Emmanuel Londono: Friendly staff. Very friendly bouncer. Not beginner friendly. You DO NEED a partner for this place. Website clearly states no partner needed. You dance solo non beginner friendly báchata/salsa for 10-15 minutes which was fun. THEN you NEED a partner. One of the gentleman that came to learn solo, poor guy walked around for 10-15 minutes trying to find someone but obviously couldn’t SINCE YOU NEED A PARTNER.5 guys sitting alone on seats because they came alone with the intention to strictly learn. DO NOT COME IF you are single, or did not bring a friend… at least offer solo dancing if you’re going to state no partner needed. Waste of money. I’m not shy AT ALL, and social interactions I excel at. Frustrated since I paid 15 dollars to dance 15 minutes.Cute place for a date, or learning WITH A PARTNER. The beginner friendly dancing Is like expecting a 4 year old child to read a short 300 page novel...( I know how to get by with bachata) Manage your own expectations. I would’ve danced more beginner friendly bachata at a club or bar much more easily, and would’ve easily found a “partner” there.

A& A: Come here for great fun salsa! Not snobby. Friendly dancers of all races were here on Tuesday. The entrance was free before 9pm on Tuesday May 2nd 2017. This was recommended by a friend who lives locally. Would come back here again.
Hazel Anne Salvador: My partner and I went to the Saturday salsa + bachata dance lesson and after party. We enjoyed our night so much, and will definitely be back again soon. The instructors, music, and drinks were wonderful. Any dancer of all levels will enjoy it here. Btw, there is a coat and bag check there which is free
Nathaniel: Seemed great if you already know how to dance, but if youre a beginner don’t bother. The lessons are awful if you don’t already know dances. Within the first 2 minutes they just started saying numbers without telling what’s going on. Half the people don’t know what’s happening and the instructors act like it should be common knowledge. If you don’t know how to dance and want to be embarrassed then this is your place.
Craig Martin: I go somewhat regularly and it's made me a much better dancer - still a long way to go. I saw another review complaining about the bouncer and the vaccine card policy. Every time I go, the bouncer gives me a big smile and thanks me for coming. Very nice person just like the rest of the staff. I've never had a bad experience and I appreciate knowing everyone inside is vaccinated.

Shih-Yuan Liu: Havana Club is one of the best places to dance bachata in Boston. I am a regular, and I really like the very spacious hardwood dance floor, the friendly atmosphere and people, and the wonderful music. Jeff makes a point in keeping the dancers safe. The staff shows strong professionalism and high integrity. Today, I lost my wedding band; Jeff and his wonderful staff made a real effort in finding my ring. I am extremely grateful that they found it and returned it to me on the same day. If you like latin dance, I highly recommend Havana Club!
A.J. Mills: Please be careful here. I am not sure if it was staff or another patron, but someone put something in my drink here last night. I am a 6 foot 270lb man, this can happen to anyone. I’m lucky my friends were there to take care of me, things could have been much worse.Edit after Owner Response:I am glad that, as an owner, you memorize each patron at the bar every night and your first instinct is to deflect rather than seeking more info. Sadly this is to be expected based off of the tone in other review responses. This is a disgusting problem rampant all over the city and I, as a bar owner, would be be focused on ensuring the safety of my patrons. Again, I am thankful that I was not alone, as my friends were able to make sure I got home safely, something I would not have been able to do on my own. As I said, this can happen to anyone at any time--go out in groups, and stay vigilant.
Charles Jacobs: Strict vaccine card policy and rude bouncer who prides himself in turning people away.I presented an iPhone photo of my Passport (which has been accepted at ever bar I’ve gone to in Boston and Chicago…) and bouncer insisted that it was invalid.I offered to show him matching insurance cards, bank accounts, social media accounts etc. but he was insistent on that not being “valid” because of everyone’s “safety.”😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑 Really?He bragged how he “once sent a guy all the way back to Lowell.”When I asked to speak to anyone else inside, like a manager/owner, the answer was a hard no…Went home but didn’t end up going back because I was so turned off by this guy.I realize he was “just doing his job,” but why not accept this form of ID when EVERYWHERE else I’ve gone has accepted this? Any explanation?This was my first time going to visit here and my last time trying to visit here.I will Not be making a second attempt to visit.(Visited on 8/2/2022)
Terri O'Brien: I have a medical exemption for the vax but couldn't get in. Vaxed people get & transmit Covid. I test every week but can't get in. No one wears a mask. I find this practice discriminatory, political & completely nonsensical.It would make more sense to me if masks were also required but yes I will absolutely respect your decisions and policies. I look forward to a time when none of this is necessary. Enjoy your day.

Lena Owens: Great place to dance, definitely would recommend it. Space is large but on the interior so there aren’t any windows. Stayed pretty cool on a hot day because of their large fans. Staff were nice and bathrooms were clean!
Patience Jackson: The atmosphere looks great! Didn't get to experience it though because my husband and I didn't have proof of vaccination. Definitely bring it with you if you have it! We came all that way and couldn't come in :(

Amber Kemp: I never leave poor reviews but this evening at hava was borderline traumatic. My friends and I went for a comedy show, which was fantastic. After the comedy show we needed to use the restroom which is downstairs on the same floor as their “night club”. From the staff to the owner, my friends and I were disrespected, mishandled and downright treated poorly. We exited the restroom bombarded with staff saying we needed to pay to be in said night club and nearly man handled my friend out of the building. We had no interest in the sleezy club yet because we were on the same floor using the bathroom they insisted we owed a cover charge and excused us from the building accusing us of trying to get a “free ride”. I have never felt so livid, disrespected and helpless. The comedians were terrific but be VERY wary of the venue.

Ticket was for 9, I arrived around 10:15, there was literally no line, and the bouncer made me wait in the rain for 20 minutes it was so weird. If I'm paying $65 for a ticket, I don't want to be waiting in the rain for 20 minutes when there is literally no line.We get in there, checking in went quick, coat check was very affordable. Most of the staff was very cold though.We hit the dance floor and the speakers were literally so awful it sounded like someone's phone in a cup (like actually). I asked one of the bouncers why the music was so scratchy and quiet, and he said it was because they couldn't turn on the real speakers until 11:45 because the place they rent from above them was hosting another event and the club has to stay quiet. I was like ok its NYE, my friends and I paid well over $200 just to get in here and there is no actual music....in a CLUB until 11:45 on nye.AND to top this off, my friend was over served and when she asked for water the bartender said "oh we don't have that here" which was just absurd.Whole thing felt scammy an unwell.

He found my friends door bag after every single employee of the club was pushing us out. Michael came through and really understood the severity of the situation due to the mission Dior duffle bay. Again Michael deserves at least a 20k raise. He found the bag and is the Goat in life. Big thanks we love u forever Michael. Drinks on us after finals weeks ❤️

This facility is not for those who want to enjoy a luxurious night life experience in Boston. The cover charge is $30 which is definitely overpriced in my opinion. Spencer: Grad school buddies and I (all in our late 20s/early 30s) wanted to check out a new spot for nightlife and went last night. Cover was $40 and if I had to guess I’d say conservatively 90% of the crowd got in with fake IDs. Not exactly our scene these days. If you’re under 21 and looking for a club in Boston, this seems like your spot. If you’re an adult looking to go out, skip this place.
Rachel: The bouncers out front were extremely rude and degrading - they turned away half my friends for “pregaming” saying it wasn’t allowed and called one of my friends with glasses four-eyes. I tried to ask for clarification about what they meant from the self proclaimed owner of the establishment and he rudely kept yelling at me that he owed me no explanation and to mind my own business. Don’t waste your money here
Kim Hubner: Was in Boston for the weekend from Pittsburgh and a worker at a bar near by recommended this “nightclub”. Cost $30 for a cover charge for literally the worst nightclub I’ve ever been too. The bartender didn’t even know how to make a Vegas bomb and neither did the other two bartenders. He put Jameson, triple sec, and topped it with Red Bull in a little shot glass. Not to mention this place is SO small as well. Don’t waste your time going to the place!!

I did not tip because my friend wrote down a big tip on her transaction. Next thing I know, I check my bank statement, and the bartender added a tip himself!!! I don't mind giving him a tip. But adding it on himself without me authorizing it?? ILLEGAL. THATS CONSIDERED FRAUD. If ur at this club, be aware u might get scammed!!!!!!!!

Bethany Mayott: Bouncers were extremely rude. There were many over served people that ruined the vibe. People throwing up in the middle of the club, falling down stairs. Unsafe environment. They let way too many people upstairs to the point you can’t even get a drink. When I finally did they were over priced and not worth it.

jennifer zaniboni: We bought skip the line passes for both upstairs and downstairs venues for $40 pp for birthday party. We arrived about 9 pm and there was no line at either. Later there was a line outside for the lower level club. Very fun venue and MC was good at having the birthday girl get up on stage to dance and sing with the band with smoke effects!. Only complaint is that several times we venmoed money (as instructed) for song requests totaling $40 in requests and the songs were never played. MC said that the band only knows certain songs so they can’t do anything about not honoring paid song requests :(

I think it might be a better place as a bar (if you want a place to chill out), but definitely not a place to get food. The food was overpriced (probably due to the small portion) and it was mid (does not really tasted "special" or "different"). The place was pretty, that was the only nice side about it (especially if you wanna take pictures). Furthermore, I somehow felt that this place was understaffed as we had to wait for 20 mins just to look for a waiter to ask for the bill.

I want to mention that it wasn’t a busy night or anything. The worst customer service ever. They don’t care about their customers AT ALL!My friend and I got two coconut marg and chips&guacamole. We couldn’t finish any of our orders because the bartender took it from us without asking if we still working on it. First he took our chips while I was eating. He was rude with it for no reason. When I asked another bartender to talk to a manager he didn’t pay attention. I went to ask another worker for a manager.When the manager came, the bartender took our drink in front of us and the manager. We were very disappointed. If you are looking for great drinks, I would recommend Lolita, but the food is questionable.The location of Lolita is perfect, within walking distance to most areas of Back Bay and in an unassuming basement of a brownstone. The dark atmosphere is cozy and the decor matches the look they are going for. Our server was polite but rarely checked on our table.The best part of our experience was the free green apple cotton candy and the creamy queso. The tacos we ordered came with "questionable" meat. Avoid the pork carnitas and blackened mahi mahi like the plague. Vegetarians may have a better experience.My tip is to avoid or at least read reviews of restaurants you discover on Instagram. The atmosphere may be beautiful but the food quality falls by the wayside.

We were seated and we waited at least 15-17 minutes on receiving water. Then another 10 min on our server to arrive. She was very nice however I only saw her twice during our visit, the first to take our order and the last when we asked for the check (after 20 min when we were done eating). My boyfriend and I are both servers so we were trying to figure out what the servers and support staff were doing this whole time. To include, our food definitely came out quick, and again, delicious.We observed other tables around us also becoming impatient as they waited for water and service as well. Do the servers have to prepare the free sweet ice and cotton candy? We also observed that all the drinks are completely filled with small nugget ice. Subby: The staff was rude with us and make our friend who was of color and made racist comments and made her pay double the cover. I should have it reported if I could for harrasment
Gus Michaelsen: Small club to have a $30 cash cover and rude staff. Money is much better spent to dance somewhere else.
Kenia Carvajal: The bouncers are extremely rude and disrespectful. They don’t even let you talk and they scream in your face.
Ethan Donnelly: Don’t waste your time here. Bouncers are happy letting in people drinking nips and puking around the corner but want a random power trip and won’t let in some people just patiently waiting in line. They try to force people to pay cover for a prepaid event. I’ve seen people get stretchered out. The list goes on and on and after 2 visits to Icon I will never go back. My experiences are so bad I honestly have no idea how people are leaving positive reviews for this place
Isabella V: Don’t waste your time here. Was attending a prepaid event and the bouncer immediately denied entry to my listed guest and couldn’t give us a reason why other than “the way he walked.” Claimed he was the manager while puffing his e-cig in our faces. Another staff member came out and told me my guest was denied due to “his attitude.” We were unwilling to slip them cover for a listed guest at a prepaid event so they decided to ruin our night instead.
Walter Stanwood: Easily one of the worst club I have been to. Bouncers act like college bar bouncers on a power trip. Once having to have a lengthy conversation with the bouncer. was given attitude by the bar staff and even attempted to be ripped off by making me buy a table. DJ was pretty mediocre at best. kinda sounded like a frat basement. overall, would not recommend to any of my friends for worry of the same experience.

Ryan Dennehy: 0 Stars. Probably the worst place you could ever go in Boston. Bouncers have nothing better to do than make you miserable. Everything inside is also over priced. Waste of time, waste of money don't bother with this dump.

Guy needs to figure his life out, seems like he enjoys making other people miserable. They were definitely trying to extort for more money to get in when it was already a prepaid event.

Joelle C.: I recently celebrated my birthday here and had a blast! I worked with Matt to book a table and he was the best to work with. Answered all of my questions and was extremely responsive, even followed up with me the day after to see how everything was. Jenny, the bartender for our table, was great and super nice. Everything from the booking process to the music to the service was fantastic! Would definitely recommend to others!

Jack Sila: They have absolute no respect for their guests. They harassed me multiple times because I put my feet on an ottoman (as if that’s not the purpose of it). They threaten to kick me out if I did it again, because apparently quietly sitting is enough to get you removed. If you’re young they will harass you and disrespect you. Don’t bother coming here and go anywhere else.

It fills up fast, so if you aren’t doing a table, don’t play yourself and show up before 12. Drinks are priced typically for a night spot. Also a solid venue if you are looking to have a semi-private birthday, it could fit the bill.
Jeremiah Seymour: WARNING: Stay away!!!!! Bag check gave someone who claimed to be me without my ticket my coat and bag. Management of this club told me over and over they would replace my $250 coat and $150 bag and belongings. This was a lie. The management and owner of the club never paid. If you want to coat stolen and you gear taken this is the place to go otherwise there are better clubs literally across the street.
Jazz Geez: The crowd is very diverse. The bartenders are friendly. The DJ for Saturays is straight trash and does not let any song play out.
B: Went on a Friday night. Good size crowd, busy but not packed. Had 2 different style lounges which was nice. Would definitely return and recommend
Diego Omar: I went to the gay Latin night on Wednesday, and it was a dissapointment. Let me start with the positive: Security, bartenders, lights, and ambient are great. It is a really nice place. However, the music was all in English with three or four words in Spanish. I'm a bilingual US citizen with many years in this country, but what Cure promotes as a Latin night is 90% water with sugar and 10% real juice. Very, very diluted. I prefer to continue supporting the gay Saturday nights of the place where I use to go in Revere Beach, where it is 100% music in Spanish. I will never conform with English music from Pitbull as a substitute for a great salsa in Spanish from Marc Anthony.

Jessica Long: I've gone here a couple of times. In the past it was free, but this time we had to pay, which was not explicitly listed on the event information.Otherwise, it was a fun time. There was great music. It kind of stunk though a first because there was no base in the music, but it was because there was another event going on upstairs.There is no ATM and when we had to pay we had no money to check our coats. However, the promoter was very kind and helped us get in so that we could party!
Dan Payne: Overpriced, paid 20 bucks on a sunday and it was empty when the ticket girl lied and said there was alot of people. We asked if we could take a quick look and she said we couldnt. rude staff waaaaay too loud even for a night club, they were smoking weed in there when the time before the bouncer stole my weed and bowl from my pocket when patting me down and said I needed to pay 20 bucks to get it back. When I paid to get it back there was almost nothing left in the bag. I also heard there were stabbings here. Don't waste your time and money in this place. Im not one to talk bad about a place but this club needs to be shut down. Stay far away from here
