Makaila Pollard: NEVER AGAIN HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
Samantha DiPrisco (Sam D.): one of my favorite spots, can't wait to come back!Parking: main lot is kinda small, so if its busy parking might be a bit of an issue - but its free on sundays. Also, if you dont mind walking the next st over is Porter Sq shopping center. both are right off the red line
Scott Sullivan: Amazing curry, so rich and tasty. Also enjoyed the takoyaki and tempura vegtables very much. Service was stellar, she was busy but managed the tables very well and friendly. Excited to return.
Patryk Maciak: My family love this place. Tasty, authentic and affordable. Having traveled to Japan, this is the real deal. Love their Tonkatsu curry udon.
Xin DONG (Robert): Recommended dishes Tempura Entree, Kara-Age Chicken, Shrimp Tempura Udon, Fried Oyster, Tea and Miso SoupMore
Rajib Momen: Great chicken-based ramen broth
Takako Moriguchi: They serve authentic Japanese foods - the chef is Japanese. The menu is something very common in Japan - like Katsu curry, kimpira, onigiri, etc. if you want to experience true Japanese "greasy spoon" place in Boston, this is the place for you. The resultant reminds me of one of restaurants in Shinjuku station. They have fantastic selection for carry out too. Do you miss bento in Konbini (convenience store) in Japan? They have them!!
Gordon Fu: The taste is very good. The octopus balls are not very recommended. They seem to be fried, not made by a ball machine. The curry rice is delicious if there is a little more vegetables.
Lukas Röllin: Incredible place with amazing food and fair prices.
Tyler Busby: Great small little place, the pork katsu curry cheese really hits the spot.
Aaron Fan: They have soba noodles and it is good!
Sharon Liang: Kara age chicken and oyako were a bit disappointed
John John: One of the best Japanese curry ever in Boston. Try thr pork katsu curry. Katsu is thick and juicy unlike any other place in bos I have neen too.Parking: Pay parking at the building
patrick carroll: Absolutely delicious katsudon
Cameron Purdie: Amazing little place that sells Japanese street food, curries, fried chicken and pork, etc. Everything is fantastic and made with love. Hearty and filling but very affordable.
Andrew Reker: Dine in: Yes Takeout: Yes Delivery: Yes Curbside pickup: NoMore
Elaine Yang: So delicious!! We ordered seafood tempura udon, katsu don, chicken pop and fried oyster. They are all super tasty!! Fried oyster is a must-have :-)
Pretty Varghese: Sweeeetest owners. They're fantastic at frying. Each dish feels like a hug in a bowl.

Jude Alfaro: This place is OK. One of the 3 rolls ate was amazing the others just average. Service was slow for it being not packed and sushi. Tables looked beat up and sticky. Mo J White: Sushi 🍣 is good. But the atmosphere is very sad and dead. The music will definitely put you 😴 sleep. The service is kind and friendly. The hot tea is plentiful cause the server kept coming to make sure the teacups were filled to the top. But unfortunately there were Nats flying around 😕. Not good! I woul have given them a 4.Parking: Full lot available
Bianca Ito Gandini: We ordered the two torched rolls and crab roll and they were all absolutely delicious! One of the best sushis I had in the area.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Roll …More
William Boland: Always extremely disappointed when you order rolls that are NOT advertised to have tempura and then you get a roll with tempura. Which is something many people with food sensitivities need to avoid, and is also a major indicator of poor quality ingredients. Tempura needs to be advertised if its present in rolls (Salmon Monster Roll, e.g.)
tatsiana yakimovich: Waiter messed up with a menu - brought two main entries for two different persons at one plate and didn’t tell anything. As a result one person was keep waiting for his sushi set and left hungry at the end. Horrible service as waiter had attitude. All plates were cracked plus dirty plates on a back side. Plus everyone got food poison once got home. Be aware and stay away from this place!!!

Josh “Yoshi” Portuondo-Dember: Very high quality fish. Tekka Don rice is on the vinegary side (and I like that a lot). Very nice barely flavor comes out in their green tea.
Karima Rebbah: This is the place to goI am a crazy sushi person and the only place i have the feeling i am eating sushi is this placeThe must go
Josh Middleton: This looks every bit like a sushi restaurant in an upscale shopping complex — modern, slightly dated decor, kind of soulless. I wasn’t expecting much, but the sushi was damn good — especially the double spicy salmon roll, which isn’t doubly spicy; it has double the amount of salmon. So good. It paired beautifully with a glass of Prosecco. My husband had a deep-fried roll, which was not as good as similar rolls he’s gotten from other places. It was light on fish, and almost bread-y tasting. Not my thing. That’s not enough to deter me, though. I’ll definitely be back. It’s the best sushi in the near-Rozzie area that I’ve tried in my almost two years of living here.
Kandy Thongsongkrid: Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Patrick Woods: I came here during my recent stint to Mass. Treat yo self 2022 was in full effect tonight (sorta) lol. I stuck to sushi only and got the spicy tuna maki, Spider roll, and Rainbow roll. All for take out.Upon entrance I was greeted quickly by staff and the order was ready upon arrival. Talk about quite the spread - Peep the pics. The spicy salmon wasn't too spicy, it still had a kick, but not too bad w/large pieces of meat accompanied by crunchy goodness rolled inside. The Spider roll had a very sizable and delicious SS crab stuffed within. Always a favorite to order, if available, and this hit the spot. Especially the crab itself. Super yummy. The Rainbow roll came in clutch w/fresh fish topping a texture explosion underneath. This was a good cleanser for the finish.Parking: Strip mall parking. Was banging when I pulled up. Had to hunt down a spot.

Valerie Viengngeune: Beautiful restaurant friendly laid back service. You can get right to this restaurant by taking the green line train. Amp parking in front of the restaurant, across the street. The food was good. We had sushi which was fresh but if you are a noodle person like me I would not recommend the spicy ramen at all. It’s not flavorful and has a unique taste. Overall a good experience as we requested a room which you can shut with rolled shutters at
Jennifer Sereda: It's a Boston must. Amazing Sushi. Went there with a group of 6, ordered shishito peppers, garlic edamame, gyozo, lobster tempura, some sort of teapot soup, shitake soup, sashimi taco trio, tuna carpaccio all delicious, then we got the Shogun Combo. Finished it off with toro & sake flights.
Taylor Packer: A really great sushi place for a date or night out. The atmosphere is really clean and modern, I especially liked the booths. The rolls were all great. I would come again!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Sushi & Sashimi Combination, Edamame …More
J Love: Extremely racist establishment. First they asked us if we had a reservation when the establishment was empty restaurant. Then we waited over 20 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us....Stay away from this place!!!! Will post a tiktok later!!!
Ralph T: 😎
Farnaz Pezeshki: I take back everything I said in my review 3 years ago. And I’m never ever going back. I’ve been going here for almost 20 years but last night was so disastrous I’m never going back. Got the absolute worst treatment. Mistreated from the moment we walked in early for our dinner reservation all the way to having to cancel our order and walk out. Absolutely despicable. No matter how good and fresh the sushi is, when the service is this terrible and the staff are this rude, it ruins the experience. They didn’t even try to make it up to us or keep us from cancelling our order. No one cares about customer experience any more. This was my review before:Hands down the best spicy tuna ever! Those crunchy tempura bits make all the difference. The mango ebi maki - to die for (def pricy though). I honestly haven't had anything here that hasn't been incredible. And if it's less than incredible they'll make it incredible.
Pack 50 Milk Street: Very good place to hand out with friends. The hot dishes here are very good but I believe the sushi can be better than this. The fish is kinda has no flavors somehow. But overall, I enjoy the meals here.
Karen Wong: TLDR: Good semi-overpriced food. I felt like we were being scammed by their service, unintentionally or intentionally.I booked a room for 5 people this past Sunday. Note that you have to make a minimum purchase of $75 PER PERSON if you want to book the room. So for us, our min purchase was $375. When we arrived on time, we had to wait 5-10 minutes before being seated. The room seated max 6 people with sliding doors to filter out noise. The lamp at the top had a lot of collected dust hanging, so I was worried it might fall onto the food. Not sure if it did, not going to think too much into that.We ordered a Fugakyu boat, sushi, and makimomo's. The sashimi was pretty good, though I question the price for some of the food. Halfway into eating the food that was brought out, we realized they never gave us one of our makimomo's, so we had to ask them for it. They said they forgot about it, but it was fine since it's just one order that they overlooked..for now. When we realized we didn't order enough food to meet that minimum requirement, we ordered more sashimi and sushi, with a beef teriyaki and 2 orders of karaage chicken for takeout. They brought out our takeout 15 minutes before we left. After we left, we realized they didn't give us our 2 orders of karaage chicken. We checked the receipt and we did in fact paid for them too. By then it was 15 minutes before they were closing. We called them and they asked us if we could come back before they closed. Thankfully we were close by. If we weren't, they would've cheated $26 from us because they forgot, or "forgot"..It might be worth trying without booking the room so you have more flexibility in terms of how much sushi you want to eat. This isn't how a customer should feel like, but I recommend making sure the food you ordered is there in case they forget, or "forget".
JY L: I have never experienced worser service at any other restaurant I have been to. To start off, we had a reservation for our party and once we arrived, the receptionist was confused and could not locate the reservation. We were then momentarily led to a table upstairs, and in the midst of 5 minutes, were then told to leave the table as it was for another party. So the entire party was shuffled back down to the waiting area.Soon we were then led to a private booth, which they hastily put together but obviously above seating capacity. All 8 of us were then squeezed into a booth meant for 6 people max. We had to complain because we were literally suffocating from being squeezed like sardines. They finally moved us to another more spacious booth. The inconvenience was one thing but the experience was humiliating and did not sit well with us.When I confronted the Manager before we left, I was told that there was confusion with our reservation time which we had called to adjust way ahead. The Manager went on to explain reasons why they may have messed up the reservation and tried to justify the confusion. I felt the blame was placed back on the customer for adjusting the reservation time rather than them owning up to the mistake.Notwithstanding, the food itself was mediocre, nothing truly memorable or anything to rave about. The Ichiban Mori Combo was supermarket sushi served on a fancy plate. The sukiyaki was overly sweetened and made me slightly nauseous. Overall, very much on the pricier side for what you get.Safe to say, I will not be returning again.
sconceicao94: BLAND food I can’t even explain it , don’t go here . Service is trash, servers don’t care you will be waiting forever. The food is overpriced and overrated not worth your money. You pay so much for the quality and food portion you received. I don’t recommend.
Samir Sharan: Reservation doesn’t mean much here, keep some buffer
Alex Sann: Our waiter came back to us with our checks harassing us for more tip for food that were mediocre at best. Not worth 70$ per person in my opinion but I guess you’re paying for the sliding doors and decorative trees. 1 star for the audacity.
Jackie: The only place I’ll order sashimi in Boston. Pricey but superior. Please don’t ever change FuGaKyu 🙏There’s definitely a premium for the atmosphere and presentation, but it’s cute. Unlike other sushi places in Boston, they don’t skimp on the fish - I can actually taste it and feel it (texture) when eating. I had almost given up on eating sushi in Boston, so I’m glad I gave this place a try!
Nicole B Garcia: This place is beautiful. Gorgeous and photogenic entry way. Best to reserve a specific table when you book your reservation. They seem to like to keep the pretty seats open. The food was fine. Nothing was bad but Nothing was spectacular. We got some apps, drinks and small sushi plates. They confused a bit of our order. They don’t seem to do anything for anniversaries because we told them it was ours the day before and while we were there.Great location but there are some crappy seats so you should maybe ask specifically for the seats you want. Definitely worth it for pictures though. Instagramable place.
Kristen Godley: Such a great experience having lunch here! Everything we had was tasty and fresh. I especially was surprised by the shrimp and crabstick naruto, it was so flavorful and refreshing! In a word, Oishi! We will be back.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Gyoza …More
Matt Levine: Sushi was average, salmon was dry, service was mediocre. Best part about the restaurant is they have a little robot fella called misuta Robotto that goes around and serves your drinks and apps.
ray yin: The decoration and environment of this restaurant are good, but the food is not up to the level it should be at this price. Not bad but not that tasty either. One thing that is not satisfying is that no one told me in advance that there would be a mandatory 20% tip. Normally I tip 20% but tonight I called the waiter 5 times during my meal and no one came to help me. It can be said that there is no waiter at all. It wasn't until the final checkout that someone finally came. Generally speaking, I will definitely not go to the restaurant for the second time.
Evan Taylor: Absolute ripoff. Average quality at 2x the price of EVERY other sushi restaurant in town.$7.50 per piece of nigiri is insane. $44 of nigiri, not counting tip, should not be 6 small pieces of average quality sushi.Dropping $200 on dinner for 2 should actually feed 2 small adults -- and maybe have more than 4 of the smallest packets of soy sauce in existent.I've been coming to Fugakyu for over 20 years. I don't know what the heck they are thinking. Here's a photo of $46 of nigiri as an example.
Anne K: I was there for lunch after a year of not coming. Food was still great and tasted the same but the service was surprisingly disappointing. We were sat by a male host then a minute later,a waitor came by with water said nothing then walked away.Literally nothing not even a "hello". Fugakyu is not a fast food restaurant and I was not expecting much of a long introduction or anything like that either but a greeting. Isn't that a normal step of service? The waiter had no communication at all like no checking on us.Not even once. We always had to ask for what we needed. I wanted to tip 10% but ...The management should train their waitstaff the way it's supposed to be because the service is the key factor of making customers come back.Anyway, it's sad to say Fugakyu today is not like before anymore...
