Dance Complex: what do users think?
Kyle Johnson: Not so hidden gem
Duckenson Castel: So much have changed here. Recently started taking classes and I love it. Bathroom are kept clean, it's super easy to take classes here. You do have to sign in with the instructors online or walk-in and pay in person. Would absolutely recommend you create an account on mind and body, follow the in-person schedule and go from there. Majority of the studios are very spacious as well. The staff is super awesome and amicable, which makes you want to keep coming back. And I love how they started incorporating mindfulness practices before/during majority of the classes. And a wide variety of dance genres and cultures.Overall great experience, love this place.
Phil Cohen: Dance Complex is awesome. Try capoeira
Kirsten Williams: Positive:Professionalism,Quality
Sarah B - she her: Positive:Communication,QualityWelcoming, inclusive dance studio in the heart of Cambridge. Instructors are qualified, skillful dancers and encouraging teachers. I always feel safe to push past my comfort zone here.
Gustave Laflare: Critical:ProfessionalismThis place is stealing people’s money and refuse to refund your money. AVOID GOING THERE!
Lisa Fusaro: Amazing so much fun. Natalie was awesome. Thank you so much
Londyn Korol: Reminds one of stereotypical, old fashioned dance studios with winding wooden stairs and exposed brick. Lovely building. A couple weird spots in the Studio 3 floor but nothing crazy. Easy to find, bike rack out front, lots of street parking.
brian cooper: Positive:Communication,Professionalism
Shanelle S: Three-floored community with a variety of dance classes. Came here on a Saturday for an impromptu Samba dance class at 1:30pm. It’s just one stop away on the red line from Harvard, so it’s a convenient option for students. It’s $15 for the samba class, but they’ll take cash and credit card. There’s a Santander right across the street if you need an ATM, since some of the classes are cash only. Note for Bank of America cardholders, there is a $3 ATM fee. There is a gender neutral bathroom availableThe 1:30-3pm Samba class was super fun. It was my first time doing Samba, but the teacher was super energetic and there are plenty of other beginners so you don’t have to feel awkward. You can put your stuff on the right hand side along the wall, and there’s plenty of mirror space so you can watch yourself shake it. There were people of all ages and it was good vibes all around. It started with a warm up and then payment, and then the actual Samba class. There was even a live band that played while we danced. At the end, there was a dance circle and everyone left sweaty but happy. The dance center overall is a cool spot and you can try out a number of different dance styles and classes no matter what age you are. I noticed on the bulletin board they have kid classes as well.
Tonya Lockwood: “ Afro Flow yoga is lit.” Andrew, 11 years old.
Rocephin W: The staff was very friendly.
Rohan Patel: Great location but not really great from inside.Good:1) the location. Right into Central square connecting to bus and train.2) price and classes: thrle salsa class I got deal on Groupon had 50% off and the instructor is super amazing.Bad:1. The entire building is super old. Not enough space for crowd waiting for next class, the bathrooms smells worse than public restrooms. And changing rooms are joined with those smelly toilets.2. Noise: People out from other classes are totally inconsiderate of other classes going and make so much noise that almost impossible to listen to your instructor. Sadly management doesn't care about it3. Building quality: building is not meant for dance classes as the windows shake due to dancea going on a floor above you and the noise of footsteps are completely distracting. Will I consider going for a class next time?Yes. If I get 50% off deal then I will.No. If I am paying good amount of money for the classes.
Mahala Burn: I find that the Dance Complex feels like the local community centers of my childhood- a bit ramshackle, but very functional for its purpose and full of friendly people of all ages, shapes, and backgrounds. It serves in a way an Equinox would never want to. Over the years, I've taken Haitian, West African, Nia, and Modern here and felt I was in a safe and supportive environment to move and express myself. The instructors are widely varied yet consistently skilled and inclusive, and for most classes there is great flexibility for dropping in when you are able given challenging work or personal schedule demands. I would definitely recommend if you feel you are lacking in community and/or need to find a place to move without judgement.
T: Amazing...full of culture good people and fun
Jenna Sunshine: The Dance Complex is great! They're a nonprofit organization that's really into keeping performing arts alive. It's a big place with a great vibe. There's a very comfortable down to earth atmosphere, and although there are advanced dancers there, you can be brand new to dance, and/or be older or heavier and you WON'T feel awkward there. Most of the classes and students are beginner to intermediate. There's a huge variety of classes offered there & you can view the class schedule on their website. Most of the class rooms are rented out by the hour to various instructors or companies, so you'd most likely be paying the instructor or their assistant. I point this out because people frequently ask why they can't sign up online. So the instructor is renting the room, and the students are paying the instructor, NOT the Dance Complex. I suggest you look at their schedule online and if you see a class you're interested in, click through to the description and you'll see how to sign up and whether a class is drop-in or session based. If the class you're interested in is a drop in class, then don't worry about the logistics of signing up & paying in advance, just show up, bring cash with you, and the instructor or their aide will help you & get you all set up. If you have any interest in dance but you're nervous because you have no experience, then THIS is the place to go! If you are new to dance, don't worry, you won't walk into a scary environment with professional dancers everywhere looking at you; instead you'll see many beginners, and people of all different sizes, races, ages and no one there is judgemental. Dance on!
Pasqualino Ferralis: Excellent dance school of various genres, excellent teachers
Stephanie Ruiz: I don't hate it or like it i love it
Yi-Hsin Lin: Great place to learn dance. The atmosphere is very laid back. You just show up and pay the teacher directly. Sometimes the price is a little different than what's stated on the website though.Every teacher has been very friendly and supportive, even if it turns out their class isn't the right style/level for you. Classes seem to have regular crowds attending, so the class does progress over the course of the semester while remaining friendly to drop-ins. Highly recommended!
Peter Galvin: The nexus of dance in Boston/Cambridge. Love the classes and the dance community centered here. It's a gem of life in the city.
Adee C: Idk why someone said that the bathrooms small cuz it doesn't and is actually SUPER neat. Everyone is really nice and supportive. The classes are killers! Totally recommend~👍

StyleMe Dance Studio: what do users think?
J P: If you want to pay for the ‘tough-love’ KPop trainee experience and have a 10 second clip to post on social media, this is the place for you. However, I did not enjoy my first time experience at StyleMe(Malden location).I would not use ‘attention to details’ to describe the teaching style, what I saw was utter destain for imperfection from the instructor. Her facial expression, tone, body language and overall mannerism screamed condescension and lack of patience. There is no words of encouragement, but multiple cases of individual student being called out for doing something wrong. At the end of the class, the instructor separated the class into groups and called her mother into the studio to film each group performing the choreography. When my group showed reluctance to go in front of the studio to be filmed, she lost her cool and hustled us to go to the front and dance for her video. She did not ask for consent to film, but we did not say anything about not wanting to be filmed either, so I guess that was on us.I have been to a similar class at another studio where the front row students clearly go to the class often and practice the choreography outside of class time. Despite of the similarity in class format and mixture of students’ levels, there was never a moment that I felt unwelcome at that class.I understand that there are many instructors teaching at StyleMe, and this one might be an exception(Saturday, Intro Level Jazz Funk class at Malden, not gonna call the instructor out here, but you can work out the finer details). Why offer drop in options when the instructor is clearly gatekeeping. Do not treat new students both as a revenue generating machine and an inconvenience. If an audition is required prior to attending the class, please state such prerequisite in the class description.
Irene Cocco: I have 2 teenager kids who started attending StyleMe studio since last month. They love the kpop class and it makes my heart happy to see them do something they really enjoy! 🙂
Marshall Tsien: when a studio owner would write multiple paragraphs stating their group lesson policy , probably not very customer friendly IMHO
Jane Yoon: Honestly really disappointed by the class I took at this studio. First, it's really overpriced ($28) for classes that aren't taught by trained instructors (at least the instructor I had obviously wasn't trained in hip-hop). I went alone because I don't have friends who dance hip-hop and no one spoke to me because they were all speaking Mandarin with each other. Super unwelcoming and I left in a terrible mood. If you're looking for a super casual college-student vibe and have friends to go with, this is probably your thing. If you're more trained and serious about dance, I'd suggest looking elsewhere--StyleMe just isn't worth the money.
Jane Wang: Positive:Communication,ProfessionalismVery professional, communicative, and patient teachers and staff. Highly recommend Mia who has been responsible, committed to dancing and teaching.
Jono DiStefano: Positive:QualityLooks like the best dance studio of all time and to hve lots of fun
Ruiying Zhu: Teachers are super awesome! I enjoy dancing here! I have more fun learning than Ashley 😃
Ashley Liang: Have fun learning!
Elle Lee: The experience is disappointing … the class available on the level is overcrowded and much less than the website listed. while they kind of encourage me to buy a larger package and turn out to be a waste of money …communication is frustrating overall. I wouldn’t recommend this studio
coco fineryy: Everyone here is so niceee & I love the MV projects that they have, all the instructors are great dancers my favorites are Aaliyah & Isha !!! Definitely come here if your thinking about it 3
Jie Finch: I've been taking classes here for a while now and they're super fun!!!I started out with buying an individual class two times and then I realized I could really see myself coming more often, so I got an 8 class pass. Honestly, it was a great idea. It motivated me to put in the effort to go and at the end of every session I've been so happy I went! Most of my classes have been with Goushi, and he's super beginner friendly despite teaching dances that aren't simple. Everyone who works or teaches here has been super kind and cool! Cute and clean little place to learn dances, whether you like K-pop or not =D (also the studio manager is so sweet! T__T)
Renee Del Bene: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueMoutwei was my children dance instructor he was amazing with them they learned so quickly and built so much confidence within themselves he had great patience and always had a positive attitude wouldn't of wanted anyone else.
Gigi Niu: Super nice and professional dance teachers! Each teacher has her/his own way of teaching, and they offer very detailed instructions. They are open to questions and try to let every student catches. They also record at the end of classes and share to students, so we can practice at home if we want. There are various class types, and my favorites are K-pops, Jazz funk and Chinese classic. They also offer different levels of classes, so even if I have never learned K-pop before, I can still find the classes that fit me. I think the prices are very reasonable and I even made some friends there. The manager is very friendly and very helpful for organizing, posting, and announcing upcoming classes and events. Students can also join their MV projects, which looks super cool! Me and my roommates enjoyed a lot and are planning to continue learn dances in Style Me!!! Definitely come and try!
Qingyi Zhu: Amazing dance club!! They offer different types of dance classes with flexible schedules. Instructors are nice and experienced! Beginner friendly:)
Ana St. Louis: awesome!!
阿莲球Jen: Professional and friendly instructors. I registered for the private classes three months ago, Isha is a hard work who build up the confidence for dancing. The manager is also kind and supportive. The studio has all the types of dancers, especially kpop.I wish I could know this place earlier. 整个团队的老师都非常认真负责,讲解非常细致,包括身体力度收放和转换,同时还有好多种类的舞可以让我选择包括kpop, kpop人kpop魂hhhh,让我这种0基础学员也对舞蹈燃起热情了。
Gunnar Horve: StyleMe is a great dance studio!I've tried out several of their classes and have gone home feeling happy about learning a new dance each time.Classes are mostly drop-in, so you can show up whenever you want, without having to worry about being behind other students/not knowing how to do a dance already. There are a bunch of dance styles/instructors you can drop in for--I've had great experiences with k-pop and hip-hop.Strong recommend! 10/10
David Hao: Positive:Communication,Quality,ValueI've been taking classes here for almost 2 months now and I've loved every one of them! Goushi is a really great instructor and the staff as a whole is very welcoming, which is especially great if you're a beginner!
Ruoqiao Chang: Great place with a very high level of professionalism and very high quality of teaching for learners. I have been learning in the studio for more than one year. I am very impressed with the studio and am very happy to dance with the instructors. They have different types of dancing including Kpop, Jazz funk, Latin, etc. Great place, great staff, great experience for me!
Nina Xu: Great classes, good teachers, and nice friendly staff! Highly recommend for Kpop lovers :)
Miriam Kim: I absolutely love StyleMe and all of the instructors here including Moutwei and Ricka! Jieru is also extremely friendly and reaches out to us about special mv projects/classes we may be interested in on a regular basis. This dance studio has brought me so much joy ever since I started and has further deepened my interest in dancing and filming covers! It's really great to be a part of this community where I have the freedom to express myself and share the same interests with others. I've also made many friends here since I started attending a year ago and made many special memories dancing together. Highly recommend for dancers of all levels!!!

Q Ballroom: what do users think?
R M H: I watched the hosts and admissions people be stunningly rude, insulting, and snobbishly unprofessional to several guests. If you just want to have fun and learn this might not be the place for you.
Adrian Obleton: My wife and I had a wonderful experience taking a private ballroom dance lesson at this studio. It was our first time trying any kind of ballroom dance, and our instructor Stas was fantastic. He patiently taught us the basic steps for Salsa, Rumba, and Foxtrot, and we had a lot of fun in the process. We're already thinking about coming back for more lessons. Highly recommend this studio and Stas as an instructor!
Glenn Webber: Fun dancing
Meghan Lynch: I have taken a handful of ballroom dances lessons in Massachusetts and other spots around the USA, and Q Ballroom is hands down the absolute best. Every staff member is wonderful and the instructors are equally passionate and insanely talented. This is your best option for a ballroom studio if you are looking to take classes just for fun, to become a competitive ballroom dancer, or to learn some basic skills for your wedding first dance. If you are about to get married you have the option of taking a private lesson or participating in one of their wedding workshops! I absolutely love Stas's teaching style and Q Ballroom's tiered level system so you can keep improving & taking classes in a group setting with all new steps. I have completed Level 5 & Level 6 so far and plan to be back again as soon as my musical theatre show season finishes up or aligns with the class schedule. Q Ballroom is the best of the best and I can't recommend them enough!
Monire Jalili: Great place to fall back in love with dancing.
Harrison James (Htrom): Boston Swing Central is awesome! Thank you for running these events!!
Daniel Peralta: Me encanta este lugar para prácticas de tango
Kris C.: Despite the crowded location, Q Ballroom was a great studio for my fiancee and I to take private lessons for our upcoming wedding. We worked with Helle who was super helpful and friendly. In 5 lessons we felt prepared! But all of the instructors we encountered oozed experience and professionalism. The interior is nice and clean, although during peak hours you might need to share the floor with several others as there is only a single but large space for dancing. Price wise they are comparable to other studios we looked at in the area.I highly recommend Q Ballroom and will likely return for more lessons in the future!

Miss Maria's School of Dance: what do users think?
Bojana Cemazar: I wish there was a 0 stars. Totally unprofessional!PS - your assumptions where I was that hour are truly funny.
Toni Harvey: Miss Maria is awesome. All of the dance teachers are great with children and create a enthusiastic learning and fun environment for all dance styles.
kwanwoo choi: Good.
Chad Palmer CRISIS: Very patient with kids 🐥
Chenyao Xia: My daughter is in Miss Natasha's toddler class. She loves her dance school and had a lot of fun. High recommended !
Dean Lorenzo Tartaglia (DeanLorenzo888): With tremendous hope, we are coming together as a family, again
PETER SCLAVO: I have known Maria, for a number of years & she has always been passionate about her studio! Keep up the great work!!
Candice Cruz Dintino: We LOVE Miss Maria's dance studio! She is very professional, passionate, and loves her job. Our daughter thoroughly enjoys dance class and has learned so much with Maria's guidance over the past year. The recital at the end of the year is such a fantastic display of all of the hard work that both the teachers and students put in throughout the year.
Lorenzo Z-Sensei: Miss Maria has basically been dancing most all her life. She is an expert in tap, jazz and ballet. Having grown up in a true classical Italian family. The Italian nation, is where Classical Prima Ballet evolved to its highest form of expression,.Perhaps, basically biased, because I am her older brother, and have officially trained and studied in the ultimate classical martial arts since 1978. Under the direct tutelage of the leading teachers across the US.Nevertheless it's the truth. With greatest love, Lorenzo Z Tartaglia
David Meshoulam: Great place for kids to learn and enjoy lots of dance styles. Just the right balance of fun and learning. The studio includes a personal training facility for adults.

Moves & Vibes Dancing Academy: what do users think?
Emily Paron: Best dance studio in Massachusetts. I have learned so much dance styles and have not only gained friends- but people whom I can call my family. A great, upbeat and friendly environment that demonstrates a safe space to learn and grow , whether you're starting out as a beginner or intermediate. There's always something new to learn. 10/10 recommend!
Linda Pettway: The dance center overall is a cool spot and you can try out a number of different dance styles and classes no matter what age you are
Zaya Amgaabaatar: Very friendly staff!
Jeff Connor: Inna was our dance instructor for our first dance at our July wedding. Truth be told, my (the husband) dancing experience was no more than moving to the beat (and not spilling my beer) at college and house parties (my wife has been dancing well for years). Inna was patient, funny, and got me into a position where I felt comfortable (and couldn’t wait) for the first dance. We enjoyed our first dance and it went by smoothly. We recommend her to anyone (especially those with two left feet!!)
Brian Cox: Inna is amazing! My fiancé and I booked a private lesson with Inna to prepare for our wedding. She was quick to respond and flexible in booking. The lesson itself was exactly what we were looking for. Neither of us are dancers so we weren’t looking for anything too complicated. Inna taught us simple, but elegant steps that look good and are in our skill level. She made us feel comfortable and confident to do the dance for our big day. Inna was patient and kind and I’d highly recommend her!
Allan Baumer: Went here to learn how to dance for my wedding. I think we grew a lot. I had just about zero experience going into it, but after a few lessons we got the movements down.
Masha Amelina: Best sensual dance school in Boston hands down! Classes are so much fun and teachers are awesome!
HKF Construction: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality
Daniel Mirabito: Positive:Professionalism
Monica Andrade: We were recommended by a friend who recently got married and had Inna as their dance instructor and she was great. Very patient. AJ and I have no clue how to dance and she made it seem like we knew what we were doing! Everyone was shocked it only took us five weeks to learn our dance. I would definitely recommend Inna to anyone getting married and looking for dance lessons!
Carlos Sales: Show de bola...o salão de dança com o professor Carlos. A comida precisa melhorar...mas isso é responsabilidade do clube.

Su Dong: Never thought my daughter would enjoy dancing this much. Thank you so much Peter for your patience and encouragement. Nothing like seeing a child with so much joy on the dance floor. Also the group dance class are lots of fun what a great way to make friends and kick off some calories. If you looking to become a pro you are off for a great start 👍
Thomas Martin: Friendly owners, nice practice space.
Paskan D: Like this studio a lot of good coaches and people
Janessa Dooley: The owner is very nice surprisingly i talked to him over the phone and i was wrong i bet that the money you pay is worth it i cant wait to have my daughter go to this school
Jaybabyboom Dooley: I called for ballet classes they only offer private classes and its expansive
Siddhartha Chowdhury: Great school and great teachers. Peter and Dakota rock it.

Boston Swing Central: what do users think?
R M H: If you want to have fun and learn swing dancing this organization is absolutely insulting, rude, and dismissively elitist. Unwelcoming and unprofessional. Go anywhere else.
Harrison James (Htrom): So awesome! Great people that are super welcoming to newcomers. Thanks for hosting these events!
Sydney Cooney: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueGreatest swing dance place in Boston! Usually have live music, always an easy beginners lesson, and always lots of great people to dance with. Absolutely must check out!
Shannon Johnston: Ran into this group at NPS Naval Yard preparing for 8/10 celebration honoring those who kept the home fire burning. They are amazing teachers with care for all. Highly recommend.
King Car: Nice professional dancers
Andrew Selzer: Boston Swing Central is a great place whether you are an experienced swing dancer or taking lessons for the first time. For dancers who are new they have drop in lessons that are included with the cover charge that give you an introductory crash course on how to swing dance. In addition they have designed people with colored handkerchiefs called "Angels" and their job when the social dancing part of the evening starts is to dance with and be welcoming to new dancers. The majority of the time they have a live band every Friday, for the nights without a band they usually have qualified DJs who will spin fun tunes to dance with. Highly recommend you check this place out!
Kayla Dreyfuss: For someone newly joining the Boston Swing Dance community, BSC is an ideal place to start. This incredibly welcoming and friendly organization has gone out of their way to make Swing Dancing approachable for new people. Their "Angels" are experienced dancers who volunteer to dance with brand new folks for the first hour of the dance - no partner needed! The entry seems expensive at first glance - about $15 for the night. But when you realize that this includes an hour lesson, and about 4 hours of dancing to live music it doesn't seem so bad!The format of the lesson is extremely approachable - they start with the very basic of basics and within an hour you will work your way up from just finding the beat with your body to doing fancy turns! By the end of the night we had an arsenal of enough moves to last the whole night. Plus, you rotate partners throughout the lesson, so even if you didn't come with someone you still get to meet people to dance with for the rest of the night.Once the lesson is over, they turn down the big lights, and the room transforms into a sparkling dance hall filled with fantastic live music, and an evocative energy! It's hard not to dance!I can't recommend this welcoming scene highly enough.
Roya K: Well it was too crowded and it was hard to see what really goes on.I did not the way they teach too,I have been to other classes too which they have more trainer and they divide people according to their level for teaching the lessons!here it was a mix of old and young beginner and professional!rotating and changing the partner might be the rule of dance classes but it was overwhelmed for me and my husband,we really got tiered and we learned less than what we were hoping to.
Hsiu Chang: This dance studio is started by dancer for dancer. For the longest time swing dances were placed at bars in a church, which means it has to adjust to other's schedule. Furthermore, most dancers do not drink much, if you are jumping around all night you tend to drink water rather than alcohol. For that reason most swing dance do not bring enough revenue for the bar. If you are looking for a big open space to rent or dance to live band / DJ on a Friday night, this is the place.

Rumba Y Timbal Dance Company: what do users think?
Víctor CE: Awesome dance studio. I have been dancing bachata here for over a year now and I couldn’t be happier with my progress. Shout out to the great instructors!
Santiago Quintana: It's an amazing place with incredible coaches and a enjoyable vibe. Great for all levels.
Roda Haway: My wife and I were looking for a Dance studio so we can learn how to Dance Salsa and we were so happy we found Rumba Y Timbal Dance Company .We were welcomed to a great dance family and community . The instructors Roberto , Liliana and Carlos were so supportive and we new this was the place we felt at home . We fell in love with classes we were driving to Cambridge four times a week from the suburbs . Now how salsa and bachata is taken to a great level .We recommend this amazing Dance studio to anyone wanting to learn Salsa in an amazing environmentThank You Rumba Y Timbal Dance Company !!
Perry Wasserbauer: Great teachers, great community of people. They have classes for Salsa and Bachata
Flor Orosz Hunziker: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueThis is a great community of caring, excellent and dedicated professionals!
Pierre Jockers: One of the best salsa/bachata schools in the country. Very far above anything else in the Boston and Cambridge area (I have done them all).Great instructors, strong emphasis on technicals, presence of curriculum for every class, flexibility of schedule (classes twice a week) all make progression very fast. Most people who joined got a good level after ~6 months. Also good leader/follower ratio (~50/50 for pretty much all classes - not the case in many other schools, where there are traditionally more leaders, which means leaders learn much less). Also a great community - I feel I have always been treated as a student or a friend, never as a customer.
sushrut palatkar: I started learning salsa with them 2 years ago and have'nt stopped since. I used to dislike dancing before that. The instructors are helpful and the student community is amazing.
Edana Martin: It is great
Derek Clifford: This is a great studio. The hall is clean, well lit and has a great sound system. All the teachers are very good and are amazing dancers who inspire. There is a great atmosphere at Rumba Y Timbal!
Janice - Jaycee McCullough: Always wanted to learn Salsa and 6 months ago my son agreed to be my dance partner (yes, I bribed him), so we signed up with Rumba Y Timbal for the beginner class. We absolutely loved it. After just two months of lessons I was dancing at socials with confidence. Due to my son getting a new job and he had to stop, I lost a dance partner but no biggie for there is always someone to dance with at Rumba Y Timbal and the staff is awesome. If you're not getting a specific move they are there to practice with you after or before class. If you want to learn salsa and you want to feel confident in social settings Rumba Y Timbal is the place to be.
Mei-Chen Liao: I have done zumba for three years. I felt that the workout is good but always wanted to get more dance part. Then I started to join in Rumbatimbal for beginner classes. The main director-Roberto was so passionate and the other dancers are all very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere there is fun and happy. Later, I was eager to learn more sophisticated parts such as lady’s styling or lady’s choreography. Recently I just join the student performance team. I am so excited that I improve so much in short period of time and can’t wait to get on stage in the future.
