Its nice to see an establishment not just talk about making sure that the wildlife get to live well they secure it. Prices are fantastic and the managment is on point. Ive bought all my pets from here other then me old dog bailey . Price perfect quality of the tanks for fish on point its almost like every animal including the awesome parrot smile more then anyone every coming into the plaza. I really hope you get a pet from here because ive tried these big pet stores that promise they take care of the animals but they treat em like $$ dollar bills instead of another loved one. You want a good pet you go to new england tropical pet. 10/10 my favorite local store. Stay safe seize the night and get yourself a nice bird to talk to ya. He said that the bottle i had is to treat fish. 🤦🏻‍♂️ I knew he didn’t know what he was saying at the time… i did my own research and yess i bought it and tested it it fix both types of algae.2nd reason i bought two painted glass fish and not even a week they all died. The blue color died in 1 - 2 days after, and the second less than a week 20 dollar went to the trash. Do not recomendo fishes from them!

Alex Marks: This use to be the go to place for tropical fish and interesting reptiles with a knowledgeable staff. The last few years when I’ve gone in here there has been less and less of a selection of fish. But this last time I went in looking for a beta fish, having seen some very nice ones the time before. As we walked into the store there is an employee sitting with his head down on the counter taking a nap, and another employee playing with a ferret. While all the betas are sitting in absolutely filthy water, half of which aren’t even in a enough water for them to extend their fins. The other fish tanks against the wall looked like they haven’t been cleaned or cared for in months. The parrot cage behind the counter (which is the owners pet that’s been there for years) looked like it hadn’t been cleaned inside or around for months. The animals here are clearly being neglected while the employees are napping at the cash register. I have been a customer here since I was a teenager and always recommended this place to anyone interested in getting into the aquarium hobby and everyone I knew who was already in it, but after this experience I will not only recommend people avoid this place, but I could never in good conscience shop at a pet store that neglects it’s animals they way this place has been. There are pet stores that I refuse to go to, but I’ve never been disgusted enough to have write a review, but this one has become probably the worst I’ve seen. Which is sad because it use to be one of the best around.

joshua doucette: Overpriced charged 5 dollars per frozen mouse and 10 dollars per rat which is insane, frozen mice cost 3 per large mouse and 6 per rat literally everywhere els, the guy tried telling me the price of feeders went up a few months ago not knowing I'm a snake breeder and I'm we'll aware of the prices of mice and we'll aware that that is not true, i used to go here when i was a kid so it’s upsetting seeing them rip people off now when they where so nice to me as a kid.

I would give it 5 stars, but today we were rudely pushed aside by the female owner because she was annoyed that the other owner was taking a long time with us, talking about our pond maintenance, and she wanted to check out her customers. There was a more professional and polite method she could have used to make room. Frankly every time I’ve been there she seems irritable. My husband will continue to go there because he needs pond supplies. The gentleman who assisted us was knowledgeable and helpful and the ponds and fish are beautiful and well maintained, just be careful who waits on you.

Joyce Glynn: Chester Hollow did a fabulous job building my waterfall, but when it comes to repairs (and there are a lot needed because of chipmunks), Chester Hollow is the worst . I have left numerous messages only to get ignored and when they do call it's always "you are on the list". They got my 4,500 initially and can care less about their customers maintenance or repair after that. Be aware.

Krista is always very helpful with advise and suggestions, especially if I'm having any problems. Nobody knows ponds and pond building better than Charlie he has offered his advice and help when I've run into issues with my pond and he's always spot on. It's a great place to visit and I always look forward to my next visit with them.

I would never recommend them or use them ever again

Christine Sword: Called and asked them to help socialize my dog, who has never been aggressive. Told they don't have a trainer for that. Talked to me made the reservation and told me the could help. Today I called to confirm and was told there are no trainers during the day. Naomi(sp?) And Mellisa manager both told me they don't do that. After ther continued to talk over me they both refused to give their name again.. Don't Take your dog to any program in Chelmsford! I was happy in Woburn for 14 years but the trainer retired. Chelmsford tried to tell me they needed to train me individually! After 14 years of training( a therapy dog, an aggressive dog, and a pure bred lab. They told me I need to be trained. Keep in mind those 14 years were weekly and I probably have more time with dogs than the trainer. Melissa the manager continued to talk over me and would not listen. My dog is not aggressive, socialized well the first two years. Just asking for help adjusting from fenced in yard to apartment complex. My rating would be zero if I could. To have a manager talk over you so you can't explain the issues is ridiculous.

Gary Milliken: This used to be a great place for doggy daycamp. In 2023 they lost our reservations on 3 separate days. Left me scrambling to find someone to watch my dog for the day, so I could get to work. I asked why Petsmart doesn't text or email confirmations. They shrug their shoulders and don't have a reason. Poor systems in place and bad management. I seriously suggest going to a more reliable place.

Devon MacPherson: A real fancy PetSmart, looks great inside, pretty big, has what you need if your local smaller one doesn't have it; grabbed special organic canned food that we couldn't get elsewhere. The only downside was stepping in dog poop right outside the door, but the workers wouldn't know if nobody tells them, thankfully there was snow to wipe it off in.

Joel Naticchioni: Really helpful staff and a great selection of pet supplies. The grooming department does great work and attention to detail. The Pet Hotel is very attentive and has scheduled activities for the pets. The on-site Banfield Hospital also takes great care of your little ones if they get sick or just need a regular checkup and usual shots. Great easy to find location with tons of parking. They also have a partnership with Happy Tails Rescue. Not only can you adopt there, but you get a coupon book to help set up for your new pet!

Such a shame you guys let your best work sellers go. I will be giving customer service and HR a call. No animals should be freezing in a pet store.

Chelmsford store has really gentleman supervisor once he solved my problem to change the foods that my kitty not loved to eat, he is very friendly and patient with customers.

quinn: Absolutely horrible. Theres always this old guy manning the register and is pretty rude to you unless you buy something. They keep their animals in unnecessarily small tanks with no stuff to interact with. As soon as you walk in you can see tons of Koi in tiny play pools. Near the counter theres a few tanks filled with hamsters and guinea pigs. The hamsters are always huddled together since theres nothing that can provide heat or entertainment, nothing but bedding. The last time i went there, there was a terrified guinea pig. Whenever i moved it ran in the opposite direction. I could only assume that he traumatizes the animals there. He sold my brother cheap broken fake vines for his iguana tank that costed 16 dollars He’s a HUGE scammer. You could definitely get healthier and better interior for your tank at even Petco. NEVER come here.

One of them told us we needed to buy this $250 lighting system! Last night we just happen to drive by Doc’s. We went in and had a wonderful conversation with the owner. We told him our troubles with our 36gal fish tank, as all his tanks are gorgeous and the waters are crystal clear. He recommended this one little product and we bought it thinking, ok... what’s the harm in trying yet another product. He told us give it 3 days to work. Well, last night before bed we put the proper dose in and this morning the fish tank is CRYSTAL CLEAR! Five stars for Doc’s!!!! He’s definitely won our business!

Skyla: Do not buy any live animals from this shop! Me and my boyfriend bought an axolotl from him 2 days ago. We were excited and he seemed kind and the animals did seem healthy. I wasn’t worried since We have had the tank set up with healthy animals in it for about 3 months now. A day after having the fish he became lethargic and white fuzz (we later found out was a fungus) started to form around his hands. We called immediately and isolated the fish as he’s basically passed. The guy I talked to was disrespectful and arrogant. He refused to test his tank which could have harmed our other animals in the tank at home and instead he offered we buy a fungus remover off him to put in the water. After arguing with him as he kept accusing me we ended the call to which we thought the fish had passed. We called the guy back and asked if he could replace the fish as it wasn’t our fault he refused to replace the fish We spent 40$ on because they “Do not have a guarantee.”

CSquared: Old school style pet store. I have been looking for a local fish/reptile shop to support this place seems like it might fit the bill. It seems hidden and a touch outdated but I almost prefer that vs the big stores and there is a lot here for most other animals too. This was my first visit and I received solid service and advice that I needed. Also I found/purchased some Kens fish food which is made locally and was told it is also used for the fish in this shop. I will be back.

Steven Hansen: This store has been in business many years now, but how? The people who work the store have zero personality and every time you're there, they look at you like you're trying to steal something from them. Most of the goods that are available for sale are covered with dust and clearly haven't sold for a long, long time. The few fish that they have for sale are more expensive than most stores. Honestly, I cannot see how they're in business. I live very near buy, but gladly travel a further distance to do business elsewhere. As for the raving reviews, most of them must be friends (??) or neighbors, because most who walk into this store leave quickly, with their hands empty. Do yourself a favor and move on to another pet store.

The Hollow Knight: I had picked up a Naoko’s Fairy Wrasse from Jay’s and within a week of it being in my tank, it had died. Alongside that, I’m now having an Ich outbreak and possibly a Marine Velvet issue with some of my fish that haven’t ever had issues. It’s really making me question how they go about treating incoming fish.

Locally they blow zoo creatures out of the water with prices. Customer service is better as well. Jays prices are much better and the quality is way better fish are all healthy.

I bought fish and they died almost immediately, so I tried to figure out what the problem was. I went to petco and petsmart to test my water and had no luck. They told me it was fine. Finally my friend recommended Jays Aquatics, and the owner tested my water and told me what was wrong. He has been helping me throughout the process over 3 weeks. My sons fish tank is FINALLY working and with fish in it! The owner Jay always takes the time to explain how to do everything and he is very knowledgeable. I would recommend this place to anyone for freshwater or salt water 100%!!!

Equipment for your reefs etc.Other notes. he uses copper in his fish only system, realize this when introducing them. Salinity is also quite low similar to a hospital tank.

Mike Rouch: Jay was really nice and helpful on the phone so I feel bad about a 2 star review. They do have a great selection but the customer service was awful. The owner was not there when we went so I’m sure it would have been different but the guy who was there is rude as hell and was in such a hurry he shook up my tetras so bad they were dead by the time we got home. He literally shook the bag like he was mixing a drink and flipped them all around. Not over exaggerating either. I don’t recommend going while they are busy. I won’t go back.
