Harvard Square Hotel: what do users think?
Juliana Downey: Rooms are very small. My bathroom water smelled off. Every time I went near the bathroom I could smell it. They had very comfortable beds. Overall decent stay!
Michael Maximilien (DrMax): Pretty bare bone hotel when it comes to room and service. Tiny elevators and just coffee and vending machines. Great location — if that’s what you need.
Thomas Burdick: Rooms: Clean, modern, great location.Noteworthy details: I don't know how widely this is advertised, but low-key, there is a Tesla destination charger here, sometimes used by the rental car business, but I was able to charge my car here for free. People at the front desk were very nice about it. Huge bonus.
Оо Оо: Very bad hotel! After a long drive from the city of Buffalo, we decided to stay at the nearest good hotel in the Cambridge area. We chose them based on the booking rating and an acceptable price. The name of the hotel is - Harvard Square Hotel. But we immediately started having problems at the reception desk, the guy from the reception seemed very rude to us. Because of its inadequate service, we did not want to stay in this hotel. He told us that we could cancel the reservation and no money would be debited from our account. With him, we canceled our reservation and went to look for another hotel, but after leaving the Harvard Square Hotel, money was withdrawn from our account. Although on the advice of the guy from the reception, we canceled the reservation at the front desk. It turns out he deceived usWe ask you to return the money, and avoid this hotel.

Jack Keefe: On my second night staying there, the shower handle to change the temperature and turn on the water fell off and to the ground with a heavy clank. I'm glad it didn't hit my feet! Never had that happen before, even at much more budget hotels. When I talked to the front desk, I had to be the one to suggest switching rooms (as it could apparently not be repaired at that hour), which was granted but a little annoying at that hour, and the room I was switched to was worse in size and amenities than my original room, unfortunately.
Chen Liu: Every staff member I have talked to is very helpful and friendly. Thank you to the front desk manager in the morning who kindly allowed me to use the luggage cart to move my daughter’s luggage to the Harvard Yard. The late check in the night before was very smooth and fast so that we could enter our room and start rest immediately after a long and late flight. Overall very nice experience. The room is very clean and the beds are clean and comfortable. House keeping does a wonderful job also. The guests can always have drinking water hot, room temperature, or cold, in addition to coffees and teas. It’s not a luxurious level but you can enjoy a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Last but not the least, it’s just one block from the Harvard Yard.
Rainer Glaser: Perfect location. And they charge for that a lot!! Rooms are a little tight. Clean, modern. Hardly a reception area, just coffee in the lobby.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Olu Badmus: The manager is a great guy and his got courteous staff members.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Melissa Debayle: My family and I chose to stay at Harvard Square Hotel for our college reunion the first weekend in June, knowing that they had just reopened on May 15th and that there were no recent online reviews. That was a mistake. I don’t know what was renovated, but the $500+ we paid per room did not match the level of service or amenities offered. I do not recommend HSH.
Amr El Essawi: I love this place because of strategic location.Nice at reception but all is self service. You carry your own bags ! Hiring one person to help might be a good idea. Otherwise simple and clean.
Mark Tolts (Марк Тольц): Good for staying

Sean: Had a 3 day trip in Boston and this Hotel was overall great! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The rooms were a bit small, but relatively clean (a bit dusty). The only issue I had was there was no filtered water fountain in the hotel. Being able to valet my car was an absolute gamechanger for me.Location was close to a lot of stores and bars, and the train station was right across the street making it easy to get into South Station (around 30 minutes if the trains are properly running). Would definitely stay here again!

Dan Drago: Great boutique hotel in Cambridge MA, conveniently located in a safe and vibrant neighborhood, close to shops, restaurants and cafes. You're very close to the T station, which will get you to Harvard Square in 5 mins or Downtown Boston in 20 mins. The hotel is new, clean and has a great French restaurant (Collette) on the ground floor. Hotel staff were very nice and friendly. Alex took the time to offer a few additional restaurant suggestions in the area, which was great. Would definitely recommend.Rooms: CleanSafety: Very safe areaWalkability: Very walkable
Ivan Waldman: Nice attractive rooms that are quite small, but adequate if your plan is just to use the room for sleeping. The shower leaked under the door resulting in a soaked bath mat with each use. If you have a car it's $28.00 a night for valet only parking. The valet service was very efficient.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 4/5 …More

JAY KHANDELWAL: Great place for staying in Cambridge!
Lisa Oray: Safety: Very safeGood shopping and food and drugstore and transit.Walkability: 100 percent
Tarvinder Singh: Hotel is close to main university campuses and it is a good area. The hotel rooms are ok but the cleanliness was not up acceptable standards. However the hotel staff is really needs to learn what hospitality means. Hotel staff not at all supportive at all. I was with a group that organized events with the universities in the area at the hotel. We were a groups of guests from all over. I found hotel staff’s specifically Miguel; behavior was extremely biased and racist towards some of our guests. Our group had old people and hotel staff chose not to help with the bags whereas they were helping other customers. Over the course of 3 night stay and 2 events at the hotel we experienced it multiple times. At times the hotel staff would talk amongst themselves in Spanish abusing some of the guests and my wife very well understood Spanish. This was happening frequently. Additionally the day we were leaving we asked to get a print out of the cocos test and the reception guy Miguel and her colleague told we do not have the print out facility where as they rooted bulls right away.In a city that is academically inclined and having students and expats from all over , it is disappointing to have experienced this. Real disappointment.
Grace Popple: Queen suite had room for 3 with a rollaway bed they luckily had in stock. Views were wonderful of the turning umbrellas over Porter Square and all the way to downtown. It was clean and quiet. Very close to Porter Square T station. Parking was available underneath.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view …More
Alicia: Rooms are small but very clean and comfortable with all necessary amenities. But if you are a business traveler who needs to get some sleep I suggest avoiding this hotel as the restaurant belonging to the hotel on the first floor plays loud music past 11pm, making it very hard to sleep.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Hotel 1868: what do users think?
Paul Harris: really nice hotel in a very cool neighborhood! modern everything. very friendly and helpful staff.
Rohan Rakesh: If you are staying here, it is a great location! Bang opposite the Porter Square train station. You have great connectivity either via bus or train. You have a CVS Pharmacy on the opposite side along with a whole world of dining options. A breakfast place is just adjacent to the hotel. It is one good place in Cambridge.Safety: It is a safe place, and I had no issues taking a cab as early as 5AM in the morning.Food & drinks: Great restaurants nearby- Chinese, Thai, Indian a few cafes.
Jocelyn Dumesnil: Accueil excellent…
Amanda Hiatt: Safe, clean, nicely designed. Highly recommend!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
rob t: Had a more than pleasant stay at this hotel. Needed a place for a business/leisure trip. Hotel was very reasonable, yet still well appointed. Very informative, courteous, professional, and helpful front desk staff. The exercise/work out room was well equipped with numerous modern cardio and weightlifting machines. Rooms were modern and comfortable, and had everything one would need. Clean too. Neighborhood with multiple dining options, very diverse (enjoyed collection of authentic Japanese noodle options across the street at Lesley U, as well as Bagelsaurus!). And, across the street from the Porter T station. Will definitely stay again.
Nobuko Asakai: Such a cute hotel!Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More
MJ Recanati: I booked a room about four weeks in advance but ended up having to cancel one week prior to my stay. The hotel would not refund my $150 even though I wouldn’t be staying there. This is a horrendously unfair policy and I strongly urge prospective patrons to consider staying elsewhere because of this unbelievable, customer-unfriendly refund policy.
Gustavo Herrera: Great hotel located in the best location in Cambridge, across the street from the subway. Lots of food options around Harvard, Porter and Davis Squares, all within walking distance. This is a new, clean, no-frills hotel. No daily room service to make the beds. The rooms are in brand new condition. Great price for location.
Dave Wolf: Stayed at 1868 last night. I highly recommend it. Room was clean, staff was really nice and close to everything. Great job 1868!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Deep Chatterjee: This is an ideal hotel for work related travel. The rooms have every all necessary items. They are clean. Only a microwave is missing, but that's OK. The location is a stone throw from the metro, hence getting places is really easy. There's a nice cafe that opens early right outside, and some great eateries around. Rooms were cheap compared to what is standard in the area.
Samuel “Sam Davis Photographer” Davis: Excellent location right by the subway and a short walk to Harvard yard. Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel felt safe and the rooms were very clean. Rooms clean on request rather than everyday, which made it feel more private.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Great value …More
Husain Al-Mohssen: As a local I always feel comfortable recommending this place. Especially when it has a good deal going.
T. Andria: This hotel was a very good location for someone looking to explore greater Boston and Cambridge, right across the street from the T and shops. Yes, the rooms are small, but they tell you the sq ft in the reservation, so I can only assume that the other reviewers can’t read. The AC is controlled by the staff, and they run colder than normal.I’m not a huge fan of waterfall showers, but it got the job done. The staff was very accommodating to my early arriving flight and my luggages, so I appreciated their help. The reason I rated 4/5 instead of 5/5 is because I couldn’t control the thermostat in my room myself and it annoyed me slightly, but great hotel if you don’t care about that.
Francesco L.: Excellent price-quality ratio. Very quiet for sleeping, in front of the subway.Kind staff. Highly recommended
Heather Hoisington: Everyone was great that I dealt with. My room was small but nice. I liked the full control over the heating and cooling.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Victorino Franco: Nice cozy hotel in a good location
Alex Paya: Rooms were great and nice looking. There was some strange unevenness in the floors, but a very nice little spot to stay the night.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Boston - Cambridge, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?
Nick Dramis: Great stay at a great hotel. Staff was informative, super friendly and incredibly helpful. Location was great super close to restaurants, mall, other shopping.Breakfast although the standard fare for a business hotel was good, changed daily and fresh.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Great view, Quiet …More
T: Two rooms for our group and heating / AC broken in both... Beds only mediocre, rooms do appear to be well sound proofed though in terms of the neighbors. Traffic noise with the windows as well as pedestrians are plenty noticable still.Staff wasn't exactly the most helpful when checking in and had to rearrange our booking for some reason.Walking distance to the science museum though is it's saving grace. The cost absolutely was not worth it though... I'd recommend staying 20-30 minutes away at a nicer hotel for half the price and then just paying parking.Rooms: Average room. Uncomfortable beds. Nice bathroom. Ok pillows.Nearby activities: Boston Science Museum is fantastic.Walkability: Close enough to the Boston Science Museum and not too far from the mall...Food & drinks: Included breakfast was pretty decent.
Shannon Wentworth: We only stayed 1 night and I am glad it wasn’t more. The staff was very friendly, but the hotel is in DESPERATE need of repair and renovations. The window in our room would not close completely. Maintenance came to look. They slammed the window to close it more but the cold air still made it into the room.
IVAN DIAZ GOMEZ: Great Hotel, affordable prices, good location, good breakfast, great staff and also great breakfast. The bed coach wasn’t too confortable but the rest was perfect.
TJ Lacalamita: Spacious rooms and food serviceRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
Kyler Alvord: The price was not worth the experience, mostly because the front desk will give you things then quietly charge you for them, dramatically hiking your bill. The management will not get back to you about your concerns either - even after 4 attempts. Don't waste your time (and trust me, you won't save money in the end)Rooms: 3/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More

tiffany mukundi: This hotel has the BEST location for the price. It’s a 5 min walk to the train station where you can go anywhere in Boston so we didn’t need a car. On top of that, the room was spacious and CLEAN! Housekeeping did a great job with our room, we really appreciated it. The breakfast was probably the best I’ve had for continental breakfast in the past few years. Lots of variety and snacks to go! The front desk people both nights were so helpful and kind. They held our bags because our flight was late. When I came back for my bags, I noticed I left my AirPods in the room. Within 5 minutes, they brought them to me. I was so thankful and blessed. Imagine if I forgot them and I live in Georgia 😭. If I had to return to Boston, I’d stay here again.
Julian Samaroo: Clean, well stocked rooms. Slightly noisy mini fridge, but not a big deal. Location was a bit far from the action near MIT, but there was a nice little park and a strip with restaurants and such just down the road. Would stay here again!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Vinicio Rios: Food & drinks: Breakfast is the best. Bed and shower are great.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 3/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Great value …More

Anderson Nance: Rooms: Room was nice. The heater didn't work but besides that a good room.Nearby activities: Great location to stay to go to TD garden or downtown Boston or the science museumSafety: Felt relatively safe at this location
Roger Beaujard: This location is perfect. Super clean. Absolutely friendly staff that helped us out with more than one thing. Parking was perfect. Our proximity to what we were doing in town was awesome. Only about an 8 minute drive. Warm breakfast was nice with turkey, sausage, egg, omelets, breads, etc. Couldn't have been a better experience.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
bigdave1331: My wife and I stayed at this Holiday Inn for a weekend getaway. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Edith, the receptionist at the front desk is absolutely amazing! If I were her boss, I would certainly be giving her a raise. The beds are comfortable. The hotel and rooms are very clean and appealing. The hotel is located in a safe location that is only a couple minutes walk to the Boston subway system. There is a grocery store right around the corner from the hotel that is within walking distance.
Ivan Capan: Location close to industrial zone, but ok. Close to a shopping areas. Metro is fairly close. Rooms a bit aged, but clean and cosy. Staff is very helpful.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Zhe Li: Charges fees without any warning, bad location, bad elevator1. I booked the room with my free night provided by my credit card, and throughout the booking process there is no mention of "fees" with specific numbers anywhere. In the confirmation email it also says "Total estimated price: Free". At check-in I was also NOT notified of any fees. Guess what? The day after my stay I got a $55.5 charge. I checked again and there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that is mentioned anywhere. They could have charged me $10,000 and say it's "fees". I talked to IHG and they told me about $47 is for fees -- no explanation of what they are for -- and cannot explain where the rest $8 comes from.2. The hotel is located next to a highway in an area that is under development, and the surrouding does not make me feel comfortable walking at night.3. One elevator was out of service, while the other was slow, small and had sudden starts/stops. I was on the 8th floor and once it took me several minutes to go to the lobby because of the stops.I am going to ask my credit card company to give my money back, and I will NOT renew my IHG card next year.
TAKASHI KURIHARA: Good price, good locationRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
melissa Alves: This is the worst hotel I've ever booked. First when booking we asked for adjoining rooms we get there no adjoining rooms. We were booked months in advance so they should of been no issue accommodating us . They want us to pay 35$ for parking which I did but was not told that I might have to park 4 blocks down the road behind a Dunkin with no lights or cameras. I felt so unsafe tht I had to drive home and check out at 12. I didn't even spend the night. The women at the front desk could careless about what I was saying to her at one point told us that this conversation was over and turned around. If I was told that I would have to park down the road, I would've took an Uber to the show I was going to. I think when a guest checking in you should make them aware that they might have to park four blocks on the road after paying $35. When calling for at least a partial refund they lady told me this is a business basically screw me. I guess customers don't matter just their money. I would never book here again.
Jay S: This hotel is unbelievable… they charge for parking even if there is no parking available because the parking lot is so small in comparison to the hotel rooms they have. So their suggestion is parking in some dark alleyway down the road knowing that people are visiting from out of town… so what are you charging us for parking for?

Sara Foley: The Charles Hotel was the perfect home for our wedding weekend on December 31, 2022. No one could've taken care of us, our family, and our friends better. From the months prior of expert planning with Jennifer Halpin, to the day of execution, on a holiday no less, with the most pleasant staff... we were blown away. The reservations team, including Ariana Ricci, was responsive and kind while handling our large, ever-changing, room block. The driveway team, including Zafar, Phil, Fauod, German and Dan, were prompt and extremely helpful with our CARTS full of belongings. The front desk team, led by Sumit Tuladhar, was so attentive and efficient. And then the banquet team, led by Jim, ... is just the best of the BEST. Patti, Stephen, Tim, Wilson, Edin, Mostafa, Rob, Said. It took a village, and family, to pull this wedding off.And a shout out to one of the wedding banquet servers, Pam. She was there at the wedding Saturday night until 12:30am, and then we saw her at 10:00am when we went down the breakfast. And she was smiling and gushing about our wedding. First of all, what a champion, but to do it all with the biggest smile... it truly made our day the next day.We can't say enough. And we couldn't be more grateful.

Sharon Peterson: To Alex, Jennifer and the entire staff at The Charles Hotel,You helped us achieve all of our daughter’s and new son in law’s wedding of their dreams. Ben Spader: Pretty good. Hotel walls are a little thin so you can hear what's going on in the hallway, but other than that I was pretty impressed. Really great views from the room of the waterRooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view …More
Deanna Melendez: Last minute stay and I had a great stay! The room was very clean! I also had a spectacular view of the Charles and the skyline of Boston! Would stay here again!
Sara Jane Dimond: We have stayed here a couple different times over the last five years and previously had very great experiences here. This time there was a very noticeable plummet in the quality of our stay. The staff was pleasant to a point but was very rude when asked if room service was available (it isnt) and our room had clearly not been thoroughly cleaned. There was previous trash left in all the bins including a used panty liner in the bathroom trash. Then while we were in the pool a guest brought an unleashed large dog into the pool and threw it in the deep end at another guest who was visibly injured and bleeding in the water. The dog struggled in the pool for several minutes until other guests intervened and lifted the dog out. These guest were also injured. At no point during this ordeal did we see a staff member intervene or come along to check on others involved. We will be going elsewhere for our vacations in the future.
Amanda Bandeira: Hotel excellent, however we were 3 in the room and only have towels for 2.We asked to someone to come to bring towels and bed linen for the third guest and they only brought towels and a blanket. After we called 2 times, someone brought us a extra set of bed linen, but said He couldnt make the sofá bed arrengements. We did ourselves. But besides that, everything was excellent. For sure I Will book this hotel again. And the hotel restaurant is excellent.
Yoyo MA: Very nice lobby andhotel but rooms are poorly lit. Too much waste with bottled water - should find a better, eco friendly solution.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Mike: The banquet hall was perfect size and the food was very good. I liked that the hall was near the front and easily located.
Robert Schwerdt: The hotel was pretty nice, but they totally dinged me with hidden fees upon checkout. I was absolutely NEVER made aware of their hidden junk fees at any point. I’ve contacted customer service and they really don’t care. I get copy and paste “brush off” responses, but they’re unable to verify that I was made aware of fees (because I wasn’t) and unwilling to refund them.
Bob Field: Loved everything about this hotel except the Starbucks wannabe shop downstairs that had one price on the menu (which was $1.40 more expensive than a real Starbucks) but then charged me $.50 more putting my Mocha at well over $7.00. Enough already!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Gina: Beautiful, Clean and Modern Decor. Two beautiful cafes on main level. Great, Kind, Professional Staff. Beautiful Views of the River. Convenient Centralized location. Dated amenities, no room service, rooms are compact but beautiful and have all necessities including mini fridge, extra storage and desks, motion sensored lighting. Small plasma tvs. Very nice, simple fitness center, has all the basic but updated equipment. Bathrooms always well maintained.Walls are paper thin. Elevator is loud. One elevator was out so there is a small wait for the elevator. Alittle pricy but I still had an overall good experience. 👍 I would do it again.Walkability: Easy to walk to main attractions near by, bring your walking shoes!!
