REI: what do users think?
Gabriella Zoia: DO NOT GET YOUR SKIS TUNED HERE. Did a horrible job and left deep gashes after hand scraping them. Take your business elsewhere. When I came back to report it I was told that I was essentially making it up and that the other shop that checked them out was just trying to sell us a new pair of skis. We were given 100 gift card at REI… small consolation when they’ve ruined a 1200 pair of skis. I’ve never been treated so poorly by retail staff.
Kira Clingen: This place needs more staff and better training, especially in their bike department. Came in with a flat tire - they replaced it, it went flat the next day. Went back, they replaced it again, it went flat. Took it to another bike shop - there was a massive shard of glass in the rim that they didn’t find either time. Out $30 and multiple hours.
Elisabeth Graham: The staff at REI Cambridge is so helpful and kind. I ordered the wrong shoes and they assisted with an easy exchange, communicating what they had in stock and what they didn’t. I’m so grateful to have this neighborhood store close by.
Steven Zelek: Service is good, but please be aware that this store mostly stocks: clothing, bike gear, climbing gear, and a small selection of accessories. It's a small store - so just have the right expectation.
Samantha Kanach: Love this REI! The people who work are so wonderful. I had to bring my bike in for maintenance and Nicoletta was so attentive and friendly and got my bike in tip top shape in no time. This REI is right next to some great local coffee shops and breweries so you really can’t go wrong here
Nancy Ramsdell: Always top quality and helpful personnel.
ambassador smudge: nice place to get some gear.Since 1938, we have been your local outdoor co-op, working to help you experience the transformational power of nature. We bring you top-quality gear and apparel, expert advice, rental equipment, inspiring stories of life outside and outdoor experiences to enjoy alone or share with your friends and family. And because we have no shareholders, with every purchase you make with REI, you are choosing to steward the outdoors, support sustainable business and help the fight for life outside.
Sam Berry: Had a great experience buying climbing shoes and a harness here. Not a huge location so might not have the selection of some larger stores but everyone was super friendly and it had what I was looking for
Lisa: Small store but very pretty inside, like a boutique. But they signed me up for a membership without asking! They were not super knowledgeable.
Emily Heckel: This is a (beautifully designed) T-shirt and water bottle store. I wouldn't really call it an REI. Came in looking for liner gloves and trekking pole baskets and they don't stock either. In fact, they barely stock any gear at all, and this is on purpose. They do have a few cycling items I think, and a comically tiny climbing section that I have to assume is only there for aesthetic purposes. The target demographic seems to exclusively be cyclists and people who wear overpriced Patagonia to brunch. The staff were super nice and they were knowledgeable about the items I was looking for (just didn't have them). They seemed quite used to responding to customers' confusion about the store. I think they should rename the store, or make it more clear online that this isn't a true REI as most of us know it. Overall, it felt a bit like being in a gallery - they display (limited) gear in an attractive way, but they intentionally don't stock it. Seems very focused on the aesthetic over the practical, which clashes with the brand concept. I can't think of a reason why someone would go to this store on purpose. I ended up driving to Reading and finding everything I needed, and I guess I'll be doing that moving forward. It's unfortunate, I live in Cambridge and I would shop here all the time if it was a real store and not a display window.
Mike Alexandersen: Google shows this as "camping store", but when i went in there, they said "this location doesn't have a camping department; were actually the smallest store in the coop." Sigh, pointless.
Amit Bergman: Nice and knowledgeable employees
Jeffrey Alperovich: This is not your typical REI! It’s a solid REI shop and had some great sale items, but the selection of everything is limited just due to the nature of the store size/location. Still recommend REI to all just set expectations accordingly! Staff were friendly and helpful as always
Christian Torres: Excelente servicio. La atención fue bastante buena. La chica que me atendió, me dio una buena asesoría. Lo recomiendo mucho.
Carrie Cole: Fantastic store! Beautiful, big, nice layout, very friendly and helpful staff. That area is really changing and that's a great addition.
Edson Lacerda (Ed): Customer service at this store in Cambridge MA,is TERRIBLE, I waited forever for someone, figured out on my own, went fitting 2 climbing helmets, then finally a guy came asking “did you take the tag out” harshly almost accusing me of doing it so, and just left. So did I 😞Very first time I’ve been treated so bad at REI store, this is the first and last time I come to this one!Meanwhile Framingham, which is my actual main store is AWESOME,It’s totally the opposite, doesn’t even look like it’s the same chain ☹️
Diot Sébastien: The store was good and the staff was helpful. However this store does not stock most of REI's merchandise and it's painfull to search on the website if they have my size for each shoes.I wanted to buy a very common pair of climbing shoes but I have to try differents size, they don't have any stock in 150 miles around ... My only way to go through is to order each shoes that I want to try : 199$ each ! (which is already very expansive).Big no for me.
Petal Niles: Had trouble with a gift card and staff was incredibly kind and patient in finding a solution! They also offered good advice on winter coats and had a small but nice selection of items on the floor
Swabarna Mukherjee: Customer Service. Love them. Went there to exchange an Arcteryx Shell which I bought last year but it was one size bigger than I wanted and have been thinking of getting one size smaller.Procrastinating for months, yeah I know, I finally made the trip only to find out it was just 3 days that 1 year passed. Damn I was sad however the manager honored it. They are excellent. Walked me through the steps and did whatever neededand they helped me put in an order. The site is new and parking is tough however the area is undergoing construction. Hoping to seethe area complete with all the construction done. Newer location nearer to my place and well they have a lifelong customer thanks to their excellent service.
Nicholas Manning: Does NOT stock camping gear, which REI is known for.
Richard Salmonsen: Really great staff! If they do not have what you need in stock they very nicely order it for you

Magazine Beach: what do users think?
Wynter Aiguier: Coming from Cambridge over the bridge to B.U.It's beautiful on both sides... But magazine Beach Park is beautiful
heidi tucker: I've driven by here many times but I've never been able to take the time to visit the park. It was niceties visit and ro learn about photography from the Mass Audubon Society.
Brian Chan: This park has a number of small nature refuge zones where you can observe wildlife, both large and small. I have seen hawks, swans, woodpeckers, and mockingbirds as well as numerous insects.I only wish the park management were not so aggressive in mowing down the vegetation that comprises these natural areas. Instead, they should address the lingering problem of the unsightly litter scattered around the park.
David Bernier: Playground: BusyRestrooms: CleanDog-friendliness: A1
larry L: Meh...skip it.Restrooms: Port-a-potti. 'nuff said. Good luck.
Junji Morokuma: But not sure what those men apparently doing nothing but standing around close from the facility. Creepy one to avoid.
Ronald Lang: They've cleaned it up! They also added a nice playground. Great place to visit on a summer night
Saren “Rennie” Hansen: Workout area needs a lot of maintenance.Use to be a good park but with the homeless problem the area can be a little sketchy towards nightfall.Playground: There is no playground hereRestrooms: No restroomDog-friendliness: Not supposed to have dogs here, but no one really caresPicnic area: There are some picnic tables
Margarita Camacho.: Es un lugar. Para relajarte. Y divertirte.
Hamsalatha Krishnan: Not much greenary due to drought :(
Cathryn Herbst: Could use a little clean up/trimming. Would love to have more views of the water from the paths!
Pacheco: Great peaceful place to work out
Montserrat Catalan: Un lugar fantastico para poder desconnectar de una jornada laboral
Arnetta Shepherd: It's close to home.
Cal B: Calestenics gym is great, and the group of people that go to that gym are the friendliest. Don't be afraid to ask if you think you need help!
Daniel Steven Janerico: Serenity ~ Peaceful Feeling ~ A Must Visit , Adults & Kiddo's
Ina Lee: Nice!
Michele Scalesse: A lot has changed since I played little league here. The have like a dock now where you can sit and chill. A workout Center that’s been there for decades now, still looks in good condition
Isaia Serrano: Just Gorgeous!!! Highly recommended!
Seyfaddin Huseynov: If you like working out with beautiful nature view
Jeremy Wise: you should come here if you wanna talk and take a walk.

Veterans Memorial Pool: what do users think?
Antonio Designer: What else can be said about a public pool on a HOT day
Rachel Black: Clean and lovely pool right on the Charles River! What more could you want?? I go every chance I can get!
Nantalina Spina: It's a really nice pool close by.🏖️🏖️🏖️
Laura S: Not a fan of the new bathrooms and lack of changing areas. They have new mens and womens bathrooms. Both are directly across from each other and so open you can see in each.No privacy whatsoever. Two bathroom stalls and two showers in each. The only changing area is in the same area as the two showers which are in direct view of the hall way and mens bathroom. Why would they do this? They did add a couple family bathrooms that are completely closed but I’m sorry that isn’t good enough. If you come here I suggest you come already changed in your swimsuit because they have no more privacy.
Shy love: Love it I go every summer every day ❤️
judith motzkin: Wish it stayed open for a longer season.
Dilini Ranatunga: AWESOME POOL! Can’t believe it’s free!
Ezequiel Zarate: Easy access.
James Rippy: It was a very nice hot day in the 90s but some child threw up in the pool and we had to leave.
Aj Thome: It was saying it was open but when I got there it was all closed
Sarmonica T. Jones: This a great pool that’s in a convenient location.
Eric Romaine: My family and I waited in line for an hour because it was too crowded and nobody was answering the phone, there was nobody at the desk, and the door was locked. Then I caught the door and talked to a kid at the front desk that said they weren't letting people in for another 2 hours, and he didn't even let anybody know. We decided to get out of line to leave, and while we were getting on our bikes, they let everyone in after all! After being in the pool for only 30 minutes, they told us to leave so more people could come in. I gave this 2 stars because the pool is nice but the service is terrible. They need to hire more competent people!
bethzaida otero: Clean and close to home
Zaida Otero: I've been going there for many many years with my children I love what they did with it now it's beautiful
Lucy Cruz: I always have fun with my grandkids
manzhosan: It is nice pool. Unfortunately to day is last day of 2019 season
Shirley Sosa: Well today was definitely a beautiful day and the pool wasn't crowded!
EL PULPO: Parking can be tricky, but I like it there
Yolanda Mercado Pomales: Clean water, they have a pool for kids and adults and one for babies. They have a shower room for female and one for guys.im having a great time .
Bert Baez: very good and clean
Katrin Vogt: Nice public pool, great to get refreshed in the summer heat! It is an outdoor swimming pool, not indoors!

AC Hotel by Marriott Boston Cambridge: what do users think?
Patrick W. van Deursen: This AC hotel is one of the first hotels in this price range that as a European has a nice interior and is not dated. The rooms are nice and and new. The only issue I have is with the beds, which are EXTREMELY soft. If started in a king size, and had serieus issue with my back the next day. Staff was friendly enough to put me in rooms with a queen sized bed, which was a lot better.Traffic to and from the hotel to Boston can we a bit busy at times, so take that info account for your commute
Gabi Friedman: Stayed here for a weekend with a group of friends. A/C was out in the room both nights, despite two trips up by maintenance staff who claimed to fix it. Desk staff were perfectly nice, but in suggesting we switch rooms did not offer to have our stuff moved for us or the pull-out made up. Pretty overpriced for the experience. Parking and breakfast are exorbitant and the T stop is not nearly as close as the website makes it seem and involves walking alongside a highway for 0.5 a mile.
Janie G: Charged me for parking when I never used the parking garage. Put me on hold 3 times before answering. When they finally answered, the representative and GM never called me back to resolve the garage fee dispute. I had to take it up Marriott to get the garage fee refunded. Very poor service especially given my titanium elite status.
Anton Krilloff: Night shift service can use some improvement. Trainee Kuazee is confused and needs better supervision. Trainees during the day shift need better training and supervision as well.
Victoria Kuhn: The difference between a good hotel and a great one are the amenities, including the staff. We went to the hotel bar last night for dinner, as we were tired from a strange and longer-than-usual-two-hour-drive-from-Portland. FOUR entrees on the menu. I ordered salmon, David the steak. Well, there was no salmon. So I ordered the the chix BLT sandwich as a Cesar salad (very nice bartender said they have a Cesar even though it wasn’t on the menu). Smallest of bowls crammed with the ingredients - dang the food kept falling off onto the table sigh and no tomatoes. Now my martini - hit the spot! David enjoyed his steak and the carrots were delish! The front desk gal with first name that began with S was very friendly. Room was clean though so modern, it was figuratively cold (not in temp). Wayfinding awful. Black room numbers on less black wall is not a good combo if you want guests to be able to read signs and mood lighting like an old bar throughout the hotel.I stay almost exclusively in Marriotts - and many of them a year. Good hotel but needs to work to be better, especially since my hotel room is supposedly a $1500 a night room, according to the inside of my door.
Melissa M: I stay here often. The staff have been awesome every time and I've yet to have any issues. This last round I was put in a room right next to the elevator (sharing a wall with the elevator lobby) and my room was still perfectly quiet. I could hear a bit if my upstairs neighbor was stomping around & the water was loud when they flushed their toilet, but nothing that impacted my ability to sleep, which is really all I care about in a hotel.Overall, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The bar has a nice menu and laid back vibe. Parking is expensive, but easy & includes free EV charging.Rooms: Clean, well appointed. My room had a white noise machine.
Caroline Anastasi: Clean and spacious room! There’s a garage next door and you can get parking validated. The hotel is right next to alewife station to get into the city, about a 8 min walk.
John Bantz: nice placeRooms: 4/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 3/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More
Matthew Gillis: Nice clean rooms. How ever the front desk lady was completely useless after my key stopped working
Allison Wilcox: I've stayed at this hotel twice in the past - Nov 2019 and Oct 2018. It's a very stylish hotel, modern and sleek design touches throughout, which I found very appealing. I stayed in rooms with a king size bed both times - they were comfortable and spacious, the bed was great to sleep on. The breakfast buffet is really good, and some cooked-to-order items are also available. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. The AC Hotel Cambridge is definitely on the top of my list for places to stay on future trips to Boston. The hotel location is about 3/10 mile walk to the Alewife T-stop, with the path there going through the Alewife Brook Reservation, a very pretty natural area. It makes for a nice walk to the T-stop or a nice area to spend a little time outside.
Kevin Allen: A great place to stay near the red line. Great service. Comfortable room. Had Laundry on the same floor, which is super nice if staying for a longer tripRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Omar Yousef: So far so bad. The most disgusting room i have ever seen. Room floor and tables were dirty (food and drinks remains), and i saw a nail on one of the tables. And the more i look around the room the more I discover that the room is disgusting. I don't recommend anyone to come here.Rooms: So far so bad. The most disgusting room i have ever seen.
