O Ya: what do users think?
Junji Morokuma: If you understand what O Ya means, this is exactly what we have experienced tonight. Literally a What?! taste palette explosion on top of very tasty Japanese seafood dishes and absolutely further more. Of course you would dine here every day. However, the jolt of your much needed and unexpected experience beyond already delicious Japanese seafood is right here, and only so.
Ava French: O YA is an exceptional restaurant that offers a unique and unforgettable dining experience. The restaurant’s ambiance is elegant and sophisticated, and the food is absolutely outstanding. The dishes are beautifully presented, and the flavors are perfectly balanced, making each bite a tantalizing experience for your taste buds. But what really sets O YA apart is the outstanding service provided by their servers, and in particular, the amazing server Jessica. Jessica is a true professional, and her knowledge of the menu and the sake is truly impressive. She is attentive, friendly, and goes out of her way to ensure that your dining experience is nothing short of perfect. She is a true asset to the restaurant, and we highly recommend that you request her as your server when you dine at O YA.Overall, we highly recommend O YA for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in Boston. The food, ambiance, and service are all outstanding, and the restaurant is truly a gem in the heart of the city.

Rue D: Not worth. Our waitress was unpleasant and the food was not worth the price point. Came here based on the good reviews hoping for a good experience and left underwhelmed.
Lenny Euler: NOT WORTH. I have enjoyed quite a bit of fantastic sushi in NYC. O Ya is not even close. You deserve so much more for $300. This is not it.Let's start with the (few) positives. Much of the sashimi was decent, the mushrooms + "potato chip nigiri" were fun, desserts were good. If they charged $100 for this half of the menu I wouldn't object.HOWEVER -- Nigiri were entirely disappointing. Miniscule portions, which is not a problem per se, but the nibbles of fish were so overwhelmed by the extra ingredients that you hardly tasted them. Uni nigiri had the criminal addition of large pieces of lemon zest, which overwhelmed the delicate flavors of the uni completely.Ambiance and service were not what you would expect of a high end sushi restaurant. Not unfriendly, but felt more like a bar. Also, although food was prepared directly in front of us at the counter, it took a circuitous route back through the kitchen, rather than being served fresh by the chefs. For $300, you can literally travel to NYC and back and get better omakase for half the price. Don't bother with O Ya
Steven M: Loved it
Javier Rosa: Great food, good vibes, great service!
Megan Sorel: Food was insanely good. Wide selection of sake, whisky and other liqueur. Great atmosphere, amazing staff.

Monir Monir: In the pantheon of fine meals there’s great and there’s those that transcend greatness and indelibly stamp themselves on your brain. O Ya is among the latter. Among the offerings some integrated caviar, sea urchin and wrapped up with a wagyu beef course. Our waiter was fantastic. He was very helpful with our sake pairings. I like to go nuts with my credit card on anniversary dinners and O Ya was worth every penny. I would gladly go back and it’s a must try for anybody who loves sushi.
Genwyn: An amazing experience in the heart of Boston. The service was enjoyable and lively, the food was divine, and the drinks kept flowing.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Betsy Feldman: Amazing flavorsBeautiful presentationEverything perfectWonderful, entertaining evening with much personal attentionOur waiter, Tim, made the show perfect.Haven’t seen a real professional waiter in a very long time; knowledgeable, informative, well versed, helpful ……. can’t say enough about this guy!Only feedback would be to change spoons; they are textured and too thick getting in the way of the food. If that is the only criticism from me, O Ya is right up there with the best of the best. It was an awesome evening!!!!Thanks to everyone on the O Ya team (and I mean “team”) for making my niece’s 59th birthday extra special.Betsy FeldmanVegetarian options: One guest in my party has dietary restrictions and another just a few dislikes/preferences. Oishii Boston: what do users think?
Ben Pry: The food and atmosphere at this restaurant is amazing. They Excel at using food preparation as an art form. I highly recommend this to anyone for a unique experience, but it is pretty pricey for what you get and I don't come here very often.
Scott H: Had dinner a few nights ago, was ok but not much impressed. コスパよくないと思う。Chawanmushi - excellent 美味しいChuu toro - so so, had some tendon in it マーマーIkura - not great, the rice was soaked with egg goo.Hamachi - fine.Seaweed salad- ok. The seasoning was nice but seaweed not very fresh.Shrimp tempura roll- fineService - not great, for example waitress had no idea why I was asking about seasonal fish and didn’t care 旬の魚知らなかった. Phillip Tran: Had a great experience here both times I've been. Some really unique offerings such as the salmon on fire that have a gimmky presentation but also taste delicious. The fundamentals are great: good selection of sushi to choose from with high quality fish that breaks apart very easily in your mouth.I loved the savoriness of the squid ink pasta. Would definitely recommend this for first time patrons. Also very creative presentations for desert. And delicious too!

Celine Ann Trinidad: Unless you’re ready to spend, maybe Oishii is yet to be for you. If you have some to spare, then it’s definitely worth a try! Their sashimi is one of the freshest I had in Boston.Definitely on the pricier side, but once you’ve tried you’d know why. The effort for the vegetarian options are there, the Vegetarian Truffle maki is done creatively. For dessert, the Coconut Sphere has an interesting flavor profile that must NOT be missed.

Sam Jiang: For a $30 Seafood Udon Soup, I would expect more variety of good quality ingredients, but I got 10 small shrimps and some frozen imitation seafoods that you can get from any Asian market for less than $5. I would have walked out and went to any different places in south Boston for food with better price, but I was invited there by friends so did not want to be rude. I feel bad for my friends since she could have saved money.....
javier rivero: Great Japanese restaurant in Boston! Traditional Japanese cuisine, fresh ingredients, top ultra fresh quality, we love the sea urchin sashimi! Seafood risotto, and amazing deserts! The restaurant is cozy, private and with friendly staff…
Frankie Li: Service was awful. We(me and my friend) were assigned to a 6-seat table, then another waiter came and said we were in the wrong table, but this person said it was our fault to choose this table, and the attitude was rude.Food is normal, but price is high-end. Not worth it, AVOID!(unless you wanna have an experience about rude service&normal food with extremely high price.

Cafe Sushi: what do users think?
James C: It’s not NYC/LA quality, but possibly the best sushi in Boston/Cambridge.
Wusong Road: Best sushi quality for the price i the Boston area! The Shoten also has some great deals for takeaway—and if I can sneak home early some nights I love to grab something (not just sushi) from their takeaway counter
T Lieberman: Love the weeknight plattersFood: 5/5 …More

Sara G: Very disappointing for this price range, I do not recommend.
DLL: First rate sushi with unique, creative flavor combinations, made with love. By far the best sushi in the Boston / Cambridge area. Don't miss the Japanese market with sauces, snacks, and sake!Vegetarian options: Also with interesting vegetarian rolls and appetizersKid-friendliness: Special littles menu for kids
Jacob H: Exceptional
Antonio Victor Dos Santos Fortunato: Amazing food and drinks. The place was good too.
A K: Food: 56/80. Maybe it was a one off experience or because the restaraunt has switched to takeout only but the sushi that I got was not very good. The fish seemed a little hard/tough and the sushi overall had a slightly strange taste to it.Atmosphere/Service: N/A because takeout onlyRe-eatability: 8/15. The food is healthy but overall I wouldn't eat again because of the taste. Food was pretty expensive.Overall: 67.3/100. Wouldn't eat at again while it is takeout only but might give it a shot if they return to a dining in style as I have heard that it used to be much better when they did that.
Alyssa Neckorcuk: Used to be my favorite place in Cambridge for sushi - updating the review though because that was based on their in person experience. They are still to-go only as of April 2022, and unfortunately it isn’t the same as it used to be. The quality of their to go orders doesn’t compare to the omakase experience they used to have in person. It certainly isn’t bad, but what you get for the price isn’t near the experience level that the non-to-go used to be
Victoria Kuohung: Really just fallen in quality - sad. A ghost of its former self, and due in no small part to its continuing pandemic restrictions.
Jennifer Hickey: So we normally LOVE cafe sushi and they have been my favorite spot for years,l. But the last time we ordered from here all of our sushi rolls had wayyy too much rice. It was really disappointing because they are normally so good so hoping it was a one time fluke.
Chloe McKinley: Love this place! Super friendly service. I got the salmon sushi box for lunch and it might have been the best sushi I’ve ever had. Very fresh and almost buttery soft - it was great for the quantity and price. I can’t wait to return!
Al L.: Weekday special is great!
Belle T: Cafe Sushi 🍣 never disappoints!!! It’s my #1 pick for weekend to-go dinner! My favorite is the Salmon sushi and Chirashi bowls! ❤️ the miso soup too!
Fabrice Cancre: Excellent sushi to go
Cee NYC: Fresh great quality seafood at competitive pricing. Relaxed environment.Vegetarian options: Meatless sushi rolls
Joe Carstairs: Love this place
Derin Aksit: Great sushi options and fresh ingredients

Tora Japanese Restaurant: what do users think?
dongying jiang: The food is delicious.
Tiffany Zhu: Extremely bad experience. The waitress didn’t fill out the water, no soy sauce even we had seafood don, did not take the empty dish away, even when I give the tip, the waitress hold the machine tight and would not let me hold it??? So ridiculous. Bad food as well, gyu don is definitely something they bought from supermarket
Steven Nguyen: Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Guinea P.: The lady doesn’t seem to care. The soy sauce was all over my hand. No complaints about the food.
Eros _1: I believe the quality of the miso soup can determine if a restaurant is good or not, and the miso soup at Tora is rich but a little too salty. I would rather have a rich and salty miso soup over a watery and bland one. I had the Eel Don and it was pretty good no complaints nothing mind-blowing. Overall it’s a pretty good place especially for a quick bite👍🏻
Ido Simyoni: One of the best sushi I’ve tried in Boston . Had the torch salmon roll and spicy tuna crunch. Loved it so much that j can’t wait to get more. I only wish they had the poke bowls all day long and not just for lunch
Coco Jing:
Mandi Tahiraj: My friend and I found this spot on Instagram and our appetite for sashimi is practically insatiable. So of course it was on a must visit list on our trip to Boston. We went there mainly for their uni/ikura (sea urchin/salmon roe) bowl but sadly that was not available on our visit. So we opted for the prawn bowl, a sashimi combo bowl, and the negitoro bowl instead. At first glance, presentation is beautiful. In my opinion, the sashimi fish was ok. It’s good but not as fresh as I would have liked. My husband even said the fish was a little more fishy than sashimi at our usual spot. My favorite was definitely the prawns. They were super sweet and sticky, just the way prawns should be. The negitoro, which is minced fatty tuna, was interesting..It wasn’t as fatty as I would like and had quite a bit of iron taste. I doused quite a bit of soy sauce onto the bowl to help.I would go back to try the uni/ikura bowl if it’s available and get the prawns for sure.
Jose Velasco: Pound for pound king of sushi in Boston10/10
Ricardo Vergara: Great good.
Yu Chun Kuo: Best fish quality ever tasted for under $50A little pricy but worth the valueUpdate:Quality control is not well maintained, for both seafood and non seafood entries. The quality discrepancy is more noticeable on the hot entries. I have ordered the same dish for more than 10 times, and can confidently say that “add more pork/beef” option doesn’t guarantee more protein. One time I even requested the added portion on the side so I can confirm but was told this was not possible, which further supported my claim. My suggestion is that if you’re going to get the hot entries, don’t add more protein. Even so, you’re likely to get a small portion.
Lynn: Fresh food and fast delivery. Would recommend to all!
Vanessa Phillips: Tora is my favorite restaurant in Boston - I bring all my friends here when I have a chance (though there can be a wait if you go at a popular time since they don't take reservations). They have a lot of good food, but at this point I get the buta shogayaki don almost every time, would highly recommend if you're in the mood for something hearty/savory. Service is always nice and quick.
Sophie C: Wow! I ate here for the first time last week and it is now my new fav restaurant in Boston! Everything is incredibly fresh and tasty. I have been searching for a great simple and authentic sushi place for a while and I’ve found it! Soba salad and the sake don are my favorite.
Chen Kevin: Food: 4/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Michael B: My favorite sushi in all of boston. Amazing bang for your buck. I eat a lot of sushi & have tried many places. Compared to nicer spots like Zuma and Douzo, this place still takes the cake for me for a more casual night. Parking is hard and chinatown is chinatown though… but I still highly recommend whether you are dining in or getting take out.
Marie Gong: Recommended dishes Sashimi PlatterMore
lolkzm k: Wasn’t good as before , price significantly increased around $30 for a tuna don ,but quality drop way more than I expected. It used to be raw fresh Fatty tuna , but now it’s toasted because its quality. Portion was also smaller than two years ago. There’s many sushi place around.

Joce Noyes: Let the record show, Douzo Sushi has got me to eat 'seafood'. As someone who was raised by New Englanders, who broiled everything, and we never a fan of spices. I hated when it was fish night. Everything tasted bland, and fishy. The food here is delicious, and doesn't have that taste that makes you think you've made a massive mistake. I have yet to have a bad meal from here. My only compliant, and I tried octopus and the slices were so thick, I couldn't get thru them. Ask for thinly sliced next time, lesson learned. Thank you for getting me out of my comfort zone.
Y W: I deeply regret choosing this as my first meal in Boston. From Miso soup to wagyu, none of the dishes were tasty. If you're from a city with decent Japanese restaurants (like LA, Chicago, or major East Asia cities), avoid this place.
Felicia Andresen: The sushi was good but quite pricey!
trey higgins-alves: Love the menu it’s awesome to have pictures of each item like a catalog. Service and food was above and beyond.
Steve Chen: Pork katsu is a bit dry on the inside though the fried skin is well attached to it. Coppa pistachio is a great dessert. If you have some space in your stomach, definitely order it.However, my waiter is a bit non-responsive. Never really speak with me. He did everything in silence and made zero ey contacts.

James Sullivan: One of the best servers I've ever had at a sushi restaurant. And, some of the best chirashi I've ever had. Incredible for the price point.
TravelCat Supreme: The food is good. I found the staff to be pretentious. I was dining alone and was never offered a table in the restaurant area, only the bar. Apparently, dining alone is not worth an actual table with a real chair. The young woman with the blue hair who helped me in the bar area couldn't even bother to smile. She was MUCH friendlier to the two guys who also sat in the bar area. There is better service out there.
Ashton Laurent: Visited for my spouse's birthday recently. He went for a few sushi rolls, while I had a house salad and basic chicken teriyaki with fried rice. My salad (with dressing on the side, so it's not like it was anything but greens and fried onions on top!) somehow took far longer to get than my spouse's starters, and we needed to ask twice for it.His rolls were "alright" but my dinner was awful. The fried rice was gummy and sticky, and the chicken tasted and smelled like it was due for the garbage bin. I took a few bites but left the rest alone - I'm not looking to risk illness for overpriced, underwhelming chicken teriyaki. The service was okay, and the restaurant itself had a really confusing ambiance. Thankfully there are a hundred other restaurants in the area that can do it better.

Genki Ya - Boston: what do users think?
Olivia Marciano: Their food is great but we've been here three times and had poor service every time. They also like to BLAST pop music, any time of day, regardless of how crowded or empty it is. The atmosphere and service aren't really there for me, but the Genki Ya in Brookline on Harvard Ave has never disappointed. The food is great at both locations, though.
larry benjamin: Horrible customer service. And I hate to make it about race but this is an exactly what transpired here today. A few guest came behind me and they had me standing there and seated everyone else. When I asked what the issue was the lady at the bar kind of lashed out on me.
Đan Nguyễn: The food was quite disappoting. I am a Japanese cuisine enthusiast, and this restaurant definitely did not live up to my expectation. The sashimi did not taste fresh. It was so bland, even the salmon - I could not taste the richness of salmon fat at all. There were some other fusion type of dish, but the combination of cheese and other ingredients did not turn out very well in my opinion. I'd say it was a westernized sushi/Japanese cuisine place, not an authentic one.

Fried ice cream was ok but for us it wasn’t fried enough, dough was a bit too moist. Nathaniel Arias: Uni is undoubtedly one of Boston's best places for sushi. I cannot recommend this place more vehemently.TLDRUni is for sushi lovers looking for value and high quality ingredients. The best part? Service goes above and beyond what you'd expect from a restaurant of this caliber. A vibrant energy great for special occasions or simply enjoying high grade sushi.SERVICEFirst, I want to shout out Josh for his amazing attention and really bringing together the full experience of quality and service. Came here for a birthday celebration and while feeling slightly overwhelmed with the options, Josh took the reigns and practically curated a menu for us. He helped uswith the saki to the kitchen dishes, and of course the sashimi and nigiri. After having a great experience, we even asked him to get us an additional dish without telling us what it was - simply based on what we had enjoyed so far.DRINKSJosh recommended the Wakatake under Junmai Daiginjo. It was extremely balanced and paired well with all the dishes throughout. I would order it again.FOODWe ordered a bunch of items FROM THE KITCHEN. All were great but the most memorable were the shishito peppers (unique way of combining sweet and savory), Spanish octopus (sous vide to perfection), Wagyu dumplings (incredible sauce) and A5 Wagyu Sirloin (A5 speaks for itself but the experience is unique to Uni - get it). For sashimi and nigiri, EVERYTHING was great. I hate to use such a blanket statement but after eating all of our dishes, we asked to order more because it was so good. Shout out particular to the Spicy Tuna & Food Gras, Shimano Yuki Mash - Snow Trout, and Toro.SPACEUni has two main areas: one being street level and the other the lower ground. Both have a sushi counter with the lower ground area having a smaller more intimate setting. The ambiance is energetic with good music.
Darius Russell Kish: I'll preface this by saying I've been here in the past and loved it -- food and service were incredible and no complaints. But I recently went with a larger (5p) party and have to say the service was incredibly disappointing. No complaints about the food other than the kitchen absolutely mistiming everything. Our waiter was inattentive, the food runners didn't know the dishes (she said "here's the white asparagus" which it clearly wasn't, and then she said "wait, no it's the monkfish"... it was the bamboo shoots) and we were waiting until the check came for some of the dishes to come out. We also got another table's food for two dishes. We had to remind the waiter 3 times about missing dishes, and each time he didn't seem to even remember what we were waiting for. The waiter also poured the rest of my friend's beer into his glass and promptly walked away as it foamed over and spilled onto the table. They said they would comp one dish that was egregiously late to the table and did so, so I will give them that. For a place that ended up around $70/pp before tip, and a place that I've been and had amazing service and food at before, they really lacked this time around. Really hesitant to come back at that price point.
Kiki Zizi: The Uni Spoon, Unagi Nigiri, Foie Gras (both options) were highly recommended, drinks are great too. The salmon sashimi, Hamachi sashimi, Crazy Boston, maki were unimpressive; the Spicy Negiham, A5 Wagyu Sirloin, chocolate mousse and brown sugar banana mochi were a letdown. Service was alright, we had to wait for the server to check in. Overall it’s just okay

Natalia Horinkova: Love love love! Love the vibe, love the food, and the staff is incredibly helpful. The menu is different than I was used to it but grilled shrimp sasauge is MUST to try ( and I don't even like shrimps) it's like a little celebration of all possible flavours you didnt even know can work together. Explosion in mouth. It's expensive, yes, but value worth for the experience and satisfy tummy.
Mike Chung: I wonder why I don't go and have a meal at Uni more often. The food is just fabulous, and the service impeccable. It's a genuine great meal each time I come here. I will revisit soon!
Alexandra Yu: Do not recommend $300 omakase. We sat on the lower floor, it was noisy and dark, and could barely see what our dishes were. There was a mix of really good to mediocre dishes. It would be better to save your money for the good dishes by ordering individually. The dishes didn't really come out at a steady pace; there were moments when we would have to wait 10-20 minutes between dishes and the next few would come out almost all at once. Also, the order they came out in did not make sense. Our second-to-last dish was the tako, which was the worst. It was very heavy with sesame oil and chewy and was difficult for me to finish especially after we already ate 9-10 dishes prior. They should have ended it with the congee especially since we added caviar and had the A5 wagyu.Honestly, the tako dish ruined the whole experience for me because this is the singular dish that I remember when I am reminded of this restaurant.

Katya Popova: I stopped by Uni tonight and had a terrible time— I ended up paying more than 60 dollars for one order of maki and sake.I asked for hot sake, but they gave me the cold version, and charged me for both the hot and cold sake. The waiter was messy—the soy sauce was all over the table as he gave me my portion —usually the customer is in charge of how much of soy sauce they pour…For those who are hungry and cold late at night wondering the streets of Boston—please find some other joint! Don’t get seduced by the big Uni sign.
Laurence Mercier-Lafond: We LOVE Uni! It is one of our favorite go-tos in Boston whether for date night, new years eve celebration, or birthdays. Tonight our standouts were the brussel sprouts, wagyu dumplings & nigiri. My go-to cocktail is always the Rebel Moves. Vi delivers amazing service. Anway De: Pretty nice sushi restaurant in Chinatown. The seating was interesting, we did not get our own separate table. However, the food was pretty good and the portions were decent. We got the Dragon Maki, Rainbow Spider and Red Sox Maki along with a Chicken Katsu. Would recommend!
Neeti Menon: Food was decent. Staff rude. We had to eat with our coats on, since they blatantly refused to shut the door to the restaurant on a cold evening.

Austin Boie: sushi had good quality fish, but fell off the rice which wasn’t as seasoned as you may want. Rest of the hot meal foods were actually great w/ crunchy textures to the chicken teriyaki, and that box curry taste from the roux (a good thing).Serving style feels rather distant, but could be for a bunch of reasons from time of day to our group being a group of mainly white people~If anything, not really of focus when you’re getting food for solid prices + feels consistent w/ the quality of the of Chinese-American Japanese restaurants I’ve had across RI.

Kate Carter: So good! We shared several meals and everything we tasted was awesome. It's a small place & you can watch them make sushi. Cooked food was behind closed doors. So yummy!

Tom Miller: I was under the impression that the $50.00 for a private room for a couple would be deducted from the total spent. Especially when each person is required to spend $75.00 each, so if it's a couple you need to spend $150.00Be careful and be prepared to pay the $50.00 plus the $150.00 as a couple. Not really clear on that, so be prepared to spend $200.00 for a couple. Very unfortunate, I wouldn't go back, because it's misleading and not clear.Food was good, not great and the atmosphere is noisy, so you need a private room or you'll leave with a headache.Another thing, the light over the table was extremely dusty and had cobwebs. Men's bathroom floor, my shoes stuck on.Mr Miller
terrill trueblood: My server Jessica was very welcoming and accommodating she was great! Everything came out in a great timely manner. Perfect social atmosphere for dates or business dinner. The food was amazing a great fatty yellowtail sushi 🍣 sake flight premium was delicious and gave a grate buzz for a blessed evening highly recommend this spot! And ask for Jessica!
Valerie Viengngeune: Beautiful restaurant friendly laid back service. You can get right to this restaurant by taking the green line train. Amp parking in front of the restaurant, across the street. The food was good. We had sushi which was fresh but if you are a noodle person like me I would not recommend the spicy ramen at all. It’s not flavorful and has a unique taste. Overall a good experience as we requested a room which you can shut with rolled shutters at
Jennifer Sereda: It's a Boston must. Amazing Sushi. Went there with a group of 6, ordered shishito peppers, garlic edamame, gyozo, lobster tempura, some sort of teapot soup, shitake soup, sashimi taco trio, tuna carpaccio all delicious, then we got the Shogun Combo. Finished it off with toro & sake flights.
Taylor Packer: A really great sushi place for a date or night out. The atmosphere is really clean and modern, I especially liked the booths. The rolls were all great. I would come again!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Sushi & Sashimi Combination, Edamame …More
J Love: Extremely racist establishment. First they asked us if we had a reservation when the establishment was empty restaurant. Then we waited over 20 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us....Stay away from this place!!!! Will post a tiktok later!!!
Ralph T: 😎
Farnaz Pezeshki: I take back everything I said in my review 3 years ago. And I’m never ever going back. I’ve been going here for almost 20 years but last night was so disastrous I’m never going back. Got the absolute worst treatment. Mistreated from the moment we walked in early for our dinner reservation all the way to having to cancel our order and walk out. Absolutely despicable. No matter how good and fresh the sushi is, when the service is this terrible and the staff are this rude, it ruins the experience. They didn’t even try to make it up to us or keep us from cancelling our order. No one cares about customer experience any more. This was my review before:Hands down the best spicy tuna ever! Those crunchy tempura bits make all the difference. The mango ebi maki - to die for (def pricy though). I honestly haven't had anything here that hasn't been incredible. And if it's less than incredible they'll make it incredible.
Pack 50 Milk Street: Very good place to hand out with friends. The hot dishes here are very good but I believe the sushi can be better than this. The fish is kinda has no flavors somehow. But overall, I enjoy the meals here.
Karen Wong: TLDR: Good semi-overpriced food. I felt like we were being scammed by their service, unintentionally or intentionally.I booked a room for 5 people this past Sunday. Note that you have to make a minimum purchase of $75 PER PERSON if you want to book the room. So for us, our min purchase was $375. When we arrived on time, we had to wait 5-10 minutes before being seated. The room seated max 6 people with sliding doors to filter out noise. The lamp at the top had a lot of collected dust hanging, so I was worried it might fall onto the food. Not sure if it did, not going to think too much into that.We ordered a Fugakyu boat, sushi, and makimomo's. The sashimi was pretty good, though I question the price for some of the food. Halfway into eating the food that was brought out, we realized they never gave us one of our makimomo's, so we had to ask them for it. They said they forgot about it, but it was fine since it's just one order that they overlooked..for now. When we realized we didn't order enough food to meet that minimum requirement, we ordered more sashimi and sushi, with a beef teriyaki and 2 orders of karaage chicken for takeout. They brought out our takeout 15 minutes before we left. After we left, we realized they didn't give us our 2 orders of karaage chicken. We checked the receipt and we did in fact paid for them too. By then it was 15 minutes before they were closing. We called them and they asked us if we could come back before they closed. Thankfully we were close by. If we weren't, they would've cheated $26 from us because they forgot, or "forgot"..It might be worth trying without booking the room so you have more flexibility in terms of how much sushi you want to eat. This isn't how a customer should feel like, but I recommend making sure the food you ordered is there in case they forget, or "forget".
JY L: I have never experienced worser service at any other restaurant I have been to. To start off, we had a reservation for our party and once we arrived, the receptionist was confused and could not locate the reservation. We were then momentarily led to a table upstairs, and in the midst of 5 minutes, were then told to leave the table as it was for another party. So the entire party was shuffled back down to the waiting area.Soon we were then led to a private booth, which they hastily put together but obviously above seating capacity. All 8 of us were then squeezed into a booth meant for 6 people max. We had to complain because we were literally suffocating from being squeezed like sardines. They finally moved us to another more spacious booth. The inconvenience was one thing but the experience was humiliating and did not sit well with us.When I confronted the Manager before we left, I was told that there was confusion with our reservation time which we had called to adjust way ahead. The Manager went on to explain reasons why they may have messed up the reservation and tried to justify the confusion. I felt the blame was placed back on the customer for adjusting the reservation time rather than them owning up to the mistake.Notwithstanding, the food itself was mediocre, nothing truly memorable or anything to rave about. The Ichiban Mori Combo was supermarket sushi served on a fancy plate. The sukiyaki was overly sweetened and made me slightly nauseous. Overall, very much on the pricier side for what you get.Safe to say, I will not be returning again.
sconceicao94: BLAND food I can’t even explain it , don’t go here . Service is trash, servers don’t care you will be waiting forever. The food is overpriced and overrated not worth your money. You pay so much for the quality and food portion you received. I don’t recommend.
Samir Sharan: Reservation doesn’t mean much here, keep some buffer
Alex Sann: Our waiter came back to us with our checks harassing us for more tip for food that were mediocre at best. Not worth 70$ per person in my opinion but I guess you’re paying for the sliding doors and decorative trees. 1 star for the audacity.
Jackie: The only place I’ll order sashimi in Boston. Pricey but superior. Please don’t ever change FuGaKyu 🙏There’s definitely a premium for the atmosphere and presentation, but it’s cute. Unlike other sushi places in Boston, they don’t skimp on the fish - I can actually taste it and feel it (texture) when eating. I had almost given up on eating sushi in Boston, so I’m glad I gave this place a try!
Nicole B Garcia: This place is beautiful. Gorgeous and photogenic entry way. Best to reserve a specific table when you book your reservation. They seem to like to keep the pretty seats open. The food was fine. Nothing was bad but Nothing was spectacular. We got some apps, drinks and small sushi plates. They confused a bit of our order. They don’t seem to do anything for anniversaries because we told them it was ours the day before and while we were there.Great location but there are some crappy seats so you should maybe ask specifically for the seats you want. Definitely worth it for pictures though. Instagramable place.
Kristen Godley: Such a great experience having lunch here! Everything we had was tasty and fresh. I especially was surprised by the shrimp and crabstick naruto, it was so flavorful and refreshing! In a word, Oishi! We will be back.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Gyoza …More
Matt Levine: Sushi was average, salmon was dry, service was mediocre. Best part about the restaurant is they have a little robot fella called misuta Robotto that goes around and serves your drinks and apps.
ray yin: The decoration and environment of this restaurant are good, but the food is not up to the level it should be at this price. Not bad but not that tasty either. One thing that is not satisfying is that no one told me in advance that there would be a mandatory 20% tip. Normally I tip 20% but tonight I called the waiter 5 times during my meal and no one came to help me. It can be said that there is no waiter at all. It wasn't until the final checkout that someone finally came. Generally speaking, I will definitely not go to the restaurant for the second time.

KC Chen: Everything at the restaurant was great especially the yakitori! The vibe was nice, staff was friendly and very efficient. Super affordable! There is a line so do make reservations ahead of time!Would definitely recommend!
Marc: When asked by a friend how the food was, "Love in a bowl" was the first thing that came to mind.Absolutely incredible.
Tian Zhao: Our first visit since its relocation from Allston. Grilled hokke (atka mackerel) was too salty, and fried beef tongue was a bit overcooked. The others were pretty good. Would recommend fried oysters, chicken namban, and yakitori.
Jiayu Shi: I really enjoyed the food at this restaurant and plan to come back often. However, I've noticed that like some restaurants in Boston, the waiter swipes your card in front of you at checkout and asks you to enter the tip in front of them. The minimum tip amount is set at 18% of the total price after tax, with tipping options of 18%, 20%, and 22%. Personally, I don't appreciate this type of behavior from restaurants and it makes me uncomfortable.
Ryan Wetzel: We've gone out to the new hot spots all over and come to realize, some of the absolute best are the staples that have been around for the long haul. Varied menu from yakitori to sashimi to noodles, you won't find better Japanese food in Boston. Prices are reasonable and solid selection of Japanese beers and sake. Took me 20 years to find this gem and will definitely be back.

Bella Wang: Okonomiyaki was tasty. I’m not a connoisseur but it was satisfying. I’m mostly reviewing this so I can remind myself never to order the sushi again. It’s terrible and not fresh. It came out last because I think they were defrosting it. Rice was soggy and unseasoned too.
Nhu Phung: Great food! Taste like Im back in japan, highly recommend everything--okonomiyaki, skewers, nigiri etc.
Biao Li: In comparison to other Izayaka locations in Boston, this is by far the best one. Super busy on weekends but well worth the wait. Friendly staff and service.
Nana: I’ve been going there for months, super good!Parking: Lots of parking

I really appreciate what the wait staff and back of house did to accommodate us. And despite the time crunch the food was amazing!Dietary restrictions: Nut allergy friendly
