Emily: We called for a clogged pipe at our single family home and upon arrival we were told we would be charged as a commercial building and have to pay commercial building rates rather than residential. It was an emergency and a holiday so we really had no choice. The technician had us leave to go to Home Depot to purchase the parts needed for the job ourselves. In the process, the technician damaged a water pipe which was then leaking water profusely when it had not been before, and left without repairing it or patching it. They also left the entire mess of the clog spewed all over our floors and walls which you can imagine stank. We called Roto-Rooter back and they apologized and said they would send someone else out to help with the leaking pipe. Upon this technicians arrival he states immediately, “I’m not a plumber, there’s nothing I can do.” We were left with the leaking pipe pouring water that we had to empty 5-gallon buckets every 45 minutes all evening and overnight until we could get a local plumber to come in the morning after the holiday. Not only were we charged a much higher rate for being a commercial building at our house, more damage was caused than we started with and were told that Roto-Rooter couldn’t help us. v cora: They came out same day at the time I needed the person they sent was great and friendly as well as resourcesful but the company is high priced had I had time to choose a more fair priced company i would have. It was a 15 min service call they charge flat rates and for a clogg in the main drain that was not dificultad they do charge 930 due to the 24/7 service I understand the price being higher but at almost a thousand dollar was a hefty cost.
