They will try to hold you hostage if you go for inspection sticker.The guy who inspected my car told me that my wiper blades would fail inspection and I needed new ones. To my shock, the wiper blades had been replaced less than a month ago. I ended up buying their unbranded low quality wiper blades that they were arm twisting me to buy for $25 just to avoid driving around with an 'R' sticker. I insisted I wanted to keep the old wiper blades to get an opinion from my reliable trustworthy mechanic. My mechanic confirmed that the so called warn out wiper blades would pass inspection anywhere else other than this station.

These folks managed to get my car fixed within the span of 2.5 hours from 4pm to 6:30pm without a prior appointment! You can tell they are very experienced and good at what they do. I have really struggled finding a good auto shop to go to with my car in the past and I have had work done on it and not had the problem resolved immediately knew I will not be returning to previous places but I'm so grateful to have the exact opposite experience with Jim and sons. after finding Jim and sons and having such a positive experience I can happily say I will absolutely be going back with any and all my car issues (I actually am bringing my car back in the upcoming week for a separate problem that's been going on for awhile and I've avoided but now I can confidently and excitedly bring it here to be resolved, that's how satisfied I was with them and the work they did) as well as recommend them to everyone I know. I mostly handle my own repairs, but if I needed a repair that is above my pay grade, I wouldn't hesitate to take my car here. As to people complaining about perceived political leanings or COVID precautions, we are all individuals and entitled to our own opinions. While MA was the birthplace of the Revolution, it seems they don't really teach about it or the ideas behind it. Thanks for the great service.

But I won't be back.-The guy doing my inspection didn't wear a mask. I didn't feel comfortable asking him to put one on based on the right wing rhetoric posted on the walls of the waiting area. After reading one of the other reviews, I'm glad I didn't! So he sat in my car with the windows up, heat on. When he delivered my car to me after the inspection I got in and didn't want to take my mask off. There was a strong smell of cigarettes even 10 minutes after the inspection. I drove around with the windows open to air it out.-The place just doesn't feel like a modern professional business. I'm new to the area and I get that a mom/pop small business like this is probably typical for Worcester, though it seems like things are changing somewhat. Just not my thing.

My vehicle had a damage in the bumper when I initially visited the shop for an inspection, and they informed me beforehand that they would not be able to pass the test because of it. They made it possible for me to install a pre-painted bumper that I had purchased online and couldn't have done at a body shop for a fair price. They also suggested doing the dent repair for less money, but I thought getting a brand-new, fresh part was worth it.

Sean Raleigh: Brought my car in with broken rear passenger shock late this past sunday, within less than 5 minutes was able to tell them my problem, gave them my keys and the next day they had taken care of replacing both rear shocks (it's always safest to change out both shocks instead of only one.)The only reason this isn't a 5 star rating is because I would like if they made printouts of itemized receipts. I didn't truly need one this time because it was one issue I had them take care of, but for anyone coming in with multiple issues you'll have to keep note of what work you had done on your car if you rely on written documentation to remember what was worked on last and what you need to worry about next.

Dudes McCool: Went to this place a few times over the span of bout 6 months due to an issue where my car wouldn’t start. They ultimately did not fix the issue and I had to take my car elsewhere while enduring crooked business practices. This was what happened:-Initially they told me the battery was bad which is why it wasn’t starting. This was ultimately proven to be wrong. They replaced my battery when it was not needed at a cost of $171.78.-I also needed an emissions sticker so I had them try and do that as well. They charged me for a emission sticker inspection when they knew full well it would not pass because they changed the battery. Apparently, the car needs to run for a certain amount of miles before the car computer can get an accurate read on emissions and they knew this beforehand yet still charged me $35.00 for an inspection that would never have passed.-A month later the car had the same issue because the battery wasn’t causing the problem. They took another look but couldn’t find anything and told me it was my fault - that I left a light on in the car even though I did not. I was charged $64.75 for a diagnostic that proved fruitless.-At that point I took it to another place for a 2nd opinion. The new place immediately told me the starter was the problem and it was one of the worst they’d ever seen. Ramstrom’s failed to correctly diagnose a starter issue, one that was evidently very apparent. Given that the 2nd repair shop said that the starter was very obviously the issue, I’m lead to believe Ramstrom’s was cheating me.All told, Ramstrom’s charged me $271.53 and did not fix any issues I came to them for. Ultimately, due to either dishonestly or incompetence, I’m out nearly $300 dollars from this place and they gave me nothing besides a battery that I didn’t need.There are many mechanics in the area. William Sanderson: Was told right control arm was bad, which they replaced. I later learned on my own you're supposed to replace both sides. They gave it a front end alignment when it's a front wheel drive car- it's supposed to get a 4 wheel alignment. Took them 3 days, and I had an appointment. Now car handles like a boat in water everytime I go over bumpy uneven pavement. Car stalled while driving, had it towed. After car's been sitting there for a week and a half, they tell me they think it's a bad fuel pump. Charged me an hour's labor for nothing. Had car towed out of there, and I will never return. 6 months after control arm replaced, bolts broke off leaving me stranded on Millbrook st. Worcester between Gold Star Blvd. and Burncoat St. If that happened on 290, it could've been deadly since tire collapsed.

Owen Beane: This is the ONLY place I will EVER bring my automobiles for service and/or maintenance!! They have only ever provided top notch work and customer service. They always teach me about the work that they recommend so I can make informed decisions. This is the best a customer can ask for in my opinion. Their pricing is always very fair...but really what they do is priceless. They allow me to feel that I am ALWAYS getting the work done properly. They have earned my everlasting trust and appreciation for what they do. Beth Slater: I would give Ranstrom zero stars if I could. Paid for new rear brakes in September 2021. Have driven less than 2000 miles since and took my car to another shop only to find out rear brakes were gone.metal on metal. The new shop took pictures to show and looked up carfax report when I said I recently did brakes and saw Ranstrom claimed to have replaced them. I was warned by another customer that a similar thing happened to them. Charged for work that wasn't actually done. This is flat out robbery and I plan to file a complaint using pictures from my new service station.Service:Brakes

By the time I arrived that morning, they already had my car on the lift, replacing tires with the appropriate brand. I can't say enough good about this organization. They smiled and were so friendly.
