Megan O'Lena: I visited The Hourly with my son on our first trip to Boston. We had a reservation and we were seated right away even though it was a busy Friday night in the Square. It was a little loud, but every full restaurant is. Despite it being busy, we didn’t wait for anything, everything arrived timely and piping hot. I HIGHLY recommend the cocktails, as well as the hush puppies. Everyone from the efficient host, to our friendly waiter, to the red headed manager was a delight, and we will be returning on our next trip because the service was excellent. I would absolutely recommend a stop at this restaurant when you’re in Boston.

francesco marino: Eccellente sia come location (pieno centro di Boston), cibo e servizio. Decisamente molto caro ma una volta l'anno per festeggiare il proprio compleanno si può anche fare uno strappo!

Waypoint: what do users think?
Craig Minoff: $1 mussels and delicious pasta and cocktails!
Annaliese Heindel: he’s friend shaped (spicy wasp cocktail) bartender also let me borrow his charger, nice dude! (Bartender not the bear cup)
Hann Solo: Fun atmosphere. Open layout where you can see everything. Only qualm is that it was very, very loud and the foot of our two-person table took up the entire floor. We could not rest our feet flat the whole time and the table leg is totally in the way of our knees. I'm a small person and found the table space cramped and uncomfortable. Food was excellent, brussel sprouts, pasta, salmon. The drinks are also terrific, esp. the absinthe drinks. Service was 10/10. Will be returning for special nights again but at the bar seating.
Jordan Hartman-Wexler: Second time eating here, was an incredible experience both times. Fantastic for large groups, family style is perfect. Everything we had was incredible, oysters are super fresh and delicious. Our server was fabulous, super helpful and created a really nice vibe. Karla Plascencia: Very attentive staff!
Laura Patton: 0ur waiter,Arsin, was spectacular, we loved him. The food was delicious, especially the flatbread with the Rosemary butter!
Latoya Wilson: Amazing food and drinks. I had no complaints and I enjoyed the pasta.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Max P: Cocktails, pizza and pasta. A pretty solid combination on paper, and the execution was decent. Came as a group of four and ordered family style - we split two pizzas (the mushroom was great but the clam one was somewhat bland), and pastas. I did quite like the uni bucatini, but then didn’t think much of the dessert menu either.
Geronimo Colon: Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Michael Toensmann: Very lively place, great atmosphere. The steaks were unbelievable excellent.
Kay K: The staff were warm and accommodating. The food was absolutely fresh and fast. We started with the pepperoni pizza which was delicious while it was hot and had a portion of the fries which were different from the norm in a good way. Wine, cocktails were great. Will revisit!!Recommended dishes Crab French Fries …More
Chido Sanchez: The food was excellent. Staff was awesome. Mike is very knowledgeable and answered all of our outlandish questions. Only issue was the seats. The counter stools and bar stools we're pretty uncomfortable for the initial sit and some may or may not get used to it.My recent visit was a complete letdown...lack luster Definitely not where they were when I first visited. My reservations were at 8, which is pretty much the last seating of the evening. So perhaps we can chalk it all up to fatigue towards the end of the day, not sure. The host staff seemed as if they did not want to be there. The food runners also seemed as if they did not want to be there. Overall this last trip there was a complete bust, and if I didn't know what they were capable of as a restaurant, I probably wouldn't go back. I will however give it another chance because I do know/hope they are better than what they showed me this last time. In between my first time in this most recent I'm I have been there several other times, and this was an anomaly.
Chris Traer: Manager was amazing, Comping us a drink when asking us to move tables. The grilled octopus was ridiculous.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Daniel Wang: Cheap $ oysters!
Katerina Ivannikova: Highly overrated and overpriced for what we’ve experienced. Each slice was inconsistent with toppings and how cooked it was. Most of the spices were superfluous and didn’t taste good. We also waited for 45-50 min to get appetizers.Service was ok.
Josh Denault: First time and it was a little rough.I'm assuming Waypoint is having trouble staffing, as the service felt disjointed and distant. No real welcome from our server, at first I honestly assumed he was a busser and was just providing water. No check in after food was delivered. Cocktails were finished, and no offer to fill empty glasses. Dishes just sort of come out whenever, which must be easier for the restaurant, but at these prices I admit to expecting things to be more intentional. "Are you all set?" is admittedly one of my peeves, as I think "anything else?" or "can I get you desert, coffee, more drinks?" is more appropriate. The food - wife had the shrimp cocktail and Jonah crab pasta, and she enjoyed both a great deal. I had the house salad and the burger, both of which were good. Lots and lots of lettuce (escarole?) on the salad. Lots and lots of fries with the burger. The drinks - this was the highlight for me. Fairly Buzzed, the absinthe cocktail I had was quite tasty, as was my wife's tequila drink, titled Wasp's Nest. She would've had at least a glass of wine, and I would've had at least one more drink, but it just never happened. So the food was good. Not great, but it was certainly good enough to warrant a return. The service and environment however will probably keep us from doing so. Too many other options in the area.
James W: Made an early reservation for V-Day based on a review I read, but it was definitely a disappointment as we drove into the city to give Waypoint a try. I knew parking might be an issue so I called to check and the restaurant message said that there was valet parking available. When I called prior to arrival, I was told there was no valet service on Tuesdays (not on their message) and that I would need to find side street parking. That was not very helpful. The hostess made it sound like we might lose our reservation. We arrived 15 minutes late after searching for parking and were seated. Our server was very pleasant, but the menu was uninteresting and ordinary for a restaurant advertised as a seafood place. The plates were small (Wood Grilled octopus was only 2 pieces and very salty), the family style vegetable roast was partially burnt, the French Fries were mostly hard and many were burnt. The Ora King Salmon plate was tasty, but the Jonah Crab & Angel Hair was very salty. Not even a goodbye from the host/hostess upon leaving. Would not recommend a trip into town for this.
Trevor Cabrera: $1 oystersSat at the barHad to literally flag down the 3 bartenders for food and drink and receiptIt was busy but the service was TERRIBLE at the bar for the price of the restaurantWill. Not. Return.
Tom Reid: Fantastic food. Wonderful, friendly, attentive service. Just a great all around evening.Recommended dishes Whole Roasted Branzino, Wood Grilled Octopus & Potato Salad …More
Vanessa: Waypoint never disappoints. Been going here for years. Oysters are always great, and the seafood pasta dishes and their pizzas are also 10/10. Ambiance is on point too
Abi Doctor: Great spot for oysters!

Kathy Martin (wkathym): We have always loved coming here. But tonight I had a lobster roll, and halfway through, there was an ammonia flavor. Two chunks tasted of this. Eeeew! This was a $45 lobster roll (served warm). I was very surprised and very disappointed. This place has a wonderful reputation. They are known for their seafood. So, I am not sure what happened. The service, however, was stellar. I will probably come back, but will be on my guard.

Mister Mister: My family enjoyed this iconic place as we have eaten here 3 times in the past 10 years when we visit Boston. Service was excellent, manager friendly (showed my adolescent boys the large lobsters) and fun atmosphere. So why the low rating? My shrimp were woefully overcooked, rubbery and inedible...how can that happen at a place that specializes in seafood? The scallops were also overcooked, but not as bad. However, they were gritty. The food highlight were the brussel sprouts and my son's swordfish.
michael hernandez: These guys went above and beyond for me this past Sunday at there drag brunch event. Ruben, the manager showed excellent, over the top hospitality and made a odd special request happen for me by adding a drink name for my partner on the brunch menu. In addition to that, they spoke with the drag show artist for a special shout out and presented the cake I had got for her with the entire room singing to just her.( I felt bad for the other lady's who were also celebrating a birthday) our server was also really good and attentive making sure we had our drinks right out and she had a large amount of covers with a lot going on! The menu was small but perfect for brunch and executed perfectly and so fast I thought the runner was at the wrong table. I highly recommend this place to anyone that needs a venue for a larger party or just a date. To everyone that was there on Sunday I am sincerely grateful. You made a special woman's entire day and made me look like I'm a catch 😂 Cheers to Ruben and staff. Hospitality like that is hard to find now aways.
Siddharth: The food is average. Not worth the price. Had been here for standup comedy. That was also average.

Scott Bloom: Paid $34 for grilled shrimp and scallops. Potatoes came out pretty raw and shrimp was way over cooked. Had a greasy calamari that was…well….greasy. I’ve been here before and won’t ever come back. Place has always been overhyped and underperformed but this was the worst. Told the waitress and she literally asked me what do you want me to do and brought me a side dish of mashed.

Proddy Sukcharoen: Been craving a lot of contemporary dishes lately, so I decided to try a uinque and modern seafood tapas place in Cambridge: Moëca. If you are familiar with the Italian restaurant Giulia, this is their sister property! Though the small plates may seem pricey, I can assure you that the quality and visual presentation of the each dish is phenomenal. A splash of ever-changing flavor profiles as you go through the guest dining journey makes the experience very memorable. The service time was slightly long considering the portions of certain dishes, but our server was amazing!! Ambience is a 10/10. Lovely interior designs and seatings. Here are some hilights of the evening:🦄Unicorn Oysters: rhubarb granita, dried lemon🐟Hiramasa: pear, radish, white soy, green onion🐚Maine Mussels: hazelnut, vadouvan, lime🐙Octopus: rhubarb mojo, citrus, coriander🥞Chickpea Pancake: wild onion, anchovy butter Maine Lobster Spaghetti: coral butter, fermented chilli, shiso🗡️Swordfish: tom yum, cucumber, wild onion💨Smoked Vanilla Mascarpone Gelato: spicy caramel🥛Milk Chocolate Mousse: sesame shortbread, strawberry, yuzu sorbet🍷Specialty beverages🍹

Sam Stern: Great seafood and some subtle steals from Giulia mean the pasta dishes are amazing
Ignacio Perez: Great place for modern complex and delicious seafood dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. Great cocktails too
Catrina Wang: The presentation was polished, but the food itself was mediocre. The fish ended up causing some stomach upset, so I wonder about their food sourcing practices.
Bernie Pucker: Had expected much more but was not thrilled. Very specific menu and items on website not available limited our choice. Noisy. Giulia is still the standard. Also miss BenedettoFood: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Stuart Layton: Overall it was a fine night but we were expecting a lot more for the “new best restaurant in Boston”The highlights were the carrot fritters, the octopus, and the grilled muscles. The other dishes were just okay. Also the wait staff seemed either very distracted and disinterested. We got a reservation and mentioned it was a 40th birthday. The hostess called to confirm the reservation and mentioned the note was on the reservation, and said they’d do something special. The wait staff didn’t mention this and when we casually brought it up they said “oh we can bring you a candle in any desert you order”.The entire thing felt very weird.
Barret Pfeiffer: Simply Sublime. A fantastic experience, beautiful interior, wonderful staff, and undeniably delicious food. Well done, Moeca!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Shanti Yoga Hopkinton: We are longtime fans of Giulia and have been there many times, so we were very excited to try their sister restaurant, Moeca. We had dinner in this beautiful space last night, for my birthday. It was sensational. The concept here is shared plates, mostly seafood, incredibly fresh and expertly prepared. Chef Pagliarini has done it again! We started with the Unicorn Oysters, which were topped with a celery granita....we each had two, but I could've easily taken down a dozen. Next we had the tuna crudo, which was so delicious, we wouldn't let the server take out plate--we ordered the sourdough to sop up the savory chili vinaigrette that remained! We also devoured the octopus, squash agnolotti and steamed green crab custard. Lastly, we shared the Lobster Spaghetti, which was incredible. For dessert, the Lemon Bomb with pistachio ice cream. Drinks were lovely. Service was attentive without feeling intrusive. All in all, a truly wonderful experience.I will say, be prepared to spend here. We (two of us) each had a cocktail, split a bottle of wine (the least expensive on the menu,) had 6 small plates, shared an entree and shared a dessert and the total came to $286, before tip. Definitely a special occasion spot for us, but we will be back!
Zoe Reddig: Incredible all around. Service was superb- bartenders John and Josh were attentive, knowledgeable, and fun to be with! Cocktail selections were elegant and eclectic. Food was diverse, unique, and balanced in every way. Can’t wait to be back!
Scott Burson: A really nice addition to the Cambridge restaurant scene. Food was very tasty, and gorgeous to look at.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
anthony valluzzi: Nice place if you like seafoodFood: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Jea Kim: Operating under the team behind Giulia, Moëca is a great place to enjoy inventive seafood dishes in an intimate atmosphere.Recently took a visit to check out the hype around this new place. Due to their frequent changes in the menu, I wasn’t able to find some of the dishes that I wanted to try. Nevertheless, most of the dishes we ordered were fantastic, and the creativity exhibited in Giulia was seen on some of the plates. The unicorn oysters were great introductions to our meal. Taking a bite of the oysters topped with yuzu granita was a sheer bliss as the briny taste of the oysters was elevated with a mildly sweet flavor from the yuzu. Green crab custard was also one of my favorites. Although small, the custard was packed with crab fat and was extremely flavorful. Smelts and chips seemed like fish and chips with a creative twist, and this was low-key the most addictive dish of the meal. The only dish that I had gripes with was the charred cabbage that was overly salty. From the large plates, we tried the monkfish and the lobster spaghetti. I’m usually not a huge fan of monkfish, but their execution of grilled monkfish was fairly good. Sweet potato purée and crispy kale were good complements to the fish. Lobster spaghetti reminded of the one I tried in Judy’s bay. The perilla leaf toppings were perfect additions to the slightly acidic shiso sauce with a subtle lobster flavor. For desserts, we chose a scoop of smoked vanilla mascarpone gelato which was phenomenal. Spicy caramel popcorn toppings were interesting and its pleasant spice level put a great finish to our meal.Parking: Paid street parking on Mass Ave

Michael Edgar: Went here last night and as we were paying for the bill, my wife and friend (whom we were celebrating) noticed a mouse running around the dining room.A moment later, 6 more mice started scurrying around the floor. No one else seemed to notice, so I politely and quietly told the staff and manager. The manager's response "yeah - we have mice, sorry about that"I know buildings have mice, and I know it was probably going to be taken care of, but the fact there response was so casual for an "upscale" restaurant... very unnerving.1 mouse, totally fine actually, but 6... come on man, show some hustle and pride. Thanks for the overpriced dinner taboot - great atmosphere.

Martin Seibert: Best was Fish and Chips. We ate for 220 USD with 5 (3 kids). Scallops and Scampi were well done. Chicken was dry. It was too mich „fast food“ and too little good fish. I was a little disappointed.
Danielle Marie Carney: Big pieces of fresh lobster in the lobster rolls! Dan, the manager, is a first-rate professional who really cares about the place! We are visiting from another state, and he made us feel very welcome in his restaurant. He’s very knowledgeable about the area, too, and helped us understand how Kendall Square is laid out. Great job with everything, and a very friendly staff.
Alona King: I stopped in here for a quick rest stop. Ordered a bowl of clam chowder, half dozen oysters and a Pom & Rose Lemon Drop cocktail. Phenomenal! The flavors from the oysters and lemon drop especially played well with each other, made for a scrumptious combination. Plus the bartender was so friendly in finding the ideal drink for me. Will be back again!
Garrett Shue: Stopped here for some amazing seafood! At first we wanted lobster, but ended up getting Halibut and Swordfish! We also got the calamari with Thai sauce, and it was some of my favorite calamari I have had! Both dishes we received were incredible and the side were delicious! Actually the Brocoli Au Gratin was my favorite thing I had on the menu!

Hassan Chehab: The atmosphere and service are great. Shoutout to our server who was very attentive and checked in on us several times during our stay. The food itself tastes great too--however, for the price, the serving sizes were definitely on the small side. I got the fish and chips, and got exactly 1 piece of fish. The side of cole slaw that came with it? Came in a teeny sauce cup. Why would you skimp on the cole slaw? That must be one of the cheapest things to make.Vegetarian options: The only vegetarian options are sides, salads, or appetizers.Kid-friendliness: They have booster chairs and kid's menus with crayons.Parking: They validate parking which is a MUST as the parking garage is out to fleece you, at $38 for 2 hours unvalidated.Dietary restrictions: They can make certain menu items Gluten Free

davidson joseph: I walked in for a drink at around 8:45 pm(Mar 1) and Dan was super subjective and rude. He didn’t even take the time say good evening. He didn’t introduce himself or kindly state that the establishment would close soon. He looked at me and said, “ Are you drinking or not?…”As an educated Harvard graduate studentI felt unwelcome and not valued as a customer. This is certainly my first and last experience at this location… I hope this is not representative of the whole establishment. I was told by the bartender that Dan is not the MOD. I’m hoping he gets proper training in cultural sensitivity and best practices especially if he is in front of the house.
Margaux Ilyse Krembs Epter: food was good! as a vegetarian I know its weird to go to a fish restaurant but thats what the family wanted. I still was able to find an entree I was happy with! atmosphere was lovely and I would enjoy returning
Uri Avraham: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Lobster Bisque, Lobster Roll, Clam ChowderMore
Jorge Garcia: Our food--swordfish with mashed sweet pitatoes & street corn--was fine, but nothing special in flavor or presentation. Somewhat disappointing, since we went to a higher-end spot for a special occasion. Our servers were very attentive & helpful, though, & we were grateful to get a good table despite showing up a full hour before our reservation time.Vegetarian options: Seafood, first menu affords vegetarians lots of appealing options. (It'd be a different story for vegans, of course.)
S P: Walked by and was drawn in by the ambience. The food didn’t disappoint either. Service is on point. Had everything we wanted, and an inviting place for a good long chat. Glad we came across a nice restaurant as such. Start with the oysters and end with the cappuccino! You won’t go wrong.
