Peter Ph: Well appointed and not too tightly packed. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food is good, though given there is "French" food on the menu, it's a shame the food isn't more authentic - very Americanized. The duck vol au vent was good. The biggest drawback is that it is very noisy when busy. If you like shouting to your dinner companions over the table, this is the place for you. If you want a relaxed dinner, maybe this isn't the place for you. Of course, the restaurant doesn't want customers to relax, as it is much more profitable to maintain high turnover.

Chelsea Shin: It is a decent french place, but don’t keep your expectation high. We had a few dishes, but nothing really stood out. I may try this place again, but I will prioritize other restaurants over this one. Also, the atmosphere is kinda off, it is by the hotel lobby and it feels like a hotel restaurant not in a good way.

Another server was friendly, polite but was not able to explain whether the meat is cooked or not. Consistency of food are different. Sweet dishes are good. But I m not satisfied with food and the lady who took us at our table.

We had to wait even after an early reservation, the rest of the staff was friendly but one lady was making un polite faces while taking us to our seats. We experienced hostile behavior when we asked her about the dish which wasn’t fully cooked.We went there to celebrate my friend’s birthday and was extremely disheartened after the experience.Though the place was beautiful and some dishes were really good, I don’t think the experience was something friendly towards us.

It was a busy Friday night but the entire time we were harassed by a drunk man who hovered over our seats and wouldn’t leave us alone after being told several times to step back.The bartenders were too busy to intervene but they did see it playing out and did nothing. Do not recommend this as a safe space for women or queer people.

Joe Cabral: What an amazing addition to the Cambridge dining scene. Maybe the best new opening in years. The food, which is amazing, is only overshadowed by the impeccable service. I'm officially obsessed.

Service was excellent and the ambiance was cordial and proper.Every dish I tried surprised me in it's own way with a unique flavor profile that satisfied just about every taste bud of mine. The oysters were sweet and creamy. The mushrooms were crunchy and bitter. The carrots had a nice acidic bite. The chowder was actually more lighter than I'm used to but then topped off with a savory bite of bacon. The pasta was my favorite with wonderful texture and nicely balanced sauce. Dessert was very decadentThe only downside is that our server recommended the carpaccio. E V: We tried to have dinner there but unfortunately were rudely turned away. We were told all tables are reserved and there is no availability. I'm pretty sure that wasn't the case since it was 6pm on a Wednesday and the entire dinning area was empty for the exception of 1-2 tables. Most likely this was their reaction to my 2 school aged boys walking in first ahead of the adults. I would not recommend the place, no food is worth unfriendly service. Definitely not a family friendly place.So that evening we ended up in one of the nearby Portuguese restaurants, where were greeted warmly and the waiter was nice and friendly with everyone in the party, the kids included.Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly at all. Colin Maraganore: Absolutely incredible — if Boston did Michelin Stars (which they don’t), they’d have one. The ambiance, friendly staff, and relaxed vibe take this delicious and reasonably priced food to another level. A wine list full of oddities and variations is the cherry on top.If you have allergies, don’t panic. Call the restaurant the day of and let the host know which allergies you have. They will check with the chef to make sure it is doable, then the chef will personally modify anything he can to suit you. Not only is it modified, but it’s still delicious. It’s above and beyond.
Justin Mueller: Went here for Valentine's Day. The food was not undersalted. It was completely unsalted. Every supporting cast of side vegetables was bland. The cocktails tasted... weird? The steak was the right cook, but tough and clearly not cooked with enough butter. All of the salads were underdressed. Everything was too cold. The only thing that wasn't was the dinner rolls, which still took 40 minutes to arrive. You might think this is because of holiday crowding, but it really wasn't that crowded. The desserts were overly sweet and had odd, grainy textures.For the massive price tag, I was at least hoping for it to be edible.

The little leaf salad was also disappointing. Overall the food is very overpriced for what you get. Great service though. And the desserts were actually quite good. For somewhere that charges a $150 reservation cancellation fee, I would have expected a better experience.
Andi Land: The food and the vibe were both excellent, but the portions were really small for the price. The service started out okay but then became pretty inattentive. Took 10 minutes to get a second drink order. Physically the restaurant is quite nice and I had no problem with parking. Overall it was a good experience but I wanted two entrees for the size of what they delivered for the price.

Michael Hannon: This place is awful and the staff was incredibly rude. The last time I visited, I tried to order a glass of wine with dinner and was asked for my ID. I am 38 years old, so I found this incredibly surprising. I gave them my valid Canadian ID, but they said they wanted to see a passport. Um, who goes out with their passport? I couldn't provide a passport, so they refused to let me order a glass a wine. I've lived in the US for 6 years and in that time I have always been able to order wine with a meal at a restaurant. Again, I am a 38 year old professor and don't exactly look like I'm 19. I understand why you might want extra proof for someone who looked younger, but the whole situation was so absurd and insulting, especially because I was there with my partner to celebrate some good news, that we decided to leave without ordering food. Go to Barcelona or Harvest instead.
Justin McCarthy: I attended a new years eve tasting menu with my significant other. A credit card was required to make the reservation in advance at a cost of $85 per person, with a required 20% gratuity. When we arrived at 9:05 for our 9pm reservation, we were asked to wait by the bar for an additional 10 minutes. This was foreshadowing for how the entire experience would go. The staff was friendly, polite, and added a redeeming quality. The food was tasty despite extremely small portions (6 pieces of gnocchi... come on man). We had opted for several items that required upcharge. The only upcharged item that was even remotely worth it was the seafood risotto. All in all, this experience was not worth the money or efforts. It may have been an off-night for Puritan & Company, but somehow I doubt that based on the other Google reviews...

When I asked for a different drink he said « what did you expect? ». This set a really bad tone for our experience here. He also took butter for our rolls away before we were done eating. Food itself was good, though overpriced. Carpaccio was tasty but small. Same for the buratta, could use more salt. Fusilli was really good! Rolls were delicious. Swordfish Reuben was tasty but too salty. Overall would try them again, but ideally with better service

Annika Nelson: Fantastic date night spot! We like to go early and find two seats at the bar for small bites and wine flights. Bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly, food is fantastic and there’s something for everyone. We never skip the albondigas and the potato tortilla but it’s a great place to try new flavors in food and wine.

Jess Walsh: Oh. My. Goodness. My partner and I came here for our anniversary and we had an AMAZING time! All the food was delicious, the mussels and the spinach/chickpea cazuela in particular. Service was beyond impeccable. Our server, Olivia, was attentive and lovely and so so sweet to us, as was Damien at the host stand. We already loved this place, but the way we were treated tonight sealed the Cambridge location as the favorite of favorites for tapas and good wine.

Caylie Whiteside: The manager Emma is incredible! The restaurant was overflowing with people and yet it was so clear she had everything under control and was running the show efficiently. The food was very good, drinks were solid, and service was friendly.One thing that can be hard to find in the Boston area, and specifically in Cambridge, is value. There are plenty of very good places to eat, but many leave me wondering if I've gotten value for my dollar. Barcelona Wine Bar didn't leave me feeling that way. We shared 6 small plates, and two drinks each, and were able to get out feeling full, satisfied in terms of experience, and for about $110 before tipping.I can't remember everything we had, but I think the highlights included the brussels, the ham and cheese croquets, and the hummus were all very good. Wasn't a huge fan of the empanadas, but I think that's truly the only thing I wasn't thrilled with.We'll definitely be back.

My pasta dish actually ended up being tossed around in a cheese wheel next to our table before being served to me and I was beyond happy with this surprise because the more cheese the better, always! Staff was so friendly and always very attentive - it’s a very well-run restaurant and you can tell they genuinely care about the customers and the product they put out! We ordered drinks, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, dessert and coffee. Everything was absolutely delicious, good portions for the fair price and we enjoyed everything. The little details really made it - explaining items on the menu, the coffee being very hot with the dessert, and everything else. We’ll absolutely be recommending this to others and we’ll be back!

Alexandra Philip: Would give this place 0 starts if I could. Not only is the food low-quality, but the service is abysmal (and openly racist). My partner and I came for dinner and were the only people of color in the establishment. It took 30 min for someone to come take our order on a quiet weekday evening, while folks who came in after us were already receiving food. Servers were rude and dismissive, and food was cold and tasteless. Recommend going to Carmelinas in the North End for some real Italian and excellent service or Olive Garden for the same food at a cheaper price.

Nicholas Stamoulos: Cozy charming authentic Italian. Just the right amount of selections to offer choices but not overwhelm. Never had a bad meal there. Owner is pretty cool and sociable... but he could be a little nicer to staff. I was there for late lunch one time before pandemic and he was not very warm and fuzzy prepping wait staff for dinner. Otherwise never had an issue with service or anything else. Highly recommend...my friend from Bologna introduced me ... he knows his food. Nothing wrong with atmosphere... only been there day time....just nothing special. Maybe better low lit at night. Definitely enjoyed private area for private events one time.
