(Credentials on the wall.) I never feel pressured to buy things I don't want or need and their recommendations are right on target. I can tell they really care about what they do. They have saved me more than once when my glasses were broken and didn't just try to sell me something. They actually spent time to repair my glasses (that I didn't think were fixable) so I didn't have to buy new glasses AND never charge for repairs! You will not regret coming to this shop.

Teri Szlosek: First experience very good. Went back 2 years later for new script and frames, experience not good. Took forever to get glasses in and were wrong size and tried to get me to accept a was after i had specified the only reason i was changing was i needed larger area of eye glass. Also had a very bad experience with the man on the phone who rudely kept talking over me when calling to check on status of delivery of corrected glasses and i couldn't even get my question asked never mind answered.
Event horizon: I got my eye glasses here many years ago, I hope it is just as good when I go back soon as it was then.

Thought everything was good...people were nice....left the office and got home and realized they never gave me any trial packs of contacts. Called back and they said they don't carry them in stock and they'd have to order them. WHAT EYE PLACE DOESN'T CARRY TRIAL LENSES IN STOCK?!?!?!?! Returned to the office becuase the woman said I could have my money back if I didn't like it....went there and after arguing with me-she said it was actually only one day to order. So WHY she didn't tell me that over the phone-I have no idea. I refuse to drive back AGAIN-for a third time- just to pick up lenses. Will NEVER go back.Update...(not that there should even BE one when it's been less than a couple hours since I wrote the first review-BUT...) Tried to go somewhere else, and despite this place guaranteeing me that they didn't charge my insurance and there would be no problems-they DID! Now I can't do anything at all until they reverse the charges and cancel it all out. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!
Barbara Plante: While we liked one of the doctors we saw, the other one was completely unresponsive to what I was trying to explain to him. The office then messed up my contact lens order not once, but twice, and then made reordering my daughter's contacts a nightmare. When I tried to order the lenses online, they denied the prescription, saying it had expired, when it was less than a year old. We will never go back there again.

Minh Le: Customer service at this local small business is exceptional! I definitely recommend anyone to come here for all their optical needs and service. My toddler rolled over on my eye glasses and broke a temple. My glasses were from overseas so I wouldn’t be able to contact the manufacturer/ company. I went to another optical office and was told they didn’t have the right replacement part to fix it. I thought I’d have to get brand new eye glasses. But, I stopped by Edmund’s Opticians one morning to see if they could help me with my eye glass repair. The owner was so extremely nice. He went to see what extra parts he had available and helped me replace the broken temple with no charge. I can’t thank him enough! Thank you Ed!
Free Country: My grandfather gave me a pair of aviator sunglasses that were issued to him in the MA State Police during the 1950's. I had them for months and couldn't figure out how to repair the nose pads as they were an older design that wasn't used anymore in modern sunglasses. I had already tried another place who told me they couldn't fix them when I finally brought them into Edmund's Opticians. Ed took them, and 10 minutes later returned from the back with the glasses repaired and looking like new! I was so happy. I asked him what I owed him and would you believe that he did it for free!? I was so surprised by that. It's not often you run into a business that is this knowledgeable and helpful and I am so glad I went in here! Thank you to Edmund's Opticians!!!

They don’t need or want my business and walked right out. I should let my doctor know so he doesn’t recommend that other patients go there.

Angela Bosak: After severe eye pain and being misdiagnosed with stressed induced migraines by my neurologist, I was able to get in on an emergency basis with Dr. Quartz. Turns out, they weren't due to stressed induced migraines. When I came in, my eye pressure was through the roof. I was instantly referred to Dr. Mutlukan. Thank you Dr. Quartz for this referral. Dr. Mutlukan is the only doctor that has been able to help me. I have seen several neurologists for a condition which nobody has an answer to. I starting seeing him in 2021. He is extremely thorough. After being diagnosed with glaucoma at the age of 38, Dr. Mutlukan has gone above and beyond to try to help me with my other neurological conditions. He has spent his time and has been very patient with me, often ordering blood work and recently a PET scan. He has worked closely with me and has continued to manage my glaucoma and various other symptoms. He is better than any neuro-ophthalmologist in Boston. He is knowledgeable and skilled at what he does. Dr. Mutlukan and Dr. Quartz are by far, the most intelligent doctors and they make an amazing team. Staff is amazing too. A special thanks to Sandy, you help me everytime I call.

Nicholas Nogueira: I love going to 16 Acre Optical! I always feel very welcomed when I am there. The staff is great. Jose is one of the nicest people I’ve dealt with in customer service. He is very personable and makes sure you feel comfortable in the office. The pads on my frames fell off, so he put new ones on without me even asking. Dustin is also very helpful; he made sure that I was getting the most out of my insurance for my glasses. Originally through my insurance, it would've taken two weeks for my new glasses to come in, but he made a call to get them in 4-5 business days. I couldn’t go two weeks without glasses, so he made sure to help me out anyway he could. I appreciate how much they care about the customer and I will continue going to 16 Acre Optical for as long as I can.

During my exam I told the doctor I was having trouble seeing the letters clearly, I was told just tell me what you remember them being. Then was told to hurry up and read the letters so he could see the next patient so he could get going home. GO ANYWHERE ELSE.

Lots of ppl are not comfortable talking finances out in the open the way they’re set up. The girls are NOT discreet at all. It’s sad because the practice itself is good.

Joshua Johnson: Absolute waste of time. Do no under any circumstances schedule with this place. I waited 4 weeks, to receive a check in email confirmation yesterday, show up at the store and the technician is on vacation. Counter lady even said she had tons of people walking in the day before. No notice of rescheduling, no indication to not take time off work and show up. Absolute waste of time, money and energy, steer clear.
Eva Howard: Walked into Costco to get my glasses fixed that I had just broken; walked out less than 10 minutes later with my prescription lenses in a new identical frame. I couldn’t ask for a better customer service experience!
Kathy N.: The eye doctor at this location is not part of Costco and the appointment system is by telephone. I called today at 11:25 to make an appointment and was told I could have an appointment for noon. I hurried over to Costco, only to discover that the optometrist had called out that day and apparently nobody at the appointment center knew that. The counter people apologized a lot, but because the exam department is independent from Costco, they have no control over it. So should I call again to make an appointment for a different day only to find perhaps a similar result? I think not. Costco Optical, you just lost a potential customer.

Sean .D: The mark of a great doctors office does not rest on the shoulders of the business owner alone.When the entire staff are patient, friendly, attentive, and engaged, it makes the difference between 'just another doctors office' and somewhere you want to revisit again. The fact that they're located in West Side is just icing on the cake.Silhouette frames are one of the most expensive brands out there, but my current frames have lasted me over 12 years, effectively costing me less than buying cheapies year after year. Highly recommend for visually-impaired humans.
