Brandon Fontaine: I one time waited a couple hours here to be handed a piece of paper with the same phone number on it that I’ve been calling for days without answer. The staff are lazy, slow, disinterested, and unhelpful to Worcesters most needy. Pathetic.
Heather Pierce: Worcester DTA has much room for improvement! Some case workers (just a select few!) do know their job well & are very helpful, but many others are clueless & unprofessional. I have had different workers over the years & they always try telling me that I have to complete a work program requirement, even though I am on disability & have been for over a decade now. They have proof of this, but conveniently misplaced it repeatedly, so time & time again, especially whenever they change case workers, I've had to constantly prove my disability, so that they'll stop expecting me to work, or partake in community service programs when I clearly am unable to do so! Believe me, I'd love to have a job if that were an option for me! It would be so much easier than having to receive public assistance. I'm sure many others share my opinion on this, but unfortunately some of us (like myself) have multiple long term, or even permanent health conditions which prevent us from being able to gain/maintain employment. Once you ask a client to prove verifications, this should not need to be repeated regularly, unless of course there are significant changes in the home, or in the person's life, or if a long period of time has passed since benefit's were first applied for/received. It can be tough to retrieve proof of various things, so to make people do this several times (jump through hoops so to speak) seems very unfair & impractical. It would also be nice of DTA staff to return phone calls! You ask that we only leave one voicemail, but when you don't respond to us, we have no choice but to continuously call you & leave numerous messages, because obviously we don't want to lose our benefits or have them decreased. Try walking in our shoes please. If something is time sensitive, we should have an easier time reaching staff! Nobody ever answers the phone, it's a generic audio recording that hangs up after having the greeting announced. Please try to do better, folks! Worcester & it's surrounding towns/cities depend on DTA to support themselves & their families. Thank you! My stars are for the competent employees of this agency.
Heidi Laine: Carmen Gomez is absolutely amazing. Very professional, understanding and helpful. She’s able to clearly explain every process, exactly what is happening, what needs to be done and what to expect next... all without judgment. Carmen has always gone above and beyond. I’m able to talk to her about my families situation and needs and she always gives other recourses we may be eligible for. Very knowledgeable. She truly cares and wants to help. By far the best case worker I’ve met in any DTA office.

Seriously, I understand there’s a pandemic and most are working from home but there’s no way that you’re soooo busy that you’re not able to answer a call that has been on hold for 2 hours. I literally need to speak to someone because the website can not answer my question about my child’s benefits. Absolutely unacceptable, they also hung up after my 2 hour wait!

mshell420ya: My one star rating is for no handicap parking. Very unacceptable. Bringing my elderly mother who is partially blind with other disabilities, uses a walker on good days wheel chair on other days. No where to drop her off, all down hill on broken sidewalks. She could of gotten seriously injured if I was not escorting her.

Carlos Morales: Public complaints regarding wait time are the ones who get there late. If it opens at 8am well try your best to be there @8am. Myself know about wait time that's why I am there @8am. Alot of the customers are not prepared with documents and get frustrated when they are told to come back. If you know what you need then educate yourself first and then it's easier to actually get what you are there for. If you need to wait then wait. Don't think that if you need to be at another place then you can't expect to be at two places at the same time or I have to go to work or I have an appointment, really. You have to be polite and expect the unexpected and deal with it. Dealing with the public is one tough crowd. So good work at Dta employees. Thank you for your service.

Chuck Berry: Very friendly staff. Very helpful.I showed up around 11 maybe waited in line 2 - 3 minutes, filled out forms & out. Line was moving fairly well while i was there. Was told I'll receive a call in 24 - 48 hrs.I received a call in 2 hrs. VERY friendly person , completed application rather quickly. First time there & no problems at all.

Mailee Spezzano: I came here when I was pregnant I was not eligible for services due to my income being too high. So they had recommended for me to return once I was out of work and on maternity leave and they would help me get WIC which they did. I am so grateful for the help they have given me because formula is so damn expensive and they also helped me with fruits, vegetables, cereal , cheese and eggs. Every time my bill would come out to almost $300 thank you so much WIC program!! You guys really helped me so much. The only thing I wish could be changed is to help the people who work and who they consider " make too much money" because in all reality we don't make too much money. all that money goes to bills.I just feel a lot of people take advantage of the government and the ones who are really in need like I was during my pregnancy, I didn't get it. I had to go on maternity leave then I got the help.

When the drs changed my daughters formula from similac alimentum which was super expensive to similac sensitive wic was giving me 10cans a month of the alimentum but only 8 if the sensitive for the same size cans which makes absolutely no sense when her excuse for it was this is all they offer for her age when she was first put on it she was offered 2 more same sized cans for her age.... Feeling like certain people lower it if they don't like you smh

Brenda: From the feedback I just got from a (very upset) family member tells me that there are a few ignorant SOB's that work at this Wic Office. When a staff member tries to act medically smarter then the child's Doctor & belittles the child's Mother ( who works full time & pays for most of the daycare & doesn't receive housing), it's time to make an appointment at the East Brookfield (WIC) office. There the parent will be shown respect and not be bombarded with non understandable stupidity!!

Matt K: I've been a PCA now for 3 years threw elder services Tempus CCA for my father who has had everything medical from throat cancer to multiple strokes and multiple more things. It is stressful and tough but I couldn't be happier with how they have treated us and has made life much easier in a lot of ways. Amazing companie and program. Blessed I can be able to be there for him around the clock and vice versa for him. Thank you for everything!

Linda Sullivan: Very disappointed with this organization. MInimum of assistance available based on my mother's income. Couldn't provide in-home health aide for time frame needed. Most important need was a medical alert device and they wouldn't help with that unless she took other services as well. Our contact must have been new because she couldn't answer most questions and had to continually call back. Hopefully others will have a better experience than we did.

5K Together: Elder Services is filled with kind and compassionate people who want to help elders, caregivers, and individuals with disabilities live in the community by providing services to them in their homes.
Jeff Bailey: The agencies through which they contract workers are abominations. These people basically are non-English speakers which in itself is not a crime but when the agency, the workers and Elder Sevices contract people who do not understand you, do not have the professionalism to let you know their agents cannot come or worse come on a different day attributable to whatever impairment without telling youand the cycle repeats itself with another agency or marginal employee of an agency it grows tiresome and simply is not worth it. The best laid plans....

The staff and volunteers in the Food Pantry work very hard to provide families and individuals with food and other necessities. They are respectful and pleasant to clients. At times they also must deal with clients who have unrealistic expectations of the assistance Catholic Charities can provide, or who rudely park in the Fire Lane, blocking access to the elementary school next door.Catholic Charities is truly caring for God's people.
