c Adams: Advance Tire is incredible - honest, super friendly, fair prices. I started coming when I worked close by, now I drive 20 minutes to come in because I know i will be treated the right way. Rick and the team are fantastic. I have used Advance Tire for tire, breaks and general engine issues.
Gokyu Phoenix: 9:28am I just came from this place and the owner is the most disrespectful and forceful person. I don't feel comfortable giving out personal information and due to this. I couldn't simply buy a tire, I've purchased several tires from people in the past and never have I ever had to give my personal and private information to buy rubber. His excuse in case your car is blocking my workers I need a number to call you, my answer to this was ok I understand I'll stay with my car well so I don't feel comfortable giving that out. This guy then proceeds to talk to me any which kind of way. Funny part is that I was just in there politely waiting for him to finish a nice conversation with a delivery person, but as soon as he gets to me the entire attitude changed up. I'm not sure why the caucasian woman in front of me was able to see the nice side of this man and then turn to the black guy you just made wait then give me an attitude. Honestly unused to be the person to just react in the store but now I find posting honest reviews works better this place will never get my business nor will I ever refer anyone to this shop. I work around the corner from this place and in the future I'll have my car towed to any other place on earth then to go back to a place that can treat people this way.

Rubie Rakian: I was quoted $160 to have my tires alignment. After the work was done, I was charged $250. I would not recommend Kendal Advance Tire and Car Care Center. They are dishonest in their business practices with owner/owners who lack integrity. There are many places in the Boston area who will value you as a customer and honor the cost they quote you.

Rebekah Larsen: Two stars for convenience, but I think the prices here are much steeper than other mechanics in the Boston area. A $130 charge for a diagnostic--and in the end, they simply relayed to me the error codes that I had *already mentioned* when I made the appointment. (Also, there was no mention of the fee in the appointment call--only once I was dropping off my car.) Maybe I've been lucky with other mechanics, but I've never been charged that much for a simple diagnostic. We'll have to go somewhere else so we can afford the cost of the actual repair--the repair quote was also more expensive than expected.
Karli Tumbleson: The guys are super nice, sweet, and funny! They were so helpful and nice when it came to my tires. My tire had a nail in it and they were able to fix it in a timely manner. It wasn't too expensive either.

Liz Solera: Came here after switching my registration from out of state. The mechanic who completed the state inspection for my jeep also mounted my front license plate without any prompting at all.I'm sure it took very little time, but sir, if you're reading this, you have no idea how much you blessed me with a few extra moments.I have arthritis in both hands and reduced fine motor control in my fingers. I was dreading struggling through the installation and being sore afterward, so I left everything in the passenger seat to take care of later. When I realized he installed it for me, it made my day - perhaps my month! I wish I had noticed before I drove off so I could have thanked him.

I've been here for major routine service as well, never had a bad experience.Since I bought a replacement set of tires they do free rotations for life.Everyone's always polite, even when I lose track of the tire lock adapter and they have to wait a bit while I frantically dig it out of the trunk.

Zhenhua Zhang: I used this location twice for oil changes. The first time I took my husband's CRV which was only a few years old at the time and they told me the brakes were failing and I had to get them changed out because it was a safety concern. I went ahead and had them do the work. I went back a few weeks later in my car for an oil change (I drive by this location every day so it was convenient) and I got the exact same message. My rear brakes were failing and were a safety hazard. I better get them replaced or I was going to get into an accident. So given I had heard the exact same thing now twice for two vehicles that I had just come in for routine oil change I declined to do the work. My car has been absolutely fine and passed inspection 3 years each time since I was told my brakes would fail imminently. My husband's crv brakes on the other hand that I spent much money on to fix at this shop have utterly failed in just a few years. The terrible scraping noises it made did not give us confidence they worked nor that the car will pass inspection that is due. We just had them switched out at another shop. Despite driving by this store almost daily I will never be using their services for anything again. I have seen other posts now warning about the brakes here. Pete Shinn: TLDR: Never, ever use this business. They apparently enjoy preying on young women there.The details: I encouraged my niece to use this business because of its positive Google reviews. What a mistake. She went for a vehicle inspection and was told by Dennis Cassidy she couldn’t legally drive the car without getting a front break job, complete with new rotors and calipers— calipers which are available at any auto parts store for $75 or less, and for which she was charged nearly $500 each, before labor! That might be OK, except when she left after paying a grossly inflated price for the coerced break job, Dennis warned her to bring it right back if the vehicle made any funny noises. When it predictably did start making grinding and screeching noises every time she touched the brakes within hours after paying and leaving, my niece, as instructed, brought it back right away. Although Dennis had the car for two full days after my niece returned it, they never looked at it, and eventually my niece had to go demand her vehicle back from them, unrepaired. This is a business that preys on the unwary. They will definitely up charge you well beyond what’s reasonable, and you may or may not get your car fixed in the end, even after paying an inflated price.Service:Vehicle safety inspection

They healed my car, even alleviating a weird thumping sound the dealership had told me would eventually go away with wear. That was one year ago. But now, I only trust him with my car repair work and recommend him across the board to friends and family. He’s always upfront with options, timing, necessity of the work, and pricing. Not only is he knowledgeable, but he’s also friendly too which makes the process of car issues feel easier.

Pedro Perez: I visited this shop on November 28, 2022, because the check engine light on my Mini Cooper went on. Oudy informed me that the thermostat needed to be replaced. I told him to go ahead, and he proceeded to replace the thermostat.About 2 weeks later, when I drove the car for the first time after the fix, the check engine light went on again. I went back the next day, on December 12, 2022, for the supposed warranty on his work. According to the invoice, the warranty is valid for two years and/or 24,000 miles. To my surprise, Oudy said that the thermostat was working fine but that now I needed to replace the fan and the water pump because they were not working and that the cost would be $1,200. I immediately got suspicious and picked up my car ASAP. I took the car to the MINI dealer, and they concluded that the water pump and fan were working perfectly fine and would not need to be replaced for many years, if ever. Then, they tried to bleed the coolant to see if that was the issue, but they told me that most likely the issue was the thermostat. Bleeding the coolant didn’t fix the issue, so they had to replace the faulty thermostat, and now the car works perfectly fine.Stay away from this place.
Sarah Moore: I know basically nothing about cars other than how to turn them on. I have gotten hosed in the past by other car detailers. When I got my most recent car I decided I would only go to one mechanic for everything. After a lot of due diligence I came here and I am SO glad that I did. The first time I came in there were a lot of repairs needed. I didn't know Oudy, but knew that he knew I knew nothing about cars. I called my brother in law who fixes cars on the side with the quote and he told me I was getting a very fair price and that whoever quoted me was an honest man. I trust my brother in law so I got all the repairs that Oudy recommended. Since then I've been seeing him for my maintenance and I love the guy. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly, kind! I would highly recommend this place. Cameron Ingram: Oudy is about as friendly and competent a mechanic as anyone could hope for.I had to have a defective tire replaced and he had the broker who provided it pay for the labor instead of passing the cost along to me, which I really appreciated. Also, he did some follow up work on a battery drainage issue at no charge.This is a guy who cares about his customers above all else which is super hard to find — I strongly recommend his shop!Edit: more praise for Oudy, who has since the review above taken my car in 3 separate times at no charge to isolate an electrical problem draining my battery. He really wanted to leave me in good shape and truly cared about solving the problem. Ted is so very kind, trustworthy, communicative, punctual and he definitely knows his stuff. He is very honest and never tries to upsell nor does he try to force additional services down your throat. Pricing is incredibly reasonable and they always get the job done well within the time frame that he tells you. One thing I really appreciate about Ted is that he's always willing to explain what the issue was, how it was fixed, and even goes out of his way to show me the parts he's fixed/replaced to so I can have a visual and learn a bit more about my car. Prices are low, repairs are performed fast, well and everyone is friendly. I had asked to park my car a few days on their premises until I had received my license plates after the purchase (which was at the time no problem). If you want be sure to receive great service at low prices from a reliable team, you have found your place. The oldest review on google for Foreign Auto Center is 8 years old, and until today almost exclusively 5 start reviews, no 1 or 2 star reviews. That is quite impressive.

One of the founders met us and got us organized with Casey. Since that time they've done a few repairs and are always diligent, efficient, affordable, honest about issues and time, etc. I go in and say, "here's what's going on, when do you think, here are the keys, see you." They give the appropriate responses, and I'm on my way. On the other hand, I've seen interactions where the car-owner wanted to talk more about "everything". They listen and sort all of that out, too. They are always busy as far as I've seen, they've a staff of family people, and the seem to really care about what they do. Ken Ho: I've taken several of my cars here over a decade or two. They have always been fabulous, never suggesting/pushing unnecessary fixes. I had a bad odor coming out of the air conditioning system that the dealership could not adequately diagnose, I was concerned that I would have to get rid of the car (an older car which I love). Ryan and the team found that I had some sort of refrigerant(?) that was the source of the odor, fixed it, and I was able to keep the car, which I am still happily driving.More recently, Casey evaluated my exhaust system which the same dealership made sound like it as about to explode (or that it might do so at state inspection testing time). Casey said it's actually a small leak, and suggested that it's probably not worth fixing until absolutely necessary given the normal deterioration of such systems in this New England environment. Kelly P: While this is only my second maintenance experience with Good News Garage, each visit reinforces how honest, hardworking and educational these guys are. They hold my hand through each step as I have not owned a car in decades! They strive for the highest quality and err on the side of conservative so you don't blow out your budget. I had an emergency a few weeks before my scheduled maintenance and had to have a gas station garage do some work and I called Casey panicked.He explained why it waa imperative to take care of the issue immediately and even spoke with the mechanic doing the work. I didn't know one was still in okay shape. And that's what Casey told me and that he didn't see a need to replace it ( I know many other garages that would take advantage of the situation and sell me a tire I didn't really need.) I have full confidence that he will always tell the complete truth about all car situations. For example, I didn't know what to do about another one of the issues my car was having. I took my vehicle in for a strange noise coming from the wheels, which they found the cause of but when I picked it up I discovered that it was still coming from a few of the wheels. NJ H: Very pleased! After 6pm on Monday, we had a tire blowout. Needed a tow. They came promptly, and we agreed to be towed to their shop, which was still open. We needed specialty tires for our EV. Not available that evening, so we left the car. Following day (Tues.), they informed us it would take an extra day (until Wed.) to get our desired tires. But, at 7:30pm Tuesday, we got a call that the car was ready! It always feels good to get the car back a full day sooner than promised. I had gone to the Infiniti dealer, and they said my 2013 Infiniti needed $4500 in repairs. Anna Krohn: I needed to have my car towed due to the front break calipers seizing up while driving on a Sunday evening. I chose Abe's from the list of AAA shops and I'm satisfied with my choice. I heard back from Naeem first thing on Monday morning, they already had my car up on the lift and confirmed for me it was indeed the calipers on the front that were the issue. There were other things that they spotted and recommended taking care of. Naeem explained everything, sent me photos of what he was seeing and was very communicative all day as the repairs were happening. I could have picked the car up the same day, but had to wait until Tuesday. Everyone I met in the shop when picking up was super friendly to top off the experience.The car felt good driving home so I'm happy.
