Cambridge Medical Supply: what do users think?
Christina Heraiki: Everyone is always courteous and Tim goes above and beyond his job. I had to get prescription formula for both my kids and am glad I have used/am using them. I recommended them to my friend and they are relieved to have a reliable supplier for their prescription formula as well! I know everyone is overwhelmed right now with the formula shortage, but it has not affected their customer service by any means!
Yelena Genkina: Rude, incompetent staff. Incorrectly ordered my post surgery compression stockings two times. They forgot to reorder on time. Had to call them multiple times. Will never use this company again.Even one star is way too many.
Amy: Called to ask questions and the person I spoke to was super rude. So unprofessional.
Jamie Mahnken: My infant gets his formula through CMS due to his severe allergies. There is no over-the-counter formula he can use that does not make him incredibly sick. I've found CMS to be easy to work with and very responsive. I always have the formula I need delivered on time. CMS went out of their way to overnight me a can of formula when we ran low (at no cost to me) so that my son would have enough to eat ahead of the regular shipment. Refills are quick and easy over the phone. I would recommend CMS to others.
Joe Travers: Delivery mistakes and poor customer service is the only consistency I’ve experienced so far with CMS.We have ordered formula through CMS for the last 4 months. We have had bad experience after bad experience (both customer service and delivery service). One of the orders came in 3 different shipments over the course of 4 weeks! (one can here, 2 cans there). They claimed back order issues. That’s fine except they never called to explain the situation. I had to call multiple times to understand what was going on. Another time they sent me the wrong formula and when I called they claimed it was a shipping department mistake. Again, mistakes happen - ok. However, they never apologized - ever. And then they said they would send someone to switch it out at the beginning of the next week. I had to call them at the end of that next week to inquire about the situation. Again, she never apologized but instead said they would send someone out that day to switch the formula out.Every time I spoke with Megan at CMS she would provide me an estimated time to receive the order (or mistake picked up), and every time they would miss their estimate by several days (or even weeks!) and I would have to follow up to get another estimated time. It’s hard to plan formula orders when they are so inconsistent with their timelines and have such poor communication skills.
christi gorelli: There are multiple suppliers for breast pumps through insurance -- don't use CMS. Know that they won't help you if there are issues with your order. First, my pump was back ordered so took almost a week to ship. They sent me the wrong pump (said I specified that one based on handwritten notes.) Pump ended up being defective (had scratches on the case and tear in rubber casing where the tubes connected.) CMS refused to exchange it because I opened the box -- how would I know anything was wrong otherwise? -- and told me to call the manufacturer. None of which gets me the pump that I originally wanted and added a lot of stress for a new mom. Also, they charge $10 for shipping which the other pump suppliers DO NOT. I ordered from them thinking that going local was better -- but wish I had just ordered from an out of town supplier that may have actually helped me.Buyer beware.
Alexa H: I have had only good experiences here. Very responsive staff and quick service
Jeffrey Driban: We dealt with them for a breast pump and for over 6months with baby formula and they were amazing and very helpful.
Elizabeth Noonan: I just called and spoke to someone who had no idea what they were talking about. When you need to rent a breast pump - someone should know a thing or two about them!!! Super frustrating.
Uho Muho: Beginning was very nice - they immediately provided the device, promised to deal with insurance etc. But... In a month we received a bill for the part that insurance did not pay. The bill contained services that we never ordered. Tried to communicate with them - attitude dramatically changed: "we do not care, it's your problem, deal with your insurance". We obviously contacted our insurance as well. The insurance checked the situation and announced that it will deal with that people as "services" that Cambridge Medical Supply is trying to bill for are not allowed from the first place (i.e. not compatible with the device). So, you may want to think about that. And, by the way, check their BBB rating.

Belmont Medical Supply Co: what do users think?
Fredda McDonnell: In the past they’ve been very helpful with canes and the bottom of canes. Today I was going to buy two items that amount to over $125 but have to be measured exactly because they’re not returnable if they didn’t work. The man on the phone was extremely rude to someone he clearly knew was temporarily sick and I could hear him say nasty things to his colleague about me. I will not buy from them, and would rather just not get the items at all or go through Amazon. Rude is not acceptable when someone is sick.
Lisa Beth Koufman: I think it is important to support small businesses. I knew that Belmont Medical Supply has been in business a very long time and thought that it would be a good place to look for my medical supply needs for my upcoming hip replacement operation. I learned that it has been a family business since 1936. First starting out as a pharmacy and then adding medical supplies to its business in the mid-50’s and then at some point just concentrating on medical supplies. That is about 75 years of medical supply knowledge, and you can’t get that on the internet! I initially was helped by the owner Bob Rosen, and he listened attentively to my concerns, answered all my questions, and then made thoughtful suggestions. My needs were concentrated on gadgets and things that would come in handy and make me more comfortable after surgery. Bob’s wealth of information and patience was very much appreciated. He focused on my medical needs and did not try to upsell me, only suggesting what he thought would be very useful to me. And Bob was right! I had a wonderful first experience at Belmont Medical Supply. It was very much worth the investment in time to go there because what they know isn’t something you can readily learn online and the personal help I got was priceless! In short, I was very happy with my experience and recommend Belmont Medical Supply highly and without reservation.
scott preston: I rented a wheelchair for my mother who was visiting town. The process was easy, friendly service, quality wheelchair and easy return. Would use again. Thank you.
Walter van Dusen: Had a great experience selecting and purchasing some lumbar support items. Bob was very helpful. Highly recommend.
Steven Lappen: I have always found the staff knowledgeable and accommodating. Today when I purchased compression socks, the gentleman provided a detailed tutorial and was pleasant throughout. I remain bewildered by some of these negative reviews. I remain a happy customer.
Edward Kamens: We have been a customer for ten years. The team at Belmont Medical Supply has always been friendly, helpful and very reliable. The cost to purchase a new wheelchair might be slightly more expensive but theyare available for repairs on site which is absolutely more convenient thenworking with an internet retailer.
donna janis: I've been a frequent customer of Belmont Medical Supply for over 20 years. My mother lived to the age of 99 and I bought many items for her, including two rollators in two different years. For those, I priced them online before going to the store where I found Belmont Medical's prices were the same or better. Plus, I got to personally test their large rollator assortment to assess which would be easiest for my mother to operate. Right up until she passed this year, Mom referred to her burgundy-color 4-wheel rollator as "my Cadillac". I was back to buy a wheelchair, not to mention crutches, canes (for me), compression socks, bed pan, etc. etc. The staff is supremely helpful and knowledgeable--always. They steered me in the right direction when I was trying to choose among their various blood pressure cuffs. The store is packed with items, but don't hesitate to ask for options. When I was looking at a display toilet seat stand with arm supports which help a handicapped person sit and stand up, I mentioned the relative was a large man and they asked me to wait while they brought a heavy-duty stand upstairs for me to see which turned out to be the perfect option. During covid-19 they have been well stocked with masks, gloves, sanitizer, cleaners etc. so I'm visiting more than ever.
Tupi Media Group: My employee took 2 electric wheelchairs for repair, they told him that one of them would cost $300 for repair and the other one wasn't worth repairing. So I came over today to pick them up, the people are very unpleasant, the wheelchair repair went up to $350 without even contacting the guy before, and guess what? They told us that the other wheelchair was tossed away because it was "unrepairable" ! Really? How do you do such thing without notifying the owner? They really took advantage of the guy because he couldn't speak English well, it's sad to have businesses acting this way.
Katerina Kokoros: I’m really happy that Belmont Medical Supply is not far from where I live and that they were open during the Covid. 3 months ago one of my brothers called for a wheelchair for a family member and they were really helpful of putting everything together in one day including medical supplies. I went back more than once since their prices are better than online and no waiting & no S/H. The only thing I wished they were also open on Saturday other than that so far I’m happy with them.
Kovez: Amazing over the phone they had great attitudes with me I don’t know why everyone says they don’t and also their products are amazing
Simon Bunyard: My son purchased a wheelchair from them for my wife several months ago. He's a pretty laid back and friendly kid, but he came home just ranting about how awful the staff were. He said they were bickering among themselves the whole time he was in the store. Gave him the distinct impression he was an inconvenience to them. The wheelchair was fine, but didn't work for my wife, so I returned it a few days later. Got a full refund, and an indifferent shrug from the sales man who handled it. Not a friendly place. Zero stars for attitude, two stars for a no hassle, if indifferent return. The staff are going to kill this store.
Donna Hourihan: I stopped in to see if I could find a bag for the side of a wheelchair. I have ordered many over the years. Nothing was right. The salesman (sorry I didn't get his name.) Looked around the store and magazines. Finally found a small bag I am pretty sure will work. Thank you
Brian SMITH: Just on website and happen to read review's. I'm a quadriplegic and have had a dozen phone and in store purchases. I find staff extremely accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly, if they don't have the service or product I need they help Me or my Son find it.Brian SmithArlington
Steve Tintle: I have to say I was quiet surprised to read some of the reviews I did. My wife and I have visited, bought and asked for help in repair of equipment. On each of our visits to Belmont Medical the staff, including its owners couldn't have spent more of their time with us and been more helpful with great advice and very very low cost repairs!!! We couldn't be happier with The help we've received. Our review, in my opinion accurately summarizes this small business and it's helpful staff. Thank you from both of us got your time and help.
Linda Smith, RN, CMC: consistently unknowledgeable, unprofessional, unfriendly old time staff. I am a professional geriatric advisor to families and am always pleasant.
James Dana: I have used Belmont Medical Supply for several purchases and several repairs. I have consistently had very positive experiences, particularly with repairs. The repairs have been for wheelchairs and scooters that I bought their and ones that I bought elsewhere. Everyone their is friendly, caring and knowledgeable although my purchase decisions are also based on the salesperson, my doctor, and the reading I have done before I go in. When they don't have what I need they are always willing to order.
Nancy Schuh: I live very close to this store, I have been disabled for over 20 years. I bought my first wheelchair/scooter from here. I found the owners (brothers I think) to be friendly and helpful. The son, on the other hand, is a different story. He was arrogant, not helpful, and he gave me the feeling that he was above working there. The final straw for me was when I brought my Pride chair back for repair. It would stop at times for no reason. When I went back to pick it up, it was in the exact same spot where I left it. The son said "it is all ready." He could not tell me what was wrong, and again seemed like I was wasting his time. Three days later on my way to a Red Sox game it stopped dead on Commonweath Ave as I was crossing the street. I was very lucky as it was rush hour. That was the last straw. I now use a wonderful store in Marlbourgh despite living 5 minutes from BMS!
John Tambascio: Talk about misery, worst phone attitudes ever. They have what I need but I Will wait for on line order. So miserable....
Elizabeth Bjorkman: They don't take insurance and aren't helpful with personal questions which arise. Next time I'll look for a different supplier of needed equipment.
Beth Perkins: I took my 86 year old Mom here to buy a power lift chair. The salesperson (not sure if he was owner) was uncaring, unhelpful. When we asked about differences between chairs he told us he did not know. One word answers to questions. We ended up purchasing a chair because my mother was very anxious to have one and it's hard for her to get out to go shopping. We paid $1200 for chair plus a delivery fee. When the chair was delivered, my Mom was alone and needed her old chair moved to fit the new one in. The delivery man refused. My mom (86 and very immobile) tried to move the old chair herself while the delivery man watched. No help. She called the store - no help. She cancelled the sale. Why shop local? I'm getting on Amazon to get the best price and will hire someone to get it installed. Do not go here expecting helpful service from a local merchant
Cynthia Cox (Cyn): Has all the medical supplies you need but a bit on the pricey side.
