Tamika Law: This was my first time visiting this spot. I was thoroughly impressed by the friendliness of the staff. The bar owner Shawn was so cool. He gave everyone in the bar a free holiday shot of their preference. I opted out of the shot and asked for a sweet drink the bartender suggested a lemon drop... it was pretty good more tart than sweet. I couldn't leave without sampling the menu. Everyone looked as if they were enjoying their selections so I wasn't surprised when my food was presented to me that it looked like it was made in a hi end restaurant. It was quite flavorful as well.The place is very small but very welcoming.If you want to go to a low key spot for a quiet date night this is a very good spot to try out. It's located in Cambridge near Harvard Square.

This place was a total surprise with quality and experience. 5/5

Bama Boy: Took over 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me at the bar. Ordered a long island ice tea and they tried but failed on making it. Ordered a screwdriver and to my surprise it was off to. Sorry , I dont like to leave these types of reviews but I have to be honest. Hope this helps someone make a decision.

Victoria: Cute little pub and it seemed to be popping on a Tuesday night for dinner! I felt bad for the waiter as he was juggling at least 15 tables both inside and outside by himself. Food was decent and the overall bill for 2 people (with drinks and apps and entrees) was $50!

He then followed me to the womens bathroom and began rapping on the door as if I was taking too long, yet I had barely been in there and when I came out there were no other women waiting. I then went back to were we were watching the match, and in my absence he had removed my chair. Extremely weird and hostile, stay away; especially if female.

Amelie Kharey: Coziest spot in Porter. It is smol like a toad and old people hang out here. They have no cover and live music and reasonably priced beer. If you need a place to just retreat into a little toad hole, this is your bar.

Rebecca Howarth: We waited an hour and 40 minutes for a table of 5. Originally we were told the wait would be at least 25 minutes. Their issue is that that have no system for keeping track of the parties waiting to be seated. At various points we informed all three staff members working that we were waiting for a table for 5. My friend and I made a point to get a drink inside, while our friends waited outside (because there was not enough standing room inside), so that our party would not be forgotten. We watched two tables that would fit our party open up, but groups which arrived later than us were seated ahead of us. When we told staff that we were waiting they seemed surprised and told us they both couldn’t see us (even though we had been standing in the middle of the restaurant) and that they forgot we were a party of 5 instead of 2. At that point we had been waiting for an hour so we offered a solution where two of us sat at the bar and the other three took a table, but we were told that would mess up their system, and that a table was just about to open up (it was not). Later we saw a party of seven seated at combined four person and two person table. We were also told we could not have been seated there because they needed it for the seven people, who had arrived 30 minutes after us. Finally we were crammed into a 3 person table in the corner and the short waiter with dyed blonde hair refused to acknowledge any error on his part, even though it was his mistake for forgetting about us, and his fault for putting no effort into seating us somewhere else after his mistake was revealed.

What whatter: A lot of people come here who think they are cool but they are just boring like everybody else. That’s the scene. It can be ok but feels kind of dark and cramped. Maybe they are communists? I don’t know.

Richard Cheng: Hamburger is as basic as you can get in bar food. It is so easy to make it right by using high heat. Yet Plough & Star can make theirs so blah by using low heat. Not many bar food can match that.

Bailey Waldorf: This spot is only a five minute walk from my residence which makes it an easy choice if my partner and I don't feel like taking a hike to find a hot meal.The food has always been good, but not always great. However, if you've read any of my other reviews you'll know that an excellent eggs benedict goes a long way with me and says a lot about the kitchen it came from. Namely because hollandaise sauce is no easy thing to make.I have had there traditional Benny before and was a little disappointed in the hollandaise sauce from this particular visit. It was beginning to separate when it reached our table. But for this past Sunday my partner and I wanted a quick brunch fix and I am happy to report the hollandaise was on point this time.Instead of the traditional eggs benny I went for their poached eggs. This dish was absolutely delicious! Hopefully my photo of this incredible dish will do it justice because it's certainly worth a try.The poached eggs are served with a toasted English muffin over a bed of pork confit. The pork confit reminded me of pork chow mein and it went so well with the perfectly poached eggs and hollandaise sauce.As I understand it this place has some history. The Plough and Stars is one of the older bars in Cambridge. Modern and bright are NOT words I'd use to describe this atmosphere. With it's low warm lighting and decades of serving the community it's earned a worn in, homey feel to it, but keep in mind it's no dive bar either. It's always clean and inviting. We were just looking for a quick pit stop for a brew, and the one beertender was extremely rude and uninterested in answering any questions we had regarding all things beer related. Beer was mediocre at best coming from people who know their beer and was looking for something new. The customer service was not up to par. Would not recommend.

Evgenia D: I wanted to like it, but it was simply mediocre. Very basic beer, food is just not good. Salmon burger didn't taste salmon. Generous portions stuffed with carbs and fat. Not creative in any way. Certainly a place to stuff one's stomach, but far from a place to enjoy a good meal + beer.

We liked the IPAs. We did not try any of the food here but it seemed consistent with Cambridge pub food. I’d come back here.CBC would be better if the flight tasting cards were designed so that the labels were wide enough to actually align with the beers (right now there is a CBC logo that is a bit unnecessary and takes up space). The menu also list types of glasses rather than volume for the beers, which can be difficult to interpret. There are two doors to get to the bathroom so you have to use your hands to open the second door. It would be nice if they either put a trash can near the door to open with a paper towel and discard or a foot pull to reduce exposure if other people haven’t washed their hands as thoroughly

E Rowland: Went for a drink and asked to sit in the sun on the patio. The waiter said sure and sat our party of 2 at a table of 6. We suggested breaking the table out to not take up so many seats, despite the fact there were multiple other empty tables and the restaurant was not busy. We were told it was fine to sit at the larger table. Shortly after, another server came over and asked us to move. After explaining the situation, this server still insisted we move tables because this one was reserved for larger parties. There wasn’t even a larger party waiting on the table. They lost our business and it was a terrible first time experience. I will not be returning. I will also refrain from purchasing any Cambridge brewery beers at other establishments moving forward.

Kallen Tu: At night, fish of the day was out. The beers and cider were pretty good, but on a windy, rainy night, the inside seats were actually fairly cold.We had to wait around 40 minutes to get a large table.The miso salmon tasted pretty good, although the portion was a tad small.

Just note that you can only park in a zone for two hours max and have to move it outside of the zone for the app to allow you to pay for more parking.

Linda Corcoran: I came here for dinner with my partner tonight and I had a horrendous experience. The host was incredibly kind and sweet but our server David was absolutely obnoxious. He never cared to introduce himself and when I asked why he was rushing me and my partner he simply said he was very busy and we could leave if we wanted to. It started to rain and the host told us we could move under the canopy to which David our “server” started to berate the host in Spanish. Thank you to the host for putting his foot down and demanded that we must move due to the rain because we were afraid of David. We spent over $250 but David made us feel like we were doing him a favor. The host was incredibly apologetic for David’s behavior and we appreciate host, he was a very kind and warm young man. But we will never return because of David, he was out of control, rude and cold. My partner left in tears because David was as so rude.

Michael Narbut: I am a long time customer of your brewery having dined at your Kendalll Square establishment for many years going back to 2006. While I have taken a break since 2019 I recently returned to in person dining today. I regret to say my experience was less than satisfactory. I have had more than 90 unique brews up until today. I entered the establishment slightly after 2:00 PM today 9/9/2022. I proceeded to the bar to order a Doctor's Note pilsner. The waiter did not greet himself, tell me his name, or inquire how I was doing. Very nonchalant. I sipped on my beer and when it was time to order my second round Daryl S. was nowhere to be found. I waited nearly 10 minutes at which point I asked a hostess to pour me a teardrop of Pina Colada. That went unanswered. At which point I asked another hostess to pour it which she kindly did. All is well at this point. When Daryl returned he promptly gave me my recipt as if to expect I was leaving; I was not. When I ordered my third beer he said this is your last. Um, excuse me? When I asked why he said, "I am not going to watch you pound beers all afternoon." By the way, I sipped on two beers over 45-50 minutes. This does not qualify as pounding. For the most part he was not at the bar so how could he say I am watching you all afternoon. Note, there were only two other customers at the bar and they had left after one drink when he told me this. After questioning he said all right I'm taking your beer away from you. He quickly snatched it and took it off the bill and would not allow me to order bottles from the cooler. Note, I drove over an hour to get to your facility specifically meant to order many of your expensive brewery specific releases. I asked Daryl if I was impaired. He gave a blank stare and said what part of ordering no more alcohol don't you understand? I said this is no way to treat paying customers who are quiet and accomodating. He proceeded to ask me if you want to buy alcohol there is a liquor store down the street. Are you kidding me? He also aske me what I do for work. What bearing does that have to do with this situation. He insulted my customer service aptitude which is extremely unprofessional. I told him I am a Principal IT Systems Engineer but again this is irrevelant. I left disgusted and very much dismayed at how such as manager can run a brewery. Please speak with him and share my experience. There is no place for such behavior in any customer-centric hospitality business.

Jea Kim: Good place to get basic pub foods and beer.Came here on a weekday after work. I've had CBC beers from other restaurants in the area, and my friends and I decided to check them out. The patio was almost full, so we grabbed one of the tables inside which was essentially empty at the time.We got the Thai Curry fried chicken sandwich and the fried calamari with their in-house beers. Compared to other popular pubs in Boston, the food here was a bit lacking. Calamari wasn't very crispy and the fried chicken sandwich was also a bit dry. Nevertheless, they are still a decent option if you're looking to grab a drink and their in-house beers are solid.

Brittney: The worst service I’ve ever received. We called ahead of time to inform them of a large group, the said ok no problem we arrive and their was attitude at the door. I’ve never seen or experience this level of disrespect
