Yulika Forman: I hired Marcus to do water damage mitigation and mold prevention in my house after a pipe burst. Marcus did not open any walls or ceilings, he just installed his equipment and let it run. He had his equipment here for three days, after which he told me that everything was dry and only cosmetic work was needed, to repaint walls and refinish the floors. Luckily, I was able to get an independent company come out and take moisture readings to check his work. They found that most of the walls and the floors were still wet. I watched as reading after reading showed "wet, wet, wet, wet." They advised that walls needed to be opened to be dried well because of the insulation inside that stayed wet with the surface drying that Marcus did. They also explained to me that if I leave things unopened, in the summer everything inside the walls will start getting moldy. In fact, one of the rooms already started smelling damp two days after the equipment was removed. Marcus was combative and rude when I communicated this to him and asked for a partial refund. I would strongly caution you not to work with his company. They won't do a good job and their response to a complaint is to dismiss it. As you see from his response below, even though the readings done today by an INDEPENDENT company showed the walls and floors are wet, Marcus will not take a customer concern seriously. I had no interest in him coming back since the work he has done was so lousy. They showed up that evening, removed soaked insulation, put up barriers enclosing the wet areas, and provided powerful dehumidifiers to dry things out, and air cleaners to capture any mold that might be in the air. Once we were able to arrange for the plumbing to be disconnected from the sinks, they then sent a crew to remove the ruined flooring, pull up the cabinets with wet flooring underneath, etc. About a week from the start of the process to having a dry kitchen, ready to start installing new floors. Samuel Huang: We hired Servpro for bathroom mold removal. The technicians finished the job and clean 98% of the mold. However, my experience with this company is not positive.1. The technicians arrived 30 mins later than the schedule one hour time frame window set up by themselves. No explanation was given.2. The project is in a bathroom with limited air circulation. The strong chemical odor could make me dizzy within a few seconds within the treated area. I was only able to clean the bathroom the day after they finished the project. There were white chemicals residue all over the place. The technicians did their cleaning because half roll of my paper tower is gone. While cleaning, I had a piece of ceramics stocked to my palm, then I found out that they broke our lamp which was placed on the counter. Instead of letting us know, the tech hided the broken lamp into the storage under the sink.3. The technicians left two machines running after first day of treatment. One was dehumidifier and the other one was air filter. Both machines required to plugged in power outlet to run. There are two power outlets in the bathroom and two more just outside the bathroom. The technician somehow decided plug one of the machines to the power outlet in my children's room, which is 5 fts away from the bathroom door. The children's room door was closed when they arrived. The technician did not check with me about the power outlet location. They simply help themselves to open our children's room door and find the power outlet behind a desk. We were not aware of the intrusion until next morning (again, strong chemical odor).4. The company required me to pay 50% of the estimated before sending their crews out. I was not aware of this until late afternoon the day before the appointment. Their billing department called and left a message on my phone after 2:30 pm and I was only aware of that two hours later. I had to stay on hold while driving for 15 minutes plus before reached a service rep to help me out with the situation. Later I reviewed the signed sales contract and still found no mention on this payment requirement.The technicians get their job done, mostly. They missed a few spot on the bathroom window. The window frame in plastic so I will find a time frame when no one needs to use that bathroom to clean the mold myself.To be fair, I was impressed by the professionalism of their field estimator and the production manager in the beginning. I would also say the technicians do know how to clean mold, but somehow disrespectful to other’s property and privacy. He said he could have a crew available within a day. They arrived even a little earlier than scheduled; worked hard and efficiently and were accommodating and responsive to my concerns.
