Mike Vasily-Cioffi: I did the 8 hour welding intensive this past Sunday. Great for someone who wants to start learning welding. Welding is a type of skill I feel you need an expert to show you the basics and teach you how to be safe when starting out. The class was pretty thorough introduction and I'm pretty confident I can get started on some small projects in my home shop.
Linda M. Clark: Great experience making a silver soldered necklace. Can’t wait to take more classes.
Charles Bosse: Awesome teachers and a nice space with lots of artists.
Dan Twomey: I'm not an artist, but know when creation is superb. Don't even know the folks that run this studio but there is serious talent in there. I'm a cabbie in town and drop in whenever I'm in JP. Bravo to whomever. Please don't call the police if you see a cab in the parking lot taking pictures..

Museum of Fine Arts, Boston: what do users think?
Linda Sutton: Website is very difficult. Tried for half hour to set up visit this week. When it refused me in spite of membership not expiring until January, I called and THOUGHT I was being helped and until hit with the special $6 charge for a call in reservation. Ugh! Michele Koester: This very large museum has some wonderful art that is a must see. The Monet room is quite exceptional and beautiful as well as many of the other collection rooms and art. Special exhibits on the other hand seem to be an issue. Timed tickets are required which we purchased for the current Hokusai exhibit. I have no idea why they require timed tickets since we got to the exhibit and it was wall to wall jam packed people - and they just kept letting more and more in - you had to fight your way thru to view what you wanted to view. And it was that way through the entire exhibit. We saw no security or employees watching or guiding. And while I don't wish to offend, people don't care that there are others who wish to view the pieces too - manners are basically non-existent. It's truly a shame that we have to contend with more rudeness these days especially when surrounded by so much incredible beauty. Museum employees that we did find could not even tell us where certain exhibits were in the museum. Don't visit on a weekend if you don't like crowds. We had tickets and still had to wait in a very long line.

Angel Carboni: Love the MFA! I don't think words can describe how great and how important it is to go and visit! There's always new things on display and there's always events going on. As a COF student I'm able to get in for free with membership perks however the normal admission is not bad for the quality and quantity of content there is to explore at the museum! Two visits will never be the same because there's just SO much to see! Honestly could take almost a full week if you're there from opening to close to see all of it!

However walking through the Greek, Asian, European sections was incredible. Even more incredible was the Egyptian exhibit. I felt like I was getting a glimpse of a world long past. Didn't get a chance to see the whole museum before it closed. Definitely plan to come back.

Eric Johnson: The BEST art experience you can find in Boston if you're looking to improve your skills as a naturalistic/ realist artist. Friendly and intellectual atmosphere that welcomes all skill levels, ages and backgrounds.
Julie Beck: I would recommend this school to any person who wants to dramatically improve their drawing and painting skills. They work with students from beginner levels to professional artists. I also love that that you work at your own pace.

The Plein-Air Art Academy: what do users think?
Boris Stelin: It is best!
Svetlana B: Diana brings into the class a real artistic atmosphere. You forget what you are worried about in your real life and enjoy fantastic, artistic, wonderful time while you are drawing in her classes. And the results. I have never though that I ever be an artist and I could make any good artistic work...until I met Diana. Now I take part in the exhibitions! Wow this is a real step further. Whatever your level is, you'll grow with Diana's help. And of course you can check her website, all our works are there, so you could see what I am talking about. Highly recommend Diana.
Diana Borenshtein: Excellent studio for both kids and adults. Grateful to finally find the right teacher!
Bella Farber: Our Ari always looks forward to a class with Diana. Ari is not a very artsy person, but Diana has such a magnificent approach to teaching Art to children that she is able to engage everyone! We also appreciate that Diana introduces kids to Art history, by covering variety of artists & topics in kid-friendly terms at the beginning of each class. Our 5-year old was really taken with Greek mythology (Diana brought in the figurines to let the kids touch & explore "hydra," "Cyclopes", "Hercules" etc.) He also really liked learning about Picasso. As a teacher Diana has a great personality, patient, warm, and her enthusiasm about Art is infectious :) Combined with guided museum trips, and outdoors classes when seasons allow, we are thrilled with the experience our child is getting. Not to mention unparalleled creativity Diana brings to the studio -- kids explore all forms of art, from drawing & painting to sculpting, mosaic, making collages, creating African masks, working with yarn ... I am barely scratching the surface here.. Bottom line - I cannot say enough good things about Plein-air-academy! It's a magical place :)
Irina Sigalovsky: Diana has her wonderfully subtle and not so subtle ways to get people out of the box and out of their comfort zone. As a result, expect the unexpected.
Jennifer Rukavishnikov: My 5 yr old has been attending The Plein-Air Art Academy since 2013 and absolutely loves it. She looks forward to class every week and never gets sick of attending like other classes/activities. Diana, the owner/teacher is fantastic with kids and transferring her knowledge of art be it through art history or the different projects they create. What drew me to this school is the fact that the classes are taught outside in the fresh air (weather permitting of course) focusing on the surroundings . I believe this technique is truly unique to other art classes in the Boston area. I highly recommend this class to kids of all ages!!
Pr LFC: Daniel loves the class.

Richard W: Maybe I have been spoiled by MoMA but the ICA barely had exhibits. Even though the building is massive from a distance, only one floor displayed artwork. Two of the exhibits were great; one used paper cut-outs to add texture and gossamer colors to paintings, while another used pottery to create unsettling humanoid forms. The other floors were mostly administrative offices. It seemed backwards that a museum is mostly offices instead of artwork. Good quality, lacking in quantity. It is a great place to sit down, relax, and enjoy the views, though.

Diablo Glass School: what do users think?
Shepard Shane: My wife surprised me for Valentines day with a class here making stemless wine glasses. The staff was very warm and welcoming and very knowledgeable. Lindsy, Tara and Seth were our teachers and it was a good mix of instruction and them allowing you to do processes yourself. 100% would recommend to anyone looking for a fun new hobby or just a unique date night!
Bhishma Patel: I attended the stained glass suncatcher class. The instructor was absolutely amazing. If I was rating the instructor i would give them a 5/5 no doubt. I am not so impressed with the diablo facility itself for a few reasons.1. The glass color options were lacking in my opinion. There wasn't a good display for the glass options either which made it hard to pick out colors I wanted and felt very rushed.2. I also really wish they wrote on their website that because it is a 4 hour class, you were only able to make a piece with 6-8 glass pieces total as the craft is very time consuming.3. I would also recommend them having a pre-class informational page on the website because the instructions took up a lot of the time even though it was a 4 hour class, I felt a bit rushed the whole time and that made things a little stressful and not as enjoyable of a process.4. The major bummer was actually the fact that I was originally planning to attend a class with a friend who loves to craft just as much as I do. Unfortunately, she found out she was exposed to covid and tested positive 2 days before the class. I was informed that in order to reschedule, we would have to pay $30 per person. I was incredibly disappointed to hear this. I understand that they have a policy in place but for there to be no exceptions for something out of our control was really baffling to me. Especially considering the class itself was already $180 pp. Again, I understand they're a small business and I am happy to support local artists but to ask to pay even more on top of that for something out of our control was just upsetting to me. My friend ended up giving her ticket away to my boyfriend and it ended up being a good time still but the principal of the issue rubbed me the wrong way. So just beware if you are planning on scheduling with this facility, don't plan on getting sick unless you want to pay $30 more for the class.
Hailey Buxton: Took the stemless wine glass class and had so much fun! Instructors were incredibly friendly and made sure everything went smoothly. Would 10/10 go again
Nancy Carlucci: Staff provided tour & good information but, it took up too much time. I was very rushed and found the creative time unenjoyable.
courtney cox: Alex was an amazing instructor!!!
P: Wonderful experience!
C Martini: What an experience!! Worth every cent! They really took the time to make sure we knew what was going on and that we were safe. Our instructor was knowledgeable and friendly. This was a great way to try something new and a little scary but still controlled. Absolutely recommend this for anyone considering trying glass blowing.
kenric grunwald: An awesome time. The instructors are great!
Alex Ostergard: Took a class on glass flowers and it was super fun! Sarah and Hannah were great teachers, and did a great job guiding us on how to use their equipment. I'd definitely be interested in taking more classes!
Alexander DeArruda: 100% worth the experience.
Mike: Took a 2 hour private class with me and my girlfriend. We each got to pick the colors for our own paperweights and were able to mold, shape , and cut our glass anyway we liked. Our Instructor Pat was extremely helpful , friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend this anyone looking into getting into glass blowing or just looking for something fun to do. We had a blast!
Matt H: Went to Diablo as a surprise birthday gift. It was great! Seth made us feel welcome and safe. My wife and I both made glass paperweights. Truly a one of a kind experience.
Santiago Perez: Great experience, wonderful staff
David Thompson: Took a small introductory glass class here, just my wife and myself. Nice first experience with molten glass. Our instructor was Patient with us as total beginners, taught us the tools, demonstrated each process, and then helped us each complete a couple of pieces ourselves. Parking was available right next to the school. Im sure this is not the only thing to do there, but our experience was good.
Rich Lange: Great Experience and so fun!
Frank J. Braxton: Run 3 Game top my list of favorite games from 88kgames
Linda S. Horwitz: We attended the wine-tasting and glass blowing demonstration. I highly recommend it! We learned so much and got a front row seat to all the techniques used in this amazing artform. But it was the instructors Adam and Pat that were educational and entertaining. I would love to go back and take classes there. THANK YOU.
Ben Dwyer: Visited for a birthday party. Instructor was fantastic, glass blowing demo was riveting, and slab making was a blast. Price was inexpensive, too!
John B Howell: Fantastic place
Alisha Ciardi: We contacted Diablo glass either a week or a week and a half before our wedding (if my memory serves me--basically it was way too close to the big day) to collaborate with them on a bell jar as a guest book. We are from out of town so when we arrived at Diablo to pick up the glass plate that would become the bell jar and to show Doris the type of murrine glass we had purchased for the guests to glue on, she didn't know we were coming because I accidentally sent the email I meant for her back to myself somehow. She handled it all incredibly well and gave us a tour of the glass studio while we waited for the glass we needed to be cut. If I lived in Boston, I would be there all the time.On our wedding day, guests glued murrine pieces to the glass in unique patterns and shapes and we send it back to Diablo to be blown into a bell jar. They did two tests before the blew our actual piece to make sure they got it right (you only get one shot). Doris kept me updated every step of the way. They shipped it out to us in Chicago in what must be the mother or all styrofoam boxes--they carved out the styrofoam so the bell jar fit just right--and it arrived quickly and, most importantly, in one piece! The whole process after the wedding took about 5 weeks. This was such a special part of our wedding and I'm so glad we worked with Diablo to make it happen.
SWiM: Not sure what exactly went wrong during my visit to diablo this past month. Was it the instructor who refused to let us explore different colors? or was it when he told us he had had a "liquid lunch" and that it was to thank for his lack of shakiness. What really caught me was the pure un-organized structure of the computers, staff, and studios. Money on my giftcard "vanished" forcing me to abandon the ornament class I had scheduled months earlier and rent studio time which was ludicrously cheap compared to the "classes". Many times did I have to search for missing tools while the "instructor" and other renters watched. I also was ignored by the girl(s) working the desk numerous times when I asked about colors, tool locations, and plain questions about the facility. When I received my ornaments and pendants I couldnt believe how awful the hooks had been applied, leaving sharp glass protruding past the crude hanger. There was missing pendants(s) which I called about and still have gotten zero response. There were many other factors including the aroma of weed which tended to linger, then the decaying neighborhood which gave me a front row seat to watch drug deals and domestic viloence. Those were irrelevent because I made the conscious decision of coming to Boston. Nevertheless Im saddened for what has become of a studio who is surely attempting a reincarnation of the lost artform but falling flat on mere presence and morals.
