Moroccan Boutique Guest House Boston: what do users think?
Jessica Buster: Staying in the Moroccan suite was like traveling far away without the need for travel time. Beautiful decor, luxurious linens, great atmosphere, and a lot of privacy. If you don't want to leave the suite, there are hundreds of restaurants that deliver, and a very functional little galley kitchen to prepare food you bring. If you do want to leave, the hotel is in a charming neighborhood with plenty of cafes, restaurants, and little shops, not to mention a quick walk up to the Bunker Hill monument, and a quarter mile to a T station. Walking into the city, or using the BlueBikes for rent is also easy. The owner is so pleasant, and full of knowledge about the Moroccan furnishings, as well as anything you need locally.
Pamela Runciman: Stayed September 18-25; highly recommend staying here! It's clean, quiet, VERY comfortable bed and walkable to the North end, Quincy Market, USS Constitution and other locations as well as the train. Plenty of breakfast food/beverages provided. It has a bathroom magnifying mirror and hairdryer. I recommend the Salem Suite. It's the only room with a terrace and very spacious. Our host Elizabeth was so nice and responsive. Whole foods and CVS nearby.
Daniel Tarquino: Extremely well appointed accommodations, excellent location, and warm welcoming hospitality.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Georgie Dacey: Roast beef you can't beat with the sauce.
Bob Derian: Being a travel agent and also a business man I stay in LOTS of hotels throughout the year. While on a recent trip to Boston we decided to stay at Moroccan Luxury Suites rather than a typical hotel and we were so happy we did. From the greeting at the door to our farewell everything was perfect. The staff was so welcoming and helpful and anytime we had a question they were there! The suite was amazing! We stayed in the suite on the second floor and it was like we were staying in a room from a historical era of Boston. This was not a "Moroccan" themed room but rather one that felt like home to me since I grew up in the Boston area. The antique furniture and decor touches were perfect and we had two large rooms plus a large bathroom. The bed was so comfortable that my wife bought the same exact bedding when we got home. The bedroom was very large and had plenty of space for our clothes and luggage. The living room was so well appointed and comfortable with the book cases, hard wood floor and comfortable furniture and it was a great place to spend quiet time and relax. The living room also had a refrigerator with fresh OJ and yogurt and breakfast pastries were set on the counter near the coffee pot. Not a full breakfast but certainly a very good continental breakfast to get us started. The location was great, the "T" is within walking distance and we were able to get into town very easily. I do not recommend driving to the B&B, the parking, although close by, it is a bit of a hassle and if you don't get your car out of the garage you end up paying for a full day.Overall I would give it a 10 out of 10. It's less expansive than staying in a Boston area hotel, the accommodations are MUCH larger and more personal and the staff really makes a difference.
Matt Cohen: Outstanding accommodations in the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston.Completely worth every penny
Susan Schmidtlein: If I could give more stars, I would. We were so pleasantly surprised by the room and suite, so much so, in fact, that we were excited to return to the suite and relax in the plush couches. The decor was magnificent and every detail from the Williams Sonoma soap and lotion to the plush robes was very high-class. Breakfast items were plentiful and delicious. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud and the hostess was incredibly warm and helpful. It’s in a great location and we will definitely be back!!!
Maisie’s Mom: Great location, unique rooms. Loved it!
Kate Falkner: This place is amazing! Our suite was very cozy and decorative. Elizabeth was very pleasant and had so much attention to detail. For a bed and breakfast we had all the needed privacy with our own bathroom and kitchen that was stocked daily with fresh quality food. The bed was comfier than our own at home with the softest sheets. It was wonderful.
Jari Mustonen: A unique experience and an amazing option for those looking for something special for their stay in Boston. Not only was our room cozy and welcoming but it was also so well thought of including many fine details that delivered a bit of the luxury. Elizabeth was a great host and offered her assistance for us first-timers in the city in many respects - guiding us throught the public transportation or giving tips on where to dine. Should we visit Boston again, no question where we'd stay!
Minna Mustonen: Very cozy place. Really friendly and helpful hostess.
Brian Meinhardt: This house and the owner are of the highest quality. The service and cleanliness was genuine and thorough. The attention to Detail was so staggering, that I couldn’t sleep right away because I was enjoying the pattern and textures probably as much as 1970’s acid trip.this Victorian home nestled in Charleston mass, is surrounded by history. It is a solid and beautiful canvas for what is clearly a love and a passion for Elizabeth. The materials that made up “The silk room” were honestly Fit for a palace. every square inch from the floor to the actual ceiling was intricately decorated.Solid marble bathroom floors and shower surround, solid stone sink, top end appliances. solid and real furnishings with the heart of Morocco at the design.5 stars without any hesitation 3Only bummer is 22$ a night for parking because street parking was never available while we were there on weekdays. Not the owners fault in any way, and the 6 min drive/ 15 min. walk was one of the most beautiful drive walks of my life. But budget the parking if you are a budgeter 🤓❤️
James Jones: My girlfriend Beth and I enjoyed ourselves here sooooo much! There were rose petals all on the bed it was great! I’m 6’7” and was extra cautious about hitting my head on the gorgeous exposed beems lol. The Monument Tavern was great, and So was Zume’s coffee both right down the street
Erika Sissons: We stayed in the Salem Court King Suite and it was amazing! We've had bad experiences with beds in hotels so this time my partner did the research and booked this suite... The bed was AMAZINGLY COMFORTABLE!! It was like sleeping in a cloud. We were actually well rested every morning we were there and we needed that for exploring the town. They were great refilling the breakfast items: water, pastries, yogurt, coffee, orange juice, milk, cereal, chips and cookies... Great selection of snacks. For something warm, we had a Whole Foods two short blocks away and lots of delivery options. You can start the Freedom Trail backwards at Bunker Hill Monument which is a few blocks away then just follow the red brick. It was a very nice suite. The wood floors were noisy but it's part of the historic building so I could appreciate that. The ladies were always so friendly and full of suggestions. They had a welcoming smile and where always there to answer questions and to help us plan our trip.Overall, I had a great time and really enjoyed my stay.
mary aumuller: Truly cannot say enough good things about this wonderful place! My daughter happened upon the property a few years ago while searching for a Bed And Breakfast in the Boston area and she loved it, i can see why! From the moment you walk in the rooms are warm and inviting, Elizabeth and staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming! My husband and I can't wait to go back!
Kelly Holland Fitzgibbons: Really wonderful gem in Charlestown / Bunker Hill. Walkable to several restaurants, the Community College stop on the T orange line, grocery stores, Bunker Hill monument, and Naval Yard. We stayed in the Silk Road room; romantic and thoughtfully decorated with artifacts from the owner's own travels. Owner is around and attentive, and there are only 3 rooms on the property. Small kitchen is well stocked with breakfast and snack items daily. Highly recommend and would stay again!
Jon Wigg: Amazing service and a lovely place to stay.
Sanna Wendt: Personligt, väldigt smakfullt och mysigt.

Clarendon Square Bed and Breakfast: what do users think?
EVO: Precioso hotel boutique en zona residencial cerca del Prudential Center. Tanto la habitación como las zonas comunes están decoradas con un gusto exquisito. Muy cómodo para desplazarse.Su propietario ayuda en todo lo que se le solicita
Mark Taylor: Great small boutique hotel in a fantastic area of Boston. Felt like we were "part of the neighborhood" with short walks to great restaurants, bars and coffee shop. short and easy walk to Copely and Newbury areas. Quiet rooms and quiet common areas made us feel like we were the only guest in the location. location, location location and a great brownstone and comfortable quiet rooms makes this hotel a unique and memorable place to stay in boston. will definitely book again.Nearby activities: short walks to newbury and copelyWalkability: easy to walk to many attractions in bostonFood & drinks: great local pubs, restaurants and coffee shops, all part of the neighborhood fabric
Laura D: This weekend marked my 5th time staying at Clarendon over the years! There’s simply nowhere like it in the city. The rooftop jacuzzi and its unreal views create an unmatched experience, the location on a charming street in the beautiful South End is wonderful with excellent restaurants nearby, and the brownstone setting is lovely with well-maintained and comfortable rooms to boot. Looking forward to our next stay already. Many thanks for a great visit!
Alison Connelly: A 2 night birthday weekend in Boston spent at the Clarendon was superb! From the complimentary b-day cake and bottle of champagne to the beautifully decorated and good size bedroom, it was a wonderful experience. The street is beautiful, very quiet and a quick walk to everything. My only hesitation, and this was my issue not theirs, was the stairs. Like all beautiful old building there was not an elevator that I could see. My over 50, arthritic hip found the stairs a challenge. But once up in the room it was heaven.
Liz Sanderson: Please choose Clarendon Sq. Stephen’s approachable, accommodating spirit encouraged me: sr solo female traveler on first visit to Boston’s south end. For sure will book again.
Jennifer Tabb: Wonderful stay!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Adam Clark: Everything was as expected and mostly above expectations from reading through the website and other reviews. Great location for a walk or cheap ride to all the main sites in the city. We met Stephen at the property where he was gracious and informative offering ideas and locations to fill any time we had in our weekend schedule. We will 100% be staying at the Clarendon again, it's almost like staying at your own or a family members flat on the edge of the city.
Dorothy Glover: Comfortable bed, amazing shower, hot tub was the perfect temperature, easy check in. Would highly recommend!Do keep in mind there’s lots of stairs, so if you don’t want to carry your luggage up several flights of stairs don’t stay here. Will definitely be back!
Lee Rubin: Rooms: Clean and high quality. Better than what youd get at a regular chain. Owner is very nice. There are.Stairs to get to room though so not great for those with mobility issues. Doesn't actually have breakfast minus some oatmeal available. Parking lot is biggest disadvantage. It's a bit far (7 minute walk with luggage in the cold is rough) so best for people who are packing light. And it's sketchy to park there at night so best drop all baggage and park during the day!
Hannah Johnston: Truly a gem of a bed and breakfast! So much charm and in the most convenient spot. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.
Leland Zak: Stephan is very approachable, super accommodating, friendly, fair, and nice. Winnie does an excellent job at keeping the entire space presentable, clean and safe. The rooms are perfect, the location is easy, parking is easy, the price is affordable, and the list goes on. We will be going back and highly recommend.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Linda Behnke: Great location as well as a beautiful setting. Steven was very helpful on things to do and places to eat. The tips from their guide were amazingly spot on for recommendations for restaurants.Room and entire building were so clean and comfortable.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Lisa Strickland: Looking for an exquisitely appointed room on a quiet, beautiful street in Boston within steps of all that Back Bay has to offer? That's exactly what we found in Clarendon Square B&B. Our host was exceedingly attentive and helpful throughout our stay. Every touch in the room, from fresh flowers to Molton Brown toiletries to down pillows, was designed to make us feel pampered and rested, even after a long day working or touring the city. Each detail reflected the love the owners have for their beautiful home and the interest they have in providing a great experience for their guests. We hope to stay there again when we return to Boston.
HCP VIDEO: Immaculate venue! Great communication and directions. The roof top hot tub is a dream! First time to Boston and if I am ever this way again for sure I’ll be checking this out first!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Jinny Park: Great Boston neighborhood and the place was really clean and well done.We loved it! Thank you :)
Aude Serra: This is a beautiful property, very classy and with a lot of style. It's located in quiet neighborhood.Stephen (our host) was very welcoming. Thank you for the little attentions, it was a real pleasure. The rooftop hot tub was great.Loved it and for sure we would stay there again.Would highly recommand Clarendon Square Inn.
Natalie Packer: We have just returned from a 6 night stay in Clarendon Square - this is one beautiful property! The bedrooms and lounge area (for guests to use) are beautifully styled and very classy. Stephen was an excellent, very welcoming host and was very helpful with providing recommendations for places to visit, restaurants to eat in etc. The rooftop hot tub was great. One of the things that really makes your stay here are the little touches including luxury toiletries, flowers and cookies. It is in a really nice part of town and not too far to walk into the main part of Boston. Would highly recommend Clarendon Square Inn.
GILOU: Excellent accueil de Stephen. B&B idéalement placé dans un quartier très agréable. A recommander sans hésiter !
John C: We really enjoyed our stay at Clarendon Inn! My husband and I celebrated our twentieth anniversary in Boston and chose it because of the romance factor. It’s not a bed and breakfast, however, they do set out some snacks each day and offer a great coffee set up in your room. They also offer a good list of close-by food options. The room was beautiful! The hot tub was unforgettable! The host was really nice and knowledgeable. I would say if you have mobility issues this might not be the best for you as far as lots of steps.
Michael Rogers: In town for work and wanted an out of the experience in a central location near amazing restaurants. Clarendon Square is beautifully appointed on a quiet quintessential Boston street and super comfortable. Will definitely stay here again!

The Ritz-Carlton, Boston: what do users think?
Erik Snow: Food & drinks: The service was stupendous! Also, the best cosmo I have had in my life! (And needless to say, I have had my share)Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury, Kid-friendly …More
Gayle Piraino: My husband and I wanted a quick yet special overnight to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary. We did not want to travel far, board a plane, etc. and decided on Boston. We chose the Ritz based on it's great location (adjacent to the Boston Common, Theatre District, close to the North End and Back Bay). We have stayed at this hotel a few times...and also had memorable stays dating back to their old Newbury St. corner location too (across from Public Garden)! We were warmly greeted in advance of our stay by Ryan McDonnell, Concierge who offered to help me make plans and reservations, thank you Ryan! When we arrived, Kenny was right there at the front door welcoming us. Front desk acknowledged my Lifetime Bonvoy Titanium Ambassador status and provided us a room upgrade that overlooked the common. We reserved a Club Level room and enjoyed our snacks and beverages there with Tony and others. Food at Artisan Bistro was excellent, thank you Nicole for your special touches. Enjoyed the Equinox Health Club access and also our massages (Ali did a phenomenal job!).Also want to mention and thank The Ladies and Gentlemen of The Ritz Carlton Boston for your hand written welcome note, anniversary good wishes and surprise/delight gift in our room, much appreciated and we really enjoyed! This is a well run property and thank you for a most memorable stay!
T M: DO NOT TRUST THE CONCIERGE! Excellent hotel but I will not stay here again. I had one serious issue which is the cause for my rating. The concierge referred me to an outside party for an experience that was clearly a scam. Fortunately I did not lose any money or waste any time, but I could easily have lost close to $2,000 had I fallen for it, and would likely never have gotten what was being promised. A hotel like the Ritz should know better than to refer their guests to local travel experiences that are not verified as credible.
Lauren Morgan: Our visit to this establishment was truly enjoyable, situated in a superb location with breathtaking scenery. The vast array of exceptional beers was impressive, and our amazing waitress provided top-notch service. We savored a mouthwatering steak and cheese, pleasantly surprised by the swift arrival of our food amidst the lively ambiance. We look forward to returning to this delightful spot in the near future.
rich: Some of the Ritz locations have not held up to the brand but this isn’t one of them. Excellent friendly staff, great amenities, clean rooms (unfortunately not a given these days) and great location.Notably, this location partners with the Equinox Sports Club which is probably the most impressive “gym” facility I’ve ever seen in or outside of a hotel.Honestly the more I look around the more great details there are. This is a true 5 star hotel and other Ritz locations should take notes. Instead of a bare concrete roof they seeded it for flowers (spring so nothing yet in pic). The alarm clock is also a Bluetooth speaker. Everything is great. I heard a couple blasting music at 2am and singing from the hallway (nbd I’ve been guilty) but once in my room I couldn’t hear a peep.Fantastic hotel! Even by Ritz standards.
Kunal Jagota: Terrible stay at the Ritz in Boston, and I am not generally one to complain. The showers give ice cold water for the first few minutes of the shower. The rooms do not have a functioning fridge, a stocked mini bar or a coffee machine - all things even the basic Marriott hotels would have. I asked for a plate to be brought up to eat my dinner and was told that there would be service charges. There also isn’t a gym on site, and you’d thing after spending $500 on a room that you’d have that for free. Instead you are charged $15 to use the neighbouring equinox.Lastly, on checkout I thought I’d tell the concierge. The gentlemen accepted no responsibility and was very rude and hostile. He didn’t accept or apologize for any of these issues. The staff need training on how to address complaints and not make their guests feel like it was there fault for deciding to stay at the hotel.I will never be back at this property, and I hope this helps others looking for where to stay.
Kat Wilson: This was the worst experience for myself and my partner. He was harassed in the lobby. Not sure if they thought we were too poor to be there smh. This is why ppl hate coming to Boston. I will never set foot in that hotel and I will advise my brides to stay away. In all my years of working bridal parties Ive never had an experience like this. The latent racism must stop!
Shosha Green: After an extremely long day at Brigham and Women’s, and worst week of my life, the Ritz put a smile on my face. I don’t think I had smiled in a week. They went above and beyond in many ways, the upgrade to the suite was unbelievable. I will never forget your kindness at such a low point in my life. My husband and I visit Boston often and we hope to be back soon, under different circumstances. Thank you so much for the incredibly comfortable stay, I have no words to really show how I that made me feel.
Ben Hotelling: Had an amazing weekend getaway. Hotel was super quiet at night. Service was outstanding! They went above and beyond at every turn for me, including the kids we left at home for the weekend.
Pat Bailey: The location of this hotel is excellent, and the service is unparalleled! The room manager, concierge, and doorman are outstanding. We have never experienced such exceptional service. The rooms are not up to the Ritz Carlton standard but the location and service makeup for it.

Michael Nam-Krane: My wife and I went here for our 30th Anniversary. I know this is a pricey hotel but it's worth it! I looked around all over Boston for the perfect room. Only the Four Seasons on Dalton Steet has them. I have never fallen asleep in a bathtub until now. The room was spacious, clean and charming in a modern way. The staff was super nice and professional. If you can spring the price tag, this is the place to stay in Boston.
Dario Camacho: This the only way to describe it, The best of the best.Everything was perfect, service was unique and dedicated, location is awesome, views are astonishing and worth a visit as long as you can.I belive if not mistaken probably the best hotels in the entire world, I want to visit them all and enjoy all the amenities and service it brings to you.Hopefully I can comeback soon

Jacob Poliskin: I am not one to leave a ton of reviews but this was a pretty crummy experience. The massage for 50 minutes that I asked the concierge to book me ended up being $265 dollars (crazy?), the view was not great, there was no iron in the hotel room, the breakfast options were overpriced. Food was subpar at best. The staff was great so I don't fault any of them, just not anywhere close worth to the price paid for staying here
PA_ resident: Staying at the hotel is a mixed bag. Good location, nice hotel room, but the amenities are limited. Room service was spotty, and if you want a cup of tea or a glass of wine, much of the day you are limited to room service.

Evil With An O: Me & my boyfriend stayed here for nye weekend. The bed is probably the most complete bed i have slept in 2022. In roomService is excellent, decent food. Everyone is pretty sweet. For the reason i took off a star, is because i have confirmed upon arrival that they have EV charger for my car. When i hand the car key to the valet, i requested again for my car to be charge, second day, i still doesnt see my car being charge, so i contact via the tablet again requesting my car to be charge. 2 hours later, still not being charge. Luckily, i didnt plan to go out, as i made a reservation to dine in Zuma only. After the 4th time contacting the front desk, my car is finally being charged. Also, the dog bed they provided, looks wear & tear. I am a bit surprise, as this is a 5 star hotel. However, my dog was in love with our bed in the hotel and seems to enjoy it a lot.So yeah, overall, it’s a great first time with 4 season. We will definitely check out another Four season location in the future. And thank you again four season. :)
Jenn Tran: Really poor service. Concierge staff is all over the place without continuity between day and night shifts. The hotel itself is nice enough but this is not four seasons service quality.
Shawn McGrath: Definitely an amazing hotel. Great for a night in the city and to get away.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury, Great view, Romantic, Quiet, High-tech …More
Vikas: My wife and I came there for a weekend with our newborn and their team was on top of it! I don’t think we waited more than a 2-3 mins for anything we needed for our soon. I’d you have a newborn, have no fear the four seasons is here!Thx folks, we enjoyed our stay very much!
Ghalib Zamir: Not sure if it’s worth the price tag! Stayed here for one night, it’s a great hotel, right in the Center of Boston and close to everything. Had no issues during the stay, but I wasn’t at the hotel too much to fully enjoy the amenities included. So if you’re paying the premium price to stay at the beautiful hotel, make sure to advantage of some of things they offer. I wish I got to try them so I can leave a full review. The hotel otherwise was great. Clean, spacious, felt new, etc! But not sure if I would personally stay here again.
Khan Family: Service at this hotel needs some serious work. We requested some of the amenities they have listed on their website for kids well in advance of our arrival and were assured they would be in the room. When we arrived they weren't there so we requested them again several times and each time were assured it would be taken care of and it never was. In addition we were charged for breakfast when we shouldn't have been. I inquired about the breakfast and was told someone would follow up and of course they never did.

AALIS: Premium stay at great location. I got room with Boston park view, a great room. It is spacious, clean, and elegant.Surrounded with restaurants, cafe, convenience store, pharmacy, and shops in walking distance.
S D: Lovely hotel. I miss the restaurants there and Hope post construction it’ll be better than before.

Donny Dasilva: Very nice hotel
Yves Gagnon: The classical and typical "Four Seasons" At Boston or Montreal, the personal make you feel important. You are the star of the day. Highly recommended.
Kenny L: Everything is great, room, pool, gym, in room dinning and service. The only thing is they are renovating at the ground level. Love the vault.Rooms: The most quiet room I've ever been to, there is not a single thing that can create any noise, no clock, no fan. Every detail of the room is well thought and makes perfect sense.
Tim Ortez: Wow! Excellent accommodations and service. Rooms are fabulous. So many amenities included. Centrally located. Close to restaurants and shopping. Short walk from financial district too. The best in Boston.
Joelle O’Hagan: Wow! I can't even begin to describe how magical my wedding was at the Four Seasons Boston. It couldn't have been more perfect and all thanks to the amazing team onsite. Philip Deschamps is top notch. He is so easy to work with, friendly, passionate about what he does, has great suggestions and kept all of the vendors on task and on time. The team was so accommodating from the moment we booked with them. Everything went smoothly from the catering, rentals, décor, flow of events, room blocks, cocktail hour, morning after brunch, etc. They are true professionals, including the concierge, waitstaff, chef, valet, etc. The food was incredible! Our guests are still talking about how amazing our wedding weekend was and I'm so thankful for everyone at the hotel for making it the best day of our lives. There is nothing that I would change, and I can't wait to relieve it through our photography and videography!
Boston Golfer: No longer a 5 star. We used to come here often prior to the pandemic and this was our first visit afterwards. I called the reservations line to book a reservation and was placed on hold on multiple occasions and was never able to speak with a person. Therefore I booked a reservation online and was surprised that much of the property is under construction when we arrived. Guests should be informed of the limited services and construction on the website. Our room was also not ready when we arrived and there was really no sitting area or restaurant to wait. The suggestion was to wait upstairs in a ballroom filled with loud dehumidfiers and unfinished tables or upgrade to a presidents suite for an additional $2,500 per night. ??? The valet and foyer has been shrunken for construction, Bristol lounge is closed and lunch is currently not being served. The jacuzzi/hot tub by the pool was also closed due to leaks. We ordered room service several times and they either forgot an entree or the food was too salty on multiple occasions. The hotel overall feels tired and had I known, I would have tried the newer Four Seasons on Dalton street. This will no longer be our go-to staycation getaway in the city.
Justin Cook: Q: What is better than staying at the four seasons?A: Absolutely nothing!I mean, does your hotel even have “the vault”? No, I didn’t think so.

Sonder | No. 284 Back Bay: what do users think?
Asaf Taragan: Great experience with Sonder! The room was big, clean, and very quiet; I felt very good there. The location was very good, as I was close to many cool bars and shops. The view from the rooftop was great.and the Sonder team was nice and welcoming, helping me a lot with every question I had!
Ron Diskin: In love w Boston. Beautiful building and huge apartment. I work digitally so I travel a lot. I always stay w sonder bc I always get a huge apartment for half the price of every other hotel in the area. I love how the entire experience is digital bc I get a 5 star product and 5 star service and at the same time I have complete privacy. Always a great experience. I highly recommend
Alexa Armstrong: I wanted to reach out because the experience of staying at the Sonders in Boston was frankly quite appalling. I’ve stayed with them before in Miami and NY, where I really had a wonderful time – but I am afraid No. 284 Commonwealth Ave is not on par. There is no staff, no maintenance, no support, and much less space in any of their rooms.Firstly, at 2AM the day I arrive the alarm goes off for 20 minutes due to some water issue? It is not until 2:30 AM that we all go back to our room. This was a huge disturbance due to lack of maintenance of the building.Secondly, the rooms are much smaller than advertised, while the cleanliness of them was questionable. Hair clips that were thrown to the floor from a previous stay were still on the floor under the bedside tables in my room. This has never been an issue before when I've stayed in other Sonders. You can also hear everything, from the elevator to the water running, to conversations in other rooms. Normally I find that their rooms are much better sound proofed in other locations where I’ve stayed before! In previous stays, they've always provided at least one complimentary bottled water, or had a fountain to fill cups with water. This was not the case this time. The common areas also did not provide any water. The space to store suitcases was fully packed so I had nowhere to store my larger suitcase, just my carry-on because by miracle there was one small space opened. The last straw was when the alarm started ringing (AGAIN) becoming subtly stronger and stronger the last day of my stay. I again had to get work done, and it was so distracting. At first it seemed like a glitch, and then got louder and louder. In general, this location does not seem as UpToDate and well-kept as Sonders other venues and was a major disappointment.I really want to emphasize this review as someone who has always been a fan and recommends Sonders to friends. The stay in Boston has made me reconsider, as I got no sleep, peace of mind, nor space to work during my stay. It almost was a point of anxiety coming back to the room which is not what one wants while on a work trip.
Kevin Horecka: Apparently I should expect to be woken up tomorrow and have someone come into my room without my permission because they need to test the fire alarms. I tried to contact them to ask that they come in later in the day so as to not interrupt sleeping in on my vacation and a talk I have to give later in the day from my room. They were not helpful and provided no options. So I'm not even at the location yet and I'm already stressed about having my privacy violated on vacation. I wish I'd booked somewhere else.
Steven Fuhr: Let’s start with what I found to be good. The room was fairly clean albeit very small – like under 200 sq.ft. small. The bathroom was so tiny, there was nowhere to even put down my small toiletry bag except the toilet lid or inside the sink basin, which was first for me in hundreds of rooms. The location was close to the Heinz Convention Center, which is why I chose it. It goes downhill from here, steeply. My first big issue which I wrote another review in more detail about was a classic case of irrational inflexibility. On my original booking, I reserved 3 nights. Within 12 hours of that booking, I realized I needed one more day, but they would not let me book just one day since they have a 2-day minimum. My argument that I had already booked 3 days and was simply adding a fourth fell on deaf “Chat-Bot” ears.On booking in, and with all these next issues, keep one thing in mind. Sonders is nothing more than glorified Air-B&B, with no staff to help if you have any problem. So, when I found my Wi-Fi password didn’t work on my phone or laptop, I spent almost 3 hours over the next 2 days trying to fix the problem, but the “Chat-Bot” support, which I’m guessing is in India or South Korea, could not help me. It worked fine in the plane, airport and coffee shop, but not here, and the two friends I had staying in other rooms couldn’t get on either. I never did speak with a human to help me, and this problem never was solved. What alarmed me each night I was there was the Fire Alarm warning sound going off in the foyer saying there was a System Communication Error. The second night, I texted “Chat-Bot” Support again, but they never got back to me, so made a non-emergency call to the Fire Department, and when they came, they said it was likely if an alarm went off, the signal would not go to the central station. They felt it was a pretty big issue, and it happened again on night 3, but I had given up at that point. This issue was likely caused by the internet connectivity issue too.Three other points worth mentioning start with they put a $350 “Incidental Hold” on your credit card for a week, where other real hotels put a $100 deposit on for a night. They must make good money on the interest float with that amount and time. The funny part is, there are no incidentals in the rooms to buy or even vending machines downstairs, not incidentally. The final point relates to the common area cleanliness. For a place that can command upwards of $450 a night, I was in shock that the carpets look like it’s a dog kennel, with the old, worn carpet having literally hundreds of spots. It smelled like a kennel too, and this was true of all the halls, stairs and even inside the elevator, which smelled of urine. On the outside, there’s a lot of trash, probably from neighboring properties, and the rats were going BONKERS every night. Not only did I have them literally run into feet on three occasions, on two occasions a passersby shrieked as rats ran at their feet too. There were no visible rat-control traps anywhere, which is just another negligent cost savings measure on Sonder’s part. No staff, no internet, no repairs, and big money – what a great business model. There’s also absolutely no parking here, or anywhere near here. The bottom line is there are dozens of other great hotels and Air B&B’s to stay at nearby – I'd avoid this overpriced low-grade hostel like the Plague.
julie lyda: First issue was with uploading my license. After several attempts I called customer service. After 45 min of them telling me they had no record of my uploading attempts I emailed them screen shots of the error messages. Finally I emailed photos of my license which they accepted.I then received an email that I had been upgraded. The original room I booked had a bedroom and a pullout sofa. I called to confirm since my son who is 6’ needs a bed. When we arrived the couch didn’t appear to be a pullout and I looked for extra bedding …none. Called customer service AGAIN. No other rooms available in my building. No cots available. They did offer to move us to another unit. We travelled all day and had just parked the car so we declined the offer. They did say another room in our building is available the next night so our son could have that room for no charge. When we returned from dinner no extra bedding or cot. Called sustainer service and they said everyone was gone for the day!?!? My husband and I slept with a sheet. My son is sleeping on a sofa with his legs hanging off the end. Will get to call them again today to figure out tonight’s arrangements.I have stayed in many hotels and airbnbs this is by far THE WORST all for $525 a night.Rooms: Small no extras.Walkability: Nearby restaurants and shopping.Food & drinks: Many options available within walking distance.
Angela Mc Glanaghey: Clean, comfortable and quiet! Contactless stay so maybe not for everyone but we really enjoyed itRooms: 5/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Sir Zhirafff: Pros: location. clean enoughCons: check in system is made for their convenience, not yours.app downloading, your biometrics required, etc. there is no front desk, no staff, no service - nothing, but phone number. All in all, the level of an average motel, but in the center
Steve Fuhr: I have spent the last 3 hours trying to just add a night, and at the end of the day, I've found it is literally impossible. My first 4 nights were booked with Expedia, and they couldn't do it because Sondor took their availability off the table after I booked my room. Sondor is playing games, saying to add one night in this same room, which Travelocity, Expedia, and every other site advertises for $175, is $400. This isn't even a hotel - it's really just an Air-B&B condo on steroids. They literally have no customer service or even a desk to check in at. As for Expedia - if my company hadn't referred me to it I could have saved $20-$30 on any other site.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY BOOKING AT THIS SONDOR OR USING EXPEDIA
Amanda Myron: Great location, clean room, friendly staff, and beautiful building inside and out!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Steve Zonce: Nice place, however our TV didn’t work the first night. Getting in touch with someone was challenging because it’s virtual only. They offered me a credit, however they never sent it to me.
Mohamadmehdi Ebrahimi: Nastiest place I have ever been! They charged me much more than what I booked!
Joy Kevelson: Sonder No. 284 Back Bay has no accountability to its patrons and literally no staff. It is an empty box. After traveling for 8 hours, we stopped by to leave off our luggage. We were greeted by a rude woman who was "on my way out." She insisted we had received an e-mail with a code to get into the front door and into our room; there had been no e mail sent (welcome letter) until we had been there 24 hours. The code she initially gave us did not work. We were lucky she was still there to give us a different code; otherwise, we would need to call a number and wait to get into the guest house. This was after traveling all day. Once inside the hotel, you would need to call a Sonder number to get ANY assistance (coffee machine broken, fresh towels, etc). What makes this so sad is we had stayed at No. 284 before Sonder took over, during the pandemic. The staff bent over backward with bagged breakfasts (yogurt, fruit), coffee downstairs, lovely amenities, and staff who would welcome and assist guests. After this experience, we will never stay at any Sonder property. It is no wonder their stock is trading at such a depressed level.
Sabine O: Great, comfy bed and very beautiful location. Super central and safe area. I knocked a star off because our room wasn’t completely cleaned when we arrived (there was a suspect substance on the toilet seat). I think the cleaner probably just had a bad day , would still recommend!
mona shah: From the beginning at check in. We didn’t get our code. Called a number and we were told it would be a few minutes it too us 45 minutes to get a code to come in. They don’t clean either and they have a door stopped right in the middle of the room that I’m sure everyone has tripped over multiple timesRooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Shawn Oisin Freeman: Starting at 9pm at night at checkin my spouse sat outside of the hotel for 3 1/2 hours, because the door lock technology failed. They couldn’t get into the building. There is no staff to assist and I had not landed in Boston yet. When I arrived I also tried the code and it failed. After another 30 mins and speaking with a Sonder rep who had me try the code again finally got IT and give us another code over the phone… The new code worked and we were told to disregard the old code the app gave us.When we asked for a late checkout we were immediately denied via text even though we lost hours on our stay do to Sonder’s failure to prepare for our visit. The next morning used their locker system in the lobby only to be locked out of the hotel again so we could retrieve our bags. Back on the phone we were…
Phil: 1 star because of the check in process. You get an email every day until you register an account on their website, take photos of your personal identification to upload to their website, and force you to take photos of yourself using their facial recognition software via their website. It's tedious, invasive and overkill.
Lateef Mirza: Amazing stay at this Sonder location. Great area of Boston to explore.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
NJ W: The check in process was really annoying. Since I booked this though another portal, there was an error & I did not get the check-in instructions. There's no lobby/ receptionists so calling the help line at 11PM was not fun. It took about 20 minutes on the phone to get the codes to my room and the building. The studio room is spacious and looks just like the photos. Great room to have if you need a work station. The bathroom is small but clean and updated ( note only a shower, no tub). The bed was comfortable but the sheets felt like paper, scratchy and cheap. There was a mini fridge, kettle and coffee station that was useful.Location is great and very walkable, hidden between the other brownstones. A lovely neighborhood to walk around, eat & shop. Despite those great things, I would not stay here again mainly due to the sheets and small bathroom.

Christine Lee Kim: Hands down the best hotel in the back bay! The mandarin oriental Boston is my home whenever I am in Boston. Love that it is located right in the heart of back bay, walking distance to all the good shopping, perched on top of the Prudential Centre. The newly renovated rooms make for a better lit and ethereal environment. The daily complimentary hot chocolate with fixin’s and beignets were an extra treat. Look forward to my next stay!
Anthony R: Along with the Four Seasons Back Bay, this Mandarin Oriental is our favorite place to stay while visiting Boston. You absolutely can't beat this hotel's location. It is situated right in the heart of everything that is the best of Boston. The rooms, service, and decor of this property is top notch as well. Best of all, they treated our dog Bella like a princess during our visit! We will definitely return and would highly recommend this property, especially if your pet is tagging along!
Dan Cea: This is probably one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at. Which isn't saying too much for me cuz I usually don't stay it super luxury hotels. I've been impressed with everything. XV Beacon Hotel: what do users think?
محمدمهدی محمدقلیها: عالی من نرفتم شما رفتید اینجا جای ما رو خالی کنید
Calen Riggs: I booked the classic room through Amex Travel and was promptly upgraded to a Studio, which is their version of a suite. Everything was well-coordinated and efficient and the entire stay from 4/24-4/29 was excellent. Everyone here were friendly and down-to-earth for a place that is on the higher-end in the city. Overall, just a pleasant experience and certainly a place worth coming back to.Rooms: The first impression of walking into the room was almost like walking into a library or a museum. The Studio I was in was spacious, clean, and rather opulent. The TV was modern (unlike a lot of hotels in the city), the fireplace was a wonderful touch, and the beds were rather comfortable. The mattress was on the stiffer side, but nothing to be upset about. What was also nice is the fact you can open the windows to allow fresh air in. You don't see that often. The bathrooms were also exquisite, as well.Walkability: The hotel is in Beacon Hill, so a lot of historical sights are within a 5-minute walk. Granary Burial and King's Chapel cemeteries are nearby and The Freedom Trail is essentially around the corner. Boston Common was also less than a 10-minute walk away, as well. The high-end shopping of Copley is also around a mile away and certainly walkable if the weather is nice. The hotel is in a great spot depending on what you are looking for.Food & drinks: Mooo is attached to the hotel and is accessible through the lobby. The menu is extensive, especially the wine - which is something they are known for. In terms of food and the quality everything was great. The Meatballs and Dumplings were amazing. The Beef Wellington, to me, is one of the best in the city. Mooo isn't cheap, but the portion sizes were large and everything was cooked properly. To me, it is worth coming back for.
Green Space: Worst airport pickup ever - 25 min looking for the driver until I managed to leave the airport. So regardless of the hotel (I did not arrive yet) don’t book airport pickup with the hotel, it is a nightmare. One more thing: the ride from the airport to the hotel was less than 25 min 😂😂.
Michael Nam-Krane: I had a huge legal case and I stayed here to be close to the court house. This is the perfect hotel if you are doing important legal work in Boston. The rooms are great to work in. The food is top notch. The locations to all the Boston court houses. "Stay here counsel," is my best legal advice.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury, Quiet …More
David Hale Smith: One of the finest boutique hotels at which I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying. Top service and amenities. Great rooms. Comfortable beds. Nice restaurant Moo on property too.
A P: I am a 24yo female. What started with a great evening with girlfriends at the property, ended up being terrorized and intimidated by a driver named Valentine Kogan who took me appart at 11PM and didn’t let me leave the hotel’s car service. He would stare and stand close enough to me that I felt he had an er_ction. He’s 70. I gave him money so he leaves me alone and I was able to run away.
Yana Saakyan: Beautiful hotel, excellent service, a lot of attention to detail. Thank you for making my stay so comfortable.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Robert Hofmann: Really a hidden gem. Excellent room and the attention to service is one of the best in Boston. We travel also with our two small dogs and they treat them like Royalty! Its our go to hotel when we come to Boston. Beats hands down the other 5 star hotel down the street at double the price. Also, Mooo! Is one of the best steak houses in the Northeast and is attached to the hotel. Make reservations as books early. Great location, great rooms and best team running this hotel!
Stephen Oesterle: Great hotel. Wonderful attentive staff. Choice loation
ST: We have stayed at this property twice and absolutely love it! It's not a large high traffic place to stay. It has a quiet personal feel. The service is outstanding and in an age where going the extra mile to make guests feel at home is hard to find it's alive and well here. The in town driver service is amazing and the staff goes above and beyond. Thank you for another great stay!
Lisa Boston: I am as well one of the woman who escaped an attempted assault and was a victim of racketeering by a driver named “Valentine”. Strong accent, taller guy, intimidating vibe.I used to love coming to the hotel’s restaurant or bar as it used to be on my way from work. Some officers at the Boston Police are known to be shady and not do much with cases of assault or domestic violence, so don’t think the PD will do anything if you call for help. The police officers are misogynists and have a lot of “violation conduct” in their profile. The hotel does not operate objectively like a typical business. If allegations/with proof and correct descriptions were made at a 5 stars establishment like the Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton (that I know well) they would have fired the individual within a week. The hotel staff is very aware this happened as It’s impossible to invent such details, or a precise description.None of the young women who made the claims are related to the hospitality industry nor are competitors.
Kevin M.: Luxury defined. These guys know how to put it on. Highly recommended. Family and pet friendly as well. Location is outstanding and the fireplaces are a nice touch.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Bob Faust: Unbelievable experience from the moment we arrived all the way to the moment we departed..the car service was extremely convenient and Mark and Valentine were exceptional and extremely friendly

The Liberty, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Boston: what do users think?
Erin C: Meh and you will starve. Only option for room service is to call operator at front desk. Then, they lose your order and you wait hours for food. Menu not great and WAY behind times with no allergy free options. Cool when it opened muh-may-b but it’s a has been. Starve like your in jail. Woooohooo

Riley Blizard: I have stayed here at the Liberty Hotel several times. The most recent but terrible experience happened to be a long stay. The day we checked in the front desk personnel notified us that we were upgraded to a suite because of our titanium elite status. Well the room was on the main level over the loading dock area that was very loud. The main issue was that the toilet would start bubbling up whatever the rooms above us were putting down there shower or bathtub or toilet drains. One day we woke up after contacting the front desk that the toilet was bubbling up and yellowish colored suds were developing and pouring on to the bathroom floor. They came and fixed the toilet and told me not to worry it wouldn’t happen again. Well less than 12 hours later, that night the same issue but this time even worse there was so much water and other disgusting unsanitary matter on the floor I asked them to come again for the fourth time on day 3 of my stay. This time I was notified by a maintenance staff member that this had been a known issue for this room recently and that he even was surprised they put anyone in the room. I demanded the front desk to change rooms. I was denied as they said the hotel was at full occupancy. I asked for them to make accommodations for me else where and yet again I was still denied. They told me it was their busiest night. There firm Many hours later still no resolution other than the maintenance person being in my room trying to snake the toilet for 2-3 hours straight being in the room until just past 11:00 PM trying different things. He thought he had fixed it. I had asked the front desk to have all new towels brought and for someone to clean the floor as I it smelt from the overflow and I felt was unsanitary. They said they sent someone but I clearly could tell no one had come other than the new towels but the used ones were still there. The very next morning the same issue at 7:00 AM. I finally couldn’t handle it anymore. I went to the front desk and spoke with a different manager that next morning. He stated he could switch rooms for me and it wouldn’t be an issue. He said to give him until 11:00 AM to switch the room and I asked that he make note of this on my file as I have pictures along with videos of what took place. He stated he was sorry and that the manager the previous night could’ve moved me to another room but chose not too. This was beyond appalling and disgusting. I was really disappointed by the front desk staff especially the manager the night I originally asked for an new room. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. The unsanitary part was beyond what anyone should have to deal with for a such an expensive hotel. The Room was very unsanitary and disgusting. Especially because of the backups happening from the rooms above us through our toilet.Safety: The unsanitary situation wasn’t safe!

Doug Dillmuth: It's an old jail converted to a hotel. Super cool building. Really good food and hotel bar. So we were there for the purpose of the Boston marathon. For 99% of the rooms, this would not be an issue. Apparently on Saturday night, the hotel bar turns into a full club. This was an issue because our room was on the interior lobby wall. The room literally shook until 2 AM and the bathroom mirror was vibrating and almost fell off the wall from the bass and the music. Could not sleep at all. They gave us half off the room for the night for the inconvenience which was fair. They didn't do the lobby club thing on Sunday night. Room was nice. Linens and towels were changed every day and bed made and a lot of places don't do that anymore. Towels were Holiday Inn quality, not luxury quality. The televisions aren't smart TVs which is surprising so not Netflix access so bring a roku or firestick. The in room snacks and drinks are not priced to sell. They are priced so you wouldn't dare open a beer. $10 M&M's, $7 can of Coke, $9 Michelob Ultra? Who's buying that? You could get a craft beer and a nearby bar for far less. Great location. Clean room.

Ms Berries: The restaurants were 5-star (Scampo and Clink). The food was delicious as were the food and drinks in the hotel lobby. The rooms were a teeny bit old but were cleaned so very well. But my main reason for the 5-star rating is THE STAFF. Every employee from the valets, to the wait staff at the restaurants and lobby, to the front desk, to housekeeping were AMAZING. Every last one of the employees was genuinely friendly and helpful. They were engaging and so very kind. We never once had to chase anyone down. They were all so attentive and absolutely PERFECT. Never in all my travels have I ever encountered a hotel staff that was so world class in terms of personality, skill, professionalism, and friendliness. We asked for extra sets of bath towels and they were at our door in 5 minutes. The wait staff at one point had 4 servers for us who kept checking on us, and they were so much fun. Blown away. We'll definitely be going back. Ruben Escano Jr: My stay at The Liberty was fantastic. I took a weekend trip to Boston in January. The hotel was unique, eye-catching, and all-around an enjoyable stay. The room and decor were amazing, and the view was top notch. Everything was clean and housekeeping was amazing. I really pay attention to the overall quality of the room in hotels where i go: baseboards were straight, door jambs were perfect, grout was clean in the bathroom, lighting was perfect (except for one reading light that was out on the bed frame, but i did not care much for that), and the furniture seemed new.Room service was perfect (had it two nights in a row). The main lobby serves as a lounge on weekends. I think this was rather neat, but overall not really my scene. The noise did not reach the room, which i greatly appreciated.I only had two complaints about The Liberty:The host at check in seemed more interested in the live lounge than in checking me in.The lounge made getting in/out/around the first floor a pain. The floor was overcrowded and it ruined the ambiance of the hotel for me. But others really seemed to enjoy it.I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area, and i will definitely be returning. I would give the hotel a 4.5/5. If you like a lounge/night club within a few feet of your room out of convenience, then i would definitely rate this a 5/5 for you (seriously the rooms seemed soundproof).
Kirin Ek: Would not recommend, highly regret choosing for birthday getaway. Rooms and bathrooms were not well maintained, good & rooms overpriced.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 4/5 …More
