Robin Reynolds: So happy my family found this gym. After a horrible experience with another gym, my son left feeling defeated. Now he comes home with his head up high and great reviews. My daughter loves the structure and discipline. My kids loves Coach Max and he is so great with the kids At competition both Coach Max and Dan were present and helped my son immensely. It was a great feeling seeing their support for my son. Go here if you want dedicated coach's who care about their students.

Rebecka Mailea: My family had been attending classes with this dojo for over seven years and we still love it!! The staff is motivated and dedicated to the growth of its students. They care about each student, regardless of age or skill level and take the time to understand the needs of everyone. They encourage the children to be good people in their everyday lives and give them the skills needed to be able to achieve it.The dojo is more than just a place to learn judo, it has allowed our family to build bonds and meaningful relationships with many other families who attend the classes. The relationships and skills that my children have gained from this dojo will last them a lifetime.

The staff and instructors are fantastic and all work really well under the leadership of Shihan Luis Soto, who brings next level education in the martial arts and mentorship for life. Both my son and I enjoy the classes at the Dojo and love everything about it. With the stay in place guidelines, Shihan Soto has made it a priority to create fun classes that keep all of us at our best.I highly recommend checking it out. You will be amazed of what you can learn about yourself.
Amy Kenadek: I highly recommend this dojo to anyone looking for a fun Kids Martial Arts class. My kids started taking classes here over a year ago and they absolutely love it! I personally love knowing my daughter is learning self defense while having fun and staying active. They also look forward to seeing all the new friends they have made in class. When you join, you feel like family. The instructors are great with the kids, keeping them engaged and are extremely knowledgeable. Conveniently located on Shrewsbury St. in Worcester too!
Tong Vo: Both of our kids love Worcester Judo Academy since they started taking Judo lessons here over a year ago. Dojo is spacious, lots of room for kids to practice. Sensei are top notch. Kids are taught by multiple Sensei during the hour. Sensei Luis started online classes during government shutdown for over a month so far and the kids loved it. They look forward to class every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Thank you to all Sensei that taught Judo to our kids.

Maria Chaisson: My son has been going to New Horizon for almost a year and half now, and it's been amazing to see his progression. Jim offers a nice blend of fun and discipline, technique and character building. The classes are small enough to allow for one on one teaching as well as practice with other students, which builds a nice camaraderie with the other kids. We've had such a great experience with New Horizon and would recommend to anyone thinking about exploring martial arts activities.
Megan Leary: I wish I could give 10 stars because New Horizon deserves all 10 of them! My son has been attending classes here for a little less than a year and has had a fantastic experience. As a family with NO martial arts background, we appreciate that Master Alty has taken the time to teach not only my son, but us as well. Both he and Master Anderson teach the classes with the perfect balance of seriousness and fun. As a parent I appreciate that the teachers expect and demand that the students exhibit the same respect that they are given. I highly recommend New Horizon Karate and More to anyone who is interested in classes that are both fun and well-structured.
Janice Machado: Great class! The teacher is excellent with children. He teaches them structure, discipline, and skills while maintaining a very fun and engaging atmosphere! The families who come are all so friendly and happy to see their children learning and smiling. It helps that the instructor has an extensive experience teaching children who need behavioral support because nothing surprises him and he’s always ready to redirect in a clear and kind manner.
Savii Cheryl: If you want your child to be treated like a soldier in the army, then sure enroll them here. If you want your child to be treated with compassion/respect, then don’t. I get that this is a small business, but it has big repercussions on the children that are a part of it. This façade of being ADD/Autism friendly is a joke. I’m a parent of a former student, and my 13 yr old daughter was told to stop talking and do push ups as a form of punishment after she said hi to Jim as he walked into the dojo. So rude and uncalled for. Children deserve to be treated with human decency.

She has learned so much already and is excited for more!! The communication is amazing, classes are well structured and the staff is very professional and friendly especially Jim. Jillian Joseph: My 5-year-old son has been attending classes at New Horizon for a couple of months now, and he loves it! Jim is wonderful with the kids, focusing on self-sufficiency and respect in addition to the physical training of karate. He sends out newsletters and updates on progress regularly. The schedule is great and there are classes every day of the week. It's been a great experience for us as parents and also for our son!
Jon Luzzo: I went to New Horizon Karate while in college for Jujitsu and absolutely loved it. The teaching style and environment is very comfortable and effective, and even at that time I noticed how amazing Jim is with the younger students. Now that I am a parent, I am happy to be sending my son there and he just loves it. It has helped reduce his anxiety during the pandemic, provided him with a means of healthy exercise/activity, and is constructively building his confidence. I also appreciate the compliance with pandemic precautions and the dojo is always kept very clean. I highly recommend New Horizon for both children and adults!

With their flexible model for his age group, he has been going up to 3 times a week if our schedule allows. The Sat schedule has changed a few times so you need to keep on top of it - but they are always very accommodating. My family would recommend this experience for any young child wanting to learn in a comfortable environment!

My daughter struggles with impulsivity during group activities and has been able to succeed in the karate program here. The instructors exercise a lot of patience and positive reinforcement but are also firm in emphasizing karate technique, safety, self-control and respect! I highly recommend New Horizon Karate!

With the gentle funny guidance of Master Alty, my son, now 10, is almost a black belt in Kempo and a 2nd degree brown belt in jujitsu. New Horizons is a great family atmosphere and a great activity to help your child(ren) grow and learn focus, strength, and discipline. The one place my son always wants to go to!

M F: My son attends class once a week and he loves it. They do an amazing job with all the kids keeping them engaged and teaching them to respect one another. I would highly recommend you take advantage of the one free class, I’m sure your child will love it. The staff is very accommodating.
Jonathan Waddell: I took fred villaris for 5 years as a kid and this is about as useful as a three dollar bill. I've met fred villari. He's just Ron Jeremy in a Gi. All the demonstrations are staged and completely useless in combat situations. Buy a brick. It's more useful for a fraction of the price.
