Sadie: The warranty on their furniture is only 2 years. We purchased 2 chairs over 10 year’s ago & the vinyl begin to chip. We were informed that we should be happy the chairs lasted so long… seriously! So if you buy anything from Bo Concept, know that they do not stand by their quality & what you purchase is disposable after 5 years. You can visit your furniture in the landfill or pay for what it would cost to replace to repair it.

My friend and I had never heard of BoConcept before, but we were drawn inside by the elegant forms and high craftsmanship of their products. We were greeted by Tarin, who was very warm and welcoming, and shared with us many details of the company's background and its structure, which excited us as design students. The space is very cozy, and serves as an excellent model of how BoConcept works to elevate any environment. One of my highlights from my afternoon!

Heather Kanser: It has been an absolute pleasure working with Gaya from the Newbury BoConcept store. From just a little input from us (including a floor plan) she was able to design our new living room and dining room all without requiring any commitment from us. It is rare to find someone so helpful and detail oriented that doesn’t put pressure on you. She completed the first pass of the design very quickly (within days) and presented it to us in the store where we could see the objects, materials and design presentation. We had asked her to pull us out of our color comfort zone and she did… she put together a design around a beautiful mustard colored couch. But when she saw our hesitation on going with a bold color (we are your typical grey and neutral boring people even though we want to be bold design people) she went back to designing and offered us a new presentation. This required her to change the colors of all objects. She didn’t mind this at all and prioritized our happiness.We are incredibly analytical people that do not make decisions quickly. Given this, we have gone in the store several times and just sat on the couch for 30+ minutes to make sure it was comfortable. Every worker that we have met in both the Newbury store and the Cambridge store have been incredibly nice and made us feel welcome and comfortable while we were testing the products. We even had our shoes off and were lying down on the couch and one of the owners (Louis) came over and asked us if he could get us some water. Louis as well as all the other employees always offer to help us if we are in the store and Gaya isn’t working. They appear to support one another very well.We hadn’t felt comfortable going ahead with any purchase given our condo is getting built and we wanted to double check the dimensions and see how the color scheme would work. Gaya offered to come with us to do this. She carried two big tote bags of large fabric swatches all while wearing the required construction hat and vest… what a trooper. But she knew this was what we needed to feel comfortable.I would highly recommend working with Gaya as well as the Newbury BoConcept store. She is incredibly hard working and detail oriented while not putting pressure on the customer. Additionally, she repeatedly goes the extra mile either by redesigning or going onsite or putting together the necessary pdfs, screenshots and documents. What more could you ask for? Additionally, the store is beautiful and well designed and Louis is incredibly knowledgeable and supportive of his staff.

Christopher Huntley (youcancallmemaurice): Great furniture, garbage salesman. Said hello and not a word after. Total douche since the store was empty. I came in to look at the Mahjong (which was my least favorite piece) but will be purchasing a different couch once I find a different location. Why people selling expensive things feel it's ok to ignore customers I do not know.
Susanna Leberman: I went in to see the sofa I had been very interested in and the two sales associates never greeted me. Considering the amount of time I spent in the store sitting on the sofa, trying it out…it just felt weird and awkward that they never even acknowledged me. It was disappointing to be wanting to visit an actual store and then to be treated so rudely. Beautiful furniture but underwhelming, uninterested staff.

Simon Watts: Amazing. The most beautiful examples of an eclectic range of furniture I have ever seen. I would have happily bought 90% of the pieces in there. The staff were welcoming and extremely helpful. I spent a whole hour in the store just browsing. Walked away having fallen in love with a living room lamp and an incredible rotating coffee table. Yes -- the furniture is expensive, but design at its zenith is worth every dollar. And honestly, the floor sample pricing makes most everything in there a really great deal. Go with an open mind and remember... quality remains long after the price has been forgotten. You only have to buy it once!

Ava Kam: My mom recently went to DWR to purchase chairs. However, when she went she felt that she was not treated with the same respect that the surrounding customers were receiving. When she asked a question regarding the chairs, the sale person gave her a very short response with a snobby attitude and told her to go downstairs to look at it herself, when in comparison to the other customers the salesperson would guide them themselves and thoroughly explain the product. Compared to her previous experiences at other locations, she felt that the customer service was very unfriendly and lacked care.
degen league: We received a gift from a friend which was made by Design within Reach. We wanted to return for a different item that fit our home better but were told you cannot return an item and get a credit or even do an exchange. The return only goes back to the original card of the purchaser, in this case informing the gift giver of the return. Insane policy and now we are forced to keep a gift we don’t want. Doesn’t encourage us to ever shop here or give a friend gifts from here again. Update your systems!

Raphael Matto: I had the best service experience of my life at this DWR (I’m mid-40s). The staff is wonderful! I worked with Adam L & purchased about 15 items over a 1/2 year period to furnish my new apartment. This was smack in the middle of the pandemic when there were heaps of supply chain & availability issues. Some of the items arrived quickly, within a couple weeks, others were delayed by months. Adam set expectations & guided me through all of it, provided updates, made sure I was getting the best sale prices, rushed to correct a couple mistakes for free (I’d forgotten to specify the leg color on a desk, and a table showed up in a different wood), and offered an incredible discount on one item I’d ordered that changed manufacturing locations & looked a bit different. He was so knowledgeable, helpful, and patient, esp with fabric choices, and some waffling on my part trying to decide between chair and sectional sizes. It really was the best retail experience I’ve ever had, both with the build-quality & beautiful design of my purchases and with the service—I’m so happy with how my apt turned out. I also worked with Andrew on a couple days when Adam was out, he is so relaxed & great, too, & the store manager, Margaret, who is wonderful, warm & friendly—she extended a sale date for me, & pulled some strings in a tricky situation. Delivery crews were also fantastic, navigating everything up a narrow steep staircase to my attic apt, and assembling everything quickly & expertly right there. One piece of advice: it’s good to know which type of delivery service an item is attached to—some usually larger items are linked to “white glove” delivery & can be partially unpacked in the street to squeeze them up tight spaces, & are assembled on-site. Other crews (standard service?) are only allowed to leave items on a front porch if they don’t fit in a door or up a staircase. So I’d recommend asking which type of delivery service an item is attached to, otherwise you might be confused or disappointed when something is left on your porch instead of being brought in. Anyway, highly recommended! I will always purchase through the store & not online for anything significant, it just really helps to have someone from the local store in your corner in case something needs to be returned, or to get status updates, etc. & I like knowing I’m helping out the local branch :)
Vicki Klein: We bought an Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman. Everything went so well until delivery was backed up and communication with our salesperson/manager fell apart. We were told one thing and then another. We had to chase down people in charge for answers. They couldn't even get the delivery on time after they screwed up. Now we are trying to return the chair and ottoman and need to pay for the return and restocking fees. It's been a week since we've heard from anyone after our salesperson said a pickup would be scheduled earlier this week. Even today, after being promised someone would call, no one has. For the price we paid for this chair and ottoman, and for the price we now have to pay in return fees, the customer service (or lack thereof) is so ridiculous that I can't imagine anyone wanting to invest in this store for anything. Everything should be top notch at these prices especially the customer service "white glove" treatment. It's been a total headache. Never again.
Fang Z. Ni: We ordered and paid for a TALL Eames Lounge Chair. 3 weeks later a SHORT Eames Lounge Chair was delivered. When we complained, we were told the correct TALL Eames chair will be available in 3 months and swapped.... 3 months pass and they AGAIN delivered the SHORT Eames Lounge Chair. At this point I am speechless. Design Within Reach should invest in some quality control measures.

Andrea Iriarte: The furniture is beautiful. You can buy pieces that you could not get anywhere else, by great designers. The price point is higher, but you are buying great quality and design. The sales persons are quite knowledgeable and helpful. The have private parking in the back of the store.

There was NOONE in the store. Then a guy comes, takes in the first party in line, and tells the next party it might be 15-20 minutes. So maybe an hour wait for us? But who knows? There was NO commuication. They clearly didn't give a damn about communicating with us. We could easily have been browsing in the store. Or have people make appointmemts. Just terrible cistomer service. Really disaapponting. We won't go back.

This is furniture that will look and feel good in one's house for a generation or more.In particular, Bobby Valentine has been a joy to work with when purchasing furniture. He's lightning-fast to respond with a quote and helpful with a good suggestion. He's the reason we're willing to make the trip into the city and visit this location.

Winnie Zhang: I'd been looking for a bed with my mom at American stores and was disappointed by their selections. But, I immediately liked many of the simplistic choices that Tang's offered. I would say that they're a bit more expensive than American stores for beds, but you are getting quality! I was in there for about thirty minutes and we were able to choose something, with delivery this weekend! (~3 days, since we ordered on Wednesday). I don't know who was the person that helped us but he was really friendly and helpful. They were supposed to close at 5:30 but he still let me and my mom come in at 6:15.

Ishan Johnson: Never AgainI ordered a bookcase and desk in-store. So far so good, right?Their warehouse called me to deliver during times I wasn't home and my building's dock was unavailable. After "negotiating" a time that was convenient, they then delivered to my home without the hardware. You'd think they want to settle this, right? Wrong.They're being difficult with me about getting replacement hardware. The store, warehouse, and customer service are horrible. I have never been treated so poorly. It's not like I'm inconveniencing them. They are the ones who sent an item without a way to put it together.I'm never purchasing anything from this store again. I go back as a customer with CB2 over a decade, but this is it.Also, they've now hung up on me twice. Zero stars.

Briana Gittens: I can no longer go in this store and browse around. Everytime I walk in, I’m always stared at by employees. They never seem to greet me or they just completely ignore me by walking straight past me. I walked in the other day to see if I can find a fruit bowl/salad bowl and saw two of the employees staring straight at me, we made eye contact, and they just turned around quickly as if they couldn’t even acknowledge my presence in the store. I’m usually the only person of color in there shopping, but for them to speak to other customers and ignore me.. it is so upsetting. Again, I want to shop in there because I really like what they have to offer, but again I always feel like they are watching my every move or they just don’t want to acknowledge my presence. It’s honestly disgusting to me. I think with these upscale stores like CB2, they “act” as if only certain people can come in the store and shop. And it’s noticeable on who they want to help with service. I will never come back in that store again.
Isabela Alves: I did a room design consultation with Saafiya and it was great! She came up with a great design plan for my living room, and I loved the items she suggested. She was considerate of my budget and provided me with a range of items. Service was 10/10, definitely recommend!

Everyone at this store was incredibly helpful and kind, answered my questions and gave me breathing room to walk around and check everything out. I was very impressed with the displays, colors, design, and customer service. We will be purchasing new furniture soon and will absolutely be buying some quality pieces from CB2!
Nathan Alexander (AlexanderScotch): Glassware is the best you'll find but the furniture is ugly as sin and extremely uncomfortable. I do not see the appeal in low rise sofa's that force the user to sit with a straight back. There is no room to lounge and relax. If you are prepared to spend $1000 dollars+ on one of these you best hope you have an entourage or friends to show this off to because that is all they are good for here.

I asked to be connected to upper management and have been given runarounds for multiple days now. They do lie about delivery frames, like other commenters say (by 2-3 months, to lock you in), but once they lock you in waiting, they also refuse to accommodate a disability, so I am not able to receive my over $2,000 item. I am posting under my real name, but I am unable to provide medical details here. I would like the upper management to contact me.

My husband and I needed a new living room suite: couches, lamps, rug, etc. Amy spent all the time we desired learning our needs and taste and then ordered what we needed. Everything is custom made, so it takes time. We now have the living room of our dreams. It is amazing how people who seem to love traditional walk into our home and absolutely love the look. Also, comfort matters, and our contemporary leather couches are incredibly comfortable.

Candy Albano: I live in Miami.. I purchased a Lafer recliner on Amazon that came from Il Decor. I did not know that the the chair would come unassembled. My husband was able to get the base on properly but could not get the arms on. I called the store desperate asking if they knew anyone in Miami that could assemble the chair? Michael was very helpful, he took all my information and called me back within minutes with the name of a moving company that he uses here who could help me. I called, the ABA moving company spoke with Boris the man Michael said would help me and in less then an hour two guys came, assembled the chair, and even helped me move the temporary chair back to the room it belongs in. They wouldn't charge me, although I would have been happy to pay! Michael called me later to follow up and it turns out he paid them to assemble the chair....now that is what I call CUSTOMER SERVICE. Thank you Michael for saving the day and possibly my marriage! On a side note, I am an interior designer here in Miami and Boston is lucky to have such a fabulous store with such incredible service, and I say that from a professional perspective!
Ann LoDolce: I virtually furnished my condo with the beautiful furniture I bought at Il Decor. The staff went 110% on every request each time I made a purchase. I had a table that broke because it was defective, and they fixed it without question. But aside from that, my place is now very special because of the selections with their advice.

Arick Milavsky: My experience at IL DECOR was exceptionally good and I am writing this review to highly recommend this store, its Manager and also the staff working with him. So 5! Two years ago, we bought some furniture for our new home and were helped in making the right choices by a very young Interior Designer: with great clarity and without ever being pushy, she drew a project and dedicated a lot of time, just to make sure we were happy with it. Also my wife was really impressed because we never happened to come across someone so highly skilled, extremely calm, polite and patient, in other furniture shops. Time went by and we then returned there for buying some accessories. Just few days ago, I was again in the shop, because we're now looking to buy a reclining chair for the living room and they do have some nice ones. Again, the experience was good, and I found a nice leather recliner. We never had problems with the home deliveries and also Customer Service reflected the high standard. For this reason, I just want to take this opportunity to thank, also on behalf of my wife, the IL DECOR staff for all what they did for us. It's been a pretty unique experience and we won't forget them. Also, we don't plan on going anywhere else to buy Italian furniture!

No need to hire an interior designer... The result of working with Michael has left me beyond fulfilled. justin hamel: After about a month and a half of browsing contemporary furniture to fill my living room, IL Décor a store in downtown Boston finally met my needs. I decided on a Calligaris Tower table and some leather Etoile chairs or however you pronounce them. The ordering process was rather quick. Honestly I was expecting 2 months but it ended up being 3 weeks which was surprising. The delivery guys came today around 11 this morning, I live in Back Bay so it was a nightmare for them. They ended up getting a parking ticket while they unloaded and set up my furniture. For contemporary furniture, it was evenly priced. The delivery was cheaper than I expected. I'm glad I waited a few months for the order, this setup looks awesome.
Frank Poltack: I was out shopping for bartsools this past Saturday and happened to stop into IL DECOR after a couple of other stores and found it quite a surprise. They cary Calligaris which I assume is thier main brand and a few other Italian brands. I was greeted nicely by Fa salesperson, who pointed me in the direction of a couple barstools--and after listening to what I wanted--he pulled up the exact stool out of a catalog. One benifit is that they were quick ship--and arrive in 2-3 weeks instead of the usual four months! Iwas sold! Bought four on the spot. My search was finally over-and I am now axiously awaiting his call to come and get them!The showroom is nicely filled with Italian furniture, not alll of which is quick ship--but from the looks of everything, is worth the wait!The service I recieved here was friendly, helpful the prices they offer are not what you expect for imported European furniture After my experience in a higher priced store (basically ignored), I was glad to have happened upon IL DECOR. I will be returning in the spring for my new bed.Check them out if you are in need of modern furniture!

Eric Matthews: The furniture is amazing, however the delivery and customer service after delivery was disappointing, especially given the cost of the "white glove delivery. We had an admittedly challenging delivery; however we got an eye-roll when we told them we wanted the piece upstairs and the delivery staff left after less than 5 minutes of trying. We had to move it ourselves. We don't blame the company for the challenge, but the delivery is way too expensive for eye-rolls and almost no effort to help.
