as Dr. Markarian has such an awful unprofessional staff. They make you feel like if you're asking for a free procedure, when in reality they are charging for a simple procedure $17,000 +.....which is outrageous, and receiving a bad service. I believe if you decided to move forward with a plastic surgery, try to find a practice that shows they care and if you have any questions you are certain you will find answers. Not get your calls not answered, or being told call you back we are busy right now. And you never hear back.... Just Awful experience all the way. And definitely that lady (Kate) needs to go. She's not a profesional, and talks like she owns the practice.Please think twice, this is not the place you would want to have plastic surgery in.

However, I am satisfied with my experience I just wish more cutting edge options were available from this team as they are the perfect team to take them on. My only criticism is that the office could have done a better job at talking to me pre surgery re anxiety and anti-anxiety medication options as this was the most anxiety ridden time of my life the few weeks pre surgery. Lee Zagorski: I first found Dr. Doherty when I was googling Boston and Baby Botox. I had been to a few other places around the city for my Botox and each time I left with a completely frozen face, which left me feeling uncomfortable and looking like a different person. Sandrine O'Brien: I had a umbilical hernia repaired by Dr Reinhorn and the whole process was great. I was nervous about getting some mesh inserted in my body but after a month, I feel totally normal, no pain. I am back to normal. The surgery went well, they have a great system going and the post op recovery was also good. I went for a walk 2 days after the surgery and a week later I was doing my 10k steps a day no problem. I highly recommend the practice and Dr Reinhorn. If you need a hernia repaired, don't hesitate one second.

Tylor F: Great doctor and surgery. I got the shouldice repair for a left inguinal hernia. The pain was pretty bad the night and day after the surgery but day 2 and beyond is much more tolerable. I started a water fast about 36 hours before the procedure and 24 hours after surgery since research seems to show that wounds heal faster when fasting before and after surgery so that may have helped a lot. The doctor, facility, and supporting staff were great throughout the whole process. Thank you so much for bringing me back to full health.

Louis Anthony: It has been about six weeks since my surgery. I waited for over three years to address the hernia simply because I dreaded the surgery and read about too many issues resulting from it. As a result my hernia became very large and more painful. Luckily, I researched and discovered Dr. Reinhorn and his hernia practice that specializes in hernia repair. He was reasuring, kind and I felt in very good hands because he is so well qualified. I went through a day surgery at the surgery center. Everyone was respectful and caring. My fears were quickly allayed once I was there and felt in such competent care with the whole team. Dr. Reinhorn explained that day how the surgery would go and what to expect after surgery including any swelling or pain so that I wouldn’t freak out. The first week I only needed Advil/Tylenol for the pain. Dr. Reinhorn and his assistant did a fantastic job, the scar was minimal, and now it is barely noticeable, and after two weeks the swelling went down and I felt almost back to normal. Now I am back working out, weight lifting and running, and my abdomen looks like it did before the hernia. There is only a little tenderness which is slowly getting better. I only wish I had done this procedure three years ago as it would have saved me so much anxiety, pain, and depression. Dr. Reinhorn and his team are the best and I am so grateful to them for my great care and results!

Rahul Mhatre: Great Surgeon. Dr Reinhorn is very knowledgeable. He addresses all your concerns and questions. He Is an expert in this area of surgeries and is up-to-date with the latest surgical techniques.I had an inguinal hernia. My surgery had no issues. I had no postop pain and did not need any kind of pain medication. I took all the care doctor provided and was working and driving the first week and resumed my activities in 2 weeks.

Norm Ephraim: I had Shouldice inguinal hernia repair on Sept.29 2022. Originally i wanted mesh but Dr. Reinhorn suggested Shouldice non mesh repair because I previously had HIFU ( High Frequency Ultrasound) prostate cancer treatment. My incision was only about 6 inches and three days after surgery I've stopped taking any pain medicine. i only used Advil and Tylenol but I have some suggestions for others. I was nervous about using too much Tylenol given the danger to one's liver so I only took one or two 325mg pills- not the extra strength. I took three 200 mg Advil but please be aware of constipation from Ibuprofin. In fact, the constipation surprisingly has been the biggest pain! I knew that hydrocodone made you constipated but I've learned that ibuprofin does as well. Take a laxative, lots of water, etc but I'd actually recommend keeping the Advil to only two 200 mg pills if possible for your pain. All in all I am VERY pleased with my surgery and I strongly recommend that you have surgery with Dr. Reinhorn. He is really the best !

Bob Noonan: Dr. Reinhorn is the surgeon you should choose to repair your hernia. He has more than 20 years taking excellent care of his many patients. In my case, Dr. Reinhorn literally had to reconstruct my abdominal wall, in order to correct a failed hernia surgery from 10 years ago.

My issue is after meeting with the doctor I was quickly turned away and referred elsewhere. They don't treat complex hernia's. When I made the appointment I specifically stated I had a more severe hernia. "No problem, come on down"... So after hours of travelling and 5 minutes with a doctor I was out 350 dollars, out of my pocket. I've reached out for a refund and have heard nothing in return. Fritz Henry: Back in the 90's, I had an open-mesh hernia repair on the right side. It bothered me for several years. When I developed a hernia on the left side in 2020, my original surgeon was no longer in practice, but the surgeon I saw in San Francisco told me I needed to have a laparoscopic procedure. Quick, easy, and fast recovery, he said. Yes, but requires general anesthesia and they still use mesh. Looking for an alternative, I found Dr. Reinhorn on line. I got on a plane and went to see him in the Boston area. Found him to be knowledgeable and very patient-friendly. I was very nervous and asked a ton of questions. He answered them all. Had the procedure done by him at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Very quick--- in and out the same day. I was walking on the beach at home that afternoon, in contrast to my previous operation where I was in bed for 3 days! Now, a year later, I feel great. Very minimal scar. I do any activity I want. My experience with Dr. Reinhorn was very positive---Recommended!

He is a busy man, and after consultation a date for surgery was set for January,24, 2022, But a cancellation permitted surgery on December 17th.Everything went very well, and I am recovering nicely. K C: Dr Reinhorn and staff were great. He quickly diagnosed my problem (which had been overlooked by many other doctors) and walked me through the process in a very patient way. On the day of surgery the team was great, the process was easy, and I had my bilateral hernia repair. All went well and I am now 3.5 weeks out and continue to improve. One side had a bit more inflammation than the other and was a little more irritating in the first 7-10 days but all in all it is within the range of what I expected. A couple of days after surgery I did notice that difference in discomfort between the two sides and called the office to be sure it was normal and Dr Reinhorn made time for me within a few hours to have me in the office to confirm all was well and to quell my concerns. Indeed everything was fine, each case can be a bit different, and it just needed time to heal and each day has been better and better. I am now able to do most activities and will start athletic training again in two days.To explain for those that don't know what to expect regarding pain: in the first 3-5 days I did have significant discomfort when moving about but nearly no pain when lying still. Nothing horrible, just what you might expect when you cut open in your abdomen! I stuck with the recommendation to use just ibuprofen and acetominophen and that helped a lot. I have stomach sensitivity to repeated ibuprofen dosing and after about 2 days of constant dosing I had to take a break and that is when the pain started to come on a bit more. However, after a 2 day break from it I dosed ibroprofen here and there and that helped with the inflammation and discomfort for sure. So all things considered it was not bad. After about 10 days there was just some strange sensations when i moved around as things healed but it really has improved every day. I'd say for the first 3-5 days I took it very slow walking but after that it was a lot easier and after 2 weeks there were no problems at all. I really look forward to being active again and now without these hernias it should be a lot better with less pain.5 stars for Dr Reinhorn and staff!
