Mahoney's Garden Centers: what do users think?
Xuedao He: 我想買亚洲大梨树如向查看照片和种类,
William Birch: I have been coming to this plant store since I moved to Boston 10 years ago. The staff is always super knowledgeable and they have the nicest selection of pottery for plants I have ever seen.
Sherry Charland: Really beautiful buildings well stocked with pots and plants as well as amendments and tools. The indoor store is packed floor to ceiling and overhead with gorgeous, healthy greens and a *stunning* selection of decorative pots
Andrew Beauchesne: One of the best, if not the best, garden center and nursery in the Boston area. I keep coming back for the large variety of healthy plants, even during the off season, at reasonable prices. The pot selection is good too.
Moraru Marta: What an extraordinary shop! I had a truly spiritual adventure for 1 hour here and of course I did not leave the store without 2 gorgeous plants that will complete my apartment harmony !I’d like to thank the lady at the cashier who explained so clearly and accurately about everything my plants would need to live happily!
Max E Single: I look forward to shopping Mahoney’s for my gardening needs and advice. Reliable quality, good advice, customer service, decent prices, unusual products and decor all good reasons to visit.
Danila Massara: Amazing place! Lots of plants of all types, good prices and an incredible selection of gorgeous pots and vases of all size and colors. I will be back
Naira A.: I'm an avid plant lover and I've purchased many plants from Mahoney's over the years so I was really disappointed when I found out my $30 pothos plant was dying of root rot because they had planted several cuttings in an 8 inch deep pot to make it look like a lush plant. About 3 days after purchasing it I kept finding rotten pieces in the pot - figured it was adjusting to its new home and I kept cleaning out the rotten pieces. By the end of the week I was starting to get worried since none of the soil was drying (mind you I have not once watered it since bringing it home). Took the plant apart with hopes of repotting in fresh soil only to find 10-15 cuttings with shallow roots and a bunch of rotten roots. I don't even have a receipt to return it. I will be looking for a new nursery to purchase from.
Greg Ivey: My favorite place for plants in the GBA.
Jeremy Blaustein: My go to for all of my gardening needs. I really appreciate that they clearly label options for native species.
Aaron Franklin: Beautiful holiday displays. Prices are a little high though
Cat: Beautiful complex, I came during June and they had a lovely selection of plants including indoor and outdoor. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Aldo Solares: James is awesome!
Michelle Healy: Winchester location is by far the best
selim gurel: Great , quality selection with higher prices normally.
Daya Puls: This place is in Brighton! It's a gardening center, nothing else. We come here a lot because they are close by and have a good variety.
Wei: I have been a loyal customer for 12 years, but the most recent experience there made me decide to no longer shop plants there. As other people mentioned in their reviews, most of the staff there are so nice and friendly but not the manager (an older White man). He yelled at us for no reason and being super rude to my friend who is an Asian female. We are shocked by his attitude and rudeness. While I do not want to play the race card, but he was super nice to other White male customers in the meantime, making us feel like we are inferior and not welcomed there. So goodbye, Mahoney, and I will stop recommending you to all my friends.
Jackie Barr: Mahoney's has such a broad selection of plants and everything you need for tending a garden or a small farm!I appreciate that they are locally-owned and that they have some specialized and unique things and also some basic affordable things for someone new to the area and just getting back into gardening like me.Feels great to walk through here. The staff is helpful, it smells good and earthy, and it's got such a variety of things to choose from.
Em Hooper: Friendly, helpful, great selection of mulches
Ellen Lockwood: Huge selection of healthy plants.
Roslyn Heafitz: Helpful staffBeautiful goodsGreat prices

Gerard's: what do users think?
Chris Kicza: Beautiful garden center, great selection of harder to find plants, owner seems like a good guy and has been helpful to me.I don't know anything about their pies. It kinda sounds like people may be getting a little too worked up about the pies.
Karen Hrynyszyn: Paid triple the price for a tiny pumpkin pie, couldn’t wait to eat it! Love supporting local Farm stands but unfortunately the Pumpkin pie was MOLDY!! It was like flushing $20 down the drain!!
Bonnie Krajeski: Bought an extremely expensive lemon poppy seed loaf there $17 and it wasn’t even cooked.
Devin C: Shocked by these other reviews. These pies are DELICIOUS! I can't drive by without picking one up.
Aaron Reaney: Gerard & Amy Joannes-Owners do not pay their vendors. You are putting other companies out of business because you do not pay your bills. Shame on you!
David Grainger: I buy local but the pumpkin pie for $28 was bot very good and overpriced. Don’t buy the pie.
Mustafa Arain: There is a reason they charge such extreme prices for pie, but despite what the reviews from friends & family say, it is not due to high quality ingredients. I have spent way more than $20 on pie in the pursuit of good pie. But by god this was not good pie. The reason they must charge so much for extremely nasty food & shoddy products is because it has no local support or following. Locals do not shop here. There business entirely survives off duping travelers heading down the highway. Those who cannot produce a quality product must rely on deceiving customers and milking them for everything they can because they know they won’t be back. Sadly such a shady business strategy is an economic necessity for people incapable of running a decent business. Duping is such a central part of their business model in fact, that you don’t even know the prices until they magic 8 ball an outrageous number at the register. Magic 8 ball is no exaggeration as well. Read the plethora of other reviews and you can see they pretty much pull different prices out of god knows where for each customer. From the catchy signs to the deception at every corner, this shop is no different than the many tourist scams you may see traveling abroad. It’s the street corner hustler peddling knock off sunglasses. Both scams in every sense of the word, this one just happens to be off route 2.
Adam Goldstein: I have never seen such a scam artist location in my life. $800 dollars for a lamp that was literally something you'd find in a target for $30. I genuinely thought these prices were a mistake when I first saw them. $200 for a coaster holder, $85 for a rosemary bush!? This is place is literal highway robbery as this location is just on the side of a highway and will needlessly steal your money. The only 5 star reviews are either paid reviews or they are friends of the owners because there is absolutely no way on this earth they are real.
Tea Toteva: Way too overpriced. Lovely outdoors garden items but the prices are not just high, they are absurd.
Daniel Drucker: Opened the (extremely expensive pie) ... and it was moldy.
Niklaus Schweizer: Well, how silly am I. I should have read the reviews. I got sucked in by the "Fresh Pie" sign. $18.00 for a pie that tasted worse than one from Dollartree. I didn't check out the plants, pots and other "merchandise".
Aubrey Duke: I wish I could give it more stars. This was the most delightful unexpected surprise stop. We came for the pie but left with so much more. Can't wait to return soon. You'll love it.
Carmelo Cortes: Very nice selection of flowers. Wife and I bought some blueberry pies and some banana bread, had it later. It was delicious
Lauren Hunt: Delicious pies and other baked goods, beautiful plants and spectacular decorative garden and interior home pieces!!
Jeffrey Haslett: The most expensive place i have ever stopped at. I got a kissing ball with no decorations on it 10 inch.$58 dollars. I will never stop there again!
Alannia S: The prices are waaay to expensive. The store is nice but it doesn't feel right buying here.
Paul Freedman: I stopped at Gerard's fresh pies on Sunday and was totally disappointing with the $17 Apple pie. It had about the same amount of filling as a Table Tok pie that probably cost about $2. TOTAL WASTE AND RIP-OFF
Dawn Corson: An absolutely lovely place to shop.
leah jacobs: DO NOT GET THE PIE! It’s hands down the worst worst pie I’ve ever had, and it was $28. The cinnamon in the blueberry pie was so overpowering that I couldn’t taste the blueberry. The crust is too thick and dry, but also gummy? Huge mistake.
Amit Gandhi: Do not trust the fresh pies sign of this store. If anything they were at the end of their shelf life. Skip this store if you want to buy fresh baked items. On the other hand if you like wasting $$$$ on overpriced and stale baked goods then this is your store.
Lizz Boettger: I love Gerard's . Everything is beautiful and the plants are the best anywhere. I live in Ct and will drive back.
