JEWISH COMMUNITY HOUSING FOR THE ELDERLY: what do users think?
Dennis Christofi: my apartment #604, 370 Harvard is always too warm. everything else is great. I have been told to open my windows, which open a very small amount. This stops the internal air flow. I need ac but have never been able to consistently get it.It is around 75 degrees or higher in my apartment. Which is wasteful and uncomfortable.
Elias Nikitchyuk: My grandparents really like the community here and their apartment is very nice. It's nice to have Russian-speakers around.
Jim Miller: I work for local subcontractor that services this facility for all its glass work. I visit their multiple buildings within the property several times a week. Every visit, I take note of its prestine cleanslines and the on site maintenance staff following up with even the most insignificant blemishes within their clients rooms as well as stairwells and common areas. The overall functioning of all the many separate buildings on this sprawling property must be difficult, however JCHE staff appear to do it daily with ease. Hats off to all who work at this facility to ensure their clients get the absolute best of care.
John Dugas: Awesome place with really cool residents and staff!
David Gasparyan: Очень спокойно и как трафик здесь не существует проблемы нет всегда свободно
Glen Krugolets: Excellent community with a lot to offer to residents.
Ed Oconnor: Thay where verry helpfull
Local gide Viktoriya: Great gym for the whole family 👪!!!
Yohanny Tejada: Very good.
Anna Superson: They are having building renovation till August now

Beacon Communities LLC: what do users think?
Shashy: If I can give a 0 I would management is all over the place they never have anything in order, very behind on maintenance issues 3 yrs behind to be exact, I cannot make this up. There is zero communication between colleges. I have so many issues I would take days to finish writing, and to make things better when it comes to property managers the turnover is crazy.
Dorothy Testa: I will never tell anybody to rent a property that Beacon Communities manage.
TheHealthy Rebel: They NEVER answer the phone 😤
Kenneth Lynch: To whom may concernWhy do you let residents at Palmer Green bully, harass other residents, accused resident for doing nothing wrong? Why does Noreen discriminate against people with disabilities? The state attorney office will be notify asap!!
Lumina Mathurin: It weird!
Keychla Rodriguez: Excelente experiencia y servicio
Clarissa Garriga: 60 days after move out and still never gave me net security deposit only a letter telling my me i'll get it. tomorrow i'll be filing a small claims case against this awful company. literally have blackmold in their properties leaking ceiling and walls and all they did was repave the parking and add grills to make it look better as the tenants get sick in moldy units.
2632: I’d like to personally thank Dana Thomson, senior maintenance supervisor for taking one of my girlfriends off of my hands. She lives over at Georgetown Homes and when I lived there last year in 2021 he was kind enough to take her off of my hands. He started dating her and it helped me focus on work and my wife. Thank you beacon communities for hiring the RIGHT kind of people.
D. H.: Beacon loves to make rules that the staff doesn’t enforce- i.e no smoking, parking, dog waste. Management is non-responsive and requires multiple follow ups. There is always an excuse for why something isn’t being done. The latest being they are “short staffed”. The rent goes up $100-$200 a year but the quality of the apartments, the buildings, and services all have gone down the past few years. They rarely clean the apartment buildings-this one has dirt all over the walls and stairs. If you can get past all that then their apartments are an okay place to live.
anne walsh: Love living here..Excellent front office..brand new facilities..safe..beautiful grounds..people friendly..
Ruby Baez: I wish there was a no star rating. The apt homes at Georgetowne are falling apart. Management is horrible and are bullies. I haven't gotten anything fixed in the last 4 years. I've been living underhoused for 7 years. I wished things changed.
Michelle Westling: The property manager never responds to emails or phone calls even though I have two disabled advocates working alongside me. The maintenance team does respond in a timely manner and it takes forever to get anything replaced or fixed in the apartments. There are multiple things stated in the lease that is residents we cannot have yet they do not enforce this. Multiple phone calls to the corporate office requesting somebody reach out to me and call me that I need to speak with someone go unanswered.
Karen Fisher: Lived in one of their properties in Amherst, MA. Not impressed - no soundproofing and the contents of my cabinets shake when someone slams a door. Despite the complex being less than 3 years old, they've already had to re-do the wiring which makes you wonder what corners they cut. Unit was rented to me with several things that needed to be fixed, like a shower that wouldn't drain and blinds that could not be opened or closed which took over a month to fix. My biggest gripe - I took a job out of state that required me to break my lease and Beacon demanded two months rent, even though they'll have the property rented within that time frame so they are double-dipping. No communication from management on multiple levels.
P Stack: Beacon communities is great,I been living here at a beacon community and the first year was hard because I had no furniture.Im not ashamed I moved to beaconand the senior property manager Mary is a sweet heart she helped me get rental assistance and I am so happy to be a beacon resident. My boyfriend ex boyfriend did not want to pay rent his portion so beacon community is working with me .VAWA saved me and my daughter thank you Mary,Thank you to the cleaner who cleans this building beautiful, and what a view of our beautiful skyline. Beacon communities and Metro and JRI Thank you to Beac ok n communities
Edwin Leon: Definitely not the company to work for, you work hard and these people just give u the run around ask u to stay only to find a replacement lmao. Not in cooperate but at ohav sholom they are liars. Thank god i had a plan B which was leave i just waited but i am thankful for walking off yesterday because they are not worth my time and experience good luck with that site, straight unprofessionals
michael heenan: Critical:Professionalism,Responsivenessgood luck trying to contact ANYONE in this terrible company.
christine Mcdonough: Critical:ProfessionalismDisappointed. They are just as bad as pine estates office people. They don't care about their tenants. It's all about money.
Reika Valese: First of all when I first moved in five years ago,My property manager actually cared and my leasing officer always checked on me when I went into the office I felt completely Comfortable and safe, management and office staff has changed around so much , I don’t know who is who. This place is so unsafe , for starters I don’t understand how a family of four is allowed to be crammed into a two bedroom apartment especially when we have Several R/A’s that are not being addressed, by management nor corporate I’m in a household with people two that have disabilities and we just keep getting bushed off. On top of that , when I first moved in I had this lengthy background check , now they just move anyone in here. It’s sad really, and you cannot blame covid 19 for everything. I’ve called corporate and expressed concerns for my safety (so did my family and friends because I have police reports and so do Where I live and also they are all my witnesses) which they are supposed to do something about because I do have a right to safe and peaceful living as a tenant and they did nothing, they actually sent a letter to me via there lawyer and gave there group of residents that were harassing me and my children a slap on the wrist. Oh and I also thought it was a violation of the lease to have someone that has a criminal record living in your household? I guess that is a huge lie to , I guess this why I’m still unsafe in my own house in my own neighborhood. (It’s sad because they won’t give me access to the tapes , where these people stole off my porch or harassed me by my car. But yet they won’t all me to have a visual camera and once again, I have a disability.) it’s Sad I had to come write a review.
Anthony Gartman: Best place to work , best place to live ! Customer service and care for residents. First class !
Shane Redinger: Not professional at all. Currently having an issue with the management office at Montgomery Mills for more than a month, the property manager said if I reached out to the corporate office they would do absolutely nothing, they don’t care whatsoever about their people. And she was absolutely right. I’ve called and left multiple voicemails. Talk to multiple people with them promising that the manager from corporate would call, and nothing. They said the vice president would call. Still nothing. Nothing but unprofessionalism all around
Julia Carrion: Great people

Boston University Housing: what do users think?
Lory M.: BU Housing is there for our BU terriers! These past two years my daughter has struggled sharing a room with her two roommates and it is caused her to feel depressed and anxious. When she found out that for third year she would be in the same situation, she started having a panic attack. I didn’t know what to say or do for her. I reached out to BU Housing as a concerned parent. Steve Prue, Director of Housing responded to my email on the same day. I really appreciated his concern and understanding for my daughter’s situation. He provided options and made no promises but was genuine in wanting to help my daughter. There was an opportunity for my daughter to be in a better room and dorm and she was offered it. She called me hopeful and looking forward to her junior year! This gave me peace of my mind and heart. My daughter and I are grateful to Steve and BU Housing. BU is my daughter’s dream school and for me to know and feel that BU cares about my daughter’s welfare means everything to me! BU cares about our terriers!!! Fantastic team at BU⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lucia Banko: Amazing group of people. They genuinely care about the students.Big shout out to Steve Prue who personally got involved to help and was enormously supportive throughout the process.
Zakya Mouissat: My daughter was struggling with her accommodation for an entire month. A freshman international student. And after many calls to housing (without any responses); a big thanks to Mr Steve Prue who managed to fix our problem automatically. We were stressed to the point of almost pulling our daughter out of Boston University; as we are over 12,000km away from her. But he was such a huge help and a strong reliever of all the stress we had built up. Without the help of a fellow mother from the Facebook group chat, who directed me to approach Mr Prue, we would not have gotten anywhere in our situation. Thanks again to Mr Prue, greatly appreciated. As well as the mother in the groupchat.
Junia Janvier: Steve was able to quickly help reassign me to a new apartment, fulfilling all of my housing preferences, and I was also able to move in with a friend!
Hayden: Had to call multiple times for them to have to check with a supervisor every time, and for them to tell me they "accidentally archived my request." Took way too long to respond to emails.
Amanda Diaz Lopez: The housing team was really understanding and helpful when I presented my situation. They provided solutions and available options right away. In addition, they are easy to reach out and answer in short time.
Dani Augustin: Housing has helped accommodate my needs and has made sure that my needs are met in my space. They contacted me back very quickly and the overall process of switching dorms has been very easy!
Brooke: The Housing Team at BU has been so helpful, considerate and thorough. We so appreciate their help in navigating options and all of the requirements. Thank you!
Medardo Villarreal: As a BU student who was looking for help and accommodations when it came to the process of doing a Room Change Request, the staff were nothing but helpful! They made time to help me, and provided an immediate solution to my dilemma on the spot which I really appreciated! Additionally, they were really flexible when it came to working around my schedule as a student. Overall, they got rid of a lot of stress and made the processes I was going through way easier than anticipated!
Алиса Белоусова: BU housing replies look like random copy-pastes. Very difficult to get a simple question answered correctly
Robert M: My son had an issue with a vendor that is overseen by the BU Housing office. After trying for months to resolve the problem, one message to the Housing office resulted in the vendor immediately correcting the problem. The BU Housing office was easy to communicate with and highly responsive. Thank you!
Patricia Deyá: Great experience!
Ximena Walden: We had an amazing experience and very understanding staff that helped us and guide us thru the process.Very grateful for all the help provided.
Luis: I was not entirely happy with the housing option that we had requested and BU Housing (thank you Laura!!) helped us to relocate in one day! The new room is fully renovated and is the perfect setting for a great college experience.
blanton david: Through a two week process, Steve was in my corner, patient and trying to help me feel settled at BU. He did all he could and I am so grateful to have had him. He makes a 11,000 on campus university feel like a small country school. It’s amazing how much he cares about each student.
Sara Creato: The housing staff (especially Maha) were extremely helpful and allowed me to live in my ideal location on campus with a roommate that I get along really well with.
Casey Spring: I currently live in BU Grad housing and have shared almost all of the experiences other 1 star reviews have shared. The unit was extremely dirty when I moved in, the power goes out at least once a month, the wifi isn't good, the heat has problems working in the winter, the people in the housing office are not helpful, and the cost is WAY higher than what they allocate for in their budget. I thought I would avoid bad landlord experiences living in student housing but that unfortunately is not true. I also had mice on the fourth floor.
Printina Porchia: BU Housing has accommodated me extremely well over the years. Couldn't be happier with their help and kindness. Special thanks to Steve! He truly cares where students end up, so I appreciate him beyond belief. :)
Joseph Ka: Director Steve Prue and his team have been incredibly responsive and accommodating to my housing requests following an unfortunate study abroad situation. Very satisfied with the service.
Shaan Andalkar: They deal with a lot of things on a daily basis, but if you go to them and ask for help they will do their best. The people who work there really do care for peoples well-being’s.
Matthew Kuo: I have worked with Director Steve Prue the past couple years, whether it be with changes in housing assignment changes or move-in, and I can confidently say he has been incredibly flexible and put in a lot of effort to accomodate my various needs. He's truly caring about your requests and will work out a plan to make sure things go smoothly.

Benjamin Seaport Residences: what do users think?
LYNDSEY O'NEILL: After recently touring The Benjamin, I am extremely impressed with the building and the team. The 24/7 concierge (and door man!) is amazing, and the leasing office was very flexible with my availability for a tour. The apartments have the best views and so many options for floor plans. After looking at the many properties in Seaport, the Benjamin is definitely at the top of my list.
Chris Pell: The Benjamin is the best building in Seaport! The staff is so friendly, the amenities are everything I need, and the location is perfect. I highly recommend this building to anyone looking for their next home.
Cameron: The Benjamin is a beautiful property with high end finishes in the apartments. Their amenities are perfect for working from home or entertaining friends! Im really looking forward to the pool opening.
Tianyu Dai: I enjoy living in the Benjamin. The amenities are gorgeous, and the staff are super friendly. The building stays warm during the winter. The location is also great. Couldn't ask for more!
Gina Christiano: I recently attended an event here and was impressed by how beautiful the facility is, and how friendly and helpful the staff are!
Max Teitelman: The Benjamin has been an amazing place to live. The view is beautiful, staff is caring and maintenance is overall super effective. The facilities/amenities are fantastic and the events that are put on for the building are always really awesome to attend. Excited to be living here!
Barbara Dempsey: I love the Benjamin. It is such a beautiful, well maintained property. The staff is always helpful, attentive and friendly. The apartments are gorgeous and the amenities are great. The location is also fantastic.
Laura Elkman: I have been in the Benjamin for over 2 years and love it! There is no better place in the area with the views, sqaure footage, amenities and location for a rental building. The team at the front desk and the sales managers are the best! Always so personable. They do a great job hosting small pop-ups in the building to get residents engaged and networking as well. And of course, they are pre-friendly for my little pup.
Mary Ann Watts: The Benjamin Seaport Residences is the best! I can't say enough about my "home" here at The Benjamin. I can start with the members of the staff. They are professional and helpful and always have a smile. The cleaning staff does an outstanding job! Gene, the doorman, is always ready to lend a helping hand. If you are considering a move to The Benjamin don't look any longer. The ladies in the leasing office are the best! One more thing -- being located at the entrance of the Seaport is most convenient! Love living here!
Michelle Sullivan: We chose The Benjamin for its location and views - which are amazing - but a real surprise has been the great employees. From leasing, maintenance, concierge and doorman, everyone is very helpful and friendly. We couldn’t be happier with our decision.
Wilson Nguyen: I go out all the time. Seaport is by far the safest neighbor to walk home in the middle of the night. What makes Benjamin stand out is, it has the best location out of any of the buildings. Great view of Boston and by the station. Other than VIA, you have to make compromises between the two. Also the leasing team is the best in Boston, always hosting events and popups. (Today they are in the lobby giving out candy for Valentine's Day @ 6pm) If that isn’t commitment, I don’t know what is.I can't imagine leaving here.
Trent Esker: I cannot say enough good things about the Benjamin! From the beautiful lobby & amenity spaces, to the extremely helpful, welcoming, and accommodating staff, to the stunning VIEWS, the Benjamin is truly a premier building to live in Seaport and all of Boston. Moving here from another state was stressful, but the Leasing Office made it an easy and seamless transition. Special shoutout to Jen and Lyndsey who helped me throughout the leasing process and continue to make the building feel like home.
Dr Reeves: Great service, including concerge and maintenance staff. Very attentive and professional. Excellent location, terrific gym, and outdoor firepits. Residents and staff are all courteous and friendly - a great environment.
Shivani Patlikh: Clean building with a gym and pool, attentive staff - Lyndsey and Jen are quick to answer emails/calls and helpful. Great views as well!
John Dolan: I am a real estate agent based in Boston and I always recommend The Benjamin Seaport to my clients looking for a luxury living experience in Boston's hottest neighborhood. I have worked closely with Jennifer Herrera, she has always delivered the highest level of service to my clients and residents alike. I highly recommend the Benjamin!
vez z.: I was here for an event at their 4th floor lounge- it was beautiful!
richard haley: Hope to live here sometime soon
Patricia MacDougall: I have rented at the Benjamin for 2.5 years, and recently signed a 15-month renewal. After touring numerous apartment buildings in the Seaport, I concluded that the Benjamin had the best location, best amenities, best services, best finishes, etc. Since living here, I have found the building to be meticulously maintained and cleaned. It is quiet, which is important in a pet-friendly building. The management team, Lauren, Jennifer, and Lindsey, are professional, friendly, and responsive, as is the maintenance team, JG, JS, and JP. The doorman, Jean, is a gem. The Benjamin is a great place to live!
Marissa Leavitt: I can’t say enough amazing things about The Benjamin; especially, Lauren and the rest of the amazing team!
mai quach: Great location, you name it; near major transportation, good restaurant, hotel, Trader's Joe, IcA museum, Children museum, the headquarter post office, luxury harbor, fresh air, a few minutes to Boston Financial District Center, Theatre and the most important is BJ Seaport as my favorite home ever thanks to the individual team, department of BJ, they make you feel multi-millionaire, everything is SUPERB! that I can't find anywhere. I must thank to all very much, especially Lauren, she has made BJ Seaport greater ever to stay. I have been here since opening 6 years ago.
Michael Slabine: The leasing team is super accommodating, responsive, and fun and easy to work with! The Benjamin is phenomenal and in a highly desirable location. The floor-to-ceiling windows and stunning views are a must-see!

LightView: what do users think?
Jennifer Hong: Melanie E. in the office is super nice! She was always willing to help with my leasing problems and answered all of my questions with detailed explanations. With her help, I was able to solve problems and concerns and now I am satisfied with my stay here. Thank you!
Sneaker Galaxy: Lousy management, lost three of my packages and didn't claim responsibility. Never received any compensation for the lost packages as they keep denying their responsibility as they leave packages in a pile for anyone to take.
Aryn Chadha: Just like a horrible place. I have no clue how they’re still in business. Takes weeks. Literally weeks to fix a faucet. The only thing they do perfectly is getting you to sign the lease.
Chiara Rez: All the staff members at lightview are very nice and helpful. Anytime I go into the leasing office for anything, they are very understanding and help fix my problem right away. I've mainly spoken to Jess and Arshneel, and they are both great!
YMI: Minerva Valenzuela was extremely accommodating and meticulous when helping my roommate and I renew our lease. She helped us stay in our unit when originally we were told it wasn't possible. Thank you Minerva!
Danny ___: Terrible service. I was essentially told over the phone that they would give me an apartment but they lied. I will not have an apartment and have to find one now super late notice.
Tiana: I personally have had some bad and unhelpful experiences with staff, but I recently had someone named Lindsay in the office and she was super helpful! I suggest asking for her any time you need anything, its what I do!
Karan Jaggi: Terrible, scummy management. Only expect fast responses when it involves payment for them. Lost packages multiple times. Air vents blow dust into your room and heating/cooling will go out multiple times a month unexpectedly. Expect to get charged $1000 minimum to “touch up” the apt once you leave. The “security deposit” is not refundable. The laundry machine price says $1.50 but it charges you $2. Cheaply made and run. They’ll have a full building forever because of the prime location lol but this is by far the worst housing experience I have ever had
Miquel Alberti: The initial excitement of being able to live here has been met with a very harsh reality of how the admissions process works. The whole process of application has been painful to me. Starting with the fact that I had to pay 400$ dollars without any guarantee to get a lease. Then, no one was updating me on the status of the waitlist during the whole summer. I had to insist via email until someone finally replied "look for an alternative" at the end of July when it is extremely difficult to find another place. In the end, it was me who had to go to their offices in person, to get a refund check that I could not cash because I'm an international student and I do not have an American bank account. I had to pay a fee to be able to collect it.I started my application in May, so I strongly advise you not to even try it if you are already at that time.
Crystal Qian: Rubbish apartment🙃They don’t provide any service. The only thing they do is asking for rent one month ahead. And you might be assigned horrible roommates who would throw away your stuff and steal your stuff. And the apartment won’t be responsible for it. It is your problem and you have bad luck🙃And they are really active to ask for money, but when you require refund of deposit, you need to wait for a century. Just made some update, I had conflicts with roommates so what the apartment did is kick me out and they promised to return the rest rent of the month and deposit. Now they told me that I won’t get any money back and I owed they more money🙂I don’t even understand what’s the extra payment for. They just said I owed them money. I probably would get help from the lawyer. Think more before you decide to live in here.UPDATED!!!!!!!!!!They charged me over $800 for relet and I also paid the full rent for that month!!!!!! Even I moved out in the beginning of that month, which is required by them to move out at that date!!!!!!! And I asked their staff for several times what’s the charge for. Nobody answered me!!! I asked so many times! And I checked the contract there is only $250 relet fee!!! This is absolutely ridiculous! I refused to pay the money because I don’t even understand what’s the money for!!!!!! And now they requires debt collection company to collect money from me. And I checked the bill sent from the debt company. It seems that they charged me twice for the month I moved out! Any explanation?More update! They said that the August charge is August rent so they request the September rent. But the thing is they request the actual payment two month early! I moved into the apartment on August 30th 2019 and I was asked to pay the money July 1st 2019😅So if the August payment is for August, what is the July payment for? Is this legal?
adventureous Jesus: The front desk is horrible I don’t speak English very well and they proceeded to yell at me for carrying a box in on a trolly horrible experience
Jake Brown: Honestly, such a scam. Rude staff and service. Everything is unorganized, and leasing office does not communicate well or reply emails.
Michael “MikeDZ”: Lightview is a money printer making $1,500,000 a month with virtually no staff or cost and charge you double the price of a room without being able to look at it before you sign a lease. The air conditioner/ heating (when it works) is a health hazard that spews nothing but infectious ratchet unsafe air that would probably kill a young child. The building’s policy seems to be to gaslight and under deliver every chance they can.I’m sitting here in my room at night where the lights shut off automatically every 10 minutes with no hope of getting through a meeting or class without the awkwardness of sudden darkness — i’m frustrated, angry and upset and the last year of living in this poorly built, overpriced storage unit they call an apartment.
Leticia Ramos: Worst customer service. Worst management staff. Please just look at all the bad reviews...There are a lot of other places in Boston to stay if you are studying at Northeastern or any other university. Each time I reached out to them, they didn't help me at all, vague """""solutions"""" and so rude. They just want your money. Been waiting for a room for 2 months. They couldn't assign me one, and they sure couldn't let me know in advance. Almost arrived in Boston with no house or place to stay. They owe me money still, and I really hope to get a refund of my reservation fee, because for that kind of thing they were quite demanding and fast. But to give me my money back? They'll take months.THE WORST PLACE EVER. Literally any other house in Boston could be cheaper and worth the price. You could literally live in a hotel and pay less.
Ashraf Bade: Apartment is conveniently located and has great amenities but the price is way TOO DAMN HIGH!!!!!! We're talking per month rates that would get you multiple bedroom apartments except here you'd be sharing it.
Ben Carter: This place was awful. Management does not care, building looks nice but was very rushed and has many issues. Overall feel cheated out of my money. I found a much better place for the same price right near by.
Derek McDermott: Cool place, visited some friends here.
Breanna McClarey: Cheaply built, walls were so thin I could hear my roommates alarm going off in the morning and it would actually sake me up. Couldn’t talk at a normal volume without my roommates hearing every word. Paint is extremely cheap and will come off with just a piece of tape. Many times lost hot water with no explanation. Kitchen drawers were broken when I moved into the apartment. Rooms are about the size of solitary confinement.Worst of all is the management. Nobody seems to know what’s going on, you’ll get different answers every single time you call them. They “lost” my lease THREE times and after refusing to sign it again, they “found” it. Charged my roommates and I a cleaning fee after we moved out despite us having video proof of the apartment being spotless when we moved out.Absolutely not worth the price, would never live here again.
Jackson: The staff are nice, and the new furnishing is pleasant. The place is overpriced for the area though (over $1.3k/person for a tiny 4-person, dorm-like apartment), and there would often be hot water outages and the like. The community events were kind of nice but mainly performative. What's unacceptable, however, is how American Campus Communities insidiously steals oney from their residents. I went through the trouble of finding a student to re-lease from me for 2 months out of a 12-month lease, but only got my money back for 1 month after transferring my lease (the other student had to pay for both months, too). I went through correspondence after correspondence via email, phone, etc, and was ignored despite showing them my bank statements. This has happened to multiple Lightview residents I know, and Northeastern doesn't seem to care about them taking advantage of the occasional helpless student and violating the lease.Upsetting, shady, and predatory. I've heard rumors of other ACC properties screwing over broke college kids as well... Hopefully something can be done about this behavior.
Fiona Powell: From start to end my experience in Lightview has been negative. My roommates and I were all placed in separate apartments despite requesting to live together and signing our leases extremely early. After many attempts to resolve the situation we were never taken seriously and ended being split up between 2 different apartments. Security within the building is rude and makes you sign in guests every time they come and go from the building despite the policy being once every 24 hours (there is no guest sign in policy mentioned in the lease). The rooms themselves are hugely overpriced for what they are. In my shared room I have about a 4x2 area of usable floor space and half of my closet is unusable because it is blocked by my desk. The paint on the walls is so cheap it is impossible to even hang a command strip without the paint breaking off. We pay for the entire month of August when they make us move out half way through and we have to vacate the building by noon. When I called management to see if I could get an extension to stay a few hours later (I live 6 hours away and my family is unable to stay the night before in a hotel) I was told that it is "illegal for me to stay 1 minute after 12:00 because I failed to renew." I have never experienced such awful customer service and sadly that was my experience for my entire year living in lightview.
Audrey Murdock: I have had trouble with Lightview since I signed my lease and was not placed with my selected roommates. The staff is extremely rude and has no customer service skills. The building itself is cheaply made. Throughout the year, we often didn’t have access to recycling or even trash disposal. The paint on the wall behind our couch was peeling off. The room layouts are inconvenient and desks don’t have drawers. NOT WORTH THE PRICE. It is possible to find a single room off campus for the price of a tiny shared room in lightview. They constantly harassed us with reminders to renew and, since we did not, we had to move out on August 17th and pay full months rent (note that ALL other apartments begin and end near the beginning of the month). I am sad that my time in lightview was not positive as it could have been a great solution for Northeastern housing had it been competently managed.
