I go up to try to get a sense of what my options for finishes are. Barely an audible response. The gentleman working at the front desk hardly acknowledged me, and doesn’t bother to explain anything to me. He lists some options (doesn’t bother showing me or pointing at any references) I select one randomly. I show him the paint cards. He told me to “read them off”. I said sure.He then says “I can’t make these paints”. I ask why. He explains they’re out of extra white base. This itself is fine. I try to work with him to get a darker color, but he says he doesn’t know what he can make. I’m ok if the system works based on him inputting a number, but he could at the very least tried to be a little more helpful than that.After a lot of struggling, I decide to just get one of the colors. I ask him to make the purchase tax exempt, and he says “he can’t do that”. He says it’ll take a week. And that only his manager can do it. I know this is a tricky task sometimes, but the way this was handled was just so infuriating. No attempt at being helpful or understanding whatsoever. Zero.I’m assuming this is just the case of a very exasperated and tired staff member, and I hope this review doesn’t get him in any trouble. But this was the most miserable I’ve been in any retail store in the history of my three-ish decades being alive.

Jason McKenzie: I have frequented this store several times to pick up incidentals- which are all painfully overpriced (which I put up with because of location), but I can no longer stomach the owner’s miserable attitude. I bemoaned the nearly double price tag of a generic item (compared to other stores) and he told me it was “because of Biden and the Democrats” that his prices were so high. When I asked him to clarify, he doubled down so I told him I would not be returning. Now it makes total sense that this guy is one of those suing the city over the bike lane.

Jonathan Michaud: We hired RB Painting to paint the exterior of our house. Rob and the team did a fantastic job. The quality of the work was excellent and we are very pleased with how the house looks. I should add that the crew who painted the house were very nice and obviously took pride in their work. And it was a tough job because the weather in early to mid August this year had a ton of rain. So it made the job more difficult for RB Painting than it might otherwise have been if they had lots of sunny weather. Rob helped us pick the correct colors and had lots of good advice and responded to questions. Rob managed to get a carpenter to replace a few shingles and a rotten windowsill on the top floor. They cleaned up the place nice and did not leave a mess. I would hire RB Painting again if I needed any exterior or interior painting work.
