My parents are lawyers, and they had sued a “reputable” chain jeweler for something that should have been filed by the prosecutor, because it was downright criminal. Therefore, I was very skeptical going into ring shopping. However, I eventually found Danny and I was first taken by how I really liked the unique rings on his website unlike the mass produced ones that all looked the same.I then went on to read pretty much every entry he had written on his blog, I stayed up until 4 A.M. the night I found it reading, and by the time I was done I felt like he was a friend of mine. I then went in to meet him and got to know him even better. He is honest, passionate, and skilled with his work.My now fiancé and I are engineers, and I came into Daniel’s shop thinking I wanted to buy a synthetic (lab grown, but real) diamond for the engagement ring. I thought it would be really neat, and thought my girlfriend would think it was cool as well. He told me the reasons why he didn’t recommend it, and things to be careful about, but said if that is what I wanted to do, he would be happy to set it into one of his rings. I ended up doing some more research, and decided he was right from the beginning. I ended up buying an ideal cut natural diamond from him instead. I ended up with a fairly priced, custom made, and very beautiful engagement ring.

I tend to go in rather haphazardly with small requests (ring adjustments, necklace extenders, etc.) and have separately purchased a number of customized gold pieces. They are always incredibly patient and more than pleased to render the respective services - as long as there aren't an all too often flood of appointments (understandable). Unlike some other jewelry stores, they are also incredibly transparent about pricing, informed about their pieces, and unabashedly share a degree of their own personal thoughts (or lack thereof) in the customer's best interest. They always have a wide array of rotating pieces, their turnaround time is beyond accurate, and they are very communicative throughout the ordering process. Highly recommend!

Julia R: I’m so grateful we ended up at Rebekah Brooks. My partner and I were looking for a local jeweler to set a custom cut stone in a tight timeline, making us feel pretty overwhelmed. When we arrived for our consultation, Gwen had selected some options for us. She never belittled me for not having a diamond, but helped me get excited for the creative process. She sized me(though I did later need to go back in for re-sizing since they didn’t have a 3/4 size to try in the store), talked through some ideas and even made a sketch of what the piece would look like— it ended up being accurate too! I really felt that she was acting as a consultant more than a salesperson, and I appreciated her opinions and advice. It was such a breeze.Her communication was on point over the next two weeks, letting me know when they’d received the stone, and it was being worked on. The studio manager had to change the design to make sure the stone stayed safe, and she was clear and honest in the reasoning behind that, which I very much appreciated (the change was barely noticeable anyway). The ring was done a week ahead of schedule, and even with the resizing, I was able to receive it by the date that Gwen had originally told me. The craftsmanship is wonderful, I get tons of compliments on it, but most importantly, my partner and I have a beautiful piece to keep forever. We couldn’t be more happy with the process and the result— we now have a little piece of home to take with us as we move abroad!

Mahala Burn: Unfortunately, I had a very negative experience here. I am not a person generally driven to leave negative reviews - my Google Maps is by far recommending awesome experiences - but sadly I felt gaslit and like the associate was trying to take advantage of me. Long story short, I came in to get a ring resized, and my first experience seemed fine. The associate that day was kind, measured my finger and the ring on my other hand, and sent my ring off to get sized to that measurement. I returned to pick up the ring and found it was so small I could barely get it on my finger. The associate that day, a different person, said I must just be swollen. I pointed out that my other ring that I've worn for years still fit fine and that I think the resized ring is too small. She then said I would have to pay the shop again to get it resized. I explained that I had gotten it sized with them and was thus pretty confused, and the associate went off at length about how this was my fault and I should pay them a second resizing fee if I wanted to ring to fit. After several minutes of this, I was eventually able to get the situation resolved, but not without my day and frankly the enjoyment of my ring being quite tarnished.I'll never be going back.

Pearl Risberg: The absolute best experience. I met with Gwen. She helped size me for engagement rings, and I tried on a wide range to get a better feel for what I liked. She was extremely calming and welcoming. There was zero pressure to buy something bigger or more expensive than I was considering (which I was a bit worried about), and the experience overall was lovely. I roamed around looking for a store that buys jewelry and ended up with several offers that were drastically different. I had been thinking of proposing for awhile and was just nervous because I'd never bought a diamond before. My girl had told me kind of what she wanted so I had an idea. When I met Jim he was just a guy in a little office,nothing fancy but boy was I impressed. Him and his daughter who works there gave me the quick tutorial on a ring & helped me pick out something in my budget and that I thought my girl would like. An hour later I was done and couldn't be happier. My girl loved the ring & I got a great deal! Thanks Jim for making me the hero!!

Ace da boss: Ive never felt as slighted as when I went to Cambridge to shop for accessory jewelry for my wife and a Rolex for me. They acted very superior to me and treated me like an child. Their pricing was out of line and were not willing to work with me even from a price match perspective. Bad business ethics. Also, if you aren't dressed like a million dollars, that's exactly the way you are treated. Maybe I would've been treated better if I opened up my wallet ahead of time to show them I can afford anything in their store. Thanks for making my choice easy. Seems like the oenergy made his money in the 2000s. He is more intrigued about the TV he watches all day while he works sitting down. Watching court cases all day

Therence Howard: I can't even begin to tell you how much my wife and I hate this jeweler. We had the absolute worst experience shopping for an engagement ring here. This was one of the first stores that we looked in who carried the name brand setting we were interested in. Once we found the style we liked, my (now) wife Sent to look at diamonds. SHe was told that if we wanted this particular setting,S he could only purchase a "hearts on fire"diamond. This seemed odd because the setting was not a hearts on fire setting, but she still was interested in pricing. Their prices were a joke. They were selling IGI diamonds for more than what you would pay for a GIA graded diamond. SHe didn't purchase here.Here my husband would have been able to purchase a .50 carat IGI rated "Good" quality "i"clarity diamond, for MORE than he paid for my .75 GIA "Ideal" cut, "G" clarity diamond purchased at another local luxury jeweler. Thank goodness, because my diamond sparkles like crazy and I receive tons of compliments on it.We tried to give this place a second chance when we went to see the matching wedding band for my engagement ring.this time and spoke with the owner. We told him about our bad experience at the and he offered to give us a "great deal" on the matching wedding band to make up for the bad experience at the store. His idea of a great deal was to charge us 45% above the MSRP suggested for the band on the manufacturers website for the "floor sample" ring. We laughed in his face, walked out of the store, and purchased the matching band elsewhere.We tell anyone we can about the horrible experiences we had in this store and warn people away. I don't know how they even stay in business!If you are shopping for an engagement ring, wedding band, or really any nice piece of jewelry, I would encourage you to go just about anywhere else. The sales people (including the owner) are rude, pushy, and lie. For what you pay here, you could get a much nicer and larger diamond and band just about anywhere else. This store is supposed to offer great customer service, but since when does great customer service include lying about your poor quality, overpriced merchandise? BUYER BEWARE.

I spoke with Jim several times before making the trek into downtown Boston from my office in Westborough, and he was always polite and courteous, provided excellent driving and parking directions, and never made me feel that I was not worthy of his time.When I arrived for our appointment, I wanted to sell a few pieces of jewelry from my recent marriage break-up, Jim could not have been more kind and professional.
