Aravind Byju: My car broke down close by the shop and Mark was extremely helpful and flexible for me getting my car fixed. They allowed me to leave it at the shop over the weekend and Oudy the mechanic took a look at it first thing in the morning and provided great service. They were very reasonable with changing my alternator and I would highly recommend their services, I'll be definitely coming back!

But now, I only trust him with my car repair work and recommend him across the board to friends and family. He’s always upfront with options, timing, necessity of the work, and pricing. Not only is he knowledgeable, but he’s also friendly too which makes the process of car issues feel easier.

Pedro Perez: I visited this shop on November 28, 2022, because the check engine light on my Mini Cooper went on. Oudy informed me that the thermostat needed to be replaced. I told him to go ahead, and he proceeded to replace the thermostat.About 2 weeks later, when I drove the car for the first time after the fix, the check engine light went on again. I went back the next day, on December 12, 2022, for the supposed warranty on his work. According to the invoice, the warranty is valid for two years and/or 24,000 miles. To my surprise, Oudy said that the thermostat was working fine but that now I needed to replace the fan and the water pump because they were not working and that the cost would be $1,200. I immediately got suspicious and picked up my car ASAP. I took the car to the MINI dealer, and they concluded that the water pump and fan were working perfectly fine and would not need to be replaced for many years, if ever. Then, they tried to bleed the coolant to see if that was the issue, but they told me that most likely the issue was the thermostat. Bleeding the coolant didn’t fix the issue, so they had to replace the faulty thermostat, and now the car works perfectly fine.Stay away from this place.
Sarah Moore: I know basically nothing about cars other than how to turn them on. I have gotten hosed in the past by other car detailers. When I got my most recent car I decided I would only go to one mechanic for everything. After a lot of due diligence I came here and I am SO glad that I did. The first time I came in there were a lot of repairs needed. I didn't know Oudy, but knew that he knew I knew nothing about cars. I called my brother in law who fixes cars on the side with the quote and he told me I was getting a very fair price and that whoever quoted me was an honest man. I trust my brother in law so I got all the repairs that Oudy recommended. Since then I've been seeing him for my maintenance and I love the guy. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly, kind! I would highly recommend this place. Cameron Ingram: Oudy is about as friendly and competent a mechanic as anyone could hope for.I had to have a defective tire replaced and he had the broker who provided it pay for the labor instead of passing the cost along to me, which I really appreciated. Also, he did some follow up work on a battery drainage issue at no charge.This is a guy who cares about his customers above all else which is super hard to find — I strongly recommend his shop!Edit: more praise for Oudy, who has since the review above taken my car in 3 separate times at no charge to isolate an electrical problem draining my battery. I took it to the Magazine street Shell where Oudy told me he would take care of it for me. A few hours later he called me and told me to come pick it up. It sounds like a brand new car now. Oudy along with his mechanics all worked on it and took great care of my vehicle. I will definitely be back with any other issues I have with my car going forward based on their amazing service. NJ H: Very pleased! After 6pm on Monday, we had a tire blowout. Needed a tow. They came promptly, and we agreed to be towed to their shop, which was still open. We needed specialty tires for our EV. Not available that evening, so we left the car. Following day (Tues.), they informed us it would take an extra day (until Wed.) to get our desired tires. But, at 7:30pm Tuesday, we got a call that the car was ready! It always feels good to get the car back a full day sooner than promised. Michele Dow: As a woman, I always feel nervous about taking my car in for repairs, but I have found an auto repair shop that gave me confidence I was getting exactly what was needed and for a very fair price. I had gone to the Infiniti dealer, and they said my 2013 Infiniti needed $4500 in repairs. Abe’s reviewed the quote and showed me why most of the items were unnecessary and that the rest could be done in stages. Instead of $4500, I paid Abe’s $450 to weld my exhaust system. Anna Krohn: I needed to have my car towed due to the front break calipers seizing up while driving on a Sunday evening. I chose Abe's from the list of AAA shops and I'm satisfied with my choice. I heard back from Naeem first thing on Monday morning, they already had my car up on the lift and confirmed for me it was indeed the calipers on the front that were the issue. There were other things that they spotted and recommended taking care of. Naeem explained everything, sent me photos of what he was seeing and was very communicative all day as the repairs were happening. I could have picked the car up the same day, but had to wait until Tuesday. Everyone I met in the shop when picking up was super friendly to top off the experience.The car felt good driving home so I'm happy. Needing the repairs was annoying and an unexpected expense but Naeem and the rest of the team did what they could for me. Shayne Pazyra: These guys are awesome! I got a flat tire at work on Saturday night after a 8 hour work day on the coldest day in Boston in years. Every single tire place was closed after 4pm-6pm.Triple A didn’t arrive until 4 hours later (6:30) and Abe’s came to the rescue. I called and they were so kind to me on the phone and said they could take care of me as long as I’m there before 8pm.I was welcomed by most of the staff, assured, and taken care of in about a half hour. Lawrence Cronin: Vinnie, the owner of this business, is awesome. I had a transmission problem that my regular mechanic couldn't solve and Vinnie figured it out in no time. He took my car for 2 test drives, and because it was a "quick fix", did not charge me for his time. In the future I would not hesitate to go back to New England Transmission. Vincenzo and the guys at New England fixed my transmission in a matter of a week and charged me nearly $2,000 less than what the other place quoted me for. William: I called New England Transmission when I started to have major transmission issues. They got my car in that day, and preformed the repair in a timely manner and for a fair price. The dealership was 3X the price as they would only replace my transmission not repair it. NE transmission notified me that my wheel bearings were also in rough shape, they noticed the issue when they did a test drive. I had them replace the bearings as well. Anahita Vieira: I drove over one of those concrete parking dividers outside the whole foods parking lot and was certain I ruined the car. I pulled into the driveway at a New England Transmission quite distraught and crying with my windows up. They all gave me space but asked if I was ok. When I finally calmed down I asked for help and they were kind and reassuring. The car is ok but more importantly so am I. They took a look at the car as a courtesy and did not ask me for any money (though I did offer). I so appreciate his kindness. Remember to look for the helpers. They're all around you 🙏

Ted is so very kind, trustworthy, communicative, punctual and he definitely knows his stuff. He is very honest and never tries to upsell nor does he try to force additional services down your throat. Pricing is incredibly reasonable and they always get the job done well within the time frame that he tells you. One thing I really appreciate about Ted is that he's always willing to explain what the issue was, how it was fixed, and even goes out of his way to show me the parts he's fixed/replaced to so I can have a visual and learn a bit more about my car. Ingo M: I have used Foreign Auto Center several times over the past 3 years, initially for a pre-purchase car inspection and since then whenever I had issues with the car. Prices are low, repairs are performed fast, well and everyone is friendly. I had asked to park my car a few days on their premises until I had received my license plates after the purchase (which was at the time no problem). If you want be sure to receive great service at low prices from a reliable team, you have found your place. The oldest review on google for Foreign Auto Center is 8 years old, and until today almost exclusively 5 start reviews, no 1 or 2 star reviews. That is quite impressive.

Douglas Beach: We went to GNG in Cambridge with our 2011 Mini Cooper Countryman because we are in the neighbourhood, the local Mini dealer nearby sucks in my opinion, and I had a warm recall of "Car Talk". One of the founders met us and got us organized with Casey. Since that time they've done a few repairs and are always diligent, efficient, affordable, honest about issues and time, etc. I go in and say, "here's what's going on, when do you think, here are the keys, see you." They give the appropriate responses, and I'm on my way. On the other hand, I've seen interactions where the car-owner wanted to talk more about "everything". They listen and sort all of that out, too. They are always busy as far as I've seen, they've a staff of family people, and the seem to really care about what they do. Ken Ho: I've taken several of my cars here over a decade or two. They have always been fabulous, never suggesting/pushing unnecessary fixes. I had a bad odor coming out of the air conditioning system that the dealership could not adequately diagnose, I was concerned that I would have to get rid of the car (an older car which I love). Ryan and the team found that I had some sort of refrigerant(?) that was the source of the odor, fixed it, and I was able to keep the car, which I am still happily driving.More recently, Casey evaluated my exhaust system which the same dealership made sound like it as about to explode (or that it might do so at state inspection testing time). Casey said it's actually a small leak, and suggested that it's probably not worth fixing until absolutely necessary given the normal deterioration of such systems in this New England environment. Kelly P: While this is only my second maintenance experience with Good News Garage, each visit reinforces how honest, hardworking and educational these guys are. They hold my hand through each step as I have not owned a car in decades! They strive for the highest quality and err on the side of conservative so you don't blow out your budget. I had an emergency a few weeks before my scheduled maintenance and had to have a gas station garage do some work and I called Casey panicked.He explained why it waa imperative to take care of the issue immediately and even spoke with the mechanic doing the work. I didn't know one was still in okay shape. And that's what Casey told me and that he didn't see a need to replace it ( I know many other garages that would take advantage of the situation and sell me a tire I didn't really need.) I took my vehicle in for a strange noise coming from the wheels, which they found the cause of but when I picked it up I discovered that it was still coming from a few of the wheels. They took the car back in to resolve the rest of the issue and had it fixed by the end of the day. The part that really won me over is that they didn't charge me for any of the extra labor which I feel pretty confident in assuming that any other garage would have. Owen Conneely: Vahe's garage was excellent! Another mechanic told us it was the fuel accelerator sensor and that it would cost around $500 or so to fix but he found that it was just that the electronic cable from the sensors to the fuel housing was not fully connected. He could have been dishonest and told us the same thing and charged us more for work that wasn't even necessary, but he didn't. He connected the cable properly, made some other adjustments and charged us a fair fee for the work. On top of that he reminded my stepson about the importance of safe driving which I thought was great. I will be going back there for future maintenance and repairs.
