Alexander Clarke: These guys were awesome. I ordered a pair of glasses online from a different company(I know not the smartest move) and the lenses weren't cut properly. Thoren optical was able to cut the lense down and make it fit the frame for me. Great service and didn't give me to much grief for buying online. I'll definitely be back for my next pair.

My toddler rolled over on my eye glasses and broke a temple. My glasses were from overseas so I wouldn’t be able to contact the manufacturer/ company. I went to another optical office and was told they didn’t have the right replacement part to fix it. I thought I’d have to get brand new eye glasses. But, I stopped by Edmund’s Opticians one morning to see if they could help me with my eye glass repair. The owner was so extremely nice. He went to see what extra parts he had available and helped me replace the broken temple with no charge. I can’t thank him enough! Thank you Ed!

Free Country: My grandfather gave me a pair of aviator sunglasses that were issued to him in the MA State Police during the 1950's. I had them for months and couldn't figure out how to repair the nose pads as they were an older design that wasn't used anymore in modern sunglasses. I had already tried another place who told me they couldn't fix them when I finally brought them into Edmund's Opticians. Ed took them, and 10 minutes later returned from the back with the glasses repaired and looking like new! I was so happy. I asked him what I owed him and would you believe that he did it for free!? I was so surprised by that. It's not often you run into a business that is this knowledgeable and helpful and I am so glad I went in here! Thank you to Edmund's Opticians!!!

They don’t need or want my business and walked right out. I should let my doctor know so he doesn’t recommend that other patients go there.

Jomama: The Optical Shoppe at Baystate Eye Care is THE BEST. All the opticians are extremely friendly and know their stuff. I did say opticians - none of the employees there are sales people. (Credentials on the wall.) I never feel pressured to buy things I don't want or need and their recommendations are right on target. I can tell they really care about what they do. They have saved me more than once when my glasses were broken and didn't just try to sell me something. They actually spent time to repair my glasses (that I didn't think were fixable) so I didn't have to buy new glasses AND never charge for repairs! You will not regret coming to this shop.

whatmustido: Make sure you're paying for the frames you actually want.I had my vision test here and it was fine, but the old lady switched out the frames I wanted for a "wider size". The way it was framed, I thought I was just testing a different size, but those ended up being the ones I paid for and got a week later.It's not the doctors fault but I feel completely scammed.

Dr. Tonn (Dr. Tonn): Dr. Andrews was great. He was very informative, engaging and seemed to genuinely care about his patients. But, I give this place a two stars because of one of his assitants who seemed abrupt and borderline rude.The doctor was telling me to try some contact samples when this assistant just barged in without knocking and yelled out, 'He's only here for glasses!'. He must have been listening at the door, on top of not knocking before entering.Then, when I was finished with the exam, this assistant ushered me to the back of the store (with my contacts off so I could barely see), and curtly told me to put my contacts in because I was done. I had questions about the visit, but I didn't even feel comfortable asking because he was rushing me out.I would only recommend this place if that assistant wasn't there. (I don't think this person was part of the sales staff. He seemed to have been the doctor's assistant. The sales staff was fine.)
