Massachusetts General Hospital: what do users think?
Bull Winkle: Been going here for over 20 years. But have been walking away disheartened since the merger between competition and now together Brigham Mass General. My observation is it's a merger of reduced budgets brought on by powerful trustees. Many of the better doctors and nurses that made Mass Gen great, have left to work for more prestigious hospitals ! They're trying to automate everything to patient gateway to cut costs. Some departments doctors aren't seeing patients in person. They're not even bothering to come to the office. They're trying to do everything virtually, its a fiasco 6/22 Update, Mass General has fallen from 1st to 8th in USNews national rankings. 2023 update, Mass General hospital now prohibits patients from complaining about there healthcare. Talking about calling the kettle black !
scotti mac: This place is the worst for scheduling and keeping appointment times. My experience relates to OBGYN services and Ultrasound. My wife and I can’t believe how behind they are always and the wait times. One of our experiences was an ultrasound then then Dr appt hours later.
Marie Doucette: I’ve never experienced anything like this before. I am leaving MGH ER in Boston at 5:35 am after spending over10 hours sitting in the waiting room. There were patients in beds in the halls lined up like sardines. The nurses are drawing blood and putting in IV lines in the crowded halls and waiting rooms. This has to be a health code violation for sure. I was told by the ER doctor that I was being admitted to see a specialist in the morning but hours and hours later, I’m still in the waiting room. I asked to speak to the doctor and 2 hours later a different doctor arrived and said he decided not to admit me and to just wait in the waiting room to see the specialist when he got in, He had no idea why I was even there, he never asked. After being awake for 24 hours, I was not only exhausted, I felt so much worse than when I got there to begin with. That was an absolute waste in so many ways. I will never go back!
Lokranjan Majhi: Great hospital.
Tom Zhao: Gooooooood
John Mckinnon: Outstanding nurses, I don't know how they manage to perform their assignments under such circumstances . Thank you for all you do!!
Djamine Illa Nary: The level of patience that the staff displays is extraordinary. This place is always overcrowded yet the staff takes care of everyone without flinching.
E James: This hospital is not what it used to be, have to wait 4 months for surgery for a burst disk, have now been told that the wait will cause me to never be able to use my legs again. Lol.... Go to Tufts!
James Mill: Have spent several days at MGH supporting a sibling. It has been a tumultuous time, and I witnessed firsthand the extraordinary challenges that the staff faces in the Emergency Department. I want to call out two employees, in particular, Dr. Chait and a nurse named Alan from the ER, who showed tremendous grace under pressure and empathy, which ultimately helped sustain us through a tough time. Thank you, and I hope someone reading this will pass along the kudos to these two individuals.
Matthew St. Germain: Worst patient experience for Lyme Care. Worst Referral process. Worst Patient care in New England. Do not bother to contact them for any Lyme related services, they do not accept referrals. They will not tell you until you have submitted your request 3 or more times without response. The gate keepers will be condescending and tell you it was not received (although you can clearly access your referrals on the portal). Then you will receive a fax back telling you that you've just wasted 3 months of your time trying to get care because they do not accept referrals from "outside". Avoid them for your own personal health.
Gisa Diniz: Oiltimo
Eileen Brown: i came to mass general for serious GI issues from northern new hampshire. i came there as i always heard that mass general was the number one hospital and world class care. i found a doctor whom i thought was really good. so good i thought i waited over four months to see him. the visit was fine i thought. it only got bad when i spoke up for myself concerning my very low and elevated labwork. Dr. Botoman said everything fine, everything mild, normal when i knew it wasnt. when i couldn't get a response over my elevated blood level he sent me a message at 8:30 pm. very angerly. stating and i quote " You need to forget the labs and your focus needs to be on your weight and mental health. when i was there with him he disregarded previous hospitals report. saying " they dont even sound sure and he could even have my condition the previous hospital suspected, and he was more concerned with my throat than my stomach. my endoscope he said was just routine, no cause for concern. i was suppose to wait 5 1/2 months as it was "no big deal". I finally said enough. and mind you this wasnt the only horror experience i had at mass general. i went elsewhere and come to find out, previous hospital was correct. told i had atrophic gastritis and pernicous anemia. look it up if you dont know just how serious they are. Dr. Botoman literally played with a very serious health condition. i guarentee a medical complaint will be in the works from me for this. Dr. Botoman and mass general are the worst excuse for a doctor and hospital i have experienced. this borders on medical neglect. plain and simple.
David Weissman: Terri of MGH downtown in Boston is absolutely wonderful! She is extremely empathetic, Kind, professional, caring with an amazing bed side manner.
James Cali: Good luck getting an appointment. You are lucky if they answer your call.
Marcella Gomes: This is the worst hospital I've ever been to in my life. I waited for more than 5 hours, no doctor attended to me, I felt a lot of pain after having an accident, they left me in a room waiting for hours and the doctor did not come. then they want to charge an expensive amount for this health garbage. worst service, inhuman, lack of respect for people.
Jeff Trott: I was getting worried reading the horrible reviews while my Mom and I were waiting for my Dad to have his lung biopsy. Most of them seem to be about the emergent care, and ours was all scheduled stuff. Our whole day was seamless. Prompt check in at 6:30, imaging department was helpful and called my Mom throughout the day with updates. Every time they gave us was correct down to the minute. Dad’s biopsy went as well as it could have and they made sure he was well before discharge. If anyone is here that wrote the one star reviews, I hope everything got better for you. I felt anxious reading them and can’t imagine having to live through some of those stories.
Gilberto Otero: Only issue is always the parking. Otherwise great hospital with top notch staff . We travel from Western Mass because of it.
Bernadette McCarthy: All round excellent care.
Jim Kimbrell: I am surprised by the number of negative reviews. Is management unaware? I would not want anyone to be unsatisfied if I ran a hospital
Shafia G.: Terrible. I got a dog bite and the doctors didn’t take me seriously. Didn’t attempt to clean the bite wound at all. They gave me the bandaids and Neosporin and that’s it. I had to ask them if they are going to clean to wound and then ask them to please clean it for me. They refused to give me the rabies booster shot without knowing if the dog that bit me was vaccinated or not and come to find out that same night I got a call from the police that the dog that bit me was not vaccinated. I felt like I was brushed off and treated very poorly because of my race. I do not recommend this hospital to anyone. I was seen by Calvin K. Huang and he was very dismissive and unfriendly. I think he is racist and was unconcerned about me as a person. Very unhappy and I felt terrible after I left the hospital. The Border of Health called me the next day and told me I should have been given that rabies booster shot. But why was it not given to me? That’s the real question. I’m tired of being dismissed because of my race.
Michele: This hospital is one of the best, however, I've endured nothing but pushbacks, negative attitudes and zero direction or care when it comes to booking an appointment for an Endocrinology Consult. It's very upsetting to call, leave a message, wait for a call back only to be told regardless what insurance you have, we are unable to book the appointment until I'm able to provide the labwork beforehand. My current PCP has already seen me and ok'd that I can see another physician for a second opinion. I also believe that my information is tied to MGH and therefore should have access to all my medical information at this time. I explained to the woman that I need to book a consult for high (off the chart) estrogen and I was told to call back when I can provide the lab results. I called months ago and the woman there was nothing available for 6 months. Never once asked me about my bloodwork or what I was being seen for. I've worked in a hospital setting and know what it's like when different questions are asked, but somehow the bedside manner or care between the phone and the other person has been lost. This is a huge disappointment for me as I've had multiple family members go to MGH on a regular basis per my recommendation. There should be more consistency on what's required and the power behind the phone of hanging up on someone because of the bark of their demand shouldn't be tolerated by me as a patient or the hospital itself.

DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Boston - Cambridge: what do users think?
James Kauczka: Nice hotel, great location right off 90. Be careful of the hot water… can almost cook an egg. Way too hot.
Brian Sit: $15 per hour parking.$47 for validated overnight. The location by the highway would normally be a good thing but it means you have to loop around on one way streets to get here.At $15/hour for parking in the garage when there's nothing else nearby and it's not walkable just feels absolutely ridiculous. It's practically just a bad concrete island resort with loud road traffic.Walkability: Terrible. Not walkable. Vehicle required.
Mindy Lee: The air condition in my room was very noisy. In addition, the amount charged to my credit card was higher than the bill that was presented to me when I checked out. I have written to the hotel but have yet to receive a reply after 3 days.Rooms: 2/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More

Jörg Borkowsky: Gutes Hotel in sehr schöner Lage.

AC Hotel by Marriott Boston Cleveland Circle: what do users think?
Michael Zeman: Very comfortable, responsibility priced, and an awesome staff. Great views of the Boston marathon and minutes away from Fenway. Our housekeeping was alittle slow.Nearby activities: The subway green line is across the street with access to many shops, restaurants and sites
Robert Gray: What a nice hotel. Clean rooms, stylish, and spacious ground floor with lots of seating and plenty of quiet places to talk. Very conveniently located right by Boston College and its neighboring residential area. Parking Valet Nate was the nicest fellow and amazingly knowledgeable about cars. He was friendly, helpful, and highly responsive. General Manager Kristoffer Martin is also highly engaged and very interested in guest satisfaction. Strong leadership there. We had breakfast plans already so didn’t have their $19 breakfast buffet but we had a look and it seems excellent. There too the staff was very welcoming and gracious. All around comfortable. Free chilled water bottles in our fridge in the room. Good find.
Yisroel ross: Toilet clogged with minimal use.Food & drinks: Bars are a block awayRooms: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Linda W: We enjoyed our recent stay at the AC Cleveland Circle. The desk staff and valet were always so friendly as we walked past their desks. We love the proximity to the T stops and enjoyed three great restaurants in easy walking distance to the hotel- Cafe Landwer, Citywide Tavern, and Sushi Momento. Our room was very clean, housekeeping was thorough, and we appreciated the white noise machine in the room to dull the noise of the train nearby. No issues at all! It was also nice to be able to walk down the hall to the "hydration station" to fill a pitcher of ice water to take back to our room. And it was nice to have the little store near the front desk for snacks. We will definitely return!
Angie Champion Holland: Was charged for a stay I had cancelled weeks prior. Tried to explain to GM Sam H. that I called the hotel to confirm the cancellation after receiving an email about my upcoming stay and was assured there was no existing reservation in my name. I gave him the time, date, and duration of the call. He said they don't track calls and they can't call guests when they don't check in. I'm a Marriott titanium elite member. Sam was apathetic and never mentioned that a case could be created to investigate the call. Hopefully the case Marriott created will resolve the charge, but also implement better customer service training for GMs like Sam.
Frank Aris: Great location. Very reasonably prices. Perfect service and rooms. Highly recommended.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Great value …More

Kenneth Riley: Nice hotel overall, but pipe burst, water went out and refund not forthcoming for stay on Feb 4th.
Lea U: Awful experience. There was still trash in the room from the previous occupant. Lighting in the room is awful. One of the light switches was broken so I had to sleep with the light on. Very thin walls and you can hear every door close. The bed is literally the least comfortable hotel bed I have EVER slept on.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Rebecca Walsh: Love the hotels customer service! Got accommodated to a bigger suit for a smaller price! I recommend this hotel 100%
Lynn Carter: Suite was very large and accommodating. Great location! So many restaurants and things to do for your family. My daughter also enjoyed the pool!
Keepingupwith London: If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would ! This establishment is very unprofessional and unhygienic for the price point . I found reddish /brown splatter stains on my mattress cover which sent my OCD through the roof . I immediately went to check out after I seen this and wanted a full refund. I explained what I seen and also had photo proof. They didn’t want to give me a refund they wanted to give me credit to Half of a day stay. Which I would not want to stay here again so I don’t know why this is an option. I was given the run around when I asked for the supervisors information to speak with them directly all of a sudden “they didn’t have any contact info for the head person” . Which I find not truthful. I had to pull teeth and demand information for the supervisors contact info. hopefully it’s the correct information because he just scribbled a name on a sticky note . They told me I would only get a full refund if they seen fit. I’m emotional at this point and worked up and very anxious my experience was terrible!!! they also stated to me that they have to see a specific type of problem to give me back the money I paid ?!?!? How does this make sense.. . I also asked what scenario would have been needed in order to get a full refund, they told me they couldn’t disclose that with me ……I shouldn’t have to argue with an “assistant manager” for the problem to be solved when all I wanted to do was get my refund. I address the severity of my anxiety and what the dirty room did to me emotionally , I was brushed off and was told that they would need to have me escorted off the premises by the police. That is no way to treat a customer after you guys failed to offer the proper sanitation that every hotel should have. SAM HAYES is very unprofessional and a liar who needs to be properly trained in assisting situations like this without being hostile and uncooperative and ignorant. He was very in consistent in the things he was saying , he was talking in circles and was stating “ he’s trying to help me out “ I’m very displeased with my service here and I’m still waiting to get my FULL REFUND
Maura Dias: Safety: Thanks for everything.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Great value …More
Naomi Siegel: I understand that hotels are trying to save money by not changing sheets daily, but this place promised fresh towels every day and then didn't deliver. (And I"m SO tired of places that suggest you save water by reusing towels and then don't give you anywhere to hang up used ones to dry...) The walls were thin and we could hear the TV from the room next door. The toiletries (large pump bottles) in the shower ran out because no one was paying attention to refilling them. There was no night-light in the bathroom -- there was a very faint glow under the mirror that served only to show you where the mirror was. The bathroom lacked a vent and any semblance of privacy. The water temperature changed at random during showers. The pad of paper provided had ONE sheet of paper, which we used up the first day asking for TWO washcloths for two guests -- but then we got no towel service, anyhow. The bed was uncomfortably hard -- I like a firm mattress, but not one that doesn't give at all. The lighting was very poor, even for reading in bed. No overhead lights, as others have noted. Not a good place to hang out -- or to sleep, for that matter. Bring ear-plugs.We didn't eat at the hotel, so I can't speak to their food quality, but the free coffee provided in the lobby in the mornings was undrinkable. The hot water provided for tea ran out and wasn't replaced until a customer asked. We won't be back.
Brad Rogers: In town for Clemson-BC game. Great location 1 mile from stadium. Room was ready when promised, clean and good condition. Little trouble with check-in due to new employee. What he lacked in experience, he made up for in enthusiasm. Kudos to bartender, can’t remember her name, but she was handling it by herself before we left for the game, maybe 15-20 people and no one was waiting long for service. Got back from game at 11:00, she was still by herself but bar was slammed, 40+ people. Not only was she handling game crowd, but hotel had hosted a wedding and wedding party and guests were in the bar as well. She was awesome, maintained her composure, communicated well with her customers and served them as quickly as she could. One of the best bartending jobs I’ve ever seen.

i M: Stayed here for 2 nights. Breakfast is on the same level as motels with little variety of food. It is not tasty. Very crowded with only a few tables. There was no seating so many people took their food to their rooms to eat. Also, there are two elevators and one is out of order so the elevators were always crowded.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 3/5 …More

Andrew Guiel: Location was great. Bed in room 611 was terrible.. It was so worn in. You sunk to the pit in the middle of the bed. Explained to reception my mattress was very uncomfortable and they apologized. I appreciate the apology, but I won’t be staying there again.I also see in previous reviews complaints about the mattresses. Apparently it’s not just me!!
A Lowry: I was really disappointed with this hotel. The rooms were clean but could use updating. Our tub has rust visible so taking a nice bath was out of the question. Unfortunately, our room faced a construction area (they did not work while we were there) but had bright lights on all night, you could hear others 3-4 rooms down so the walls are thin and the hot tub jets didn’t work properly. The free breakfast was pretty good and the staff attended that was very present to help anyone with anything. I wouldn’t stay here again unfortunately since it wasn’t a relaxing night as expected for a family.
Jeanie Inglis: The best thing about this hotel is that the breakfast is decent and I was pleasantly surprised about that. Also it is very close to the USS Constitution for some National Parks experience and near the water, which can be beautiful when it isn’t winter. But, there’s a lot of construction on the bridge next to the hotel and it is a bit of a hike across the footbridge (also doesn’t feel safe) to get to downtown and Little Italy. Our room was super outdated like Grandma’s room stuck in the 90’s. Stained lampshade, broken handles, stained tables. And the worst Marriott bed I have ever slept in. Looking at the bed it was literally slanted, so one side was considerably lower than the other. My husband kept rolling into me every night. And it was extremely soft and lumpy. They should have thrown out the mattress years ago. We opted for housekeeping service, but no one came during the 3 days we were there. No luggage rack, no extra towels as requested. We checked out and went to the Westin instead. I have stayed at other Marriott Residence Inns before and they’re really fantastic, but this one was a big disappointment.
jennifer hill: Rooms are a little outdated but clean and comfortable .Front desk was very helpful and accommodating at check in.Kitchens are well stocked, pots pans silverware even measuring spoons and a veggie peeler. Beds were comfortable and room was quiet.Location was great close to the garden, fanueil hall, north end , aquarium ,museum of science etc. All within 15-20 min walk and close to the T if you prefer to ride the subway.Great view of the bridge and the harbor.. Very pleased with everything and certainly will return♥️
Nat Tangpipith: Good value stay. Prompt check in, clean room, and friendly staffs. Breakfast buffet is included with sufficient options and wide selection of beverage. There are 2 options for parking: valet for $50/day or public parking lot near by for $32/day. Location is convenient near US Constitution, navy yard, and stop 3 of Old Town Hop on/Hop off tour all within 5 minutes walk. We were also lucky to get upgrade to king suite with harbor view. This hotel is suitable especially for family with children!
Robert Kalfus: GREAT hotel with terrific ambiance and location! Enjoyed the late afternoon happy hour when the hotel provided free beer and wine, and enough food to be called a dinner. Great to meet other visitors and share experiences and travel tips. The hotel is located at the base of the bridge, with piers and a small marina surrounding, makes for an enjoyable local walk and esdy access. Quiet. Only a few local restaurants.
Bren Leonard: Lovely hotel nestled on the river. Great location.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Ian Maclure: Great stay! I stayed for a week and enjoyed every day! Breakfast was great, the room was clean and well-appointed, and the service was friendly and professional. The location was excellent as well, 5 min walk to downtown, 2 min to the USS Constitution. I didnt have a car but noticed that it is pay-to-park here so that may be an issue for some.

Melissa Henderson: For an expensive place we’ve stayed before, we had to check out early and had no place for all of us to change after the rainy Boston Marathon. Runners had a single room to shower and change with a long line of folks waiting. We had to sit in the hallway in our wet clothes. I had to change at the airport.

Valet service was great as well and all the guys were fun and friendly 😁 Large room with a great view of the Square and the Charles River. Would definitely stay here again! Robi N: The Westin at Copley deserves more than a 5/5. I stay at this hotel every other week when I travel for business. Everything about this hotel is spot on, from the check-in, to the M Club Lounge, to the gym and amenities it has become my favorite spot to stay. Irene is very attentive to each guest and her team Chen, Freddy, Jimmy Y, Ezra, Karla & Julia always go above and beyond and make me feel at home. Ravi & Maya are also exceptional and have helped me with all of my concerns. Duane at the valet is awesome! (Everyone mentioned here deserves a promotion, they always take care of their guests and go above and beyond my expectations) With constant heating and cooling the rooms can get dry, but they have humidifiers available to prevent any discomfort. The gym is always clean with fresh new towels, and cold towels for your post workout cool down. The meals at the M Club is always tasty, even on busy days, I make it a point to go in and grab something. This hotel is a great spot for frequent travelers, but the best part is the staff. Thank you all for making me feel welcome during each of my stay.
