The Mexican place between Porter and Harvard which actually Did serve excellent food but really was a sit at the bar "hey Joe howya been"Charles then renovated (keeping the inexplicable fake glowing orange logs up near the ceiling) the table near the exit where soup was given to the needy . The double doors that created a vortex of wind that made opening to the street nigh impossible & the greatest pile of charcoal broiled pork chops I'll ever have. Emeraude spray for a quarter gone.The Irish working area gentrified with a vengeance leaving Paddy's an oasis. You'll drive past it. No lunch
JA L: Most Excellent little neighborhood bar.Warm, friendly, legit! We stumbled upon this little gem on a walk about- It's small and basic but we were warmly welcomed. unpretentious, clean, and you cld feel the strong Irish family heritage in every nook.
Nathan Lowry: Great experience - just moved to the area and were warmly welcomed. Paul was very friendly and we will be back for the 5K!

Beth Redmond Walsh: Great sirloin tips, and mashed potatoes. Very juicy and perfectly cooked medium rare. The atmosphere leans towards sports of course, soccer mainly. It was quiet being a Monday night so we had the place to ourselves pretty much. The price including drinks and tip was under $100. And the service was very good.

Bash A: One of those places that are dirty and you get treated poorly but for some reason people think its “authentic” and has character.

Tamika Law: This was my first time visiting this spot. I was thoroughly impressed by the friendliness of the staff. The bar owner Shawn was so cool. He gave everyone in the bar a free holiday shot of their preference. I opted out of the shot and asked for a sweet drink the bartender suggested a lemon drop... it was pretty good more tart than sweet. I couldn't leave without sampling the menu. Everyone looked as if they were enjoying their selections so I wasn't surprised when my food was presented to me that it looked like it was made in a hi end restaurant. It was quite flavorful as well.The place is very small but very welcoming.If you want to go to a low key spot for a quiet date night this is a very good spot to try out. It's located in Cambridge near Harvard Square.

Bama Boy: Took over 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me at the bar. Ordered a long island ice tea and they tried but failed on making it. Ordered a screwdriver and to my surprise it was off to. Sorry , I dont like to leave these types of reviews but I have to be honest. Hope this helps someone make a decision.
Victoria: Cute little pub and it seemed to be popping on a Tuesday night for dinner! I felt bad for the waiter as he was juggling at least 15 tables both inside and outside by himself. Food was decent and the overall bill for 2 people (with drinks and apps and entrees) was $50!

Aimee Concannon: Owner was really unfriendly and borderline hostile. When I asked where the bathrooms were he walked straight past me and pointed over his back. He then followed me to the womens bathroom and began rapping on the door as if I was taking too long, yet I had barely been in there and when I came out there were no other women waiting. I then went back to were we were watching the match, and in my absence he had removed my chair. Extremely weird and hostile, stay away; especially if female.

What whatter: Attempts to be fancy not great for socializing.
David Stickney: Absolutely the best service and great drinks and food
Jaye Aster Broder: Decent cocktail bar for Cambridge. There are some unique cocktails with trendy techniques like butter washed gin. There are some beers on tap. It’s crowded on Friday nights. You can wait or just be ignored for quite some time. There is some overflow seating inside the hotel but outside the bar.Edit, to respond to owner: We knew we needed to place orders at the bar. The issue was that members of my party reported standing at the bar, making eye contact with the bartender, watching the bartender take several orders and make several drinks for roughly 15 minutes. I hope that adds clarity to the review.
sportygoalie32: Normally I’m skeptical of bars in hotels…however Noir is officially the exception to the rule. Nice patio that offers good food and even better drinks! The staff have great banter as well. A solid spot in Cambridge!

Melissa (MelissaJane): I was considerably underwhelmed. Noisy little place even when not very full. Very good service. Very mediocre food - a cheese board of entirely uninteresting selection was served too cold, woefully ungarnished except for a plonk of overripe grapes, accompanied by overtoasted bread and insipid jam. Olives were strangely bitter. I felt like they got the concept but absolutely fell down on the execution of what ought to be extremely simple bar food. I wouldn't have thought much of it if it wasn't a hotel once famous for its excellent food.
Hann Solo: Always love the cocktails here and fantastic service. Outdoor patio is comfy and has space heaters, complimentary blankets. Nice because it never feels crowded.
Danny Curran: Our waiter was excellent. Food was delicious. Aside from the guy re-filling water glasses like a kamikaze pilot learning how to land, the experience was great.
Seth Lucas: The perfect European experience in Harvard Square. A cocktail bar and so much more.

edward dudek: Enjoyed Noir outside at the Charles Hotel Sat night. Highlighter beer and chicken flatbread pizza. Fresh brewed and pressed coffee. Heating lamps throughout the outdoor patio and blankets available but still dress warm and wear a hat. I found it invigorating. You'll also enjoy the international music playing. Not expensive at all but still ride herd on the wait staff. 4 1/2 stars.

Amelie Kharey: Coziest spot in Porter. It is smol like a toad and old people hang out here. They have no cover and live music and reasonably priced beer. If you need a place to just retreat into a little toad hole, this is your bar.
