Ryan Stafford: I’ve loved living here for the past 3 years. The staff and amenities are so wonderful and helpful. However, I can’t give it 5 stars for 2 reasons. First, the heat and AC are seasonal so if you’re on a top floor and especially an east facing apartment you’ll get cooked in early spring and late summer when the building doesn’t have the AC on. For a luxury apartment I’d expect to not have to deal with 80+ degree temperatures in my home and be able to regulate better. Second, the fire alarm is about the most annoying thing on the planet and borders on a safety hazard as it cycles through the same message for a full minute before telling you whether or not you need to evacuate. Also in the last few months communication between management and residents has seemed to decline for things like water temporarily being off, fire alarm inspections, etc. to the point email notification is only provided the night before it actually occurs.

Krishnaa Ghosh: I teach yoga at the Cambridge Park, and it was one of the most centrally located, beautiful communities in the Cambridge area. The staff is extremely friendly, and all of the residents I have met so far are wonderful. It seems like an incredible community to be a part of, and you can't beat the convenience of the red line being right across the street! Plus they offer free yoga to their residents :)

Stephen Alvarez: I lived here for 1.5 years and moved out at the end of September 2022. I had a very positive experience living at Cambridge Park Apartments. My unit was very spacious and overall very nice (2b 2b). The staff is amazing, from the leasing staff, to maintenance, to the concierge. The mailing system is efficient and very safe. The parking hasn't been an issue, but is quite pricey, like other apartment complexes across Cambridge/Boston area. They were also willing to work with me to come to a reasonable price for a 6-month extension to my initial 12-month lease. Anytime I had an issue, question, or needed a work order, I received a response/service very quickly.I don't have many complaints as this was a pretty ideal living situation. The fire/safety alarm went off from time to time, which can be a little annoying - it is very loud and has gone off in the middle of the night on a couple occasions. I think this was mainly due to kids pulling on the fire alarms, but I cannot say for sure. It occurred more frequently when I first moved in, and seemed to happen more rarely towards the second half of my stay.Overall, it is a nice, safe place and the staff has been excellent.

danielle loring: Emilia is fantastic! I had to relocate to Boston from CA for work. I had no idea that the real estate market in Boston was as toxic as CA. She first found me an amazing place to rent, then buy, then sell. Good and trustworthy realtors are hard to come by, Emilia went above and beyond to comfort my living situation in Boston with total professionalism, fun and ease. She's quite witty too. Troy Manitakos: Falsely advertised an apartment in Prospect Hill. Had listing as 80 Boston Street and took us to 85 Boston Street instead. The listing was of a very nice 2 bedroom unit. The place Mike and Mark took us to was a slum. They said it is an accident and posted the wrong pictures. That they would fix it.A week later they still have the nice pictures up of the wrong unit. I'm not sure if Mark Porter and Mike O'Toole are running some kind of scam or just incredibly lazy. Either way, stay way!

Rebecca Li: Awful experience. Mark, who we worked with for renting an apartment, made no attempts to help relay any questions we had to the landlord. He was extremely pushy with getting us to sign the lease immediately, when there was no rush. Asking another partner at Apartment Hub verified no one else was looking into this apartment. Furthermore, after badgering us for information all day, we could not reach him over the phone that day! Would avoid if possible.

Sam Schultz: I was accepted to a medical residency at Harvard and needed an apartment on short notice that would accommodate my cats. Apartment Hub was sensitive to my needs and showed me the exact kinds of apartments I had in mind. Since I couldn't fly down I set up my meetings with them through FaceTime, which was effortless. The amount of time, frustration, and stress I saved by not having to go apartment hunting by myself was worth every penny. Linda Nagel: This fall I enrolled as a grad student at Tufts, however, since I am from Grand Rapids, I really had no way of finding a nice condo without taking off from work or leaving XiXi (my pom) at home alone. A colleague of mine suggested that I try Apartment Hub to help find the condo I needed. I went online and checked them out and I was really surprised to see how accommodating they are to students and professionals that own dogs. That was most certainly a welcomed relief since it had been hard to find homes that allow pets. I also found that they have been in business for over 20 years. This lets me know that they are doing something right, so I took the plunge.From the get, the staff was so friendly, so professional, so responsive, knowledgeable, and thorough. They asked a ton of questions, but that only led me to getting a selection of condos that matched exactly what I was looking for (amenities and all). They knew the city better than my brother-in-law who is a native. I was further impressed by their ability to find exclusive condos that were not listed in the paper or online anywhere. I was able to review several condos before making a decision, all without leaving the comfort of my couch. Excellent pictures and interactive virtual tours were a fabulous and technically savvy way to show the listings. I moved in this past month and as I sit here with XiXi in our spacious condo with the view I so wanted, I am elated and thankful that I used Apartment Hub. Two thumbs up for their outstanding service!

Jordan Taylor: If you are looking for an affordable apartment that allows dogs, look no further. Apartment Hub is very helpful and flexible. Can't make it into town for a tour? You can have pictures and videos sent to you, which is so much easier than having to fly in for a possible place to rent. All of the paperwork is online, so you don't have to go anywhere until the apartment is ready for you. I would highly reccomend apartment hub.

Anna Griffin: Enjoying the apartment, very nice building and close to the park. It is a bit away from public transportation and the parking spaces are pretty tight. We also hear constant thumping from upstairs so just a fair warning if you live under a family with kids, it can get pretty noisy and obnoxious as its is continuous and ongoing. We hear stomping, objects being dragged across the ground, jumping, just to name a few. Our doors shake and it is loud enough to wake us up very early in the morning.

MikeDeCo5: We moved into Park 77 and everything has been terrific so far. The apartment complex is incredible, from the nice public area set ups, to the apartments themselves, and the staff. The staff is extremely accommodating to its residents. The property manager Jorge has been terrific through the entire process , from the application, viewing the property, moving into the building, and beyond.The location is great as well, with Danehy Park across the street, fresh pond and fresh pond mall close by.Absolutely recommend Park 77 (or Park 87 which we also lived at for a short while)

In less than 24 hours, we had already applied to and received landlord approval for the new apartment that Phil hand-picked out for us. This was all done from the safety of our current home 1000 miles away---no risk of traveling in the middle of a pandemic to view apartments in-person! He was---and still is---prompt in answering our many questions and has done a great job making us feel comfortable with signing a lease for an apartment we know we'll love despite not being able to see it in person (the so-called "site unseen" scenario many fellow renters will likely find themselves in for months to come). Cambridge Resident: I was excited to move to Market Central. From my interactions with their leasing staff, from their marketing materials, and from a walk-through, I had high expectations of professionalism, comfort, and safety. However, I’ve been disappointed on a number of these counts, and have not found the experience they offer to measure up to their marketing or to their price point.Note (added later): I strongly suspect the responses written on these reviews are written by some sort of third-party reputation management company. If Market Central management read my review, they would be able to easily guess who wrote it, and would be able to reach out directly.* Air quality: Smoking and cooking smells from other units enter mine on a regular basis, despite marketing materials that suggest that each unit has an independent fresh air supply. When the windows are closed, there’s insufficient ventilation — I’ve measured indoor CO2 levels as high as 1400 ppm (the Massachusetts Department of Public Health recommends levels below 800 ppm.) The range hoods do not exhaust outside.* Safety and security: My locked bicycle was stolen from “secure” storage. I’m aware of at least one unit burglary. I have found tailgating to be common, and hard to avoid given how long the door takes to re-lock after being opened. The front desk often seems to be unattended, perhaps due to insufficient staffing for the volume of package deliveries that have to be processed, thus leading to tailgaters going unnoticed.* Noise level: I’ve found that the doors do very little to block hallway noise (keep this in mind if you’re considering a studio). The gym floor does not appear to have a shock-absorbing surface (relevant if you choose to live on the 7th floor below the gym), and even trash going down the trash chute is audible from inside apartments. The windows seem to do a poor job of insulating against noise from outside, and I have found the heating / cooling unit to be significantly louder than even a window AC.* Maintenance: While maintenance is quick to arrive if there’s an issue, they have often tried to tell me everything is normal or operating as expected. For example, I was told that it’s normal that it’s impossible to get warm water from the bathroom faucet (only fully hot or fully cold), because it was the same in all other units. I suspect the reason is due to a pressure imbalance between hot and cold water — but that wasn’t something maintenance was interested in addressing.* Lease terms — Some highlights from the 34-page lease: A video / photo release allowing MC to take and publish photos of you for advertising purposes (you can opt out, but will be asked not to attend community events), and a section stating that you may be required to pay for your neighbors’ rent and relocation expenses if you are unfortunate enough to have a bed bug infestation.I would spend more time on the positive aspects, but I honestly don’t think that would add much information that isn’t already available. The amenities listed on the website are as described, and the photos and floor plans are accurate. The front desk and leasing office staff are courteous, if unwilling to address the more serious concerns I’ve raised above. The good things about living here are just what I’ve expected, and no more. The negative aspects, however, are not expected given the price range.

Cindy Chen: This building is unsafe to live in!!! Our unit was broken into and our personal properties were stolen. The management team refused to improve and enhance residence security and still insisted on charging us a 2-month penalty fee for terminating our lease early when we chose to move out. Live here at your own risk. Stay away!During our stay here, someone had somehow gained access to our unit (without obvious signs of break-in) and many of our valued personal items were stolen. What made matters worse was the attitude of the management team at Market Central, who had shown a complete disregard for their responsibility to ensure residence safety in this matter. When we brought up our concern for the safety of the digital locks installed on the entrance of every apartment unit, the manager responded that they don’t have ANY reason to believe their locks don’t work (even after we supplied evidence of break in) and, when pressed further, refused to improve the safety for these apartment locks. After speaking with police, we heard that similar incidents have also occurred in this building, so we have strong reasons to believe that our horrific incident is not the first! Yet, during our 9 month living here, the management team has never notified us or any other residents of this safety concern.If you are considering living here, just remember that your apartment unit has a risk of being broken into, you will feel unsafe even in your own home, and, if such incident occurs, the management team will not help you and you are essentially on your own. Don’t do this to yourself. The money you pay for these overpriced units can get you a much better place elsewhere.Our experience here was a literal nightmare and we feel emotionally distressed. We are utterly disappointed in the Market Central leasing team. Home should be a place where you feel safe. Living at Market Central will not buy you that.

Sherry Li: Well at the beginning, I thought it was a really nice place to live, until recently my neighbor moves in and I can even hear his snoring in the midnight, not to mention other annoying noise.Don’t know if my unit is the only one suffering from that. If u dont care about that, it can still be a good place. (I CARE!!!) But in general, it’s still a good place.

Hessam Zahedi: Good building, but the management is awful, I lived there for two years and noticed several issues. Worst of all, they mixed up my move-out date and were horrible and inflexible about the mistake they made. I also was supposed to get my full security deposit back, but after almost two months, I still haven’t got it, which is against the law. If I do not receive it soon, I’m willing to take it to small claims. Every time I ask, they say, “oh the check is being reissued.” According to people with the same experience you have to sue them to get your money back! A lot of stress and headache, JUST STAY AWAY!

Miranda Rivera: Market Central is one of a kind! The building is beautiful with great amenities and attentive staff. It’s in the heart of Cambridge and offers a lot of perks. I definitely recommend this location and building. Neighbors are friendly and diverse. I’m grateful to be a part of this community and looking forward to renewing my lease. If you’re looking for a beautiful, luxurious home with everything outside of your door this is the place for you!

YJ Y: Overall okay building. Great location for sure. But the overall value is just meh. (2022 prices went up 35% for our unit, so we are moving) Very small bedrooms, okay amenities and appliances. Wouldn’t say it’s the one of the best lux apts in Cambridge (if you are looking for good lux apt, maybe check out Kendall Sq area)Management messed up the unit available date and our move in date, so we stayed in a temporary unit for two weeks for free. Moving twice in a month was just too much work. Hope the leasing team could avoid situations like this.If you can’t stand steet noises, try to AVOID units of lower levels and with windows facing Mass Ave. it is really loud on weekends even with windows shut. Not to say the fire and ambulance sirens during the day if you are WFH. Also AVOID lower level units with windows facing the McDonald’s! We didn’t do our research on that and thought we got a great deal, but it came with the price-you cannot open windows basically all the time. The gross and distinct McD smell would linger in your room all day long. And I’m pretty sure it’s bad for your health. Bc the McD is 24/7, can’t even open windows at night. So make sure you do your research and actually come to see the units.

Zhenfang Chen: The apartment is at the centre of kendall square, which is the only advantages. Several reasons make us annoying. First, there is construction nearby all the year, producing huge noise every morning. Second, the gym is not free and only opens at limited hours, which is definitely rare for such an expensive apartment. Last, we receive the new lease, increasing 20%+ monthly rates, which is crazy. Planning to move out and the third square apartment at the opposite street has more reasonable prize, more far away from construction, and more unit choices. The staffs are overall friendly but could not handle any of the above problems. Be careful to choose...

lee bansil: We moved into our apartment a couple of weeks ago and we are delighted with our new abode. The office staff were a delight to work with, Stephanie and Natasha were so welcoming and highly professional.Of note, Stephanie made the move in easy, nothing was too much trouble and the assistance continues now we are residents. This modern building is well located, super amenities and a great place to call home.

Austin Ridgard: Just moved into a recently renovated unit, and this apartment has changed my life. Big windows, tons of space, and fantastic full sized appliances with a bunch of bells and whistles. My new full sized gym is in the same building, and I'm living right next door to a grocery store, barber, tons of restaurants, subway station, and a kayak launch of all things.The staff are straightforward, direct, and honest about procedures and list pricings and are quick to respond to get the ball rolling. They make a good team in the office and never fail to make me laugh and feel welcome.

Steven Brav: I worked with Suzanne and Stephanie to lease an apartment at Watermark Kendall West. I could write endless encomiums about both of them, but all of them would say the same thing. Both were friendly, totally competent, easy to work with and together made the leasing experience so totally exceptional. All other staff at Watermark Kendall West have a very high standard of excellence to live up to. Go Su&St!!!!!

Jeff Whitty: VERY STRONG PAINTING SMELL in the entire apartment! High concentration of formaldehyde are detected!! If you have a family member that are pregnant or have kids, I would suggest you stay away from here!!!The leasing office claimed that the concentration are below the ATSDR and suggest us to keep the window open and use fan. However, we have been doing this for more than three months! STILL VERY STRONG SMELL!!!!If you really have to live here, at least visit the apartment before you sign any contract!!! GOOD LUCK!!!

Joshua Schwartz: We worked with Matthew Chong, the Watermark's leasing manager, and he was incredibly kind, patient and helpful. He gave us both a virtual and in-person tour, patiently talked through all of our many questions, and allowed us to use his own computer to submit an application and a refundable deposit. Although we ended up deciding not to live at the Watermark, Matthew kindly and promptly initiated the process to refund our initial deposit.

Paul Ward: I wasn't able to find the apartment that I needed, but Christina from Watermark Kendall really went above and beyond to make my experience top notch. She really went above and beyond to see if we could find something that would work. Can't say enough good things about her and the job that she does.

RACHIT BADOLIA: A well designed and well maintained apartment complex located at a strategic place, with close proximity to restaurants, grocery store, gym, mall, and of course the Charles river. The office staff and the maintenance team are super friendly and quick to respond.

yixianshuiesuan: Very professional management. Lived here for 5 years and the office is super responsive for all requests. They did multiple rounds of upgrade to some of the buildings and it has become more comfortable for living. Although the cost is also higher as a result.

Elizabeth Debraggio: I've lived in CHR properties for the past five years and have always been incredible impressed by their team. I've lived in two different buildings (was graciously moved by CHR to a different spot when my original building went under construction) and both have been well maintained and a great value. I really appreciate their responsiveness and friendliness!

Alyssa Neckorcuk: This place keeps posting property they don’t own on trulia. My home that I own is currently listed for rent by them and Key Realty Group. I contacted Key and Key contacted CHR but it doesn’t seem to get fixed. Don’t trust the addresses on their listings!

Rocio Jaime: The location is great, but the company is aggressive about raising rent prices and the laundry rarely works. If you only need an apartment for a year and don’t mind investing in a dryer rack, then this might be a decent place for you.UPDATE (May 8): laundry machines still do not work

Nashra Balagamwala: Great location, however the radiators make banging sounds all day and night. I have requested the management for 3 weeks to look into the matter and nothing has been taken care of. (apparently all the residents in the building are going through similar issues)

Sarah Wells: So they've been doing a bunch of construction during the day. I contacted the management office because I work from home a lot and the noise was becoming an issue but they said I could transfer to another location and were very understanding. It's nice when people are willing to hear you out and actually help you.

Ben Toll: Unless you relish living in a state of perpetual irritation, I recommend you avoid Chestnut Hill Realty like the plague. As other reviewers have mentioned, management will wait months before deigning to fix any of the numerous broken washing machines. Moreover, their renovations are invasive, and poorly done. Don't believe me? I have pictures of what happened when they tried to install a new toilet in my apartment. First, they installed a toilet that very obviously prevented the bathroom door from closing. Then, after I asked them to fix it, they hacked a hole in the door to allow it to slide over the toilet bowl. How creative! Having done such an exemplary job on the toilets, Chestnut Hill Realty is now tackling an even more ambitious renovation that, it would seem, involves loud jackhammering throughout the week, and invasive visits by construction personnel at 8 in the morning. You might imagine this renovation would be accompanied by more than a pittance in rent reduction, but you would be wrong. I can't move out fast enough. Do yourself a favor, and don't move in.
