Jackie Owens: Great dumplings, but also a wide selection of other dishes makes this a wonderful stop if in Cambridge. I went at 3 pm, but service was excellent even in the middle of shift change. I went for the soup dumplings specifically, but would explore most of the menu if I had the chance. Utensils and hand sanitizer are organized and handy for each table.
정신영: We ordered cold jellyfish(해파리냉채), mini soup dumplings with pork(소룡포) and crispy duck.If you're expecting mini soup dumplings like in Din Tai Fung, I don't recommend it. The dumpling skin is thicker and the pork is less juicy.But the Cold jellyfish is delicious. I never thought I would be able to eat this in the US. I will visit here for cold jellyfish.Crispy duck was not what I imagined. What I expect was thinly sliced duck wrapped in wheat cakes with vegetables, that is Beijing duck. However, this duck is a roast duck. But the taste is good.Their name is Dumpling House, but unfortunately the dumplings are the worst.😅

G Frye: Their food was great. I liked going there when I lived in Cambridge. When I returned years later, the dishes were more saucy and oily then I remembered. They were busy, but the service was fast. They were able to seat our big party without any wait time on a week night.

Thomas Laub: 4.5 Stars. This could be 5 stars if they get the smaller details as well as they do the big ones, like the food, which is spot on for quality and preparation. They also serve sushi which was excellent; they just need to remember it’s Japanese when serving, not Chinese. The serving details are different. Perhaps they’re a bit out of practice for dining-in with the pandemic and all, but their friendliness makes up for the small misses. The aesthetic in the dining room was done by someone with a very good eye. I’m told it’s the owner. It’s nearly perfect.

Lydia Chew: 🚨 CLOSING SOON (12/31/2022) 🚨They've been a Cambridge Central Square staple for decades but are unfortunately closing shop at the end of 2022. They never reopened for dine in after COVID. I went to check them out, knowing that pretty soon the opportunity would be gone, and I was astonished to hear that the average wait time for orders was upwards of 2 hours. Their kitchen has been incredibly backed up and they don't take orders online or over the phone. I'm not sure if the massive wait is because everyone is trying to eat there before they close, or if this issue has been ongoing throughout the pandemic, but party after party left upon hearing the estimated wait time.I ordered the scallion pancakes. Since it was a simple appetizer, it was ready within the hour. It was indeed pretty good, and it was paired with a very tasty soy sauce. I hadn't had that particular combination before but quite enjoyed it.Vegetarian options: Most of their popular dishes have meat, though they can make some of them in a vegetarian variation.

Or it was?Refusing dine-in service when pretty much every other single restaurant in the country has reopened is cheap and lazy. It seems clear at this point that they simply don't want to rehire wait staff and it has nothing to do with pandemic concerns.Quality isn't the same for takeout, and for me (I now only visit Boston occasionally - don't live here) basically makes it impossible to enjoy their food.

Sonii B: I was in Cambridge visiting my family. My dad wanted some egg foo young which he hadn’t had for awhile. I tried a few restaurants before Mary Chung’s said they could make it. When I picked up my order, I was asked how I knew they had egg foo young since it’s not on the menu…also that their chef can make anything he’s that talented. Guess what? It was the best I’ve ever had and that’s saying a lot. I will definitely return.

Veronica Wisniewski: It’s been 30 some Years since I’ve eaten here. So this is a nostalgia review. I now live on the west coast near Richmond BC where you can find Chinese food people travel from Hong Kong for. It’s that good. I’ve never found anything like the Soan la shoa choa and Dun dun noodles served at Mary’s. They were that good. Reviews suggest the recipes and preparation have been passed down. May the legacy continue. I hope that I will someday have the chance again.

When I leave a tip I leave a certain percentage for a reason and I feel like they deserve it and hostess accosted my wife on the way out of the building demanding that we give the waitress more of a tip. B Song (BS_oow): Surprised why the rating is so high, as when I eat there at dinner time on Sunday, there are no other customers. The seasoning is extremely poor, basically adding some bean sauce to every dish, making them too salty while not spicy enough. Some of the fish fillet was uncooked. The price is too high while the amount is not enough. Juan Salinas: This place is aweful. The place is ran but a father and son. The son is rude and has a terrible attitude. The dad is a very nice old man. Starting that The menu does not correct prices. They are actually $4-6 more per plate. I ordered a shrimp with broccoli steam with garlic sauce on the side. (As it was written in the menu). Well it didn’t come with the sauce. I had to ask for it. And they charge me $5 for it. The dish didn’t come with white rice either. I don’t know any Chinese restaurant that gives you a rice dish without the rice. When I asked for it they charge me an extra $4. We also ordered a stream shrimp dish. But they brought a fried something. My dad didn’t started to eat it. 5 minutes later the son came and took the half eaten dish off the table and said that wasn’t ours. What did he do wit it ? Serve to someone else ? Then the nice old man (dad) came to bring us the steam dumplings and the son literally took the fish off his hands , yell at him in chinese and pushed him off to the kitchen while he was yelling. I have no idea how anyone has given this place anything but a 1 star. Maybe in the past this place was run by the dad.

Drew F: This food was just awful (dumplings - tough dough, sesame cold noodles - mushy/bad taste, string beans with ginger sauce - overcooked). It all tasted bad and had terrible textures. The one decent thing we got was the sesame chicken…but it was $18 and had no rice or noodles included and only had about 8 pieces of chicken. Huge ripoff

Daniel A: Wonderful little restaurant in the North of Cambridge! The big draw here is the handmade dumplings (most other places utilise machines) but here everything is made by a lovely lady. I strongly recommend the pork dumplings and also the basil chicken!

Jack Ross: I had the vegetarian leek dumplings which were excellent. Good environment too. My family had the shrimp dumplings and spicy string beans which were also very good.My one suggestion is to have the wrap for the vegetarian dumplings a different color than that of the meat dumplings, which is what the nearby Szechuan's Dumpling does. Otherwise it is impossible to tell which dumplings are which, and that can be a problem for vegetarians.Also when we tried to call the phone would not be picked up, but that ended up not being much of a problem because we then decided to order through GrubHub.
