Bhat Atul L MD: what do users think?
Gary Morris: I went in for a cortisone due to siatic pain. When getting the injection l experienced unbelievable pain down my siatic nerve I can only explain a an intense electrical shock. I screamed "stop, stop, stop, my leg, my leg, my leg". I heard Dr. Bhat say" the needle is out" I was told to stand up and was assisted off the table where the procedure was taking place. I was stood up and was holding on the table as l felt like l was going to pass out and Dr. Bhat told me "pull up your pants". I said I was going to pass out. A wheel chair was provided and l was wheeled out of the procedure room to another exam room. I was told by the 2 attending nurses or staff personnel (not sure as l was still very lightheaded) "don't close your eyes, stay with us". I was asked who l came with and responded my mother. I was asked her name and told them. I was given a hooded sweatshirt that l wore to appointments with my keys, wallet, eyeglasses and phone as l was still out of it they landed on the floor as l was still incapacitated to receive them. My mother came and she later remarked how white my complexion was. The attending personnel applied ice packs on my back neck and under my chin. I had no concept of how long I was in this recovery room, my mother estimated 20 minutes. My mother also told me l was talking the entire time about the shock l felt and the staff were remarking how it was no big thing. After the recovery l waited 15 or so minutes to talk to someone and eventually spoke to nurse. I wanted to speak to the doctor and was told l would have to wait until after he was done with injections. I requested that appointment for 2 1/2 hours later. I met with the doctor and was told it was because I had anxiety problems. He gaslighted me on my reaction to the injection telling most people can handle the pain. When researching the procedure l expected to feel pressure, heat or a tingling sensation and if accute pain is experienced let the attendant know to stop. I never received any follow-up call. I notified my primary and was told to let Dr. Phat know, 2 calls, spoke to receptionist and was dropped into voicemail the day after and the day after that. This was a terrible experience, I know he hit the nerve as to the reaction l described earlier in this post. I was been shocked a few times with both common 120 volts and high voltage in my career this was like that and it was from my upper leg to foot in the siatic nerve. The doctors bedside manner is terrible and evasive as he said he didn't hit the nerve and insinuated it was my anxiety. This my only review l have ever submitted. The only reason l submitted this is l hope someone would get a second opinion and not experience what l did. It also appeared to me his business operation is not unlike an assembly line, patients every 10 minutes
Margo Sargent: I have been a patient of Dr. Bhat’s for many, many years. He is absolutely wonderful. I was referred to him by another orthopedist for severe back pain. I have scoliosis, osteoporosis, had some herniated disc problems, degenerative disc disease, and a lot of complicated, challenging back issues. I have always been athletic, a jogger, and continue to exercise almost daily. No pain, no gain? Not true… but thanks to Dr.Bhat’s expertise, knowledge, and dedication to helping people feel better, I’m still at it! He is kind, attentive, compassionate, so skilled at his profession. Dr.Bhat takes the time to explain his treatment plan, and any and all questions that one might have. His staff is great, and I am so grateful. If I could give Dr.Bhat ten stars on this review, I would!I have referred many friends to his office, and everyone loves Dr.Bhat.He is truly an incredible physician and such a gentleman.Margo Sargent Simkin
Elaine Maldonado: Great Dr very good at what he does compassionate great bedside manners awesome job thank GOD for him
Donald Frechette: I got into Dr Bhat's office pretty quickly even with the staffing shortages that many businesses were facing. He ordered the appropriate images (he has his own xray device). Reviewed the images, provided the first shot and set-up a treatment plan all while explaining the next step. His office completed all of the paperwork required. There was never any anxiety or stress and his staff was always interested in how things were feeling. They even setup physical therapy to assist in my recovery and healing. DDD and 5 disks leaking between lower back and neck.
edward reidy: Should have space for more than 5 stars. Dr Bhat is a fantastic Dr doctorI have been a patient for about 6-7 years. He looks at x-rays Mris and Mras and tell in a second how he can help. He will give you a short exam and schedule you if he can help with injections. Hope he never retires. That would scare me to have to go elsewhere to treat my spinal stenosis in neck and spine. I would never have surgery without his opinion.
Debhinn Watts: Had a great experience with Dr Bhat and his team! I have multiple issues in my neck and he is addressing each one. I haven’t been this pain free in 10 years!
Clare “Clare” McKenna: Dr Baht has been my specialist for over 15 years. He’s so kind, compassionate, empathetic and genuinely takes the time to listen to my concerns and provides me with exceptional care. He’s always on time, which is so rare these days with other providers. All of his staff are friendly and helpful. If I have to call for an appointment or have any questions, the return call is prompt. I highly recommend Dr Baht and Orthopedic Surgical Associates.
Jennifer Allen: Dr Bhat is so kind. I have been a patient since 08. He has been a god send.He gives you as much time as you need to fully understand your condition and treatment options.
Jamie Laflamme: Dr. Bhat is incredibly talented doctor who has successfully helped me numerous times over the years. I have been referring friends & family members to him since 2006 and all have been just as happy with their results as I have been. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed if you choose Dr. Bhat to help you o your healing journey.
Ryan McNamara: He is a great person, explains everything he sees to you in plain language, easy to ask questions to, very helpful and a very nice man. Great doctor and great facility as well. Excellent all around.
Richard Grady: Do not go to Dr Bhat on mass production shots day..Thursday. I regretted it immensely. Gave the numbing agent 2 seconds to take affect then slammed me with the needle to the left lower part of my spine. Pain was intense. Then he did the other side but I was ready for him this time..All the while doing this freehand..no xray machine hence no contrast so he couldn't see exactly where to put it.The shots did NOT work. DO NOT GO TRUST ME!
Jessica Bolduc: Dr Bhat is truly amazing. I had herniated a disc in my back and was in so much pain I couldn’t even pick up my baby which was heartbreaking. After going to 2 different chiropractors who were unable to help or even alleviate any of my pain, I made the decision to contact Dr Bhat. They scheduled me to be seen right away and even expedited getting me scheduled for an MRI. After diagnosis my issue, he even made time during his lunch to give me a cortisone shot which helped me drastically. The amount of effort and overall concern to get me well made my unfortunate experience better. Dr Bhat is an amazing as a person as well as an incredible doctor. I’m forever grateful for his help.
Bobby Brown: Dr. Bhat is the best. Been seeing him for some time and he is always accommodating and genuine. Will go out of his way to provide the best care and care that feels specific for me.
Lizzette Mercado: I can't express enough how grateful I am that I found Dr. Bhat nearly 10 years ago. I injured a nerve when I was in the Army. For a whole year I dealt with pain in my lower back and numbness going down my left leg. After some imaging, we discovered that my only relief would be cortisone shots. Dr. Bhat listened to my concerns and provides excellent feedback and works with you to get the relief you need. My injections are by no means pleasant but Dr. Bhat is precise, thorough, and gets to the injury swiftly
madeline nolan: Dr Bhat and his staff were so kind and caring. I had an ablation on my neck, not the most comfortable procedure but they were very comforting and got me through.
Jason Willett: If I could vote 10 stars I would. This was my first appointment at this office and it was as painless as my hip is now. 😃 When I arrived at the office I was only in the waiting room for 5 minutes and in the exam room 5 minutes. Dr. Bhat looked at my x ray and came up with a plan right away. He gave me a cortisone injection to treat my bursitis. Fantastic personal experience here!! The only issue is that I was unaware that the injection site pain would make walking even more painful than it was. 2 days later I forgot I even had hip pain. I wish I would've done this much sooner.
adel: I have a lot of problem in my back herniated disc’s touching the nerves bad pain , numbness in my legs and l5 slept 8.9 mm from s1 all what I get from him nothing to do
J R: I recently had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. Bhat...... he is soft spoken and very kind. I have been dealing with a back/neck but mostly shoulder issue. He recently gave me a cortisone injection under X-ray which I was told is very painful but he was amazing! That night and much of the next day was uncomfortable but by that next night a miracle happened , I was able too sleep I can lift my arm. I’m so grateful ! Thank you to Dr. Bhat and his radiology team, great job! Thank you for having such patience with me!
Miray Bou-Nassif: Where do I start? I don’t leave reviews on anything, but HAD to do this one!!!! There aren’t enough good things to say about Dr. Bhat Atul. I am a young professional, under the age of 30, in a great fitness shape. In March of 2021 I had the WORST back pain I could’ve ever imagined. I couldn’t walk, stand, sit or even sleep. I called Dr. Bhat’s office and they had me in their office within 24 hours. His staff are so kind and welcoming. They took an x-ray and within minutes I was seen by the Dr. I explained my pain and concerns, they referred me to get an MRI. Within 48 hours, I was seen again and they gave me hope. I got two Injections and I am so happy with the results. Dr. Bhat, you saved me. I was starting to lose hope after seeing many PTs, Chiropractors and other doctors for the last THREE YEARS. Their solution was just to “stretch, Massage and sit up straight, don’t workout, don’t snowboard, no X-ray or MRI necessary”. Dr. Bhat understood my pain and knew exactly what I was feeling without having to finish most of my sentences. I am forever grateful for you! I am so happy to be able to walk straight again and workout, lift weights and live a normal healthy life like any young person should, and not be restricted ! I 10000% recommend him. Thank you to Dr. Bhat and team!!!
Ra Ocasio: Watching my wife suffer from enjoying everyday activities is very worrisome.. meeting Dr Bhatt for the first time was so reassuring the way he explained the back procedure and the compassion he had for my wife .Seeing her so uncomfortable he squeezed her In his schedule and we appreciate it very much!!😀
Nature's Alternative: My name is Eric F.,I started seeing Doctor Bhat for an injury I got at work on March 4th. I've seen alot of doctors over the years, and I can honestly say Doctor Bhat is professional, took the time to listen and address my concerns. Most doctor's I've seen have made me feel I am just a number. The experience I've had with Doctor Bhat was quite the opposite. He made me feel as though he was genuinely invested in my overall well being, and wanted to give me the best treatment he could provide!

Dr. David J. Prybyla, MD: what do users think?
Catherine Watts: Dr Prybyla is the doctor you want to see for any hip or knee issues and would be fabulous for a second opinion. I have found in the past that orthopedic surgeons can sometimes be overly confident to the point of being cocky. This is certainly not the case with Dr. Prybyla. He listens to the concerns of his patient, is compassionate, competent, thorough, and will always act in the best interest of his patient. I received an accurate diagnosis from him this past June and because of some extenuating circumstances had my hip replaced at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. I saw Dr Prybyla, however, for my follow up upon returning to Massachusetts. I have total confidence in his knowledge and professionalism. I have recommended him highly to friends. You will not be disappointed with the care and attention you receive from this doctor. He is backed up by a very competent and friendly office staff as well. If you are looking for a good hip and knee orthopedic, start here!Catherine
Matthew Blute: Best knee surgeon!
Stanley Burba: My appointment with Dr Prybyla was in April of 2013 for severe hip pain. I was seen within several days of calling his office and was quite surprised by the professionalism of his office staff. I had many concerns prior to my visit and all my questions and anxieties were quickly answered. Dr Prybyla took the time to explain my condition and all options for surgery and the recovery phase to follow. My surgery was non eventful with a quick recovery at Lowell general and on to rehab. for one week. My healing process went so well that I was off the walker within 10 days. Pain control was excellent, I was able to be free of pain pills within 2 1/2 weeks. I was in pain for six months before with minimal sleep and condition getting worse. I had the surgery and now I am able to walk, sleep without pain. I would recommend Dr. Prybyla to anyone thinking of hip surgery without reservation. I made an excellent choice to solve my problem and have been recommending Dr Prybyla to my family and friends.

Dr. Scott A. Sigman, M.D.: what do users think?
Maxwell Shippen: I am a local Physical Therapist with Direct Access Therapy. I have been treating for roughly 7 years in the Merrimack Valley. I have seen a lot of the local surgeons work and the patients recovery. Dr. Sigman's patients always have the fastest recoveries and best results. His patients heal fast and with less pain with his bovine patch compared to other rotator cuff repairs. Beyond his surgical skills, I always hear great things about his bedside manner and that he is very personable. I recommend him without hesitation to all of my current patients who need shoulder surgery. Put it this way, as the person in healthcare who see's the post op recovery and results of a lot of the surgeries, I would go to Dr. Sigman if I needed shoulder surgery.
Nick Wells-Bundtzen: Dr. Sigman performed an ACL revision surgery accompanied by a medial meniscectomy on my right knee in September. This being my third ACL (did my left in high school) surgery, is by far the best. He used a cadaver graft but gave me option for hamstring or quad tendon. I had already exhausted my patella tendon in previous reconstruction with a different surgeon. Given my age and activity level - workout, golf, skiing - the cadaver was the best option. He assured me the cartilage in my knee was still quite good, in spite of previous assessment by other professionals. The pain level , swelling and thus far ‘tracking’ / strength in the knee is superior to my last by miles and I have no doubt I’ll make a full recovery far superior to my last. Physical therapy twice a week and lots of in home strengthening has aided the process along.I Highly recommend Dr Sigman and Orthopedic Surgical Associates.UPDATE :ACL graft tore with very little force. New Ortho (won't name names) said the sigman graft was drilled too vertically and drilled too anteriorly.
Kyle Kadish: Referred to Dr Sigman for shoulder issues. Was fascinated by how orderly and efficient every office visit was. Surgery was a more progressive procedure, with a speedy recovery that has surprised everyone, including the Physical Therapist.
Joe Meehan: Ive been waiting a year to write a review. To see how my shoulder progressed with a newer procedure. I had surgery October of last year. First off I want to say Dr. Sigman and his staff were excellent. I had a tear in my rotator cuff. I got the rotator cuff patch surgery. I had almost full rotation 2 weeks after surgery. The pain was minimal. Full recovery was around 6 months. To this day I have zero pain and full rotation. I’m very pleased with the outcome of this procedure.
Carrie Baker: I put off having a full knee replacement as it was one of the most frightening options I had for my bone on bone knee pain. Finally I decided to move forward with the surgery. Dr Sigman and his staff were all fantastic from the planning stage and thru post surgery. I was afraid of taking pain killers and the recovery process. Dr Sigman had recommended a few things to prepare for the surgery and to manage the post surgery pain. I had the iovera treatment which must have played a role in my speedy recovery. I only had to take oxycodone (pain med) for 3 days post surgery and then was able to go to Tylenol/Motrin rotation to manage the pain. I was walking with 1 crutch at the 3 week mark! The scar was minimal considering the scope of the surgery. I would never do the surgery with anyone but Dr. Sigman he is simply the best as far as I am concerned!
Jim Bivona: After a failed repair from another surgeon in another group, I decided to have Dr. Sigman perform the total knee replacement based on my research of the different surgical systems and watching Dr. Sigman's You Tube Video. I felt the Trumatch system was the the most accurate for installing the prosthesis. Dr. Sigman, Christen his NP, and the rest of the staff in the office and Surgical Center were very thorough, professional and overall fantastic. After only 2 weeks I was walking without a cane or a crutch. The incision scar is going to be minimal compared to friends who have had a similar surgery. I couldn't be happier with results and progress returning to normal activities which will be skiing this winter! I am actually looking forward to getting my other knee replaced in the spring.
Lisa Wright: Dr. Sigman repaired my son's meniscus on July 15th after and he was excellent. Great bedside manner, happy guy and know what he's doing. My son started driving again 5 days later and now, not even 3 weeks later, he's taking short hikes in the white mountains. Amazing! Thanks so much Dr. Sigman and great staff.
Rick May: My daughter was having an issue with her shoulder dislocating. Dr. Sigman was highly recommended to us and he did not disappoint. He explained the surgery in detail that was needed to correct the issue as well as the timeline for rehabilitation. Everthing went as Dr. Sigman said it would and my daughter has been cleared to resume all activities. My family is very Thankful for the care that Dr. Sigman provided to our daughter.
Nupur Patel: Thank you, Dr. Sigman for replacing my mom's knee a few years back. Your valuable service brought an unexpected joy during our mini vacation. Our plan was for her to rest in the parking area during this 800 ft hill hike. She was of a mind that she would go as high as she could and rest there. Once on the route, she was unstoppable. She was too curious to learn about the view that everyone was talking about. She persisted and her knees helped her reach the top. We feel blessed to have you as her surgeon and the staff at LGH during rehab.
Amy Bicchieri: Amazing surgeon! One week after surgery, the pain isn’t too bad. Highly Recommend!
Judith Binette: Dr Sigman and his staff are amazing! My surgical experience could not have gone better. My recovery process is going great and I attribute that to the excellent surgical skills of the doctor. Would highly recommend. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!
John Terruso: I am very happy with the services provided to me with my rotator cuff surgery. I highly suggest Dr. Sigman and trust him 100%. I was very exact of what was going to happen and what the end result was cannot ask for a better doctor. Along with the surgery and the laser treatment he had suggested I wouldn’t be where I am now. Been three months after my surgery it feels almost at 100% like I never had a problem to begin with. The state of the art cow patch that he suggested was much better than friends that had gone to traditional way. After I told them of my experience and how it went I second-guessed themselves of the route they took.
Julie Chasse: I was in a car accident weeks ago. My in home pt suggested cold laser therapy with Dr Sigman. When I called to make the appointment, her first priority with the “not so nice” secretary was “ No insurance covers the cold laser “ a bit to sternly as far as I’m concerned. Also, had to call back multiple times and was finally told my info was sent to a different Dr. for neck pain. She hadn’t listened to a single word I said requesting cold laser.I’ve been housebound for about 8 weeks, and unable to drive due to lack of range of neck motion. So today I finally had a scheduled appointment and had to find a friend to drive me.I arrived in Drum Hill for my appointment. I saw the lady at the desk and gave her my name and date of birth multiple times. I even handed her the orders from my pt, to make sure she understood the correct last name and date of birth. She looked in her computer for two or three minutes and said she had absolutely no information on me and I wasn’t in her system. I told her it was for laser and she said oh your in the wrong place and verified I had enough time to make it to the other facility. I arrived on Chelmsford Street and once again... a problem. I realize and admit I had the time wrong, but since they sent me driving around for a half hour due to lack of caring about their patient, I’m too sore to return. * had I been told of the error, I simply would have admitted it was my error and returned. The problem, however, was no one gave a @)&$: I was driving around in pain, or had a clue what they were doing( nor did they care)I have absolutely no intention of returning, if they only care about the money and can’t figure out my information as a patient.... right out of the gate. How on earth would I expect them to get ten OUT OF POCKET visits right ?I just called the operator to verify I will not be billed for today. And of course....transferred to voice mailWouldn’t take my dog to this place. Save your money. It’s their only concern. In pain from being sent driving around all morning for nothing ! You’ll find me on the couch with my heating pad, as my hands are now numb from their lack of patient concern!!
LINDA MCKENZIE: During COVID I could not have surgery because it was considered elective. I was in #10 pain. When I first saw him the Iovera treatment was offered. I had the procedure and my pain went from 10 to 0. The treatment lasts about 3 months. I strongly recommend this procedure for knee pain. It is not permanent but you do get pain relief. I have had 3 Iovera treatments and all successful. Recently I waited too long and I had to wait for the treatment to be scheduled. I got a cortisone shot and 2 vials of liquid taken from my knee. Between that and the Iovera treatment my pain is 0 again. I use a walker for safety until my surgery in July. I can’t wait.I have full confidence with his entire team. I will let you know when my surgery is done how it went.
Mark Donahue: Fantastic experience. I was very confident with Dr Sigman’s knowledge and skill. The surgery went better than ai hoped. No pain at all! No opiods needed. I also followed up with treatment at OrthoLaser to reduce swelling. I can not recommend Dr Sigman enough!
Janet S: When I started my treatment at OrthoLazer my pain level in my hand was a good nine out of ten, I could not even hold my pen. I noticed relief on the first treatment, and it just got better after that. I had 6 treatments in all, and I am pain free!! I am just blown away!! I would recommend this treatment 100%
Laurel Reveley: Right from the very beginning Dr. Sigman was wonderful. I felt well informed, able to make my own decisions and in qualified hands. One of the best. Even with all the challenges of Covid. Surgery went better then expected. I definitely recommend taking advantage of Ortho Lazer. It made healing process much easier. Plus you can barely see scars. Best part is I am able to ski. I would absolutely recommend Dr.Sigman.
Kim Bourque: My son had knee arthroscopy, knee chondroplasty, a patella femoral ligament allograft reconstruction and almost immediately after surgery he was barely in any pain. Dr. Sigman is a doctor that believes surgery can be done opiate free. One week post op and my son is walking, pain free, starting to get decent range of motion, all of this opiate free! Dr. Sigman is a very knowledgeable doctor, down to earth, and answers any questions with great information and compassion. I recommend him to EVERYONE!
Sara Lavoie: Dr. Sigman did my first knee surgery at 17 years old (I played many sports but the main influencers were hockey and dance) my second surgery was 2 years later. My knees started acting up again really bad about a year ago and for the last couple months it has become intolerable pain so when my primary care doctor asked if I had an orthopedic surgeon I immediately said yes I do and I don’t want to see ANYONE ELSE. He is awesome he actually listens to what you have to say because YOU know your body best. I can’t wait to see him again he was awesome
Alicia Grand: Dr. Sigman is awesome, I have had many issues with my knees growing up from sports and a car accident. My doctor moved away and I was unable to find someone like her until I had a new injury to my knee this year. He has given me a multiple of different options to take care of my knee as well as help me stay in work during covid when he was unable to repair. I had surgery last week and he was wonderful, my follow-up apt was great, and he has provided me with at home exercises as well as laser treatments. They ladies at the laser treatment center are great as well, and after just one treatment I have seen a difference. Surgery has change so much over the years and I am grateful to have him and his team as my doctor.
Kat Stewart: Dr. Sigmund put did a complete repair of my rotator cuff and the results are stunning my friends. in one month I can already reach over my head
