Christine Sword: Called and asked them to help socialize my dog, who has never been aggressive. Told they don't have a trainer for that. Talked to me made the reservation and told me the could help. Today I called to confirm and was told there are no trainers during the day. Naomi(sp?) And Mellisa manager both told me they don't do that. After ther continued to talk over me they both refused to give their name again.. Don't Take your dog to any program in Chelmsford! I was happy in Woburn for 14 years but the trainer retired. Chelmsford tried to tell me they needed to train me individually! After 14 years of training( a therapy dog, an aggressive dog, and a pure bred lab. They told me I need to be trained. Keep in mind those 14 years were weekly and I probably have more time with dogs than the trainer. Melissa the manager continued to talk over me and would not listen. My dog is not aggressive, socialized well the first two years. Just asking for help adjusting from fenced in yard to apartment complex. My rating would be zero if I could. To have a manager talk over you so you can't explain the issues is ridiculous.

Gary Milliken: This used to be a great place for doggy daycamp. In 2023 they lost our reservations on 3 separate days. Left me scrambling to find someone to watch my dog for the day, so I could get to work. I asked why Petsmart doesn't text or email confirmations. They shrug their shoulders and don't have a reason. Poor systems in place and bad management. I seriously suggest going to a more reliable place.

Devon MacPherson: A real fancy PetSmart, looks great inside, pretty big, has what you need if your local smaller one doesn't have it; grabbed special organic canned food that we couldn't get elsewhere. The only downside was stepping in dog poop right outside the door, but the workers wouldn't know if nobody tells them, thankfully there was snow to wipe it off in.

Joel Naticchioni: Really helpful staff and a great selection of pet supplies. The grooming department does great work and attention to detail. The Pet Hotel is very attentive and has scheduled activities for the pets. The on-site Banfield Hospital also takes great care of your little ones if they get sick or just need a regular checkup and usual shots. Great easy to find location with tons of parking. They also have a partnership with Happy Tails Rescue. Not only can you adopt there, but you get a coupon book to help set up for your new pet!

Waited 10 minutes, finally tracked someone down and was told store isn't opened while standing in the store. It always takes about 20 minutes to get fish or bugs

Inhumane if you ask me, also have heard the hot water has been down and no heat?? Wondering when this is going to be fixed and also heard you guys lost my favorite groomer Natalie. Such a shame you guys let your best work sellers go. I will be giving customer service and HR a call. No animals should be freezing in a pet store.

Its nice to see an establishment not just talk about making sure that the wildlife get to live well they secure it. Prices are fantastic and the managment is on point. Ive bought all my pets from here other then me old dog bailey . Price perfect quality of the tanks for fish on point its almost like every animal including the awesome parrot smile more then anyone every coming into the plaza. I really hope you get a pet from here because ive tried these big pet stores that promise they take care of the animals but they treat em like $$ dollar bills instead of another loved one. You want a good pet you go to new england tropical pet. 10/10 my favorite local store. Stay safe seize the night and get yourself a nice bird to talk to ya. He said that the bottle i had is to treat fish. 🤦🏻‍♂️ I knew he didn’t know what he was saying at the time… i did my own research and yess i bought it and tested it it fix both types of algae.2nd reason i bought two painted glass fish and not even a week they all died. The blue color died in 1 - 2 days after, and the second less than a week 20 dollar went to the trash. Do not recomendo fishes from them!

Alex Marks: This use to be the go to place for tropical fish and interesting reptiles with a knowledgeable staff. The last few years when I’ve gone in here there has been less and less of a selection of fish. But this last time I went in looking for a beta fish, having seen some very nice ones the time before. As we walked into the store there is an employee sitting with his head down on the counter taking a nap, and another employee playing with a ferret. While all the betas are sitting in absolutely filthy water, half of which aren’t even in a enough water for them to extend their fins. The other fish tanks against the wall looked like they haven’t been cleaned or cared for in months. The parrot cage behind the counter (which is the owners pet that’s been there for years) looked like it hadn’t been cleaned inside or around for months. The animals here are clearly being neglected while the employees are napping at the cash register. I have been a customer here since I was a teenager and always recommended this place to anyone interested in getting into the aquarium hobby and everyone I knew who was already in it, but after this experience I will not only recommend people avoid this place, but I could never in good conscience shop at a pet store that neglects it’s animals they way this place has been. There are pet stores that I refuse to go to, but I’ve never been disgusted enough to have write a review, but this one has become probably the worst I’ve seen. Which is sad because it use to be one of the best around.

joshua doucette: Overpriced charged 5 dollars per frozen mouse and 10 dollars per rat which is insane, frozen mice cost 3 per large mouse and 6 per rat literally everywhere els, the guy tried telling me the price of feeders went up a few months ago not knowing I'm a snake breeder and I'm we'll aware of the prices of mice and we'll aware that that is not true, i used to go here when i was a kid so it’s upsetting seeing them rip people off now when they where so nice to me as a kid.

She also helped me select a habitat, food and toys, she was great.I have been thrilled with my parakeets.I now have a new one year old Sealyham that will be enrolled in adult basic obedience with Kristen.

Steph Rose: I visit this petco regularly and rarely need assistance as it’s a quick in and out, grab dog food and joint supplements and I’m out the door in under 10 minutes. I’ve recently had some issues with one of my dogs who has an ultra sensitive stomach. I couldn’t remember if I had last bought the chicken or lamb recipe and asked the cashier (Andrew- I believe) if he could look up my pals account to see which one I last bought. He happily assisted me and the computers were running a bit slow. He called for a backup cashier as I noticed a line was forming behind me. I asked if I could just return the bag if I got home and realized it was the wrong one but at that point he was committed to helping me find the answer. Thank dog he did because I had picked up the wrong bag of food. Thank you SO much for saving me an extra trip to the store (and saving my pup from a few days of diarrhea)

sam: was absolutely devastated at the condition that their poor ferrets were living in! ferrets need exercise and plenty of room, and while i understand that this is a store and cannot provide stellar care, these ferrets were living in a small tank-like enclosure, which is not at all healthy for them. ferrets need much larger enclosures with better air flow, and preferably with more areas for them to hide and burrow, seeing as that is in their nature and it gives them anxiety to go without it. there were also many racks of beta fish living in individual plastic containers that left them no room to swim, and were stationed directly next to each other, which aggravates and stresses beta fish. almost all of the fish were just floating because they didn't have room to swim. i came into the store just to pick up something for my cat and left with a pit in my stomach :(

Breanna Martel: Wow!!! This place is awesome. I was in a bind coming home from work finding out my puppy went into heat. The two staff members greated me when I first walked in and directed me to the dog diapers and cleaning supplies. I usually shop at another holistic pet supply store, but Google alerted me to this place. My first impression was woah they have a lot of stuff in here. But in a good way. It looks like a pet paradise, so many toys and treats to choose from, the dog bakery... Was so cute, and then I saw they sold animals... I was a little iffy about that, but you could tell all the animals were well cared for. I love how big of a selection they have for dogs big and little. The fact that they are family owned and not a chain store is one of the best parts. I highly recommend this store for anyone looking for unique pet items as well as a welcoming environment. They definitely have a new customer for life!!!

Lisa Vogal: GREAT PLACEI have been to 3 of their events and always have so much fun, Last Saturday was free photos with the Easter bunny and we got a free thank you gift bag when we left. All the events are free and what I like most about this family owned place is that they donate to many charities like foster children and leukemia foundations. My only Pet store!

Carter McKie: The management of this place is a disaster. It was expressed to a manager I had a pet I was being forced to give up and was looking for a new home for her, I was told that they would be happy to take her. After another week of searching for a home, I decided it was right to surrender her at Healthy Pet because I knew she would be loved and cared for there. When I brought her in, I signed and dated a release of ownership, and left feeling like I had done the right thing in the interest of my pet. 30 minutes later I was being told that I legally have to come back and get her because she doesn’t have vet records, which were never given to me when I got her in the first place. I go back, re-read the agreement I signed and note that under the agreement and per elements of contract, legally, this animal is not mine and no where in the agreement does it say anything about records. The MoD calls the owner who then comes to the store thinking for some reason that I wanted to take her back and then proceeded to attack my fiancé and I saying that I’m causing him headache and that I don’t care about the animal because I mentioned that upon signing the agreement, re-homing her was no longer legally my responsibility. The miscommunication between the management is not on my hands, that’s the company’s own internal control issue. Yes, the manager never should have said they could take her, but to the extent of communication and the agreement made between myself and the representative of Healthy Pet that I worked with, Healthy Pet was happy to take her for me. The situation was handled poorly by the owner in his inability to take accountability for the miscommunication and the employees not being trained properly. I will not bring business here nor do I recommend this pet store.

Kara Goodrich: I was told my ferret could be “donated” here, I brought her there under the impression she will be loved and cared for until she found a new home. 30min. Later I get a call saying I need to come get her and that I still own her. I signed a paper releasing her to them. I come back to come get her and they say “no” and that “I don’t love her” I can not keep her, she’s an escape artist and upon from being worried about her getting into things she has gotten out of the apartment and the landlord said that can’t happen. So the owner starts insulting me and my fiancé and saying we aren’t good owners and we never should have taken her there when the manager reached out and said they will “happily take her.” So here I am knowing my Pearl is in bad hands and there isn’t anything I can do about it. This review is to warn people who are in tough situations and can’t keep their pets. Don’t bring them here thinking they will be cared for and loved until they find a home. My sweet girl is now stuck there. The owner is a nasty man, employees were clueless on the donation process. He said they aren’t a shelter and we shouldn’t have brought her there yet they have a folder of dozens of copies on animal release agreements. Terrible business I will NEVER recommend this awful place.

The customer service is outstanding. They allow you to interact with the animals before you adopt them. This way you can find the correct match. Everything is such high quality.
