Samantha H-G: Ronnie was incredibly helpful and patient in helping me choose a sewing machine. She was kind, sweet and very thorough in talking through the features of the machine and let me video her threading the machine so I could refer back to it again rather than reading instructions in the booklet. She was very encouraging and said I could come back and ask questions if I needed help figuring out the stitches if I was working on a project.

chimi changa: Horrible place. Unhelpful, rude, dismissive. Went to another place and they're night and day from this place. I have talked to other people who confirmed that Sewing and Vac is the worst of the worst. HORRIBLE customer service. Ronnie promised me sewing lessons just so id purchase a machine. She was NO help. She and her son Russ are very odd people. I brought my machine in that i purchased from them and they dismissed my concern. Brought the machine to a different place the next day, and they diagnose the problem immediately and resolved it. This business is known in the industry for their sub par customer service. Stay as far from this place as you can. I learned the hard way. Hope this helps someone from not getting scammed like i did.

Charlotte Heim: Saved!!!... by David's knowledge and coaching at the Sewing & Vacuum Center. I am a "maker" sewing an unusual sandwich of neoprene and lycra. About 15 months ago, David worked with me to carefully select a machine that met my stitching needs and my budget. I spent at least an hour sewing my materials on a broad range of models in his store. About a month ago, my machine started acting up, causing all sorts of production issues. Today I brought my sewing machine back into the Sewing & Vacuum Center and David patiently listened while I described the issue. Within just 10 minutes, he helped with solve the problem with just a bobbin change! THANK YOU David!!

Kat Dobbins: This is a rather severe edit of what I consider to be a rather severe review. I don't like to leave such reviews, so I've edited this review to be more concise and helpful.I arrived for the first class in a 4-part series of beginner sewing classes. There was no one there. The lights were off and the door was locked. It was very disappointing, exacerbated by the fact that I busted by butt to get to that class. **I've needed to care more about my work and my health than delivery a payment to an out-of-the-way physical storefront location within business hours during which I hold said job that I need to care about.** I prioritized attending this class but Sewing & Vacuum Center did not prioritize me as a customer/student.There are a few simple things the Sewing & Vacuum Center could have done to prevent this.1. Allow people to register and pay for the class over the phone or online. There are many ways to pay via the internet and many of them are easy to set up.2. Post your class schedule online. If you had simply done this I would have known to come the next week this whole situation could have been avoided.

Coz Teplitz: The folks here have been very friendly. Still, the $15 limit for use of a card is ridiculous. I know credit and debit card rates are hardest for small businesses, but come on, enter the 21st century. Amazon will ship me everything in your store - including things far below $15.

Plamena Petrova: The worst possible place where you can take anything for repair!! I had to wait a MONTH AND A HALF for them to replace one part of a vacuum cleaner under warranty. In the meantime I had to keep calling the manufacturer and these people wouldn't give any status updates. Not to mention the rudeness of the staff!!! They'd also claim to have called me to give me updates when I haven't received a single phone call. Last but not least, their address is wrong on Google maps cause apparently they moved but you've got no way of knowing that unless you read the sign on their door after you've already looked for parking for half hour and paid!!

Md Sifat Bin Raquib (Sifat): They did a good job with an old coat I had and needed a bit altered. I was skeptic when I was picking it up, but after returning home, I tried it on again with different layers underneath, and the quality work was apparent. I highly recommend them.

He had me measured and pinned within 5 minutes of my arrival. He explained every option and choice. He took a very poor fitting suit from Belk and turned it into a custom masterpiece. Shane Butler: I got a suit altered at Jack’s Tailoring. The service was quite expensive ($260!) and after the alterations were done, I noticed that there was something wrong with the cuff buttons. I brought the suit jacket back to him and explained that I was unhappy and wanted the sleeves lengthened. He told me that he wouldn’t do it and that it was my fault that I couldn’t “envision” what he was going to do. He clearly didn’t explain what he was going to do with the cuff buttonholes well enough and could’ve just showed me what he was aiming to do on another jacket and that would’ve solved the problem as I never would’ve approved his alteration.He refused to do any work for me on the suit jacket and refused to refund me any of my money. I had to take the jacket to a superior tailor to fix his shoddy workmanship.An unpleasant and expensive experience with Jack’s Tailoring made worse by his terrible customer service. One of them, my favourite dress, was damaged (the buttons were chipped or broken).When I asked for a partial refund, they told me that I assumed the risk of damage to my garments when I drop them off. Michael Anand-Obleton: Best tailors ever! We were all set to wear our stylish purple suits to our son's wedding, but less than 24 hours before the ceremony, his fiancée brought my husband and me each a traditional Indian kurta Paijama dress and we wanted to impress her by wearing them to the wedding. Unfortunately, however, they were way too small for either of us to fit into: my husband's arms were too big and muscular, and my chest was too big for the garment to fit over my head. Although these tailors were extremely busy on a holiday weekend, they still decided to work overtime to make sure we looked perfect for our son's wedding. They are wonderful people who do exceptional work, and we will always come back to them anytime we're here in Boston.

Cindy Wu: Extremely disappointed with my experience at this business. I’ve previously brought items in for dry cleaning and was happy with the results. However, one month ago, I brought in two dresses and one shirt for dry cleaning, none of which were particularly dirty. When I picked up the garments, the dresses both smelled awful, but the shirt was fine. Upon realizing this, I returned to Mid Cambridge Cleaners and asked him what could be done about it. The owner immediately raised his voice, and started gaslighting me. He claimed that the dresses did not smell, that perhaps it had to do with the dry cleaner’s detergent or my body odor, and accused me of lying to him (insinuating that i had taken the dresses home and somehow made it smell at home). I eventually got a refund for one dress (my friend needed to wear it so we rushed it to another dry cleaner who described the smell as, and I quote, “dead smell, not human smell”).As for the other dress, he allegedly sent it back to the cleaners, but my friend went to go pick it up for me and it still had the same stench. Rather than apologizing, he once again started denying that the dress smelled, accusing her of lying, and yelling in a very unpleasant manner. Ultimately, he sent it back to the cleaners and I just picked it up now. It smells fine, but I expressed my displeasure to him and am expressing it here so others are warned.It’s not that the dresses smelled bad: I understand mistakes and anomalies occur. It’s the way he treated me, and my friend, that I found disappointing and unacceptable. I do my best to treat others with respect, and hope to be treated with respect in return. That did not happen with Mid Cambridge Cleaners.

Maurice Burger: Unfortunately I had a very negative experience with Royal Cleaners. I brought in a jacket for dry cleaning and a repair of a small tear. Instead of taking 1 week, I had to wait more than a month to get the jacket back. After four weeks and three visits, I received a text message saying that they had accidentally broken my jacket. When first bringing in the jacket I had told the lady that it was an old jacket that was very dear to me as it belonged to my late father. Unfortunately the jacket appears to be beyond repair now. When I went back for the fourth time to pick up the jacket today, the man at the store made me wait and served other customers before me until he finally handed me my broken jacket. I won't go back and hope this review will get the owners to reconsider their practices.
